Holly with a Y Amazing! Service was out of this world, smiling and helpful, asked if we wantes the service charge and charity donation. Food was brilliant, flavour was intense and sharing dishes are fun and friendly. Cocktails were a winner, not much else to say on that. Would defiently recomend, especially brighton Mowgli

We really enjoyed our visit to Mowgli in Brighton. My wife does not enjoy over spiced food, and does not normally go to Indian restaurants. However, the waitress was able to recommend some fantastic options for her, which she loved and wants to try again. My own food was also great, balanced heat, flavour and spice. Thanks for giving my wife a gateway into a world of wonderful flavours.

Was in a work trip and went based on the ambience looked real pretty . Sadly the food was Absoloutley awful . I can say with conviction that I can make a much better curry . The naans were like flat breads pretending to be rotis . The lamb was black and looked and smelled awful . The taste like days old meat . Real curry lovers would not like this food . The recipes at meant to be family recipes but Nisha I think you really got this wrong - 4 tiny prawns that tasted only of tomato and ghee no spices ?? The food seemed like it had been cooked quickly with very little merging of spices . I’m sorry t this upsets you Nisha but you really need to work on the taste of the food the service and ambience beautiful . Was really dissapointed after days of eating bland food this was a real low

What a lovely place, me and my friend didn't know where to eat and walked past Mowgli it looked so pretty from the outside with the lights and swings. We entered and was met by a lovely guy who seated us, the service was great. All the staff were so lovely and very attentive. Food was absolutely delicious especially the monkey wrap and lamb chops, we will definitely be returning, thanks for a great experience

We had a really lovely meal here today. The staff were friendly and attentive. The mood, lighting and decor is great. We thought the food was really good, very flavoursome. We had the yoghurt chat bombs for starters and they were delish. The set menu was a great choice as we got to taste a few different things. We definitely recommend this place 👌

Mowgli Brighton was everything I read it would be! From the minute I entered - early - I was given space to wait for my friends and treated myself to a cocktail. We later shared the set menu. The starter so unusual was incredible! Mains were amazing. Having a dessert was a real treat. Plus every member of staff were so welcoming friendly knowledgeable and helpful. Visited yesterday before going to the Brighton Centre. I’ve heard /read good things about this place and also friends have recommended it. When we arrived, it was very busy and we had to queue to get in and then wait for our table to become available. This then meant we were rushing to eat as we had to be elsewhere. The food was mediocre at best. The positives though were the staff who were all friendly, even though they were rushed off their feet and the atmosphere of the restaurant with the led warm lights made a nice setting. Would I rush back there, probably not, but we will give it another try when it’s not as busy and we have more time to enjoy our food.

All 3 curries on our set menu were so watery and disappointing. The waitress said ‘oh yeah it’s a bit hit & miss who’s in the kitchen, and the manager said ‘oh you’ve been unlucky, the 3 curries you were chosen, are the watery ones. (Not sure why any of the curries should be watery) He then said he would take the drinks off the bill as an apology. He took 1 out of 2 beers and 1 out of 2 wines from the final bill, plus 10% so we thought, ok that’s not bad. We were handed the card machine straight away with a price typed into it and we paid, thinking that we wouldn’t actually pay a service charge given that the curries were so poor. It wasn’t until the waitress walked away that we looked through the bill, she had in fact added the ‘optional’ 10% service charge herself without our knowledge, therefore knowingly reversing the 10% discount they had ‘kindly’ given us themselves. Very poor and wouldn’t return

Amazing food, fantastic choice of dishes, we had the £25 each set menue, which was all delicious, the staff so friendly and helpful, made us feel very special, great value and beautifully decorated and sitting on the swings were a wonderful experience, highly recommended and a great atmosphere, truly a special place

I was disappointed with my meal. I was visiting Brighton and this restaurant popped up as one of the first ones and highly recommended in my Google search. I have NEVER been to an Indian restaurant that didn't have NAAN, specifically garlic naan on their menu. I've never been to an Indian restaurant that didn't serve chicken tikka masala. When I asked about this, I was told that the restaurant takes a very traditional and home-style approach to Indian food and that these foods (those I mentioned) are not authentic (paraphrasing here). I cannot get over how disappointed I was. I would not recommend this restaurant. If you're looking for delicious, simple, REGULAR Indian dishes that you get at a typical Indian restaurant, this is NOT the place. I honestly should have known better because having had a closer look at the Google reviews, you'd see some of the lowest reviews come from people who appear to be Indian (and that should say a lot because THEY would/should know good Indian food). Sigh. Mowgli, please make it clear on your website that you take a SPIN on Indian food and that regular, degular delicious Indian food is not served at your restaurant. In terms of the service, in the beginning it was ok. Then when I was done with my meal, I waited for the waitress to bring the bill but she actually went to have her lunch/break right where I could see her. It was all so strange. Did she think that I wasn't going to tip her (not that I have to)? Is it because I was...? Anyway, cute decor and clean bathroom but wouldn't recommend :( P.S. Stop copying and pasting your responses about the recipe from the founder's family etc...Can your response at least be (umm) AUTHENTIC?

Amazing food! My and my gfs go to always. Angry bird and butter chicken are to die for. Service is always fast and never wait long for good, perfect for dates

Been wanting to visit here for ages and it didn't disappoint. To start with it's a pretty looking place with loads of twinkly lights everywhere. There are quirky swing seats at the window, that looked fun, but the person I was with preferred a seat with a back to it so we chose a table. The server was excellent and happy to explain how the place worked ( ie no actual starter/mains, food comes from the kitchen as it is cooked) and the size of the portions. We went for sticky chicken ( to die for!), chips butty ( substantial and very tasty ) dhal (flavoursome and nice texture) and some bread. Perfectly adequate for us for lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed it all. It wasn't very busy at 2pm on a sunny Monday but still had a good atmosphere. I'd recommend it highly. Love Nishas food and this was a real treat for me!

The service and decor are okay. The food is terrible, would not pass as good flavoured Indian food anywhere! Over cooked fish, bland chicken and the curry sauces were not cooked properly. Would not recommend or go there again!

Had a fab family dinner in the Brighton branch a month ago. The restaurant was lovely looking and the service was excellent. Really attentive and good value for what you get. We met a Greyson who was working in the kitchens who kindly explained to my elderly mother who was worried about the spice levels what the dishes were and helped her choose the right food for her, which she enjoyed immensely. We will be coming back for more!

Really good experience at Mowgli, really really authentic and excellent food. We enjoyed the experience. Reason for 4 (not 5) stars were because - we were completely ignored for 20mins at the front door. When attended to, the gent seemed grumpy and annoyed. Also, pricing was high although, you have to pay extra for class, I guess!

Had an absolutely brilliant evening at Mowgli, made even more special by our amazing host, Kat. After calling the restaurant to say we were running late the lovely girl on the phone told us not to worry and she’d move our booking to 15 minutes later to give us a bit of time. When we arrived we were met by Kat who made us feel welcome, we had our dog with us and she made such a fuss of him we loved the place straight away! The whole place looks amazing, the monkeys everywhere, the swing seats and the fairy lights all look awesome! We hadn’t been here before so we were a little unsure of what to pick from the menu, Kat gave us some amazing advice and were so glad she did! (You HAVE to try the yoghurt chat bombs, absolutely unreal! But be advised, best to put the whole thing in at once!!) The meal was fresh, delicious and cooked to perfection. I can’t speak highly enough of the staff, the chefs, everyone. We will definitely be returning soon!

We visited for my birthday meal and were served by Holly. She was very attentive and we were sat having a lovely chit chat for hours. We never felt rushed and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. Food was delicious and I highly recommend the rose and raspberry gin and tonic!

I recently brought a date here and was torn on what to get order luckily I had spoke a lovely person outside (Grayson I believe their name was) that I had later found out was the chef who took the time to suggest a few options. The meal it's self was impeccable (I ended up having the Goan Fish Curry and Himalayan cheese toast as suggested) and the service was amazing everyone was so kind to us, I only wish I had gone here sooner but it will definitely be the future go to for date nights.

Food was a big disappointment, definitely not authentic Indian as Im Indian and know what it tastes like. Everything we ordered was sweet. Service was slow. The only positive about this place is the ambiance. Overall looks good but tastes bad.

This was my first visit to any of the Mowgli restaurants and the one at brighton was absolutely disappointing. We were the first customers of the day but had a long wait for the waiters to come take up our orders. Later, except the bhel puri, nothing seemed even half authentic indian food. Especially the chole and temple dal definitely needed more time on the stove and also very salty. The so called roti was very bad and stringy and worst of all is that basmati rice had lot of soda added to it which resulted massive amount of gastritis and heartburn for us. The mango lassi was so salty and was definitely premade and kept for many days before being served. Overall we paid quite a bit of money for very bad food experience. Will not return back. If you are looking for healthy and authentic indian food, definitely avoid this place .

Excellent service - Holly was super friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel very welcome! The margarita, mango mocktail, vegan keema karma curry, and gulab jamun were the food and drink highlights.

Highly recommend Mowgli in Brighton. The staff are all very welcoming and the interior is beautiful. Holly our server was particularly attentive! The food was brilliant. I've been here multiple times and will definitely be back again.

My partner and I lunched at the Brighton Mowgli earlier today and had an excellent experience. We were warmly welcomed right from the start. Michael, our waiter, was genuinely exceptional in his customer care to us and also to other tables. I heard them comment on his friendliness and helpfulness which we also experienced. The food was all excellently presented and tasted delicious. We enjoyed every moment of the meal - the food, care and setting all made for a special birthday meal. Thank you Michael and the team! Highly, highly recommended.

Celebrated my post-graduation meal here with some visiting family. The staff were absolutely fantastic and made the day even more special - our host greeted us warmly and our server was fantastic, very knowledgeable on the menu and lovely to chat to. We went for the Tiffin which gave a delicious selection of curries, with the roti, slaw and rice as sides. Plenty of food for 3 people, clean plates and happy faces all around. Will definitely be coming again!

Went in the for the first time with my partner and was instantly whisked away to a different world. Great comfy atmosphere and the Indian street food? You can’t go wrong. The yogurt bomb things (I forget the name) are a must have. Will 100% be returning here, probably this weekend actually.

Had the best time in Mowgli, the swings and fairy lights added a great touch. The food was to die for, the sharing menu was a great option for first timers like us. Under supervision we also added the sticky chicken!! (An absolute must) The cocktails too were just so incredible, a great touch to a wonderful evening. Been to a few locations of Mowglis now and can hands down say that this was the best experience! Staff were so friendly and accommodating recommending dishes, drinks were delish and the food came out quickly and was so flavourful! Will be back to feast again soon!
