After coming here for the first time I’d give it a solid 4. Some dishes were of good quality, flavour, authenticity. Some were off the mark, either bland, too much fusion where it doesn’t quite work, and lots of sugar. I asked for sugar free lassi which was good and We had asked for low oil in dishes after reading some reviews on here and they happily complied! They offer complimentary after drinks, which a nice touch, even though overall bill is pretty high for what portion size you get! Nothing speaks tapas so they could improve this a little more. Staff super friendly and engaging. The decor took us by surprise, and can see what they’re trying to do but could tone it down a bit if they want a more classy look and feel! But you can see they’ve decorated for insta fans! I would come back to try some other dishes and not drive so I can try some cocktails, because why not? Great place to try, for something a little different and with few improvements, this could be a local gem! 🙏🏽

Absolutely gorgeous. Waiting staff were friendly and took the time to make sure you're happy. Plus, made a few funny jokes, very relaxed. Food was so much better than expected. There's a Indo-Chinese cauliflower dish I recommend. A few reviews say food it fatty or oily, but none of the non-meat dishes were oily, if that helps. Toilets were good too, if that affects your decision. I'm not from London, but best food so far on holiday! I liked the pineapple cocktail.

The dishes are refined, tasty and made with fresh produce (excellent palak basket). The small minus would be that it is very fatty. Excellent with Cardamom Lassi to soften the spices. The welcome is warm and the decor is exotic.

The food was lovely, bit pricey, so would only go for special occasion. Reason for the less stars was because was our table was moved back by 30mins, which wasnt a problem, however we was promised a drink on the house because of the inconvenience, and when we asked for the drink, they said its the complimentary drink they give to all customers with there bill.

The best Indian food I have ever eaten. We got the tandoori chicken, chicken lollipops (amazing), rice, garlic naan (amazing), lamb curry, and fried cauliflower (amazing). I will definitely be going back!

I have come to this place due to their #1 on Tripadvisor. I have ordered Butter Chicken, Jaipuri Lamb Chops, Coriander and Garlic Naan and Mango Lassi. Unfortunately the visit was a huge disappointment for me. The lamb was burnt and there was hardly any meat on the bones. Both dishes were way too salty and the taste was really average (if you could taste anything apart from the salt). Mango lassi was also mediocre. Only Naan was very good and I can recommend. Actually I think this was the worst Indian food I have ever eaten. There were also no napkins on the tables to clean the fingers and the floor in the local was sticky. In the end also the 12.5% service charge have been added in top of the bill. To sum up, I do not understand where the Tripadvisor score come from.

Fairly bad experience here from start to finish, although we were offered a free drink on the house at the end, without an apology for the wrong and late food, as well as poor service. With my meal being delivered first whilst my friend's wasn't, this was not a great start. It turned out it wasn't even my main meal, so they took that away, but left the rice and naan bread. My friend's meal then arrived after about ten more minutes, but he had finished his by the time my meal finally came, which I ate with cold rice and naan. The food itself was OK. Nothing special.

I visited Bonoo a couple of days ago. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and, above all,the hospitality. Mani and his team deserve applause. The atmosphere is cosy and friendly. The decor is amazing. The food was tasty and well presented. Planning to visit again soon.

We schlepped far from our usual neighbourhood for this and we were glad we did. Great food, a bit chaotic but well-meaning service (and they were busy to be fair), and overall very friendly. We were seated downstairs but if we came back, which we are likely to, I’d definitely ask to be upstairs as downstairs was rather claustrophobic. Overall far more that is positive than not and I would recommend to friends who were in the area.

Food was so tasty! We had the okra fries, chilli chicken, chilli paneer, truffle naan, salad, cinnamon chai all were amazing. Not too oily, well cooked and served with a smile. The waiter was friendly and helpful and the restaurant is so pretty. Highly recommend

This place was a real find. I don’t live locally but did a search to find somewhere that served ochra fries. The food was stunning! I can’t fault a thing about it. The service was warm and friendly and the venue was really nicely put together. Would definitely go out of my way to return and recommend to others.

TLDR: disappointing overpriced fare. Don’t bother if you’re considering making the trek from central London. Something fishy going on with the high rating… a lot of five stars are from accounts with only one review and very VERY few negative reviews. I smell review fraud, especially after our experience: Food- only okay. Notably, the butter chicken was horrendously greasy and bland. How do you mess up such an easy dish? The lamb chops were burnt to a crisp. Their vegetarian dishes were passable. Service/Atmosphere- sweet servers, but for an inexplicable reason they sat us (a couple) downstairs in the basement where the only other party was a large family. We had reservations, too! The sounds of screaming children drowned out most of our dinner talk. Why would you seat us there? Value- this place is about 40 minutes from central London, but more expensive. I assume this is due to the high ratings, but I walked away feeling duped. If only one person reads this review and is saved the disappointment of wasting a night of their vacation going here, my job here is done. I certainly wish I had taken a closer look before making a non refundable reservation. I will also be keeping a close eye on if this review is taken down..

Tasty, overpriced, small portions with confused menu. I’m Asian, living in the area and have eaten here a few times. The food is tasty and staff are very friendly. But the tapas selection mixes snacks such as pani puri with mains and even more shockingly prices them similarly, i find this ridiculous. They suggest you order 2-3 dishes each but if you order 3 snacks rather than starters or mains type dishes, you’ll be very disappointed. The menu layout is not good, waiters constantly have to explain that portions will be inadequate when certain customers order a plate of bhel thinking it’s a good starter but is the equivalent of a plate of crisps. Please change your menu to clearly distinguish between snacks, starters, mains and the intelligent customers can form their own mixing of tapas as they wish. The portions need to be in line with a snack, starter and main reflected in appropriate pricing or reduce your price where portions are small. Your snacks/starters are more than The Ivy!!
