Amazing place, this comes from a long time enjoyers of Indian cuisine. We have received outstanding service by Sam the manager, a charming young man who took great care of us, made us feel welcome and provided amazing care way beyond anything else. The food is amazing, prices are very reasonable and the experience is a MUST!

London’s most hidden Indian gem. Tucked away in what feels like a bomb shelter the restaurant quickly overcomes this with course after course of delicious food. The service was amazing.

Waiters are extremely pushy, and repeatedly ask you if you’re ready to order, the second you sit down. 5-6 swarm you. They clearly want you in and out asap. Submitting a review was also heavily pushed. Food average. Nice setting.

So it was my birthday and we planned to go tower bridge to celebrate it and then we decided to eat in indian food. I have tried so many indian restaurant in uk , but never encountered this experience. In short WORST EXPERIENCE ! We were 4 and we decided to order starters first and see how is the taste and will then order main course but when the server came he strictly said we have to order main course all together. Plus , with the starters he said we have to order atleast for two person otherwise they can't make it for one ! Seriously????? With the main course also , they made us ordered main course for each person individually ! What a buisness plan 👏 when food came we literally laughed over the portion size 🤣 on top of it The taste oh my god ! Tasteless food , they literally don't know the authentic indian taste and the food is not worth of the single penny they are charging for it. Over priced food ! To all the customers who are planning to go and if you are searching in Google best indian food , please , please , please , don't opt for this place .. it's a scam ! There are lot of other restaurants around the tower bridge and London eye please go there.. skip this place at any cost. Also , they don't know what lemonade is 🤣 my friend ordered a lemonade , they gave him sprite in the name of lemonade... I ordered a diet coke they put the lemon in it hahahaha lemon is not in lemonade but in the coke. They knew that we are not liking the food so in the end they offered us their " on the house " . They were trying to bribe us. The total cost of our food was 147 pounds 🤣🤣🤣 reply: see how you got offended with the truth 🤣 also , you can't decide our budget to celebrate the birthday. It's our hard earned money so when someone is overcharging us we will say about it ! People can see how rude you all by reading your reply to my feedback. You and your team doesn't know how to provide customer services! Please learn and then run a business :) cheers

Found this little gem in the City by pure luck. Had a delicious meal in a quirky environment. We think it might have been a bomb shelter in a previous life. Staff friendly and efficient. Food was great. Stand out were the lamb chops and prawn puree.

Work rarely in London but when I do I tend to come here. Good food, pleasant and friendly staff and lovely old cellar atmosphere. Away from the mania of Cannon Street on an evening.

Absolutely the best Indian food in London. A must stop. Built in an old bomb shelter it creates an environment that is romantic and edgy. The staff is sensational and kind. The set menu is the best way to go if you are going. It offers an opportunity to try a lot of different options. Such a wonderful stop.

Lovely restaurant to have Indian food in London

In every capital we plan to visit an Indian restaurant. We planned beforehand to come here. And we are more than happy with the excellent food, the friendly staff, the gentle ambiance!

Because it's underground and the ceiling is low, sounds such as people's conversations echo, so it's noisy for people who like quiet shops. The mango curry with lamb, sweet naan with coconut, and curry shrimp are also delicious. I really liked all the flavors. I want to go again.

A hidden treasure in the city, amazing service and authentic dishes which were beautiful. Salim and Salman are the loveliest people and so accommodating. Will definitely be back x

Perfect lunch at The India … excellent food in a very interesting underground historic environment and the service was efficient, polite and attentive. My madras was really well balanced - perfect heat but also aromatic and flavorsome. The garlic naan was light and crispy. Such a great find.

It's my first time visiting the place. Ordered thali and some other dishes. Taste was authentic. Everything was perfect. But just one issue I found out- it's about the servers, specially the Supervisor guy has less knowledge about allergens. I hope the find some solutions.

After looking at many reviews during our visit from Canada in March, we came here to the location on College Street. The experience was so positive, in our return to London in September we had to come back. Unfortunately, we accidentally went to the location on Bridge Street and were quite disappointed in the food. Service was spot on, but the chicken and lamb were very tough. We chose this location on College and were treated to excellence. Please take a close look at your other location to bring up to the same great standard.

Fantastic food!!! This is the second time visiting from Canada and was not disappointed either time. Quality of the food is far superior than other Indian restaurants around. Will definitely return next time we are in London!

We had a delicious meal here! Solman was an excellent host and server. We order the Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, and Chicken Biryani. Everything was full of flavor. Highly recommend coming to The India if you’re in the area - for the food, the ambiance, and the service.
