We often visit the Salty Seahorse when walking along the Seafront. It's quite a quirky place for coffee having its tables on the seafront & on the beach. If you have your recycled cup they knock 20p off. Not open at the moment but will be in the summer.

Excellent southern fried chicken and chips with delicious garlic mayo. Freshly cooked and really friendly service. Lovely location with picnic tables right by the beach. Fab to find after walking the coast!

When you run a seafront cafe, its hard to pull off something that's refreshingly different, imaginative and good. Salty Seahorse pull this off with extra style with a varied, imaginative menu. The food arrives beautifully done (we had the Cod Goujons with chips - cooked perfectly!). Highly recommend!

Stopped here on a sunny Sunday lunchtime. It was quite busy but we easily found seats. A bit of a wait as expected on a sunny weekend, but the food was really good. We had fish finger sandwiches and they were absolutely amazing. Lovely bread, lovely sauce and lovely fresh fish. The view is unbeatable. I’ll definitely return.

Needed a quick bite to eat and this didn’t disappoint. The Halloumi Fries were delicious and they some very good coffee and you can’t get any closer to the beach. Will go back to try the fish next time

A lovely walk along the seafront at Seaford towards Newhaven is now even better. The Salty Seahorse is a converted horse box, serving excellent coffee and fantastic food. A small menu includes goujons of cod, prawn sandwiches and halloumi fries. It’s a great addition to the seafront and I shall be visiting it often.

I have used this lovely little gem several times, and it has always delivered. Very friendly owners who always make you feel welcome. The concept makes a great change from burgers and ice cream that usually are found at beach fronts.

Recently opened pop up on seafront and on a gloriously sunny day the view is fantastic and great to eat in the open air. Limited but totally appropriate menu of hot & cold (Fentimans) drinks, cod goujons & halloumi fries which we tried as in photo and they really ‘hit the spot’ - crispy served with sumac pomegranate and tahini sauce. As all food cooked to order there can be a wait - it’s not fast food in that respect. But a welcome addition to the tea kiosks and ice cream vans on the promenade. I understand Tony has plans to develop so hope seaford council permit them!

My girlfriend and I were walking our pug down Seaford Seafront and came across The Salty Seahorse. The smell as we got near is what hooked us in and we were not disappointed one bit! We shared a batch of Halloumi fries which were easily the best I've ever tasted... couldn't recommend them highly enough! The Salty Seahorse is in really cool converted horse box which really stands out on the promenade. Great little spot for anyone who wants to get some real quality food with an incredible view.

This is a really lovely cafe and tea room, particularly in the summer when you can use the courtyard garden. The real negative about it is the appalling way they dress their waitresses. They are all in Victorian style maids uniforms with aprons, so disgraceful in this day and age that women are expected to dress in this way. I’ve never seen any male staff there but if there were would they really be dressed as Victorian servants? So derogatory to women I’ve now started to go to the Green Welly down the road which at least appears to treat their staff with more respect. In light of the owners response I would like to add that I had no idea this was a 1940s themed cafe, obviously there’s a Vera Lynne room but otherwise it’s just a quirky cafe. Not sure where the piles of cakes, tea garden, huge breakfasts and avocado smash fit into a 40s ration book theme but these are welcome additions if not the treatment of serving staff.
