Not worth the hype Food was Indian but lacked any boldness in taste Roti served had characteristics of a bread out of oven 1 roti cannot be served | why ? Service and people are great at Mowgli, the place was jam packed still everything was served on tome

Went with some friends. It's interesting decor, and good atmosphere. The food is in small portions so it's more like Indian tapas. It is very tasty and quirky so don't expect and indian meal. Not sure I would go again. Feel like an experience had.

Was recommended Mowgli by someone at work, and this didn't dissapoiint, I had the workers tiffin and every dish was cracking, especially the house chicken curry, a bit like a korma but way more flavoursome. My partner had the butter chicken and that was also really tasty.

Visited on NYE (taken a while to leave the review) but didn't enjoy it very much. The service was very slow and not particularly helpful. The food was ok but I was very ill the next day. I can't say for certain it was the food I ate here, but am fairly sure. I have been to the London branch, which I enjoyed, but wouldn't come back here.

Lovely lunch in central Dukes Lane location. We ordered two tiffin boxes to share to try out a number of vegetarian and meat dishes. Portions plentiful, really good food and friendly service although once it got busy a bit rushed and flustered when asked to take a pic. Restaurant adorned with fairy lights, swing seating and quirky touch. Pricey but nice food was very busy at lunchtime so get there early. Disabled toilets on top floor.

Absolutely stunning food! I ordered the office worker's tiffin box for 1. It included 3 curry dishes and a rice all for £20! Amazing value, It's big enough for 2! My partner ordered 3 dishes off the menu so we definitely had more food than we needed. Service from the staff was fantastic. Unfortunately we had to wait 45 minutes for food which knocked the stars down. It was disappointing as we had booked a 5:45 table, and they were only half full.

I went to Mowgli’s this evening with my partner and some friends and had the best experience. Dean was super accommodating upon our arrival after we expressed not wanting to sit in the swing seats (fab idea, just not for us!) we ordered some incredible food, which tasted and looked beautiful- and to top it off we had a wonderful waitress (Isobel) who made us feel so amazingly welcome and attended to. So the tall gentleman greeting everyine arranged another table for us, we are sorry to have been a pain in that area. Ordered our food and every single item was beautifully prepared and incredibly tasty. Not a single dish we did not love. Isobel our server (we asked for her name so we could mention her in our review), was so friendly, nothing was too much to ask. She really is an asset to the team. Along with the tall chap at the start (unfortunately I forgot to ask his name). Highly recommend coming here and I am sure we will be back plenty more times.

Went last Saturday, my partner made the booking. The food - was absolutely amazing. Incredible dishes and very, very impressed with the food. Personally liked the Angry Bird and the Chip Butty the most from the dishes we ordered. However, my experience was spoilt by the terrible service we received. Not sure what went on with us, as others I spoke to that have been said it was great. Ours was awful. Was greeted by who I presume was the manager, who showed us to a seat and explained that one of his team would be along shortly to take our drinks orders and explained how it works here. Nodboy did. We sat next to a table of 4 or 5, and then 10 minutes after we sat down a table of two next to us. After being in the restaurant for 25 minutes we were asked what we'd like to drink and we placed our food order at the same time. The lady also took the drinks orders for those either side of us. Few minutes later, the two tables either side of us got their drinks. A few minutes after that the table who arrived after us had their food arriving. Still no drinks for us. A different lady came to us shortly afterwards and asked if we wanted anything l, we explained that we're just waiting for our drinks, she came back a few minutes later and said "you're drinks are the next ticket" - in total we waited nearly 40 minutes from entering the restaurant to receive our drinks we ordered 15 minutes earlier. Our food arrived at the same time as our drinks. Was very disappointed and no apology. Other tables who were sat either side of us, one of those arrived 10 minutes after us, had their drinks before we'd even been asked what we'd like to drink. Our table was booked at 12.45, it was busy, but not full.

First visit. Never heard of any of the dishes before. If you are looking for a balti or masala it's not the place for you. We had the office workers tiffin tin, cheese on toast and yoghurt chat bombs. Everything was tasty, well prepared and presented. The tiffin tin was for layers; a plain rice, 2 meat curries and a vegetarian. As we ordered the same thing the dishes were different. There is a vegetarian only tiffin tin. We had plenty to eat from the tins alone.

Service was slow and chaotic. Ordered drinks never delivered. Wrong food brought to the table. Food quality was fine. Everything was a bit too reliant on chillies rather than subtle flavours. Small portions made it an expensive experience compared with any other Indian restaurant. If you are hungry, three dishes would be in order, I wasn't l, so I ordered two, both around £9. I was largely ignored when trying to pay the bill. Great interior design and an interesting update on Indian food. Very noisy, our party of five had difficulty hearing each other's conversations. Not good for a quiet night out.

We came in with high expectations, owing to the menu, reviews and the story, however, left disappointed. The concept with the tiffin boxes is very cute and the idea to order multiple dishes is fun. The chaat was well made. Unfortunately, however, the prawn curry and the paneer curry tasted the exact same- in an undercooked tomato sauce that tasted like packaged tomato soup. The prawn curry also had peas in it, which as an Indian I found really odd in a prawn curry. The saddest bit however, was that the paneer curry had precisely TWO pieces of paneer, which was utterly disappointing as we ended up paying a lot of money, but for food that was not to be found. I gave feedback to one of the servers who was incredibly friendly and kind. To me, overall, the food that Mowgli serves, gets full marks for style and presentation, but falls very short for being called 'Indian' as Indian flavours were hugely lacking. Honestly, the lack of Indian flavours in an Indian restaurant and the TWO pieces of paneer, really marred the overall experience of the place.

We turned up at 12.10 to only be told we couldn't have a table as they were full and the restaurant was busy. Pretty annoying as when we got there early we were not warned that they were likely fully booked or that we had to be quick for walk ins and would have happily waited for 15 mins if we had known that would have happened. So although didn't try the food, the communication was pretty poor.

Mowgli is *WITHOUT A DOUBT* one of the best restaurant experiences in the whole of Brighton! 💯 Not only does it offer some of the most flavorful, unique dishes you’ll find in the area, but every single option offers its own character and personality to your meal. I'd *highly* recommend that you visit with friends or family so you can swap and share dishes and explore more of the menu, since there are no wrong choices at Mowgli. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere for couples and larger parties. The fairy lights woven throughout illuminate the darker spaces for a cozy date corner or extenuate the bright areas in a soft, cozy illumination. And the SWINGS! Brilliant! They create a fun dining experience for someone who enjoys wiggling with delight as they enjoy their meal. The staff are lovely and incredible at explaining the best way to enjoy the menu, though they can become less attentive as the restaurant got busier throughout the afternoon/evening. That said, at least two of the ladies were *amazing* at helping us navigate our way through the menu, and I'll be sure to shout them out in the future... There's no question that I'll be visiting Mowgli many, MANY more times in the future, and highly recommend doing the same before it becomes one of Brighton's hottest dining spots in town! ▬▬▬ RECOMMENDATIONS ▬▬▬ Here are a few strong recommendations from my several visits to the restaurant: ►The MOWGLI STICKY CHICKEN was recommended highly by several people throughout Brighton, and was ultimately the dish worth ordering twice! Cannot recommend it more highly if you're dropping in. ► The BHAL PURI is a super robust and bright palette of flavours, and certainly lives up to its title as "Bombay's best-loved street food"—as long as you're not allergic to peanuts! ► The HOUSE LAMB CURRY is a rich presentation of lamb and a great topper for rice. ► The GOAN FISH CURRY has one of the best sauces in the restaurant, even if it overpowers the fish a bit. ► The MOTHER BUTTER CHICKEN continues to be a delicious, flavourful cornerstone of the Indian-inspired menu, and is (of course) worth ordering and enjoying!

Went for Dinner with my partner last week, was really excited as I had been to the Manchester location and really enjoyed it. To start we had the Chilli Margaritas and they were plain jane average - just tasted like a pre made mix with a slice of chilli in it as an afterthought. After we got our food there was no check back... my partner had found two pieces of long hair in his food (well mouth) and there was nobody to tell. The food itself was just okay. Left feeling a bit fed up rather than like we had a treat. So many great restaurants in Brighton, so don't be dazzled by the fairy lights. Won't be back and won't be reccomending.
