Postbox is a real gem among Indian restaurants that can be found on the map of London. The owner and staff were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The atmosphere is fantastic and the food is amazing. The best Indian restaurant in West London. The lamb chops, the biriyani, samosas...oh my God! The quality is just amazing! Can't wait to go back! Highly recommended.

Went with the group of friends. Was the only indian in the group, my friends were also very knowledgeable about the food. Everyone had a good time – great service, authentic food, and an overall top evening. I am going to go there again soon.

Amazing food! I think it could be the best Indian curry I’ve ever had at London. Great service as well. Shoutout to the chef and the crew. Definitely will recommend this to all the curry lovers. (PS. The naan is fantastic as well.)

Very lucky to have this restaurant around the corner from me. The food is exquisite, menu perfectly curated and varied, the service is friendly and welcoming. I’ve been lucky enough to have dinner here a few times, as it’s so close to home, and order takeaways when feeling lazy. Have recommended to friends who don’t live in Barnes but have travelled here for the same wonderful experience.

Possibly the best Indian restaurant south of the river. Freshly made, moderately spicy food - good range of meat, fish and vegetarian. Beautiful piece of sea bass in a curry sauce. Excellent garlic and coriander naan and tasty purée of spinach with sweet corn. Highly recommended.

Really good food, relatively short menu for Indian cuisine - a really good sign! A mix of familiar and new to us dishes that all 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed. Great hospitality too. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and great value to boot.

My father and I had a wonderful meal at the postbox last night. The chef certainly knows what he is doing! The owner is very friendly and the price is more than fair. If you are looking for truly authentic Indian cuisine in London, you must go to Postbox!

We were coming to Riverside studios and wanted to head to a local restaurant nearby the postbox was highly reviewed! The service was impeccable with drinks orders being taken promptly and the host being very receptive to recommending food items. The food was unbelievable with it being proper authentic tasting food with good balance of spices! - very glad that we stumbled across this Indian and i will be recommending it to anyone in the area!

Outstanding food, service and price point. Went here for a bite to eat on Sunday evening and all I can say is wow. Small, but well curated menu, making the food so incredibly tasty. Will certainly be back again.

Gonna give it four stars across the board, very good restaurant. It's small and cosy and doesn't seat many. The menu is not huge and that's a good thing. I can't give it the full marks for several reasons. Firstly the service was a touch slow for a place that wasn't full. It took a very long time after the papadums for the starters to come. Secondly, the food was very good but could have been better. We had the beef croquettes and prawn starters and the chicken grill and pork vindaloo with rice and naan for mains. The naan and the chicken were excellent. The prawn starter was good but not enough prawn - only four. The sauce was interesting and tasty. The three sauces with the papadums were also very tasty. I think the beef croquettes and pork vindaloo were not meaty enough. You couldn't taste that they were even those particular meats. The sauce for the vindaloo was very good though. So, two out of the four dishes were not meaty enough in my opinion. I also have to say the portions are small. Perhaps a touch too dainty. For two men to have papadums nibble and two starters and two mains with rice and bread and not be completely full tell you a lot. You'll see when you come, the portions could do with being about 25-30% larger. Lastly, I'm sorry guys but you're a bit expensive. £66 for two people isn't cheap and we didn't even have drinks other than tap water. I would have been happy to pay £50-55, that's the true value of the meal. In terms of value for money it's a bit pricey but then Barnes is also a very nice area so we could have expected it.

Firstly a proud feeling my friend owns the restaurant !!!! The menu is well curated and Leo and team have done a fab job not only with re to food but also creating a soothing and pleasant ambience, having said that I’m not going to be biased with my review!!! Starters : crispy okra with pickled radish and tempered yogurt 5/5 must try and a great way to start the evening. Goan beef croquettes 5/5 must try Amritsari moong dal and kale pakoda 4/5 Chicken cafreal wings 5/5 must try Lamb chops 5/5 must try Highlight of them all was the postbox alloo chaat simply delicious - must try transported us to motherland no ratings here ~ you get it :) Mains: Malvani Kala mutton if you’re adventurous, however we loved it.5/5 Paneer Butter Masala soft and creamy 5/5 Sides : Malabar paratha and wild garlic naan Birthday well spent !!! Definitely going back…

Insanely good food at reasonable prices.

I absolutely love this restaurant! The atmosphere is cozy, homey and calm. The food can only be described as amazing! They’re very flexible and willing to teak the recipes (I wanted my paneer masala a bit on the milder side and they did not disappoint! It was perfect) The waiters are really nice and friendly. It’s an overall great place so if you’re nearby, or really far away, you should definitely check this place out.

Best Indian Restaurant south of the river. Menu is small which means that every dish has been perfected, the staff are incredibly accommodating and offer to explain every dish on the menu as it’s not your typical chicken tikka or chicken korma, just really authentic dishes, commonly found as Indian street food. The portion sizes are generous with enough to be able to take some home. I highly recommend the Xacuti Chicken, Lamb Tawa Biriyani, Dal Makhani and the wild garlic naan. The dishes are also perfect for sharing so you can try some of everything.

Best Indian food in London way way much better than any other Indian restaurant i have tried. For those who's missing Ghar ka kahna should also try...Amazing food..loved it...

We are lucky enough to live close to this outstanding restaurant. The food is, quite simply, exquisite. Everything is fresh, tasty, interesting and served with passion and pride. From the tangy dips served with the excellent poppadoms, to the unbeatable daal, biryanis, chicken, fish and lamb dishes, Postbox offers Indian fine dining at a fraction of the price you might expect. We are regulars and recommend 100%. Leo and his team are lovely people and so knowledgable about southwest Indian food. They deserve every success.

This was the best Indian food I tried in London so far. It was literally “hungry friendly” 😂✌🏻. The lamb biryani & the paneer were on another level! Definitely going back soon.

Genuinely one of the best Indian food experiences I've ever had. The fish curry, dal makhani, lamb chops, etc - everything was completely on point. Would absolutely recommend to anyone without hesitation

Fantastic Indian food. I had the Kashmiri Chicken Tikka and it was probably the best Chicken dish I ever had. The Biryani and Garlic Naan were very good as well. The staff was open and friendly and we had a great experience.

We ended up visiting on a whim and we’re so pleased we did. Such a delicious meal and friendly service. The aloo chaat was a revelation. My partner can’t stop raving about the lamb chop. The sorbet was light and flecked with little pieces of strawberry. And with a bottle of wine came in at under £90! If you’re on the fence about whether to book, just do it.

As a huge fan of Indian cuisine, I often go out of my way, even to different towns or countries, to find and try new and tasty restaurants. I'm proud to say that I have now found a new favourite Indian restaurant in Postbox. From the warm and welcoming staff to the innovative and culturally rich recipes, everything was perfect from start to finish. Had an excellent evening at Postbox for my wife's birthday 😀 Food was really, really good, our waiter was both friendly and helpful and the night was great all round. We ate loads and had a couple of drinks each - all came to about £45 a head including service so very reasonable too. Was a little quiet given it was a rainy Wednesday night but that didn't take away from the experience at all. I'd recommend dishes but don't think I need to as they were all delicious. Highly recommended!

Punching far above its weight for a small Indian/Goan/Portuguese restaurant in SW London. Superb food served with passion and pride. So happy to have this in my neighbourhood. Very friendly and inexpensive. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Go and visit.

Delicious! Not your average Indian menu. This is an authentic tour through dishes of the Indian west coast, primarily from Goa and to the south. The tandoor grills have a more North Indian feel. All the food was spiced authentically with no compromise. The Mangalore fish curry, chicken kebab and tandoori cauliflower were particular highlights.

I went to Post Box London last night following recommendations on Instagram it was excellent! I have been to many quality indian restaurants in my life and so am typically a very harsh critic however I could not find a flaw in any of the dishes provided last night. The cuisine is Goan with dishes from around that area. This means you’ll get dishes different to the standard Indian and the quality was so good. The owner used to work in JKS restaurants (Gymkhana, Trishna etc) so he knows a thing or two about quality. Simple menu, waiters are incredibly helpful if you need recommendations. The owner was incredibly passionate about the menu and tastes which is lovely to see. All dishes were stunning but our favourite was the fish curry. Highly recommend to those wanting a different style of Indian at top quality!

Only got takeaway but my goodness this was delicious. The menu is really well put together, am looking forward to going and eating in next time.

This is little cozy family run Indian restaurant in a very good location. We loved the every single food we have ordered and the service quality was perfect. All the dishes well presented and taste fresh. Wild garlic naan and bread pudding was the hit of our night but I must talk about the lamb; oh what was that 😍😍 perfectly cooked and marinated. They told us “every meat in the restaurant is marinated at least 48 hours and you really can feel it. Definitely try their Crispy Okra and Kale Pakora. If you are a fish lover Mangalorian Fish curry and Prawn Rechado was amazing 😻 Very good work guys 👌

Today we ordered Paneer Butter Masala, Old Delhi Butter Chicken and Wild Garlic Naan through Uber Eats. There was an issue with the driver, so I decided to pick up the delivery myself. The staff were friendly and ended up giving us a discount. The food was delicious. We will come back!

My wife had seen the reviews and suggested we try out this new Indian restaurant… it really didn’t disappoint! The food was amazing. 🥰😍 The presentation and portion size was to perfection - our favourite was the fish curry and their garlic naan! I also enjoyed tasting the new IPA beer from Cobra which was very nice. I’m already looking forward to visiting this place again. 😊

A group of us went and we tried nearly everything on the menu. The food was fantastic and came out at a nice pace, the service was great with the staff being extremely friendly. Can't say enough about how tasty the food was, incredibly flavoursome. Highly recommend and will be returning.

First visit to what sounded a promising new Indian restaurant near the Southern end of Hammersmith Bridge. It turns out to be not just promising but sensationally good. Papadums came with some unusual chutneys - a Goan-style mango & prawn for instance - all (including the papads) made on the premises & zinging with balanced flavour. Next, by some way the best biryani I’ve ever tasted: venison & berry, wonderful spicing punctuated by the sweetness & sourness of dried berries (cranberry?) complementing the robustness of the meat & cooled by an exquisite and again unusual pomegranate raita. Portion size somewhere between “generous” & “huge.” Mangalorean fish (salmon) curry & butter chicken were also reported to be excellent. A bread, butter & banana pudding with a caramel sauce & freshly grilled banana to finish was surprisingly light & uncloying, & a berry ice cream was stuffed with fresh fruit & clearly also chef made. Service was efficient & delightfully personable. Including service, bill came to about £40 pp. That also included drinks, which brings me to my sole criticism: drinks are overpriced. £7 a pint for beer is top end of bearable but too much for a nonalcoholic cocktail; & £50 for a bottle of Southern Italian wine that would be no more than £12 from any merchant or supermarket is plain extortion. However, all in all, a real find. Looking forward to a return visit soon - although I’ll be sticking to the beer.

Visited the restaurant after being recommended by friends and Postbox didn’t disappoint . The food here is amazing quality and I tried a few dishes from the menu. It was my first visit and definitely won’t be my last.

Charming restaurant with great food and amazing service. We loved all the dishes we ordered, but the aloo chaat, mangalorian fish curry and lamb chop are certainly dishes to remember! Definitely a place we would visit again.

This is a lovely South West London destination new Indian restaurant in Barnes serving authentic food which is hard to beat.Visited with friends after a game of cricket and was taken back 40 years ago to childhood memories of growing up on some of these local delicacies cooked by Mum & Aunts.The beef croquettes are soft,delicious and easy on the palate.The chicken caffarael which is a true Goan green spiced dish was lip smacking with a slight kick.The pork cheek vindaloo was tangy spiced in a deep orange colour which is typical of how it's done in Goa.The kebabs were juicy, succulent and tender.The Mangalore fish curry was delicious with fluffy rice.Washed it all down with some crisp chilled beers.Highly recommend for its quirky POSTBOX ambience along with excellent food and personable service.I believe you will enjoy it!

First visited around a month ago and the food was exceptional - a different league to other Indian restaurants in the area. Returning for our anniversary next week and very much looking forward to it.

We ate here for the first time last night. A delightful experience - interesting dishes all beautifully cooked and spiced. Had a lovely chat with Leo who explained the concept behind some of the dishes. He gave us a small portion of his bread and butter pudding to sample - what a treat! It was delicious. Although the menu is small , he assured me there will regularly be new dishes to try. We will definitely be returning for these. The mutton curry was one of the tastiest Indian dishes I have ever eaten. Can’t wait to return.

This Indian restaurant is must visit. I am not big fan of Indian food in UK because of age old way of preparations but this is different.

This small family run restaurant have the most satisfying food from in and around India. I really do not like to eat Indian food out BUT looking at there small menu I knew I was going to get fresh food. Each and every bite was filled with bursting flavours. Even the decor had a story to tell along with Momma’s bread and butter pudding which just melted in your mouth. If I could give them more than five stars I would ⭐️ The staff had brilliant customer skills! 😁
