Very popular basic cafe serving good quality local food, made on the premises while you wait, to eat in or take away. Customer service is excellent from the cook Jamie. Excellent value for money.

Our group recently visited the Nutmeg Tree in Ditchling for afternoon tea, and it was a lovely experience from start to finish. From the moment we made the booking to the time we left, the staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and accommodating. They made the entire process seamless, which is no small feat when dealing with a group! One thing to highlight is how flexible they were with our requests and changes in numbers. As is often the case with group bookings, we had a few adjustments to make, but the team at Nutmeg Tree handled everything with ease and a smile. The food itself was simply delicious. The afternoon tea spread was beautifully presented, with a wonderful variety of sandwiches, scones, and cakes. Everything was fresh, flavourful, and clearly made with care. It was a real treat, especially the homemade sausage rolls! Overall, I cannot recommend Nutmeg Tree highly enough. After trying the fantastic afternoon tea I am looking forward to returning and trying out some of their other offerings. Thank you Nutmeg Tree!
