Stumbled upon this visiting from Toronto. Was a great later dinner option on a Sunday, amazing staff and food was delicious.

Delicious food and friendly staff

Quite simply the most authentic and best south Indian cuisine I've ever had. The staff are friendly and can't do enough for you. Good portion sizes and very reasonably priced. Couldn't help but notice the takeaway was just as busy as the restaurant. Will be visiting again!!

Great food, friendly staff. Starter fish fry and lamb chops with jeera rice, followed by mysore (spicy) masala dosa and a masala dosa. I will definitely go back to try out the curries.

Wow! Amazing fresh food. Lovely friendly team and wow, the food. The Dosa was out of this world. Like a giant crispy pancake with fresh chicken curry in it and tasty home made dips. Yum. Our new favourite. Certain. Hove establishments have gone well moody. Can see why!

We have only had take away delivered from here but both times it has been truly delicious. Really fresh and skillfully prepared dishes. A new family favourite.

Paneer Dosa was sooo delicious and the team were all super friendly. Absolutely authentic. We will be back !

Great food with an abrupt service. I ordered masala dosa and a mango lassi. Both the items had a great taste, decent price and good in quantity. I will definitely visit the place again.

Wow! What a gem!! I've got fed up of eating Bengali food in Indian restaurants..it all tastes the same to me, so wanted the eat something different! I was not disappointed! It's a very small place so do book in advance. The young lady there was beautiful inside out! She was so attentive and made us feel very welcome. Sadly I had eaten so much (couldn't help it.. everything was just SO yum,!) And I couldn't finish my dosa! I SHALL be returning there to have a full dosa! I'm so pleased we found this place!

Lovely place, able to accommodate for large party and food was brilliant.

The lady there was very helpful and accommodating, and managed to fit a last minute booking for up to 8 people (6 of us managed to make it). Very good service, and the food was thoroughly enjoyed by all of us! Highly recommend:)

Can’t believe we have an authentic South Indian restaurant in Hove! The food was delicious. I’ve had masala dosa’s in South India and these are on a par! Lovely service & very fresh food. Will be going regularly, that’s for sure!

Great food with vegetarian options! We had lunch with starters + main and a drink for 20£ each. Inside is small but with a great atmosphere and the service was great! Will definitely come back

Best Indian takeaway I’ve experienced in the Brighton/Hove area (and anywhere for that matter) for as long as I can remember.

The only problem we had was ordering and paying on line but once I’d rung then and ordered it was easy . Absolutely the best takeaway that we’ve ever had . The onion bhajis were amazing and just like I remember them in days gone by . Lovely meals with a different South Indian take .

I wish I could give this place 6 stars. For reasons that have never been clear to me, the selection of Indian food in Brighton/Hove is dire. 99% of the restaurants here are terrible. It took me 8 years of trial and error to randomly give Madrasi's a try and it is truly a cut above the rest. I love spicy food and they bring the heat instead of dulling things down for a Western palate, which was instantly endearing. Their dosas are out of this world amazing, and the portion sizes are very generous. I've only had takeaway so can't comment on the dine-in experience. But if you're new to Brighton/Hove, this is THE Indian place to try, trust me. Also, they employ their own delivery drivers so there's no need to give unethical businesses like Deliveroo your money.

Great experience, went in last night for a valentines day meal as my other half had booked it, service was great, food great, nice atmosphere, all in all a really nice meal. Also super reasonable on the price.

Really tasty food, unfortunately sambhar was served stone cold. It's a small pace but still took 30min for starters and 65min for mains. Feel like takeaway orders were given priorities. Such mishaps can be avoided if the menu is not so extensive. Definitely visit again, will expect better service.. :)

Excellent midweek eats. Gaff is tiny with only about 4 tables, so book book book. Eats so light and tasty , its not so cheap we paid around 90🦑 for 4 pl. no booze. BYO 🍺🥃🥂🍷🍸 saves a few 🦑🦑🦑 too. All in all go go go

The original Indian taste 👅. Dosa was NeXT level 🔥🔥. We even ordered lemon rice which was great as well. At the end Masala chai🥳🥳 All together this place should be in your must visit places in Brighton.

I will be back very soon for another dosa, these are delicious and the Dahl is the best ive had in this country - loved every mouthful. There are only a few tables so book to eat in. V good value and friendly service.

My second visit, once with a friend and last weekend with my partner, and I'd definitely eat here again. Food is amazing, service is exceptional and the cost does not offend the pocket. I've opted for meat dishes both times and this time went for the lamb dosa which is amazing. I'd definitely try more traditonal vegetarian dishes on my next trip.

I went there with my family for dinner on 27th Jan. The food was simply amazing. Very authentic Indian food, large portions and very very affordable. A must go to place to enjoy authentic Indian food. The 2 gentlemen and the lady at the counter were very pleasant...

Easily one of the tastiest curries I've ever had, and vegan too (I had the brinjal)! Incredible depth of flavour in the curry, rice and starters, without being too salty or oily. 100% will be ordering again! Only downside was delivery time which was over an hour but happy to let that slide with food this good.

I visited this cozy little restaurant today for lunch and I’m glad that finally there is one good authentic South Indian restaurant in Hove. Food was delicious and the lady there was very friendly . Highly recommend this place if you fancy eating authentic South Indian food.

Tried Dosa and Kothu paratha as takeaway and it was delicious. How I didn’t know about such authentic food near me earlier. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for Authentic Indian food.

Best idli I've ever had! The okra and masala dosa are top-notch flavour vibes also, especially the sambar. I had to stop myself from eating too fast and not leave anything left to take home from all that in front of me! 😅

Absolutely delicious South Indian and North Indian vegetarian options. Had the Paneer Butter Masala, Dosa and chilli paneer and been absolutely obsessed with all of them. Had a few times now and been consistently good 10/10

Ordered a takeaway for a family gathering as previously enjoyed the food from here. We were completely disappointed in the takeaway that got delivered. Two different dishes tasted the same and the sauce on all dishes we ordered were very watery and with around 4-5 small pieces of meat in. Also the mango chutney was like syrup and the mint sauce wasn’t of any standard. Gutted as this place was my go to Indian!

We have eaten out in many indian restaurants over the years and the meal that we shared with our two young adults this evening was absolutely delicious. I had a Kerelean fish curry, my husband had a chicken dosa, our son had chicken tikka and our daughter had butter chicken. None of us could fault the dishes. We have had a couple of curries recently and this surpassed both by miles. Give this a try you will not be disappointed plus you can take your own drink which is even better.

The food is stunning! I haven't tasted better Indian in Brighton/Hove. Be aware that they don't serve alcoholic drinks but you are welcome to bring your own.

I’m in two minds about my review… this is just about the best Indian restaurant I’ve eaten at and they deserve to do really well. But it’s small and if too many people find out about it, we may struggle to get a table! But it really is so good that I just felt obliged to share the good news - but maybe just order a take away so we can still get a table?

Excellent Dosa and Utthapam. Better than other south Indian places. Ambience is also nice and is a very good family run eatery.

The dosa was perfect. Best one i have had in a long time !! It was fresh, crispy and huge! The service was lovely; the staff were attentive, cheerful and chatty and definitely were the highlight of my experience. We tried many different dishes, but what really stood out to my sisters and I was the naan. This was buttery and soft and really tasted authentic and flavourful. They have a lovely seating area with big windows, and really elegant lighting. I will definitely be returning; perfect for families, a date or just enjoying a delicious meal solo! i highly highly recommend this place. thank you!

Amazing. The food was great, I usually go to west ham to experience the authentic taste of Indian food, but having a restaurant that provides a taste like this is really amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants to experience this sort of taste that they would normally get in India.

Had a fantastic lunch here yesterday - definitely recommend! We shared the Masala dosa, chicken chettinad curry and coconut rice - it was all delicious! Everything was beautifully cooked and made with fresh ingredients. Wonderful food, wonderful service- we’ll be back soon!

Ordered a takeaway for my bday and we were pleasantly surprised! Each and every dish had different flavours and unique taste unlike most of other Indian takeaways I had, which are mostly tomato sauce based. Chilli chicken, chicken chettinadu and lamb buriyani were our favourites out of all the dishes we ordered. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be ordering again.

Yummy food, good quality and filling portion size

Food is really good, dosa particularly tasty. There's several tables so ate in, dosa is best eaten fresh. They don't have an alcohol licence, but BYO is ok. Highly recommended if you like South India food.

Recently opened so some teething problems with service and seating. But amazing authentic food, Small space. Busy. Many South Asian customers evening we visited. Very good sign. Already planning a return visit. Very accommodating of family with small and infant children.

Excellent cooking in a delightful small and casual eating place in Hove. We shared two delicious appetisers/ side dishes before our dosa mains. Delicious! Very friendly and informative staff. Amazing food at a fair price.

It might look basic when first entering, but the food is simply outstanding. Three of us had a variety of dishes and all agreed best curry we've ever had!

Recently visited this hotel at time of 9:45 p.m. ordered typically Madras based food , masala dosa, veg kothu parotta very tasty like it lot and must try.

A great find. Authentic masala dosa which was filling with delicious accompaniments. Venkat was quite attentive and courteous. Would definitely go again to try other delicacies!

Found this by accident and was so happy I did. The dosa is the best I have had and the hot chicken starter was a brilliant complement. Before we left, we were already planning our next visit.
