Three of us had a very nice meal here. Service was friendly, we didn’t have to wait long for the food, and it was all very tasty. They don’t have an alcohol licence, but will let you bring your own. I definitely recommend it.

I went there and the chicken Balti was very oily and the chicken was very tough and i ordered a keem naan and i got a plain naan but i got charged for a keem naan.

I had a Take away dish that was perfect and just so tasty I felt I had to share it. But I didn't share my food because it was too delicious! Thanks to the chefs.

We went there for the Sunday deal as a family the food was very tasty good portions we felt very welcome and it was about the same price as having fish and chips as a takeaway

Wanted to support a local place but feel this restaurant is better to get a takeaway from. There was no music and no atmosphere as we were the only 2 in there. Also, no chilli sauce which I was very surprised at. Average food, i wouldn't recommend eating in.

I love this place the food is great and Mr Ali is very accommodating you can bring your own alcohol which you can save you abit of money however the last few times it has been very very quite sometimes only us being the one table in the place which makes me very sad because the food is amazing and Mr Ali is soo lovely so if you are reading this please try this restaurant I fear if he doesn't get more people though the door there will be no more Mr Ali taj he needs more people in his restaurant so please give it ago the foods is great and there's somthing for everyone if you like spicey he can make it spicy if you don't like spice he can make it not spicey the best part is he makes every thing fresh so he can adjust to what you like my partner has a thing about onion and with other restaurant my partner finds it hard to order but never at Mr alis because he makes it fresh its an amazing place please try and see for your self

Had the most tasteless tikka masala ,rice was dry ,sagaloo had no taste wot so ever ,very disappointed

So disappointed with my take away tonight. It's usually so nice and the food is usually spot on but today the tarka dhal and chana masala were tasteless. I had to add garlic powder and onion powder and salt which I've never had to do with a take away before. It was genuinely like the chef forgot to season them :(

We ordered form there tonight and the food was delicious! They also made me a side of chana masala upon request, which wasn't on the menu. The man on the phone and the delivery man were both friendly and polite. Definitely ordering from here again, highly recommend :)

Service food and price is amazing

I have to say, this is the best indian food i have ever had. My family have been using this takeaway for years and its always very good, but this last time it was Outstanding!!. Everything was so top notch, that if you were to challenge them to cook along Britain's top chefs, you would not be able to tell the difference when tasting the end result. Would recommend the Butter Chicken - lovely, rich creamy sauce and the chicken is so tender. Naan breads are also exceptional.

Always super service for home delivery. Fantastic food guaranteed to be hot. Shame we couldn’t get through on Saturday night, my weekly highlight. Let’s hope we get through next Saturday. Can’t manage 2 weeks without my Ali taj takeaway, especially at the moment with not much else to look forward to

Went to the Ali Taj or a friends night out, we often go there as the service is very good and food it amazing. I have a nut allergy and I always feel safe while eating in there premises, the staff remember that I have the nut allergy and are very happy to reassure me. Will be visiting again soon .

Great food atmosphere service and not too badly priced.

We visit regularly both for takeaways and to dine in. Staff are excellent. Friendly and knowledgeable and great service. Food is always good with a decent selection of ‘traditional’ dishes as well as some less common specials. Not needed this personally, but noted on a few occasions that they can adapt dishes to suit certain dietary requirements. Overall highly recommended if you’re in the area and worth traveling to if you’re not so local.

Ate here with a large family party. Staff seemed a little bit daunted/overwhelmed but were trying. The older guy (possibly the owner) was running around like a headless chicken, possibly trying to do everything. He could come over to take our order, and then run off when we would be mid-sentence to answer the phone, then come back to start again. It was fine though, it gave us a giggle. Once the orders were in, all of our drinks came no problem and food took a little while but that's expected. The food was fantastic - all full of flavour and everyone was pleased with their meals. All in all a lovely little restaurant, I would go back anytime.

Best Indian Restaurant in Soham

Been coming here for years so thought it was about time I left a review after yet another lovely meal today with my party of 8 people. Always go for the Sunday buffet, which is excellent value for money. Food is excellent, buffet is continuely topped up, and drinks are very reasonably priced too. Service is always very friendly and attentive, but leave you to stay as long as you want, without any pressure to vacate your table. Highly recommended.

One of the best Indian meals I have ever had. Ali Taj do fantastic take away so I thought I would take my wife and parents for a sit down meal and it was amazing, the owner was attentive the food was fantastic and very fairly priced. Will definitely be going back

Best Indian cuisine in Soham. Ali Taj staff are always super friendly and the food has been great every time I've eaten there. They offer a buffet lunch on Sunday afternoons, which is a great chance to try things you might not ordinarily order a full portion of. You can order directly or they are on Just Eat too.

We have been eating here for just shy of 10 years. The welcome is always warm, friendly and with smile. The food is brilliant. Really good flavours and all tastes very fresh. Do not be afraid to ask for recommendations based on your own tastes as the management and staff are always very happy to suggest dishes that will suit you, and also ask the chef to tailor the flavour if required. Mongoose draught beer is delicious and always ice cold. Management are always very receptive to any feedback and prices are very reasonable. There is another Indian restaurant in town which I hear is very good, but we have never used because we are absolutely satisfied with every meal at Ali Taj. 10/10

Slow service, chips weren’t cooked properly and the food came with extras that was explicitly asked to come without which has ruined the food as the extras were put on top and now the food underneath tastes of it.

Great place for a reasonably priced enjoyable meal.

We went with friends and received a friendly welcome, the service could not be faulted and the food extremely well cooked, flavoursome and beautifully presented. The menu provided a variety of dishes, some different from the usual fare. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We will certainly be returning very soon.

My boyfriend and I regularly get takeaways and eat in at Ali Taj too. The food always tastes amazing, and is reasonably priced. The Sunday buffet is amazing, and we love going! Good choice of food and happy to bring more or cook something for you if you want it. The only reason I knock down a star is because of the decor in the restaurant, it is a bit outdated, but would never be enough to put us off the food!

The best Curry in Town will always use them .

Ordered a meal for two hungry people. The onion bhajees were OK, the samosas tiny and tasteless. The King prawn korma contained very small prawns. The garlic and chilli veggie dish was certainly spicy hot but hardly authentic. The naan bread was thick but not good. The pilau rice was the best thing in the bag. Go elsewhere for a curry.

Lo que hizo más especial fue que al final de la comida nos dieron gratis barrios de naranja para refrescar nuestra paleta y ofrecieron un licor de cortesía que es algo que no muy a menudo. Bien merece una visita.

We were a family party of 13 & enjoyed a superb meal here last night. The food was delicious & all tasted freshly cooked - I loved my mushroom Pakura starter and the vegetable garlic chilli Korahi was seriously to die for. The waiters were all very friendly, polite & efficient. I have no hesitation in recommending the Ali Taj to anyone & look forward to eating here again the next time I am in Soham.

So all the Indian food I've had before left me unimpressed, but this place was amazing. It all tasted quite fresh and with wonderful flavor. I would gladly go here again!

We have eaten here on their banquet nights where the food is great quality and you choose your starter, main, side etc for a set price and even the hungriest person will struggle to finish it all. But on a Sunday they do a fairly broad range as a family buffet, including some extras such as potato wedges, so even fussy children are catered for.The food is not to the standard of other times, but the value is outstanding. There are salads, fruit and cake on a side table in addition to the hot buffet, under 4's eat free, 5-9's only cost £3.95 and everyone else is £7.95 for as much as they can eat. You even get coffee and mints after. The staff are so polite and friendly. We have had many extended family lunches there for birthdays and they have even decorated the table. If you are going as a large party you will need to book, but for a family or couple it has always been fine to just turn up.
