Fabulous food. My only complaint is that the staff were a little too enthusiastic topping up drinks and removing plates.

This is my new favourite restaurant! We went here for our anniversary and it was very memorable, from the food, to the atmosphere, to the very friendly and attentive staff. Everything we ate was full of the flavour and so delicious. You must try the beetroot tikka and the burrata chaat!

My husband and I had a fabulous meal here for Valentine’s Day. The food was delicious, the service very attentive. Easily the best ‘posh curry’ in the area.

I came with my partner on Friday. It’s so amazing ambience and very good service. Food was amazing. First time visited would love to visit more

Food took 2 hours to come out. The restaurant was uncomfortably hot 🥵 and when the food came it was just Ok. We were left to wait wondering where the food was with no explanation or apology from the staff. No offer of something whilst we wait or any discount at all by the staff they just ignored the whole issue and played it down when asked. It was busy and things can go wrong which I totally understand but the way it is handled is what makes it a good or a bad experience. It was a special occasion and we left a bit sour.

Our first time at Shiuli and it was impeccable! The service was incredible, Sunita made us feel at home from the moment we walked through the door. At first I thought the food was a bit expensive, however it proved worth it. It was incredibly flavorful and the portion sizes were much better than other places nearby. The menu is also very unique. Tried some new dishes thanks to Sunita's recommendation... Will definitely be back

Had ordered takeaway from Shiuli a couple of times and was always blown away when I'd go to collect it. A very warm welcome, sometimes a complimentary drink at the bar if the wait was long, etc, etc. So I thought I'd try dining in on my birthday. An absolutely lovely experience and I'll definitely be returning in the near future. The staff were all very friendly and attentive and had good suggestions and recommendations on food and drink. The quality and freshness of the food was top notch. They do have a few of your usual Anglicised dishes if you are not that adventurous, but I would recommend that you try something new as they have plenty on offer and will happily guide you if you let them know your likes and dislikes. The onion bhajis are some of if not the best I've ever had. The Burrata Chaat was a nice change and something I've not had before. Very tasty but a large portion and so ideal for two to share (as are the bhajis). For mains we had skinny paneer makhani and a grill selection which consisted of tandoori chicken, lamp chop & a paneer 'parcel'. All absolutely delicious. I was sad when Atithi in Twickenham closed as that was, in my opinion, by far the best Indian restaurant in TW1. Shiuli has definitely taken the top spot for me.

Where to start? I was treated to a meal here from my generous brother and sister-in-law for a 'big' birthday. They told me it was great and they are not wrong. Everything is just about perfect here. From the greeting by Sunita and then the extraordinary chef, Alfred. The genuine warmth from them both is so touching and the staff without exception. The food is simply outstanding from a Michelin-starred chef. It is a world away from what you would get from your average Indian restaurant. Incomparable. I urge those that can, to try Shuli. If you do, you will return. I promise. A truly special occasion. I left with a hug from Sunita and glowing warmth from the staff. Suffice to say, like Arnie, I'll be back.

A couple of months ago, I visited this restaurant, designed by Michelin-starred chef Alfred Prasad, to celebrate my birthday with my wife and daughter. We arrived at 6pm on a Friday without a reservation but were informed that we could dine until 8pm. A female staff member escorted us to our table and made us comfortable. At that time, we were the only customers in the restaurant. We ordered some drinks, momos, chicken biryani, some rotis, butter chicken, paneer, aubergine bharta etc. The malai chicken starter had some pink pieces in it. We brought this to the attention of the Asian waiter with black hair, who was wearing black trousers and a shirt, when he asked for our feedback. Around 7:10pm, we finished our food and were waiting for the staff to clean the table, looking forward to receiving the dessert menu. At approximately 7:20pm a friendly white female staff member cleaned our table while engaging in a pleasant conversation about our weekend plans. However, she was abruptly interrupted by the Asian waiter, who stated that she was needed in the kitchen, cutting off our conversation. By 7:35pm, the Asian waiter handed us the bill, leaving us surprised as we had been expecting the dessert menu. When we inquired about this, the waiter informed us that there was a VVIP booking at 8pm, and we needed to vacate the table. I expressed my disappointment, feeling as if we were being asked to leave. Another staff member came over to apologise for the waiter’s behaviour and arranged for some dessert to be brought to our table with a candle, but by then, the damage had already been done. They decided to deduct the service charge due to the extremely poor service we experienced. We left the restaurant around 7:40pm to allow them time to prepare the table for their more important VVIP guests. We were extremely disappointed with the level of service. Upon leaving, a female staff member asked for my wife’s email address to send a formal apology, but to this date, we have not received anything.

Just when I thought this place couldn’t get any better. We ordered some of the dishes from a take away service, and we naturally expected for the quality to be hindered by choosing this avenue. However, not only was the portion size amazing, the food was incredible and presentation was not compromised. This is now, my most adored venue for fantastic curries. Well done guys!

Sensationally good all round. The food is up there with the best tasting Indian food I’ve ever had. The service from the wait staff is first class and atmosphere is very cosy. I tried the chicken saag, butter chicken, daal and various naans. All were fantastic. Highly recommended!

One of the best butter chickens I’ve ever had. Tried several appetizers (onion bhaji, duck samosas, burrata chaat, beetroot cakes) and they were all great. Spot on plain naan and the dessert (carrot halwa) was incredible too. The service was very welcoming and professional, the one you’d expect in a 5-star hotel. I 100% recommend this place.

This is probably the best Indian restaurant I have ever eaten at. The food was flavoursome and fresh. Beautiful flavours and decent portions. The staff are helpful and welcoming. The venue is beautiful. My family loved it! Definitely recommend. Try the nut broccoli!

Loved the prawns n chicken tikka, the railway chicken curry wasn’t flavourful enough sadly and the chicken 65 wasn’t tasty at all. Cocktails aren’t strong either. Lovely and attentive service, dog friendly and beautiful ambience. Will be back but won’t order railway chicken curry or chicken 65.

Discovered Shiuli by chance a couple of years ago and is now a regular stop when in Twickenham. The food is always fantastic and the welcome from all staff, warm. Most recent visit was on match day, the restaurant was really busy, the atmosphere buzzing and the food maintained its exceptional standard. Cannot wait to return

100% recommend this restaurant. I went there twice and got takeaway food once. Amazing food. Just an example, the butter naan is unbelievably good!! Really loved the atmosphere. The staff is also very friendly and very helpful.

Another outstanding meal at Shiuli. The set menu early dining offers a great option - the Seabass is a standout dish. We always have the vadams and truffle/ bone marrow naan which are amazing. Jawbone on tap is a nice touch. We will return again and again!

I had the pleasure of going to Shiuli for dinner on the evening of the 3rd of October and had a fabulous evening. What’s even better than the outstanding food was the care and attention provided by each and every member of the staff. The food is modern Indian and appeals to even the most discerning palate. My favourite dish was the ouststanding Kale - Saag Paneer and the Truffle Naan - and this comes from a person who usually swears by Non Veg. What is even better is that the restaurant serves up a mean range of cocktails which pairs very well with the courses. Go and have a great time !!

Food is absolutely amazing, I had the sea bass and crab moilee and it was superb. Starters and naan were excellent too. Really appreciated the service of Josh who was very fun and really nice!

Loved every bit of it! My partner , my son and I were in awe after we first visited the restaurant. Clearly not something one can expect from a neighbourhood place to eat. Ambience, service and most importantly food reminds you of Mayfair type dining! Must visit, not only if you fancy Indian cuisine, but if you are big foodie in general. Shiuli will surprise you !

Beautiful food and decor. Lovely smell as you walk in with super friendly and professional staff. Difficult to choose what the best meal is of the night! Thoroughly enjoyed the bone marrow naan, mango and prawn curry, duck samosa. Great experience.

Shiuli came highly recommended, and for good reason. The ambiance and interior were very elegant whilst also relaxed and welcoming. It took a while for the mains to arrive but it was well worth the wait as the food was all excellent and the staff were lovely. I had the vegan options and it was great to see that these were just as thoughtfully crafted as the rest of the menu. I will be passing on the recommendation, and can’t wait to return myself.

My family and I went to Shiuli Restaurant for my uncle’s birthday. First of all, the restaurant’s atmosphere was very pleasant and beautiful. The waiters were very polite and friendly. The lady who owned the restaurant was very welcoming and kind. The starters were incredibly delicious. For the main course, I had lamb chops, which were outstanding. For my uncle’s birthday, they gave him a birthday card, which was a lovely gesture. I truly appreciate it.

Definitely not your average Indian restaurant. Absolutely gorgeous food. Fantastic service. Highly recommend

Easy my favourite restaurant in London! The food is too die for! Michelin star chef does Indian infusion full of mouth watering flavours.

Went in with greater expectations from the menu. Food was hit and miss. Grills were average. Butter chicken was overly sweet and disappointing. Salad puchka, pepper lamb and tandoori rotis were good. One would expect more with the steep prices they charge. Drinks were nice and service was really attentive. Based on the food sadly Shuili didn't hit the mark.

Absolutely beautiful food! The saagwaala chicken and the jalfrezi chicken just melted in the mouth! The only reason it doesn’t get five stars is that they sent they sent a roti instead of a naan and for £60 for two dishes, rices and 2 naans, I would hope they get the order right….

Flawless execution and probably the best Indian restaurant we’ve tried in the UK - even when benchmarked against e.g. Gymkhana and the likes. Flavourful but not imposing dishes that are nicely presented, and by friendly and attentive staff who clearly take pride in giving customers a great dining experience. There has also been thought put into the interior design of the restaurant - warm atmosphere and with small little details that matter. Don’t look any further - Shiuli has really nailed it.

Visited Shiuli for the first time, we usually go to Little Mumbai in Twickenham so thought a change would be good. Overall it was a nice restaurant, well furnished, clean and the food was very good. However for a biryani, a chicken dish, 2 vegetable side dishes, a roti and a drink each the bill was shocking. We paid £85 including the 12.5% service charge and although the food was very well prepared it could never be described as good value for money. Some of the revues made reference to special offers ( The Fork I think) so that may have made a difference. It's a nice restaurant but it will have been our first and only visit. Verdict : Nice but well over priced. Our regular restaurant is almost as good at half the price.

This is undoubtedly a lovely restaurant, staff are attentive and service is good, atmosphere on a standard Wednesday evening was also, so to the food....I found the grilled starter pieces to be so much tastier than the mains which I found fairly bland. Also with the grilled starters we were advised to not share them as they were not big enough to cut in half, this is simply not true, the lamb, prawn and chicken were all huge, I am not complaining about this but luckily we didn’t take the advice given as they were plenty for two to share as a starter, in fact we barely had room for main courses after eating them. Also, the pricing is extortionate, it is a lovely place, but I think it is very overpriced, I would only go back for a very, very special occasion (and if I won the lottery!)

We have eaten here a few times and it is always good. We decided to try the tasting menu and it was amazing. There are 2 different tasting menus, hard to choose which one. The flavours were amazing and every dish looks beautiful. The service is so friendly and relaxed but professional. A lovely restaurant!

The restaurant is beautiful inside and all the staff are very welcoming. The food is out of this world. Probably the best curry we’ve had in London. The flavours are wonderful. We’ll be back just to try the rest of the menu.

Wow, what an amazing restaurant! Been here a few times now and I think it is my new favourite! Food is superb! Service is amazing! Cocktails very yummy! Surroundings are very aesthetically pleasing. Perfect place for a date night. Had the head chef come and speak with us and was a lovely personal touch. Couldn’t recommend more! We love the small plates and the lamb chops and prawns are to die for! Best butter chicken I’ve ever had and the bone marrow naan was mouthwatering and so different! We can’t wait to try some of the other menu items.

Great restaurant near Twickenham Green. The food is beautifully cooked Indian dishes in a comfortable smart dining area with some of the best staff serving the food I have experienced, including really well known "fine dining restaurants". The emphasis is on taste and ingredients and a relaxed atmosphere. If you want a quieter dining experience arrive early before the groups and get the bonus of a discounted early evening menu (order before 18.00) which has some of the star dishes from the a la carte menu. If you enjoy your beer, Shiuli now has bottled Twickenham Brewery beers, from just down the road and Jawbone from Teddington.

AMAZING food!!! We came here for my birthday recently and the food was on another level. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs, the food was out of this world and the whole experience was great. On the pricier side but totally worth it. The equivalent to any high end restaurant in London. Well worth the visit and we will come again. Thank you!

Shiuli is quite simply one of the best restaurants I have been to. My friend recommended this place and we were not disappointed. Alfred and his team have put together a great menu illustrating tremendous imagination and creativity. Sunita was also a great host and all dishes were presented and tasted so good. The service was also very prompt and friendly. We can’t wait to comeback..!

Best Indian restaurant in the area by far

So happy to have eaten here, wonderful food, attentive, friendly service. Would definitely return. Had the tasting menu which was first class, can’t wait to return to try other dishes. A must try.

We went to Shiuli for Fathers Day as a last minute dinner plan and it did not disappoint. The service was impeccable and could not fault it which is really refreshing. The food was out of this world and hands down one of the best Indian we have tried. Very innovative and delicious. They also were really accommodating with our four year old son and able to help tone the heat down in certain dishes too. We will be back for more!

My favourite restaurant in the whole Twix/Richmond area ! The food is amazing, so well thought and put together but more than that there is a general high attention to all details from the service to the dishes presentation, choice of drinks, everything really that makes a huge difference to the overall experience. I wish I would have remembered to take photos of the food, but one can see them on other posts. Everything looked beautiful. My second visit, and both times the service and food have been exceptional! Unusual to go to an Indian restaurant before a Rugby match but Shiuli had been recommended by a local, then the lovely waitress in Sapori (great coffee) declared herself jealous when she heard where we were going and then, on our way out, a couple sitting behind us said they loved the place and we would enjoy it. We had high expetitions, and those expectations were met. I haven't had a biriani in many years having been spoilt by the Indian Mother of a friend of my wife. Time, I thought, in view of the recommendations, to try again . I wasn't disappointed. There is a subtlty to a biriani that sometimes is missed with the herbs or spices or a herb or a spice predominating. Not this one. It was perfect. My wife had the pindi chickpea masala and smoked aubergine bharta. She didn't need to loick her plate clean as she had naan, thank goodness. But then dessert. Textures of Mango. Words cannot describe the taste sensation. One of my top 5 desserts of all time. No wonder it is their best seller. Over the last 20 years or so I have visited Indian Restaurants all over the country. This modern cookery puts Shiuli at the top of my list. The only reason for 4 stars for atmosphere was that the place was less than half full. Other people, also obviously going to the rugby, seemed to be enjoying their food. Goodness knows why Shiuli wasn't full, it should have been.

As soon as you walk in you are hit with the most beautiful smell of cardamom and other fresh spices. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff and all so attentive and friendly. The food is stunning! We will definitely be back to try their tasting menu. . . Sounds amazing!

This is not another British Indian Restaurant! The chef patron Alfred Prasad is Michelin starred and the food showcases the best of regional Indian cuisine. The ambience is calm and welcoming like the service. The dishes were all innovative and delicious. We always look forward to our next visit!

This is a wonderful, modern Indian restaurant with many things sourced locally. All the food is excellent but you must try the Black Kale Paneer and the Black Lentils. And the samphire crisps on the Amritsari fish starter are a taste sensation.

A rare gem in the area serving authentic Indian dishes made with love. First restaurant where I can truly say I love every dish on the menu. It’s run by a husband and wife team and they are the most amazing people you will ever meet.

Dreadful takeaway! Charged my family £95 for the smallest portions of food. The food was no better than an average takeaway. Chicken inside the chicken Tikka Masala was grizzly while the portion sizes were tiny. Avoid

My experience of Shiuli was an amazing experience. Firstly, we were seated very promptly and then we ordered. Soon after we had ordered, our food arrived and it was splendid. Great variety, taste and much more. Waiters were very nice and helpful. Would recommend. 5 Stars.

The best restaurant we have ever been to. My partner and I have been several times, and each time it has been such an incredible experience from start to finish. The staff are incredibly kind, positive, funny and genuine - they treat you like family - something you rarely find in restaurants nowadays. The food is out of this world. It is unique and each dish is perfectly balanced in flavour and presentation. Special shoutout to my favourites the roasted broccoli and black kale saag paneer! It is Michelin-star quality yet very reasonably priced. The cocktails are also fantastic. Then there are the decorations - stunning. We have brought family here and they are very much in agreement - my parents want to come here every time they visit London. It is an absolute gem of a place and I am sure it will become of London’s most renowned restaurants very soon. We will continue to enjoy the experience for as long as we can! Pieter & Cecile

I had the pleasure of dining at Shiuli last night, and once again, I was blown away by the exceptional experience it offered. From start to finish, every aspect of the evening exceeded my expectations. One of the highlights of the evening was the special birthday arrangement that Shiuli had prepared. Not only did they acknowledge the occasion with a thoughtful birthday card, but they also presented a beautifully decorated birthday plate, adding a personal touch that truly made the celebration memorable.

An innovative menu well presented and helpful waiters made eating here a very pleasant experience. Oh and the low alcohol beer choices are very good.

Family visit on recommendation and didn’t disappoint! Up market ambience , attentive friendly staff and owner. Extensive wine list to accompany some extremely tasty dishes. The style is to serve with not a lot of sauce- worth knowing - so could be a bit dry depending on what order.

We’ve just had a delivery from here. Wow! The food was exceptional. Elegant, delicious flavours and aromas. We had two dishes. A chicken and spinach dish - which was tender with a slightly citrusy, and beautifully fresh sauce - and a mushroom dish in a sauce with fennel which was light and aromatic with a hint of spice. The mind blowing things were the sides - the bone marrow naan and samphire onion bhaajis. They were probably the best expressions of those two Indian staples I have ever had. Beautiful.
