The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

We went for our anniversary meal today. From the moment we arrived till we left, the service was exceptional. The staff were so receptive and attentive. The food was exquisite, particularly the chicken momo starter, perfect for the autumnal days. Desserts were presented beautifully. The decor, ambience and vibe of the restaurant was classy. Would definitely love to go again.

Great food and meat portions , friendly staff, reasonable prices. Very kindly advised me not to order too much because I would be full which turned out to be true 🤣.

A group of us visited in November, and the food and service was perfect. As a vegetarian, it was lovely to have so much choice. We were well looked after. Excellent.

Been a few months since my last visit, none the less I was welcomed with a handshake and a smile. Shown to my "usual" table and the beer and poppadoms arrived in 5 mins. I have tried quite a few of their dishes now but am always drawn to my all time favourite Chun Chun Lamb. Rich, thick, spicy but bursting with flavour with all the ingredients identifiable. This is to date the best lamb curry I have had in a restaurant and I've been all over! Quality food, quality service and a nice atmosphere continue to make this a jewel in Plymouths Crown. Please try it!

I visited here for an engagement party recently and its such a beautiful venue. There was a pianist playing which added to the vibe. There was a wide variety of food served to suit all, and the drinks were also very tasty!

Love the Cats Pyjamas, order frequently. Had an issue with an order and Ali the owner was an absolute star, sorted everything for us with excellent service and gave us a free popadoms pickle tray for the trouble. Recommend 100% quick delivery and amazing customer service.

Fantastic restaurant serving up the best authentic dishes. Staff are super friendly, great service and just an all round pleasant atmosphere. I have eaten at a couple of their other branches which were also good, but Oakwood is definitely the best! Would recommend the Lamb Afghani, to die for!

We visited the restaurant in October for the first time in a while and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Fresh quality ingredients, great atmosphere and professional but friendly service. We arrived at 6:00 and explained we needed to be finished by 7:00 as we were off to the theatre. Raj delivered as promised and without being rushed, we were able to leave on time, having all commented on the quality of the food. We’ve visited again on 3 November and opted for dishes recommended by the server. The scallop starter, chicken Golap and king prawn jalfrezi were stand out dishes, although all dishes were very good. An Indian restaurant with excellent, delicious food. I recommend it. I tried their chicken butter curry with biryani rice, very delicious.

Been going to the Royal Spice over 20 years , firstly at Darton and now at Wakefield , can honestly say been elsewhere but nothing compares to the Royal Spice , take a bow guys 👏👏👏👏

A hot, savoury and flavourful meal is exactly what you need after spending a day in the cold/rain that loomed over us in Brighton for the entirety of our trip. Indian Summer provided just that, and more- an exceptional service, friendly staff and really really good food, which was hot and fresh. Me and my friends ordered the sharing starters(meat) which included Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Paneer, Sweet potato and onion bhaji and the samosa chaat! How do I make you believe that each and every one of these items was delectable! I could have ordered another. I also recommend the ‘Mama ji’ Chicken! No amount of Sun-less, cold weather can keep you down if you visit Indian Summer! Thank you.

Amazing! The food is so tasty! And the papads... I felt like I was in heaven!!! Definitely 5/5, and if I could, I would rate it 6/5!

I received my order on time and hot. The lamb balti was so good. Lots of lamb and cooked to perfection. The naan breads were soft and fresh and not dry or burnt like other restaurants I’ve ordered from. I will definitely be ordering again from here and recommend it to anyone. Can’t fault it at all
