The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

I ordered the Railway lamb curry, saag paneer, pilau rice and a garlic naan. The curry was good, I didn’t like the saag paneer. It was very sweet. I always have a saag paneer with my curry and I’ve had it from many different Indian restaurants but this was the only one that was sweet. Delivery was very quick, from time of ordering to the door it was 20 minutes.

I have used the madhuban for over 20 years, both the Liss restaurant and liphook delivery service and have always recommended them to friends. My latest liphook delivery was dreadful. I fed back to them online privately to give them an opportunity to get back to me but, sadly, they didn’t even bother so have decided to go public. I had made a meat curry using their excellent madhuban sauces but still spent £30 on sides to accompany the dish. The 2 tubs of sag aloo were awful, packed with slimy spinach and all of 3 bits of potato! Most of the pickle tray was a watered down mush and the onion salad was only fit for the bin. The ‘hot’ sides were tepid at best. The only edibles were the pappadums and onion bhajis. This is not what I expect from the madhuban. As they couldn’t be bothered to send good food or contact me I will never recommend or use them again. I am very disappointed in them.

Ordered a takeaway via uber eats and honestly its the worst food I have ever had. ohh well at least the bins been feed 🫣 Chicken Tikka under cooked and raw, with no flavour at all. (looked like plain chicken) Chicken Chat tasted like it was mixed using water and vinegar for flavour. Lamp chops burnt to a crisp and tougher than old toe nails. Popadoms are the only thing that could be eaten but even the pickle tray was flavourless and watery Poor very poor

We have used The Spice Room for many years, we also have 2 holiday cottages that we rent out where we recommend them as our Indian delivery/takeaway of choice. Sadly tonight’s meal was awful, not the same meal we normally have at all. We ordered a Rogan Josh and it was like a tin of chopped tomatoes with some tikka meat thrown in. No Indian flavour at all just chopped tomatoes and chicken. I called them as I wanted to let them know as I am sure this must have just been a mistake to be told in a very arrogant way that I “must have picked the wrong dish as this dish is tomato based” all I wanted was acknowledging and that they would pass on the feedback to the chef as I’m sure he must have just forgot to add any Indian spice/flavouring. Really sad about this and how I was treated but sadly I won’t be ordering from them again and I will be removing the menus from my holiday cottages incase my guests receive the same treatment.

Lovely dinner at Radhuni on Good Friday, the Sheek kebab starters were very tasty, & the curry’s we ordered Chicken Dupiaza & Chicken Madras, were cooked perfectly & served on previously warmed plates, the waiters & servers were all polite & attentive, I liked the added bonus of the hot towels to freshen your hands after your meal. We will back next time we’re in South Shields thank you

Lovely food and great service. Very pleased we tried this restaurant. Good choice of dishes and plenty of options. Great value.

This was the first time we had tried this restaurant and we was not disappointed. The food was amazing, cooked beautifully, every mouthful was bursting with flavour. We would definitely recommend the food 🙂

I ordered a masala sauce but was sent an extra hot madras sauce in error, ruined the meal and was inedible.

Had an item missing and a lot of my meat chicken was still pink so disappointed

I have had takeaways from here a few times and rhey have generally been very good. However, yesterday I ordered a curry which was tasty but sparse on the lamb component and the two boxes of rice were overcooked, saturated and almost mashed. Had to throw them away.. Very disappointed.

Amazing food as takeaway, and dine in and amazing staff

Llamó aquí la pasada Nochevieja en una noche muy lluviosa en Liverpool. Estábamos empapados y preguntamos si tenían alguna toalla que pudiéramos usar solo para que nos entregaran un rollo de papel azul que estaba bien. Primero terminaré con la comida y luego con el servicio. Pedí el entrante mixto para dos y cuando llegó le pregunté al camarero si era eso? Parecía una pequeña porción, pero dijo que era cierto. Tomé el pollo biryani y pedí una salsa de tikka en lugar de la salsa de curry habitual y ambos estaban listos. ¡Ahora el servicio! El personal me pareció bajo en número para la víspera de Año Nuevo y el camarero que pregunté sobre el entrante cuando pedí nuevos cubiertos para nuestro principal literalmente solo les puse un juego en la mesa y mi juego en una servilleta sucia en nuestra mesa que nunca he experimentado en ningún otro lugar. ¿Vamos a volver? Definitivamente no por favor ver fotos.

I've ordered from here a few times, the food has always been delicious, and the service / delivery has always been excellent and on time if not early, definitely my go to place when I'm in the mood for some Indian food.
