I'm bored with sandwiches, but when out and on a busy day it sometimes is the only decent option, especially when it comes to 3.30pm and I haven't had breakfast yet. I popped into The Patch in Lewes when passing just to grab something and was struck by the originality and quality of the sandwiches on offer, to the point that not only was I going to get one because I needed it, but because I actually wanted it. I went with smoked salmon and cream cheese, which was of the lesser original conceptions they offered, but that's just what I wanted in that moment. The bread was every bit as good as it looked, and everything about this sandwich was amazing - and it totally filled me up. I'm not a sandwich fan, I'm bored with them, but in my working day they are a necessity, but here I am writing a glowing review! Next time I'm working in Lewes, I'll know where to go. Really, really good.

Small craft beer bar, 9 taps, always changing beers inc. dark beers & a cider Open for breakfast - excellent! Other food & sandwiches available all day, & loaded fries in the evenings. Closed Sunday.

Very friendly, patient, and kind. For me this is a great place for coffee/lunch. Calm and relaxing. A great cafe. Never disappoints.

It’s hard to tell if The Patch Lewes is more cafe or tap-room. There's a huge refrigerator full of sandwiches to your right as you walk in and the air smells of frying food, so that’s ticked the cafe vibes. The the walls, however, are decorated with thousands of beer tap POS clip art, which collectively tell a colourful tale of the myriad of wonderful liquids from far and wide that have graced the taps here. The Patch Lewes is a humble yet valuable member of Lewes’ cafe and nighttime landscape. In truth the space could be a bit more comfortable for when you want to hunker down for a beery session. But in central Lewes, you just cannot beat The Patch for modern beer variety.

I’m normally very tolerant and usually don’t bother rating anywhere unless it is really good, but I had to review here, based on reception alone as we didn’t stop. On entering we were greeted by a reasonably polite gentleman, so far so good, we ordered two of the full breakfasts, no problem plus a portion of fries! To which we received a very curt “NO” followed by “we don’t serve fries until after 3, it says so on a big sign out side” when I said sorry I didn’t see it and thought they would do fries he said “No, after 3, that’s what the sign is for.” I refuse to be spoken to in a patronising and rude tone, so with drinks we would have had, they have missed out on around £40 by being rude. Looking at the menu outside it did say from 3 but was hardly a “big sign”, it said it in a not very big font and in colours difficult to read. A simple “sorry, unfortunately we don’t do them until after 3” would have been a more appropriate reply…

Great breakfast, well made cappuccino and lovely people. Definitely recommended. Takeaway food looked good as well

Good food. Small venue, so the quality is good. The waitress was lovely and she was singing along to all the songs playing which brought me joy 😊 . I would have gotten a coffee if they had syrups. That's my only recommendation otherwise a great little place for breakfast.

Found through Trip Advisor and glad I did! An excellent value breakfast with high quality ingredients cooked to order - meaty sausages, well-cooked eggs and ‘proper’ bacon. Very happy to recommend.

We stayed in Brighton and wanted breakfast, I saw this place shown on trip advisor and so we drove there, we weren’t disappointed. A real quality english breakfast, they use the best quality bacon and sausages. My wife had the scrambled eggs and salmon. It was so good we came back the next day for a varied breakfast and took away some freshly made sandwiches for lunch. The location is very easy miss it as it’s just off the high street.

Well... Best breakfast in Lewes by a country mile, and I am well versed on lewes breakfasts to say the least! I often frequent this establishment, not jus for the friendly atmosphere, and well-priced menu, but the absolutely tremendous food. I bring my family and visiting friends, but I know that even my son will spend his pocket money here when out and about with his chums. A cup of tea in a proper, no nonsense mug, none of that messing around with incy wincy teacups which seems all the rage these days. And I was ever so delighted to discover the lovely man who used to run the bakery in the bus station is the chef there. Good food with a good mood! Could not recommend more

Popped in for much needed sustenance after a heavy night the rolls were banging and came pretty quick, the place itself is a bit on the small side but otherwise a good shout.

Amazing breakfast using only good quality ingredients, super friendly staff, great value. So glad we found this place.

Popped in to this what I would call a micro pub for a beer. Staff was warm and friendly, the bar is self was warm, bright and seating inside for about 15 - 20 people I would guess. That many people would make it feel very busy, large selection of beers and ales and serves food as well. Pricing was a little on the high side at £7 for a haze real ale and the food on the menu was a bit on the pricey side. I didn't use the facilities, but the sign on the door indicated the restrooms were outside in the back garden. I will return again at some point.

Such a great little gem, staff are super friendly, the place does amazing beer, it’s super quirky, what more could you want. So every time I’ve been here they have some really interesting random beers on tap, it is such a cozy lovely place to have a drink in as well. Always local people who just like a chat The toilets are really interesting to with funky beer mats all over the walls.

Quaint little spot for breakfast - nothing fancy, but the portion sizes are good and the service is friendly and quick. My wife and I both had the vegetarian/vegan breakfast and were both left with our bellies feeling very full, ready to conquer the day.

We had a lovely brunch here. My husband ordered the veggie full breakfast and I had the veggie stack with egg and halloumi. It was very nice, fresh and tasty. The decaf coffee was very good as well (so far the best I had in a coffee place). The place is quite simple, nothing fancy and the staff is friendly and welcoming.

Have been to this venue a few times over the years, we fancied something light on our visit to Lewis today and were not disappointed. Excellent range of delicious combos of sandwiches vege, vegan, meat or fish and breakfast selections for everyone’s taste any time of day, lovely coffee , great service , marvellous tamla motown music and lovely cute outside loo😁

This is officially my favourite breakfast stop!!! Wow!!! Full meat patch is exquisite- the whole atmosphere with great local craft beers and IPAs on tap as well as great music. friendly people who work there, Love it!

Lovely cooked breakfast, sausages could have been a bit hotter but four empty plates were returned to the kitchen. Very decent pint of Abyss IPA.

Quick breakfast here before a meeting in Lewes. Lovely bacon roll and a coffee. Great service and pleasant dining environment. Prices are very reasonable too. Worth a visit!

Great food, particularly veggie options. Breakfast baps are especially good value, avo on toast with eggs (or bacon) and pico de gallo is another favourite. Staff are always welcoming and helpful. Recommended.

Well, this is the place for breakfast in Lewes... Apparently it's also a beer bar... But breakfast... I had the Full Meat Patch which is... let us say... Generous. In retrospect, the Half would have been fine... Greed. Not cheap (£11.50) but very good value....

So I want to move to Lewes to be near this place. I love the vibe, the coffee, the food but mostly the food. So glad I picked this at random for a meeting everytime I am in Lewes I make sure I go. Also bought a great photo of the old Brighton pier here. Just get there by camel, by handglider by 3 legged rocking horse it is worth it.

Visiting family in Lewes. Found Patch on Trip advisor. Made our way there for breakfast. Delicious eggs, bacon, portobello mushroom, grilled tomatoe, and toast. Asked for two eggs instead of a sausage, no problem. Cappacino very good. A great way to start the day💕💕

To be honest 4 stars is kind. I mean it's okay... For the price bracket the food doesn't really stand up. Coffee is average too. It's okay and that's all that springs to mind.

Quirky bar a little outside of the main centre. But with a more unusual mix of beers and even wines, certainty worth a visit if you want a slightly different experience. Unfortunately a little quiet on our visit, so perhaps lacking the atmosphere that might have added another star.

Nice bright very clean cafe' had a full english two sauces poached egg bacon with toms mushrooms beans and toast got to say will not be eating for the rest of the day ,all locally sourced really good , not so sure on the coffee...

We came in for sandwiches and tea. The sandwiches were in packets but looked homemade. I had a Cajun chicken sandwich which was delicious.

We had a full patch and a half patch English breakfast and it was spot on. Great quality sausages and bacon, eggs perfectly cooked, everything was perfect. Best breakfast I've had for years. Wonderfully unpretentious honest little cafe.

I have tried the full Patch which is the best quality, flavour, presentation and generous portions so I decided to try something different and went for the mashed avocado and what a pleasant surprise!!!! If you want to try a truly fresh mashed avocado, delicious Pico de gallo salsa with best quality bacon and good bread this is it!! No mention the great service and great selection of beers. Thank you so much, definitely big fan!
