The food was really good and I would highly recommend. The staff were also very nice. I would suggest indulging in the veggie burger as well as the chilli paneer.

Portions were big and quite cheap, so you won’t leave hungry, but that was the worst indian food I’ve ever eaten. Except for creamy paneer, every dish was bland. The lentil soup tasted like water with turmeric. Won’t recommend to eat here.

It's quite busy and not the cleanest place I've ever been to but the food was quite tasty and reasonably priced.

I spotted this address while looking for an Indian restaurant, when I arrived I hesitated, it didn't look like much, once I took the step the experience was full of flavors!! It's a canteen where you choose what type of plates you want (the number of dishes that will make up your platter), all the dishes are made with 100% Vegetarian and Vegan ingredients for some, I opted for the large plate to taste lots of dishes in one and well I was transported!! Each portion had a unique taste, a flavor of its own, all well controlled from spices to spicy curry... It's really perfectly balanced giving sensations in the mouth! I enjoyed it and even more, I was transported in taste! The young women who work there are really adorable with their warm smiles! A faultless one for my part.

Jai Jagannatha Unbelievable experience. This was my first visit to London and never expected such a divine atmosphere in London. The moment you step in to restaurant, the aroma of prasad instantly reminded me of food prepared in temples in Odisha. The peace of mind this place while having food is unparalleled. Food quality is best for a vegetarian. cannot expect better elsewhere in Europe. Would love to visit here everytime to have darshan of Shri Jagannath and have prasad.

服务员种族歧视，千万不要来！ I (East Asian, F) took my friend (White, F) there and I was COMPLETELY IGNORED by waiter. Don’t wanna bring race into this but I struggle to find another explanation. So my friend and I sat in front of each other. At first, the waiter came to ask how the food was, talking only to my friend. I didn’t think much. After we finished, he asked only my friend if he could take away the our trays. I was like umm okay? He then gave only my friend the printed QR code for reviews. At this point, it was getting really weird. A few minutes later, he came over again asking us to leave because there were people waiting for a table which we didn’t mind - this was not the problem. Like the previous interactions, again, the whole time he was only looking at my friend and talking to her exclusively as if I didn’t exist at all. I felt completely ignored as a customer and a human being. It was extremely disrespectful and dehumanising to be treated like air. After we left, I brought it up with my friend and she also confirmed and validated my feelings and said that it was really obvious that the waiter straight up ignored me and that she felt really confused and awkward about the situation. I know this place has high ratings which was why I chose to try it in the first place but I will never come back to this place again after this horrendous experience.

Nice dinning experience with wide range of vegetarian food

If you have a crave for veg or vegan food with authentic Indian taste. I can’t recommend enough for Govinda’s food. Delicious food, more than enough quantity to fill your hunger. Go for it guys. I had “The Deluxe Thali” that costs £13.95 and I bought additional Butter Milk plus samosa (not in picture). Cherry on cake is, you can visit the Radha Krishna temple and have some peace of mind too.

The portion of the food is good. Taste is nice. And the price is very affordable!! Highly recommend if you live or visit London.

The cheese lovers plate is only 8 quid and was more than enough. Lovely food, great portions, with amazing extras on to choose from. If you come here and do not get the aloo tiki...go home

***For the attention of restaurant management*** Hare Krishna, I have been coming to this restaurant for a number of years and have never complained about the substandard service as this is supposed to be a Krishna conscious establishment. However, my most recent experience was the tipping point, and therefore, I have forced myself to write this public review as I cannot sit in silence whilst you serve inadequate food in the name of Lord Krishna and tarnish the reputation of ISKCON. My favourite item on the menu used to be the lasagne. However, during my visit on 11/02/2025, I ordered the lasagne and I was served a lukewarm dish, which after consumption, left me feeling nauseous and suffering from gastrointestinal discomfort. It is simple food safety knowledge that food should be reheated until it is piping hot to kill harmful bacteria, but the staff here obviously lack this basic knowledge. I arrived at the restaurant at opening time hoping to be served fresh, hot food, but instead I was served a poorly presented plate of cold, stale food. As a follower of Sanatan Dharma who avoids onion and garlic, I thought that eating Prasadam at Govinda's and hence, supporting the Hare Krishna Mandir next door, would be the best thing to do during my day out in London. However, I left the restaurant feeling nauseous and wishing that I ate elsewhere. Another issue that I have to bring up is the way your staff treat customers. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE emphasise to your serving staff the importance of customer service skills. On every occasion I have ordered from Govinda's, the staff rush my order and I've found myself forced to leave the queue and pay even though I haven't finished ordering. As a Krishna conscious establishment, your staff should be treating customers with the upmost politeness, patience, and respect. Cleanliness is also an integral part of Krishna consciousness, and I was shocked to discover that Govinda's only has a food hygiene rating of 4/5 on the Food Standards Agency website. For a restaurant that claims to cook food for Lord Krishna, I would expect the highest standard of hygiene. Sadly, I am not the first to experience these issues. Looking at other Google reviews, there are several comments regarding the awful customer service and serving of lukewarm, stale food at this establishment. Without a doubt, the restaurant generates significant revenue, and this money is obviously not being invested in ensuring that food is served to the highest standard. It wouldn't harm anyone to purchase hot plates and other appliances to keep food safe and warm before serving. Prasadam should be cooked and served to people with love and devotion, not making people feel sick and dissatisfied. My words cannot express how disappointed I am to see a Krishna conscious establishment in the heart of central London operating in this manner. I sincerely hope that my review reaches restaurant management, and that these critical issues are proactively addressed.

Absolutely delish! Top thalis, brilliant flavours and really good prices for what you get. Paired a Govinda's deluxe thali with a masala chai and mango lassi all for less than £20, can't argue! Arrive hungry, leave happy.

This restaurant is great for vegetarians! First of all, like Subway, it is a system where you order first, pay, and then sit down. I can't believe it's such a cost-effective restaurant in the UK. There was a bit of a spice smell, but it wasn't too bad, so I enjoyed it in moderation. The staff is friendly too!

Best banoffee pie I've ever had, huge slice containing lots of fresh banana. Nice mango lassi too, not too sweet. Restaurant was very clean and all the food looked and smelled amazing ! Will definitely be back to try the veg Thali.

Pineapple chutney was delicious I’m not a fan of coriander and it’s stirred into everything so didn’t eat anything except the chutney and popadoms …still satisfying and my group really enjoyed the food Bargain prices

What a gem of a place. Busy and popular, but still quick and efficient. Vegans, vegetarians and the gluten intolerant will enjoy their limited but tasty value for money menu.

The food was so amazing, don’t even have words to explain it, and the attention was also very good they are serving you always with love and you can feel it.

Homey vegetarian food and friendly service. My husband got The Govinda Thai but then wished he had gotten The Large like me because mine came with larger portions of vegetables. The seating area is small and busy (we went around 13:00 in December). They don't take bookings but since it's designed to be a place where you eat and head out (no lingering), the waits aren't long. The Hare Krishna temple is located next door.
