The food and coffee are great, when I get the time before I work up the road getting a take away breakfast bun is the highlight of my day. If you have not been you are missing out dreadfully the breakfast is fabulous.

In two minds whether to leave a review as it'll become too busy, but this place is just phenomenal. They got everything right.

Shockingly rude and unfriendly. Tried to have breakfast here with our 2 year old. Staff barely acknowledged us and stood staring while we struggled to find a table with the waitress glaring at us for daring to come in. Ended up just having to leave without eating. Not family friendly. Not friendly in any sense of the word. Avoid.

If you're looking for an amazing all day breakfast then look no further than The Patch. A small little cafe/bar on a narrow street of Lewes. Great portion sizes, reasonably priced. You don't just pay pay for a breakfast here, you pay for quality. I recommend adding the chorizo. The sandwiches are fresh and taste amazing. The coffee is strong and having it black could wake a hibernating bear! They are sh*t hot on allergies when informed making them one of the safer options to visit in town for us awkward people ;) . In short give The Patch a visit. If it's busy then have a look in some of the shops on the High Street and trying aging in 20 minutes or so.

Delicious breakfast in pleasant surroundings served by polite, friendly staff. I'm fussy about my tea and my friend equally so about how her eggs are cooked. Neither were a problem and came just how we like them. Judging by the beer mats on the wall, looks like they get a good range of ales in a bit early in the day for us to confirm the quality.

I'm bored with sandwiches, but when out and on a busy day it sometimes is the only decent option, especially when it comes to 3.30pm and I haven't had breakfast yet. I popped into The Patch in Lewes when passing just to grab something and was struck by the originality and quality of the sandwiches on offer, to the point that not only was I going to get one because I needed it, but because I actually wanted it. I went with smoked salmon and cream cheese, which was of the lesser original conceptions they offered, but that's just what I wanted in that moment. The bread was every bit as good as it looked, and everything about this sandwich was amazing - and it totally filled me up. I'm not a sandwich fan, I'm bored with them, but in my working day they are a necessity, but here I am writing a glowing review! Next time I'm working in Lewes, I'll know where to go. Really, really good.

If you want to know what a good sandwich is go to The Patch. Toasties with hot chicken and bacon salad and mayo..its the best around.

It’s hard to tell if The Patch Lewes is more cafe or tap-room. There's a huge refrigerator full of sandwiches to your right as you walk in and the air smells of frying food, so that’s ticked the cafe vibes. The the walls, however, are decorated with thousands of beer tap POS clip art, which collectively tell a colourful tale of the myriad of wonderful liquids from far and wide that have graced the taps here. The Patch Lewes is a humble yet valuable member of Lewes’ cafe and nighttime landscape. In truth the space could be a bit more comfortable for when you want to hunker down for a beery session. But in central Lewes, you just cannot beat The Patch for modern beer variety.

I’m normally very tolerant and usually don’t bother rating anywhere unless it is really good, but I had to review here, based on reception alone as we didn’t stop. On entering we were greeted by a reasonably polite gentleman, so far so good, we ordered two of the full breakfasts, no problem plus a portion of fries! To which we received a very curt “NO” followed by “we don’t serve fries until after 3, it says so on a big sign out side” when I said sorry I didn’t see it and thought they would do fries he said “No, after 3, that’s what the sign is for.” I refuse to be spoken to in a patronising and rude tone, so with drinks we would have had, they have missed out on around £40 by being rude. Looking at the menu outside it did say from 3 but was hardly a “big sign”, it said it in a not very big font and in colours difficult to read. A simple “sorry, unfortunately we don’t do them until after 3” would have been a more appropriate reply…

Good food. Small venue, so the quality is good. The waitress was lovely and she was singing along to all the songs playing which brought me joy 😊 . I would have gotten a coffee if they had syrups. That's my only recommendation otherwise a great little place for breakfast.

Found through Trip Advisor and glad I did! An excellent value breakfast with high quality ingredients cooked to order - meaty sausages, well-cooked eggs and ‘proper’ bacon. Very happy to recommend.

We stayed in Brighton and wanted breakfast, I saw this place shown on trip advisor and so we drove there, we weren’t disappointed. A real quality english breakfast, they use the best quality bacon and sausages. My wife had the scrambled eggs and salmon. It was so good we came back the next day for a varied breakfast and took away some freshly made sandwiches for lunch. The location is very easy miss it as it’s just off the high street.

Well... Best breakfast in Lewes by a country mile, and I am well versed on lewes breakfasts to say the least! I often frequent this establishment, not jus for the friendly atmosphere, and well-priced menu, but the absolutely tremendous food. I bring my family and visiting friends, but I know that even my son will spend his pocket money here when out and about with his chums. A cup of tea in a proper, no nonsense mug, none of that messing around with incy wincy teacups which seems all the rage these days. And I was ever so delighted to discover the lovely man who used to run the bakery in the bus station is the chef there. Good food with a good mood! Could not recommend more

Popped in to this what I would call a micro pub for a beer. Staff was warm and friendly, the bar is self was warm, bright and seating inside for about 15 - 20 people I would guess. That many people would make it feel very busy, large selection of beers and ales and serves food as well. Pricing was a little on the high side at £7 for a haze real ale and the food on the menu was a bit on the pricey side. I didn't use the facilities, but the sign on the door indicated the restrooms were outside in the back garden. I will return again at some point.

Such a great little gem, staff are super friendly, the place does amazing beer, it’s super quirky, what more could you want. So every time I’ve been here they have some really interesting random beers on tap, it is such a cozy lovely place to have a drink in as well. Always local people who just like a chat The toilets are really interesting to with funky beer mats all over the walls.

Quaint little spot for breakfast - nothing fancy, but the portion sizes are good and the service is friendly and quick. My wife and I both had the vegetarian/vegan breakfast and were both left with our bellies feeling very full, ready to conquer the day.

We had a lovely brunch here. My husband ordered the veggie full breakfast and I had the veggie stack with egg and halloumi. It was very nice, fresh and tasty. The decaf coffee was very good as well (so far the best I had in a coffee place). The place is quite simple, nothing fancy and the staff is friendly and welcoming.

Have been to this venue a few times over the years, we fancied something light on our visit to Lewis today and were not disappointed. Excellent range of delicious combos of sandwiches vege, vegan, meat or fish and breakfast selections for everyone’s taste any time of day, lovely coffee , great service , marvellous tamla motown music and lovely cute outside loo😁

This is officially my favourite breakfast stop!!! Wow!!! Full meat patch is exquisite- the whole atmosphere with great local craft beers and IPAs on tap as well as great music. friendly people who work there, Love it!

Well, this is the place for breakfast in Lewes... Apparently it's also a beer bar... But breakfast... I had the Full Meat Patch which is... let us say... Generous. In retrospect, the Half would have been fine... Greed. Not cheap (£11.50) but very good value....

So I want to move to Lewes to be near this place. I love the vibe, the coffee, the food but mostly the food. So glad I picked this at random for a meeting everytime I am in Lewes I make sure I go. Also bought a great photo of the old Brighton pier here. Just get there by camel, by handglider by 3 legged rocking horse it is worth it.
