Amazing food and great atmosphere!

Naz was a very professional waiter. We had an issue with our reservation date via The Fork, but the restaurant was very understanding. Amazing service — would definitely come again!

First of all, it's not an Indian resto. It's Bangladeshi, pretending to be Indian. Waiters have a bad attitude and charge you incorrectly. Would not recommend or return.

Came from Lincolnshire for this and it was worth the trip. Rajal looked after us and food and wine selections were so very good.

I booked a table for two just 30 minutes before arrival, so I wasn’t surprised they didn’t have my name down—fair enough. After showing my email confirmation, the greeter asked us to wait. Within a few minutes, we were shown to our table, and at that point, things seemed promising. Unfortunately, that changed quickly. It took 30 minutes just to place our order. Waiters were walking around chatting with each other and seemed uninterested in attending to customers. Despite making eye contact with one and asking to order, he simply walked past. Eventually, I had to flag down the greeter again, who then sent someone over. When the food finally arrived, I initially thought things were back on track. But the chapati was undercooked—part of it was actually raw and completely inedible. The chicken dish, on the other hand, was overcooked and tough - it really was from one extreme to the next. Trying to get a waiter's attention again was nearly impossible. Most of them were focused on setting up tables for the next day rather than serving the customers who were still dining. After another 30-minute wait, I finally managed to speak to someone. The waiter didn’t seem to understand what I meant by the chapati being raw, so he brought over a colleague. They asked why I hadn’t said something earlier, but I explained that it was almost impossible to get anyone’s attention, and I didn’t want my curry to go cold. They dismissed my comment about the overcooked chicken entirely. For the portion size I would definitely say it is overpriced. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. The staff need to prioritise the experience of paying customers rather than preparing for the next day’s service.

Good food with amazing service. We were the first dinner customers at 5:30 so had the attention of multiple staff.

Imagine the best curry you’ve ever had, and then make it just a bit better and you’ve got the experience of The India at Monument. Lovely food with loads of flavour. Attentive staff and just a generally lovely experience. Shumon was our waiter and nothing was too much trouble. The food was beautifully cooked without a hint of the greasiness you sometimes get with Indian food. Genuinely wonderful.

Possibly the best Indian food we’ve ever had, it was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. The atmosphere and service were great. Kudos to our server Rajal who provided excellent food recommendations and wonderful service.

Restaurant ist im Verhältnis zur Umgebung angemessen. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich. Die Speisekarte ist gut und das Essen sehr lecker. Ein bisschen aufpassen muss man beim Preis, baut sich aus verschiedenen Positionen schnell auf. Die Soße und Brot extra ist Recht teuer im Verhältnis zur Hauptspeise.

Liton was our server and was amazing nice gave us a round of free drinks for birthday celebration and chocolates food was fabulous and pretty quick would definitely recommend if your in central London

Everyone was so nice and accommodating! Liton and the crew went above and beyond to make us comfortable, including making my cranky child smile and laugh. Chicken biryani was the best i’ve ever had!! Would for sure come back

Great restaurant tucked down a side street in the City. Very good food and friendly staff. Decent drinks list and some great special menus. Could do with air con.

Love this place. Food is always excellent.

Food was meh..the lamb pieces in tandoor platter was like old rubber and not consumable..When we raised this with the waiter he just checked it by poking at it and taking it back .no 'sorry' no 'we will get it replaced'..Kulfi was served on a flat plate making it difficult to consume..common sense is it put it in a stick or a bowl...Pathetic food and service.. Atmosphere is ideal if you want to get a alcoholic high..literally no visibility thro lighting in a room already in the basement without windows..couldn't even take pictures Menu is priced to fleece gullible tourists.. Tandoori platter(minimum order 2) lamb tikka,fish tikka,etc 11.00 pounds..how will I understand this? 2 orders of 11 pounds which will have how many pieces of the items described? Restrooms on Indian unreserved coaches were cleaner than the cesspool in this restraunt.. avoid this place

This place was AMAZING. Food perfect and service was impeccable- if you’re in the area, you owe it to yourself to go here. They could have added another 0 onto the bill and I would happily pay it. You will not be disappointed.

Had dinner at The India – Monument. The experience was okay overall. The food had familiar flavours, and some dishes reminded me of well-made Bangladeshi-style cuisine.

The food was nice but the service was terribly slow. After asking a couple of times we finally got our main courses over 1hr 30 mins after we arrived. Afraid we will be going back to the Rajastan around the corner next time. Only a party of four so no excuse for how slow it was, the kitchen clearly couldn’t cope and it wasn’t even full!!

The food was delicious and they gave us suggestions of what we could eat that met our expectations or even exceeded them. we were also able to try two wines before selecting a bottle and the atmosphere was both unexpected with its tiger theme and welcoming to not be part of the tourist throng. Nice little extras thrown in such as warm towels at the end of the meal, a chocolate with the check and maybe if you’re lucky a free after dinner drink.

We had pre booked for a table of 9. The restaurant was surprisingly busy for a Monday night. The service was a little slow. We had to wait to be served our drinks and take a food order. We did have to chase them up a few times for service, however the food made up for it. We would definitely recommend the food here and we would come back. I was a bit disappointed in the state of the ladies toilet

Definitely not a 4.7. Expected way more of Indian food in Londen. Been eating through out whole world and this was below average! Butter chicken tasted blend and the mix tandoori waant also Spiced well . Also the chicken was very chewy. I do think they are producing a lot of fake reviews daily to get a 4.7. I would not recommend this place for one time Indian food in Londen. I think you ll find better place with genuine flavours if you ask locals.

Service by Naz was great and very friendly. I had a South Indian garlic chilli chicken curry which was amazing. The cheesy naan was about the size of our plate and one of the best nan I've ever had.. not large heavy and stodgy but light and fluffy.. I would travel.from Wakefield back down to London just to eat here again. Thankyou "the Indian 3" for some great food

Menu can kind of be confusing. Butter chicken was okay but garlic naan lacked flavor and was a bit under done to my liking. Lamb tikka was dry. Not bad but not good. Servers werent very friendly either

November 2024 to try we were there for lunch, very good, we opted for the set menu1, lamb tikka masala which was applause, we didn't take the desserts, we were full, but we saw that other customers had ordered and finished them.

Probably the nicest curry I've had in London, the restaurant has an old style feel which felt similar to The Ivy. Rajal and Batchu provided great service, the staff were very tentative.
