Spice Bros in Brighton and Hove

First time we ordered from here and we’ve finally found a decent Indian takeaway! Food was delivered quickly and nice and hot too. The Korai was delicious and the free popadoms were a nice touch also. Will be ordering again soon.

I had a few meals from this place, it always have been very good and tasty. But last night I ordered a vegetable curry with rice. The food was looking rushed in result, I was up all night with food poisoning, we will never return again after that for sure.

I used to love spice bros but the quality is now terrible. Chicken tasted boiled and was extremely dry and chewy, flavourless. Dansak was horribly sweet. My partner's curry had what looked like a whole bottle of red food dye in it. Rice was greasy and clumped together. Really poor. Shame and sad to see.

I don't have dine in experience here but I always buy takeaway from this place. The best takeaway Indian place I've ever tried! Superior than others in Brighton so far, and better than those in London. The meal is super delicious; we ordered lamb chops, del curry, aloo gorbi, king prawns puri, and tandoori chicken so far. There was nothing wrong with any of the dishes; the portions were generous. The order received quick and fast so the service is excellent. In addition to the extremely affordable price, you can get 20% off orders over £30. Kudos to the owner and the cooks. Try this takeaway place and you'll stick with this ever.

5 pieces of chicken swimming in a far too sweet Korma-ish sauce and a scoop of cold rice... £13... Very very sad... The only positive note: the waitress was very nice.

Very tasty curry, particularly love the Dansak! Great for vegetarians too, you can select Paneer in pretty much any curry. Lots of vegan options. Haven’t dined in the restaurant, but ordered for delivery a few times and the drivers are always friendly.

Awful experience. Curries were too oily and we did not enjoy. We got 3 curries in total all 3 of them were no good and tasteless. The delivery driver had a terrible attitude also - she refused to get out of the car and we ended up walking around in the rain looking for her. Awful experience and would not recommend.

Just discovered this place and obsessed! Portions are huge and everything was so flavorful, my partner got the chicken tika masala and loved it I got the naga, which is a super spicy dish and it was perfect, the right amount of heat! Actually typing this waiting for them to open for delivery.

Ordered a takeaway on Monday it was so good we went back on the Tuesday, which, for us is unheard of as we prefer to try different things whilst away. Great….. no superb food, lovely staff and a real gem. If you don’t try this place whilst in Brighton and you love Indian food you’ve missed a treat.

Terrible ordering system, huge delays, rude customer service. Don’t go here. And as it appears - incredibly overpriced (ordered exactly the same food from another great curry house at almost half the price!). What exactly are we paying for?

The food was absolutely fantastic! We had a great dinner, the menu offers tons of delicious choices - and lots of vegetarian options- with the flavors being amazing. The portions were generous - in particular given the very reasonable prices. Best of all: The service was super efficient and really fun. We highly recommend the Spice Bros and certainly will be back.

I used to rate this restaurant very highly and it quickly become our favourite for a takeaway but the last few times we've ordered it's been very sweet and oily and just nowhere near as good as it was. The last time we ordered we both had very upset stomachs the next day. I emailed the restaurant to let them know and didn't hear back. Won't be going back unfortunately.

We really love this place- its freshly prepared, (no jar sauces) very well cooked classic Indian curry. We recommend Spice Brothers for curry lovers.

I ordered via just eat. The delivery driver called when he was in the vicinity of my flat and told me to come to the car park to collect my food (which is about 5 mins from my flat) as he could not get a car park. I live in the Marina so it’s impossible to not get a car park. I explained to him very amicably that i have a baby and I’m alone with the baby so I could not walk that far in the night to collect the food. I politely told him exactly where I am and the lift will take him straight to my floor. Approximately Twenty minutes later and still no food…. I called back the driver who told me he was still looking for a park. Again I explained to him where he can park for a few mins. Even Mc Dondalds opposite my flat had spaces as I can see their car park from my balcony so I told him he can park for 5 mins there and come up with the flat. He rudely told me again to come to his car for the food. I again told him I couldn’t. So I phoned the restaurant and the girl who answered was very understanding, however, the owner then came on the phone and accused me of yelling at his driver and when I told him the situation and explained that I couldn’t go to the car park as I’m alone with my baby and it’s a few mins walk in the chilly night, he called me a liar and said he will never believe me over his driver. He continued to be rude and roughly told me to never order from him again. He then proceeded to tell me it must have someone home with me as the food I ordered was not for one person. Imagine this man had the audacity to question the amount of food I ordered!!! he then hung up the phone while I was speaking, I’ve ordered and are from hundreds of restaurants around the world and I never received this type of treatment…. Well he didn’t need to tell me to not order from him again because I certainly will not give a penny to this man again…. God does not sleep and what you do to others will come back to you!!! PLEASE STAY AWAY…

Really exceptional quality of food - didn't expect it to be so good considering the reasonable prices. Excellent staff who were extremely friendly, nice spacious restaurant with lots of seats, clean and modern atmosphere. Highly reccomnend the tandoori chicken and the home baked naan.

AVOiD!!! I've been to many restaurants up and down the country this has got to be one of the worst I've been to... The food lacked flavour and seemed microwaved and my drink was flat but the worst part was the way I was spoken to and the awful customer service. The didn't offer to replace my drink instead he just tried to justify it and was very rude about. I can see know why the restaurant was empty.

Food came hot and the curries were both good (we had madras). This is also one of few places in Brighton that allows for paneer in many of classic curries, so good for veggies. Spice bros is exactly what you want from a takeaway curry night - leaving us full and happy.

Group of 3 of us placed an order for collection. Food was ready on time and reasonably priced. All the dishes were flavoursome and well balanced, nothing overpowering. All of us thoroughly enjoyed and would order again.

I read the previous reviews on here - my experience is a good one - food arrives at my door within 45 mins, it’s as it should be - perfect temperature and really delicious. Curry houses all have their own take on dishes but I really like their take on chicken Kachan. Lamb chops are succulent not at all dry, the naga wings are all about flavour. I went through one and thought ‘it’s not that hot!’. I’m glad I ordered two tubs of yoghurt. It’s a good, healthy heat. Totally satisfied and very happy with the price too. Two free popadoms.. plenty left for tomorrow as well. Thank you!

I’ve had lots of takeaways from here during lockdown and the food is always plentiful and very good but I was disappointed with my order tonight as the onion bhajis were completely inedible as overcooked and rock hard. The rest of my order, although tasty as ever, was not very hot and yet my order arrived 15 minutes earlier than expected. Overall bit disappointing as not up to usual standard but will order from them again as usually extremely good!!!

They got my delivery order wrong so I phoned up to politely request a replacement. It was a Saturday night so I assumed it was busy, mistakes happen and I didn't mind waiting, however they then phoned me back and accused me of lying about it. I heard a member of staff on the phone referring to me as "some white man" - I happen to be mixed race - and when the manager came to the phone he started swearing at me when I asked him to apologise for calling me a liar. He refused to rectify the wrong order and then refused my request for a refund, even after acknowledging that the order was wrong - looking through the other reviews it seems this is a recurring problem. The most despicable behaviour I've ever experienced from a restaurant. Avoid at all costs. P.S - I returned 2 days later and posted the wrong order, in it's entirety, through their letterbox. Yeah, that was me. I hope the manager cleaned it up himself.

We’ve been searching for a really good takeaway curry in Brighton and Hove for ages. This is the best so far. Really tasty and not greasy. We had the prawn dansak, vegetable balti and the paneer shashlik. All comes with rice and poppadoms included. Tasty and spicy. Would be nice for a takeaway curry place to really do some good vegetable main dishes which aren’t just a mix of general veg in the same sauces. Still sad to see salad in a plastic box. I have never known anyone to want cold salad with hot curry and I think it’s such a waste of food and plastic. Maybe put it at checkout as a complimentary option to choose but not just automatically add it. Will be ordering again to try more :-)

Just had time for some food before I had to be at a gig. It’s just round the corner from where I live. Quite simply for what I paid & for the service I should have been coming here years! 10/10

I went to Spice Bros for a works do this week, and had an amazing time. The food was delicious, I had a sweet chilli chicken starter, madras, rice and naan, and it was delicious. The starter in particular was stand out, but the madras was also delicious with a lot of flavour rather than just heat. There was a real range of meals on our table and all plates were cleared, with one of our guests deciding to order a takeaway to bring back to his wife. The staff were really nice, laid back but very attentive. There is a really nice vibe. I look forward to going here again next time I am in Brighton and would def recommend to friends and family!

Tonight I dined at Spice Bros, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I stepped in, we were greeted with warm hospitality. The service was top-notch, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who guided me through the menu and made excellent recommendations. Now, let's talk about the food. The menu boasted a wide array of authentic Indian dishes, each bursting with rich and aromatic spices. I had the Chicken Chilli Fry for starters, which was spicy, sweet and sour Chicken Tikka strips cooked with mango chutney, lemon zest and chillies, followed by the Chicken Tikka Korai, a medium spiced dish cooked in a thick sauce with peppers, onions, garlic and tomatoes. The naan bread was freshly baked and had a delightful pillowy texture. All the food was amazing and I will definitely be a returning customer!

First time out in Bright for a while.. fancied a curry tonight and boy I wasn’t disappointed. These guys made food better than what I tasted on my travels over India. Hydrobadboy (my own name) Biriyani. Insane quality . Recommend - spicy option available too! Boom. I came - and got conquered! Happy days.

Always absolutely delicious food - and on a Mon-Thu the deal is unbeatable. The mixed starter is an amazing indication of what’s to come. The staff are always lovely too!

Never not had a bad meal from here. We love it. I think we’re actually working our way through the menu. We tell all our friends. Currently we’ve settled on paneer shaslik, we’re not vegetarian, I highly recommend it, then we choose our own sauce dependant on how we feel. The paneer comes slightly charred, giving it a lovely crisp. We are of the opinion it’s the best Indian food in Brighton

Absolutely ridiculous. I’m staying at a hotel and ordered via Just Eat. Spice Bros deliver themselves and don’t have GPS tracking. After a long time of it being marked as out fir delivery, I called them and they told me they waited outside and I never came out, so they took it back to the restaurant. They never went inside the lobby to tell the front desk that they were there, which I had already called down to let them know I was expecting a delivery. That they just waited outside and left lacks basic common sense. Avoid. -------- As a reply to their response: I've stayed in dozens of hotels, I've never had an issue with one accepting deliveries. I've even had deliveries here at this hotel. Plus, I had called the front desk to let them know to expect you. Unfortunately, I never expected you'd have your driver just stand outside and wait instead of taking the two steps to the front desk. I'm a tourist with a US number, so maybe that's why you couldn't get ahold of me. But again, your driver is at the hotel, is trying to call me, can't get ahold of me... common sense says to go inside and ask for them to call to my room. And when I called at 20:20, 31 minutes after the order was marked for delivery, which I thought was long enough to prompt a call for a 6 minute car ride/12 minute bike ride, you were incredibly unhelpful and offered no resolution. So who's at fault here, you ask? I guess I'll leave that up to those that read through a restaurant's reviews before they order.

The owner was extremely rude and offensive. When we went for dine in, the whole place was empty and untidy with a lot of just eat bags scattered around. The owner told us we were not allowed to share any dishes and had to order separately. His tone was highly offensive and abrasive and we immediately left the place because of his tone. 0/10 would go back again.

Just absolutely amazing Indian food. I’ve ordered probably 20 times (sorry it took so long to review) and it’s always been phenomenal. Have eaten at so many Indian restos and this is one if not the best classic Indian takeaway places. The menu is vast but nothing disappoints even if you try new things each time. Booked last minute dine in, food was really lovely , tasty and plenty of it. Staff was spot on knowing when to come to you and when to leave you alone. Definitely will be back when next in brighton.

Visited at lunch time during the week and had the 2 meal deal for around £9 which was really good value for money and very tasty. The waiter was very friendly and was very accepting when members of our party of 10 showed up later so he had to wait to take the overall food order. However, at the end they refused to allow us to pay separately by cash and so we all had to pay separately by card which was fine but it wasn't made clear as to why. Would definitely recommend for the friendly atmosphere and good food.

Extensive menu with something for all the family. We went with our daughter son in law and grandchildren and everyone enjoyed a well presented and very good meal. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would certainly recommend the restaurant

Wow! Easily one of the tastiest Indian takeaways we have had IN A LONG TIME! We had a selection of dishes (vegetable korma, prawn balti, some paneer) and each one was outstanding. The food was not over-sauced, over-spiced or over ghee-d….we will be back again.

We visited this restaurant yesterday evening (6/1/23) as we are in Brighton for my Birthday. Although it was very quiet for a Friday evening, this was due to it being the first week of January and a rather wet evening. You could tell how popular it was due to the number of collections being prepared for Just Eat deliveries. We were provided with free Poppadoms and sauces on arrival and given a very warm welcome by the young lady who served us and was friendly and very attentive throughout. The food was plentiful, hot and deliciously cooked. My curry came with rice or Nan bread included - more often than not you have to pay for these as sides or extras. The restaurant is modernly decorated and very comfortable. Would thoroughly recommend and would definitely visit again when next in Brighton. 5 stars for service, value for money and the quality of the food.

We dined in here for the first time today, and the first thing we picked up on was the style and atmosphere: not great. With the blue/purple light along the wall and the overall setup, we found this place lacking style and a cosy atmosphere. And I agree with Alan’s comments made a month before this review that the pile of Just Eat delivery boxes look wrong inside the restaurant. What is good is that the restaurant layout is such that people dining in don’t mix with the take-away customers. Then the food…that was something else! Everything we ordered was just beautiful. What a delightful meal we had. We also enjoyed the service: friendly, efficient and discreet, but fun. All a great experience. Would I be back…don’t know. How about working on hiding those delivery boxes; with a bit of creativity and determination I don’t believe it can be that hard.

A new experience for me. Squirted with cleaning fluid by a waiter muttering I had 15 minutes to eat up and leave and then he pretended to be the owner when I phoned up to discuss it. Food is ok but focussed on takeaway judging by the orange bags dotted around the restaurant.

Bad customer service likes to swear 🤬 at customers online orders a joke when u call to ask bout a order that u placed 2 hrs ago and still no delivery definitely not be ordering or eating there again and will tell people not to eat there.😡😡😡😡😡

We’ve had a lot of curry takeaways in our lives and the one we’ve had tonight tops the lot of them. The king prawns were like Langoustines, lamb chops were delicious and the curry spices were blended to perfection. Also lots of vegan options on offer. We will be back.

Lovely food and excellent service. The only negative I have is the huge stack of "Uber Eats" delivery bags there was stored all over the tables (at least 25). It took the ambience away and at times felt like you were dining in the store room instead of a smart Indian Restaurant. I recommend these bags are stored out of sight in the back. Very friendly waiter thank you.

Awful experience. food took forever to arrive and was luke warm. The curries were swimming in oil and had little flavour to them, the bread was not freshly cooked and the salad that was in a greasy plastic container was browning . Very disappointed overall and i would also point out that the owners were, again, very rude as braddersmeladdas pointed out in his review.

Awful took £50 from my account before they told me that my order would be 45 minutes later than the initial delivery time. Cancelled my order and now have to wait 3-5 days to get my money back. Really frustrating and disappointing.

Ordered this waste of my evening on Deliveroo. Had to apologise to my local Shahi Tandoori on the adjacent road behind on Beaconsfield Road for flirting with this overpriced trash. Watery Chicken Tandoori Bhuna with little gravy that had no taste or flavour. Brittle, hard, cold and stale tasting Bhaji. Greasy, oily Naan. Only thing edible was the Pilau Rice and that was of the most basic and bland kind. When I phoned the restaurant the manager challenged me on every point and offered no remorse or apology and was in fact quite rude. I packaged the order back up, drove down and handed it back to them over the counter showing them the absolute dross they charged me for on principle as I could not bare to feel ripped off and disrespected at the sheer sight of their slop. I then walked across the street adjacent to my local Shahi to apologise as I felt I cheated on them who always offer me great service and a consistently good quality and delicious, well made product. Spice bros are a waste of time with a chip on their shoulder. I’d be doing my upmost to keep my customers happy during challenging times and try to accommodate them not be rude and bad mannered.

Awful customer service. Curry didn't arrive . Rang restaurant and the owner refused to confirm if we would get our money back. Update- owner has now said we could have a refund but it took a long phone call. No apology was made and we were made to feel that we were lying. Refund only offered after we advised that we were trusted customers. 17 orders in the last year. £600 spent. Looking forward to now saving this.

I Ordered a takeaway Friday evening From Deliveroo at 7:30 two hours later food never arrived and they didn’t refunded the money . They were extremely rude about it and I will definitely not recommend them to anyone or ordering anything from them again.

Good Indian restaurant in Preston Park. My friend and I rather stumbled on this place. From the outside, it doesn't look promising, sandwiched as it is between two rather scruffy shops. But inside it is much better. Popadoms were crisp and fresh and were served with a good selection of pickles. I went for the meal deal. My starter was lamb cooked in lemon and served with salad. It was beautifully tender and tasty. For main, I had chicken jalfrezi, which was powerful and flavoursome without being overpowering. With a side dish and rice or nan included, and with a bottle of Cobra, the bill was only just over £20 a head, which is excellent value. The service is efficient and friendly.

Absolutely amazing place, the food was impeccable, the staff are very friendly. Our waiter Moe was brill as well, helpful with meal selection and smiles everywhere. Highly recommend the sweet chilli prawn starter, it’s out of this world.

Second time ordering delivery from here. First was fantastic. Second was not good. Really disappointed. Very bland, greasy and slightly bitter in taste.

We have been using Spice Bros for years now, but last night they delivered meat-filled samosas when we ordered vegetable ones. We have both been vegetarian for over a decade now, and this mistake wasn't realised until we had bitten into the samosas. Both of us were put off our meals as a result of this and won't be using Spice Bros again. I didn't bother to ring up to complain as the samosas cost £4 and we will instead just stop using them completely (and I'd seen the other reviews re: lack of customer service and decided I didn't want to deal with someone rude after what had been a very long day).

It just wasn’t the best curry I have ever had it was up there with one of the best meals I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten in some amazing restaurants plus Michelin star ones. There is no where else I will ever get a curry...
