Possibly one of the curries I've ever had, in any part of the country and I've had hundreds!

Absolutely delicious! The curry was full of flavour, the meat extremely tender and the rice perfectly cooked. The naan is so fresh! Great service too, such a gem of a place. Thoroughly recommend!

A really disappointing experience and below average food. Take your changes if you plan on eating Indian food here. Ambience is good but service and food will let you down. We had simple order, nan, rice, dal, curry etc and expect nan and poppadom, rest all basic items we’re completely messed up. Many items were not available for order. Paneer curry was so bad and you can even question whether it was some flour coated rubber or real paneer. Dal was half cooked and bland. Rice was tiny in portion size and unnecessarily oily for no reason. They don’t serve liquor anymore but allow your to carry your own. Don’t think it’s good anymore and dialled down from 2-3 years ago until when it used to be really good.

I ordered a chicken Korai and a Tikka Korai turned up. I don’t eat tikka because of the food colouring. Also the dish had so much oil America could of invaded.

Ordered meat Rogan gosh and chicken tikka was sent a tasteless chicken Rogan gosh and the tikka just tasted of coconut. Won't go there again. .

Well wat a disappointment that was, paid almost £45, for food for 2 people starter 4 doms and a pickle tray, a vindoloo, and a madras chips garlic nann absolutely appalling , I like a hot curry, but omg likeb a bit stronger then a korma it was terrible and had to ding it all and that was a take away gud know how much to eat inside, never again that's all I can say!! FROM A DISSAPOINTED CUSTOMER

Food was delicious but be advised they don't have a drinks licence at the moment so soft drinks only. There is a bottle shop a few doors up though lol

Had an amazing dinner at Raj Pavilion Hull! The food was fantastic, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was lovely. The Chicken Tikka Bindalo, Garlic Naan, Onion Bhaji and Raj Lamb were all absolutely delicious. It was a bit on the pricey side (around £70-80), but worth every penny for the quality and taste. Highly recommend this restaurant for an authentic Indian dining experience!

Ordered by accident as I got our local name wrong, I'm glad I did, this was easily the best curry I have ever eaten in my life, the chicken balti naga was insanely tasty!!

This is a difficult one and such a mixed bag of comments. Construction going on outside makes it awkward to get into the place but thats not their fault. The interior is top class. They have put a lot of effort into it. The service was also top class. Where I was let down a bit was the food but not with everything. The chutneys and dips with the popadom were great and plenty full which you will see from the pics. Got a mixed platter for starters. It looked great but I thought elements of it were bland so lucky I had the dips. Overall it was fine. Now for the main dissapontment. The main course came out. Got a simple chicken madras with a roti. The rice was odd. I got a very small plate. No where near plentyfull for the curry I got. Just seems very odd to me. The curry was a bit too watery for my taste and some of the chicken was a bit chewy but got loads of it. Wasn't that hot for a madras. I am someone that likes to see some natural ingredients or at least taste them. In conclusion, like the restaurant, the vide but not crazy about the food but I would not avoid it. I feel, I too need to give it another chance because of all the positives.

Ordered them off Uber eats, the food was literally inedible, I can't believe I just wasted 20£

My daughter ate here and inadvertently got a parking ticket for parking in the car park nearby. I contacted the restaurant and the team were absolutely first class. They were very sympathetic and had the ticket cancelled the very next morning. Brilliant service. Service like that is so rare and is fantastic to experience. Thank you

Customer service was amazing, food was great and was fast. Raj pavilion, best Indian restaurant in Hull.

Had to wait two hours for food with no explanation as to why we were kept waiting. There was only our table and one other in the restaurant. Table service was poor and we were left without drinks and when the order was taken the time between courses was around 45 minutes. Staff seemed more bothered with online orders. Toilets were flooded which spilt right into the reception area where I slipped walking past. Both of the male toilets had sick in them. The restaurant was freezing cold even though I enquired about the heating twice. A really poor experience and the quality of the food was low. It was clear that the experience for our group and the other group in the restaurant was not what should be expected but the staff chose to ignore this and offer no reason for this. The cost was very expensive and the restaurant still had the cheek to charge full price for the meal when there were so many faults. I will not be going back, nor would I recommend going.

Came for a family meal, greeted politely by the staff and served one of the best lamb rogan Josh’s I’ve ever had. There is simply nothing bettter than Raj Pavilion when it comes to Hulls Indian cuisine. I am overjoyed by the service and the meal and the only thing I’m worried about is the fact that I may not ever feel the same happiness that the first mouthful bestowed upon me.

The staff were lovey, beers were cheap and the food was impeccable - if Hull were ever to lose the Raj Pavilion it would be worse for it. My children and my wife consider this the finest establishment they’ve ever visited.

I take the Mrs here all the time. Thoroughly enjoy every time I come and the food is excellent. Atmosphere is lovely and the staff are always willing to help. This has become a real romantic spot for me and my wife and I believe it's really helped repair our failing marriage

I ordered a takeaway over the phone for myself and my wife and it came to almost £50 which was more expensive than I expected. The next day I decided to check the prices on their website and found I was overcharged by about £5. When I rang them back and queried it I was told the prices are more expensive if I order direct over the phone!? There was no apology or anything just "goodbye". Also the order was wrong and they substituted my starter for a more expensive one which I guess also increased the cost. I've been using Raj for about 25 years and the quality was always very good but the last couple of times the meals haven't been anywhere near as good. They used to do some great melt in the mouth salmon curries but they're all gone too. Because I felt ripped off and didn't feel satisfied by their response I've decided they've lost my loyalty and I think I'll find a new curry house to order from in future. It really saddens me to post this bad review of what used to be my favourite place for a curry.

Lovely food, and fantastic costomer service.

We've eaten here for well over 20 years and rarely go anywhere else for either a takeaway or sit down meal. We visited a couple of weeks ago for the first time since what I assume is new ownership. The place suffers the misfortune of long term building work nearby, affecting the visibility and access to the property but don't let this put you off. Once through the door the decor and ambience is very nice and the welcome was as warm as usual. We enjoyed poppadoms, mains, rice and naan bread, all of which were excellent and was matched by the service. The prices are competitive too. The food we have had recently is generally a little spicier than before which is just a point to note when ordering if you haven't been for a while. I've had Indian food all over the country and when away from home and this lovely restaurant has rarely been bettered.

Awful everything... 2 chicken tikka mas (no rice) £30. Staff hanging up on my call. Rude manager, staff very apologetic but say they cant do anything because because the manager is out on deliveries... who when i call back answers the phone. Shocking and rip off.

We popped in tonight for a birthday meal and had a fantastic time. For the first half an hour we was the only people in the Restaurant which wasn’t a surprise for late on a Sunday, but the staff where absolutely FANTASTIC! We ordered too much as usual but thankfully could box it away. We cannot thank the staff enough for their amazing service. We will be back !

We visited the Raj Pavilion for the first time this evening and I can honestly say, hands down it was the best authentic Indian food I have ever had! The ambience, customer service and quality of food was outstanding. The menu was very reasonably priced and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Highy recommended and will definitely be visting again soon!

Some family members turned up unexpectedly, wife just finished work and was tired ordered a take away and had it delivered, great tasty freshly cooked food, tried the devdas and stuck to the usual madras and jalfrezi all tasted nice and well balanced abc spiced, yes the kids had kurma and they loved it too, highly recommended

Honestly, founding an Indian restaurant in Hull ( an old small city of UK, far from London) was not at all my expectation. But when I found it, I definitely wanted to visit to meet my craving for Indian food😋. Though from the outside it’s not looking that much fancy, but when I entered, I became so happy that can’t express in words. Ambiance is too nice with obviously some slow Hindi music playing in background.☺️ I was not sure about food(as most of the restaurant always make fusion & finally lost authenticity), so order small quantity to taste. But after having food I was just overwhelmed. Returned back next day to take again some Indian dishes🫢😉 Also another must say point is - I was so so happy to see that apart from me all the people having food here were non Indian 🤷🏻‍♀️ Highly recommended for Indian food.

Food arrived lukewarm. Tikka was very salty and the chicken wasn’t fresh. Absolutely un edible. Called to make them aware and they couldn’t speak English, there English was excellent when they took the order. I will never used again 🤮

I went to rag pavilion 2 times in the same weeks because there food was amazing the service was great and the staff members was really kind, I am a fussy eater and they made my food so that I would enjoy it and I really did, me and my partner loved going there and will definitely be going there again

Good food, but they don't help people who really needed to during an emergency situations. One of my friend badly needed a job but he didn't provide him the job. It was around 2019-2020. They just gave excuses like there is no work, so they can't provide any jobs.

Under new management and the most appalling customer service. Front of house very rude, the guy just stared at us and we had to make the first move and asked to be seated. No dine in customers and I am not surprised. The waiter couldn’t speak a word of English. I used to love this place but now I will never visit again. Didn’t stick around and walked out before we even got a menu.

We orderd at 5.30pm via just eat. We waited until 7.30 befor ringing to see were food was to get a reply that they hadnt seen our order come through yet she was quick to point out our address. To add salt the takeaway then didnt turn up untill near 9pm at and to top it the order was wrong and quality of food poor. Ive been using raj for 15 years plus along with family and its been great but since a change of management its gone really down hill. Last two/three orders have been wrong or of a poor quality and if that wasnt enough they have put the prices up a fair bit. To say im not impressed is an understatement and will be looking for a new curry house that offers better customer service

Absolutely delicious Indian food with some lovely twists for a memorable meal. Staff are really accommodating and flexible. A little noisy at times but I guess it's popular!

Terrible delivery service, was told 50 mins for delivery it’s over an hour 30 still no food, they claimed the driver got lost! When told them will post a review they said they don’t care!

Well for a start, customer service is very low key. Turned up with my wife and one guy was on the phone and another sorting paperwork out. We stood there for 10 mins before an English lady said she'd be a few minutes. So seated us OK and gave us menus. Instantly we were asked what drinks did we want and if we wanted poppadoms. Not yet to them and could we have a wine list. The restaurant wasn't busy, so I ordered a draught beer and a bottle of wine. We were then asked for our order, we said give us 10 minutes as it's a big menu. OK, then we gave our order. So the poppadoms came with the pickles. The lime, chopped onion and a jam. Nothing particular for 2 quid. Well food wise, my saag paneer tasted of honey or something very sweet which isn't normal. My special was tonnes of spinach with lamb and it did taste ok. My wife had biriani and rice. Well, it was a mountain of rice and very little else. The prawns in the rice were Well overcooked and like rubber. Very heavy on the chillies too. Three other couples came in and just had chicken korma and tikas so I guess they're OK. For my wife and I, it wasn't that good and yes, there is 30% off but we left 30% of the food. Didn't ask for the leftovers for takeaway. Would I go back, no. Nor my neighbour who tried to say don't bother !!. This place needs to gee up its front of house and maybe cut its menu in half (even more) and do a better job. Quantity over quality doesn't work. There are better places just as close.

Nice food but manager/owner never seems happy to see people. I've been 10 times and more than half the occasions there are extra little surprises on the bill. For this reason i just don't feel comfortable giving my money any more. Sad. Thanks. James.

Mouth watering food. Good menu to choose from especially if one of your group doesn't like the hot stuff! Staff welcoming and reasonably priced.

Excellent food and great choice. Plenty of space for large groups and welcoming, unintrusive staff who give you plenty of time to settle in and choose your meals even at the busiest of times. Really good value. Well worth a visit.
