Inspirations in East Staffordshire

We were a small family group out to celebrate a Birthday. This is an African / English restaurant that specialises in African dishes. This being because the owner / chef is English but with African connections and having spent some considerable time there. We all selected an African dish, the food is amazing and each dish was themed to a particular African Country and is all cooked with fresh ingredients on the premises. The staff are all very efficient, pleasant and friendly which made it great night out. I think this was their 1st opening night since the virus lock down and they ask for advance bookings only which is very sensible at present. It is quite ironic that this restaurant is next door to 99 Station Street, an award winning English Restaurant, I expect that Inspirations will soon follow !

It remains a difficult time we live in so I was more than happy to support a local independent business and I wasn't disappointed. Wow ... food was amazing. I can recommend the salmon and mango lime ... see pics. Chef came and had a chat with us about the food, so that was an added bonus. Menus change apparently so i will definitively visit again.

four of us visited on saturday evening for the first time and absolutely loved the africa inspired food where we all had the 3 course menu with about 4 choices for each course for £20 and 12 plates were returned to the kitchen all completey empty which speaks volumes,only downside was there were only us and one other table of 4 and with no music it meant no atmosphere so please give this restaurant a go and lets get this restaurant busier as its what adrian the chef/owner who came out chatting to us deserves

If you want something different that is absolutely amazing then this is the place to go. The restaurant has been open for a year now and we have now been 4 times. Every visit was top notch, they specialise in African food which we usually have but also do some English / European dishes. To get food of this quality at such a reasonable price is brilliant.

The flavours excel! Subtlely full of flavour on the palate, including the deserts which are light yet taste sublime. Also light on the purse with prices below mid range. Quite unique in what is offered and a lovely experience. Friendly staff. Conducive environment.

This restaurant deserves the highest praise for its brilliant concept and careful execution, and fine presentation.'Inspirations' is still In its early stages, but already making its mark in its fresh approach to flavours and concepts. We chose North African Peanut Soup (a revelation) as starter, followed by Moroccan Chicken Tagine which was delicious. Thoroughly recommended to anyone wanting something different. Their two and three course menus are very good value indeed.

I visited this restaurant yesterday with a couple of friends for a birthday meal celebration. We have never been here before. I believe it's been open about 6 months. The menu was very reasonable - £15 for 2 courses. The food was AMAZING. I'm a Vegetarian and although only one main dish was veggie I was happy to give it a go as a new experience. Very impressed. The restaurant is family owned and run. The waiting staff were lovely, very friendly and attentive. The Chef/Owner came out to speak to us after the meal and it was so interesting listening to his story. He obviously has a passion for food and wants to share the delights of South African cuisine. My two friends who are both confirmed Carnivores were equally impressed with their food. The one thing thst shocked me was how quiet the place was. People I urge you to check this place out, your tastebuds and wallet will be very grateful. You will not regret it. The menu changes regularly so we're already looking forward to our next visit.

This is our second visit and both times have been perfect. It is brilliant to find something completely different. The food is fresh and changes seasonally. It is not pretentious or complicated, just good layers of flavour in well thought out menus. The service is friendly and very professional. Come on Burton, get behind this lovely place!

We really enjoyed our meal, food was excellent with fresh ingredients and beautifully seasoned. If you're in Burton and fancy something a little different we highly recommend you give this place a try. Worth it!

We visited this restaurant on a whim and we're very impressed. They were serving an African menu, a cuisine we'd never sampled before but would certainly try again. It was quiet unfortunately for the restaurant staff, who were all very friendly but had nothing much to do. We hope people aren't put off by the fact it's something different, it's about time there was a restaurant serving different cuisines in Burton! We would love to return to try the next offerings!
