Me encanta esta comida y siempre la compro los sábados. Las samosas son perfectas y relativamente grandes, y nunca me ha decepcionado este puesto.
Los precios son razonables y la comida es muy fresca, no me puedo quejar.
Love the ethos of the place.
"The staff and volunteers are being trained in invaluable skills and hospitality experience to help them improve their career prospects. Guests are welcomed to make our house their home for the day, sample the menu and meet the wonderful people who are giving back to the community!"
The environment is warm and inviting and the staff are super friendly. Prices are very reasonable.
I'd gone there, as part of time put aside specifically to sit and reflect on the memory of someone.
I wanted somewhere relaxed and unhurried, where I wasn't made to feel I'd overstayed my welcome.
It was certainly better than many places in that regard.
It transpired that they run their own radio station which was transmitted into the cafe. Great idea for those involved in creating and running that.
However, the music wasn't to my taste and was rather loud, so I was unable to relax. Of course some visitors will actively enjoy this aspect.
I wanted to point it out because it may possibly affect people's ability to enjoy the place fully, as a cafe and meeting place.
I would have struggled to have a tranquil conversation with someone over coffee.
It would be a great place for small groups to have informal meetings but again I think the level of the radio transmission would be unhelpful in that situation.
It may be that the radio station isn't transmitting all day, every day. I can only review my own experience there.
The place was quite "buzzy" enough to create a warm atmosphere Some very quiet, non abrasive background music would have been perfectly acceptable to me, I just found this to be too invasive.
It may be that the benefits to the volunteers in operating the radio station, far outweigh the benefits of maybe getting more customers into the cafe ... and I'm perfectly fine with that.
I'm sure the project is all about balance and I wish them every success.
If you don't mind loud, fashionable music, then it could be a great little hideaway for you.
The stall was selling wraps at a great price comparied to neighbouring stall & my chicken wrap was stuffed full & very tasty. The owner kindly allowed us to sit outside his shop in the market.
Can't help who comes through the door as some other idiot seems to think 🤔 My favourite place to go for a cuppa tea and a breakfast or a breakfast bun.
We called past after a walk, looking forward to a refreshing drink. The coffee and the lavender and camomile tea were excellent. The deli also do a range of gluten free cakes - the millionaire's slice and the Bakewell cakes were delicious. (I bought another slice to take away). The staff were friendly and welcoming.
This place is amazing for those that want a great pint of Ale or Cider at £3.50. No fuss. Great for a social meeting that is warped back in time in the Victorian era.
Think Peaky Blinders without the gangsters!
It's a deli really, or perhaps a Polski Sklep. But with the Boris Plague rampant, I'll happily drink their coffee. The cafe bit is to the left of the front door, the deli straight on.
Order coffee, tea or hot chocolate at the deli counter. Smiley lady, presumably Mrs Wojtek, goes to the cafe bit.
I went in for my usual espresso. But the sign said Hot Chocolate and it was a bit blooming chilly outside. It was lovely, and very welcome
Part tearoom / cafe and part museum, this is a really good place to enjoy 20 minutes or so whilst waiting for a tour of the tunnels. Using a real life details of a pre / post war tea rooms ( but with much better food), and almost unheard of refreshments, it is very good to sit and look over the posters and enamel signs from the early 1940's.
Great people looking after this little gem.
Visited following a recommendation and needed to cool down after a long day in the heat. Great selection of ice cream and sorbet. We had the sorbet and was very tasty and refreshing. Service was friendly and price was reasonable
Recently moved back to the area and have been here 3 times. This place really is superb and deserves every 5 star review it gets.
Freshly cooked fish and great chips and cooked while you wait or by phone order.
Sets a very high standard, hence the queues and the phone that never stops ringing.
We love it - a real treat.
Popped in here for a morning coffee and had one of the newly baked fresh scones with strawberry jam and cream served on lovely vintage china. All very cute and with a lovely warm atmosphere. Log burner crackling away. ❤️ there’s a small vintage gift shop attached. Only open on a Saturday.
Here for a tyre change next door at ETB enjoyed a small but satisfying breakfast from the young lady who was serving, the breakfast wasn’t swimming in grease and was more than enough for the price you pay (which was fairly low) had no expectations yet you exceeded them. Thank you. JG Chef 32 years. (Even chefs like a full English!!)
