My goodness what a gem. Had the best curry here outside India. Very delicious. Nice clean pleasant surroundings. Food fresh and tasty well presented. Being vegetarian I opted for the kadhai paneer with a peshwary nan which was delicious and not sweet like many other restaurants. My son chose the thali. We were both impressed. Such reasonable prices and the portions are good. We will be back and definatly if I ever order a take away it will be from here. 10 out of 10. Fantastic. Please consider cookery classes for the public as I would love to learn to cook these delicious dishes.

Visited Aanya Indian restaurant one Saturday evening, the service is good and was reasonably busy for a Saturday. Had the Naga chilli curry, this was a very hot dish, all you could taste was the heat from the Naga chillis it over powered the taste of the dish. Bottles of beer are a bit on the expensive side. Would maybe give some other Indian dishes a try.

Bought a variety of dishes from a market in Grimsby. Onion bajis were lovely, the lamb was very good, balti and chicken curry was very soup like and tasted watery. The biryani, although tasted ok, had tinned veg in and bizarrely it had sprouts in it. Strangest Indian cuisine I have ever had.

Not worth the price you’re local takeaway is probably just as good if not better.

First time ordered food from this place. Not happy with the quality of food. Lamb curry was excessive HOT, which wasn’t stated on the menu. Masala fries are not fully cooked either!

Came in for some food with my fiancé, our local was closed so we decided to try Aanya. We were pleasantly surprised! The waiter for very attentive and friendly. The food was very nice, full of flavor and not oily. We really enjoyed the meal and found the restaurant very beautiful. The glass spice pictures on the wall are very tasteful . We will definitely be back , highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I ordered from Deliveroo. It's not authentic Indian food. Looks like some kids are cooking food for a school project. Stop googling around and do something worthy. Never order from Aanya unless you hate food. Was an amazing evening. The food was amazing. Something for everyone from vegetarian options like vegetable samosas, Aloo pakora, bindi saabzi and Dall. For the meat lovers karak rolls, butter chicken, chicken masala, meat mince. Entertainment was out of this world. DJ belted out some great songs and the dhol player was great. Staff were all amazing. Would come again.

Food was nice (poppadoms, chicken pakora, chicken jalfrezi, mushroom rice, garlic naan) but service was a little slow. We were sat down for an hour before we received our starters. Drinks were expensive. £6.95 for 330ml bottle of Kingfisher. And drinks weren’t listed on the menu. Perhaps because of prices? To their credit, drinks bill was reduced for us after we questioned it. But drinks prices should be made clearer.

Insipid, bland and flavourless starters of lamb chops and tandoori chicken followed by 2 dismal curries. Cheap, greasy ingredients, very poor.

Lovely food. We have eaten in the restaurant before and enjoyed it so much we thought we would check to see if they delivered. The food matched up to that served inside. Both had lamb meals and they were really nice.

Come across aanyas in Bridlington so I thought I would try them and it’s probably one of the best Indians I’ve had! Chicken curry and rice was delicious. The two staff members H and Mohid were great help and very kind. I will be back next Saturday most definitely.

Disappointment, especially the peshwari naan and gulab jamon - a substitute they sent for the other dessert, which is completely different, without contacting me beforehand to offer the option of a refund.

Nice restaurant with good staff friendly service and excellent food

Had Chicken Biryani which was bland it tasted like rice with a bit of chicken in no flavour at all & I didn't get a sauce with it, it always comes with a sauce! Mushroom rice was just as tasteless, the rara was ok. £29 !! I'll stick with our local restaurant in future.

As an Indian couple we are always ultra critical about Indian restaurants and thought we’d try this out. Jamil met us at this fantastic restaurant with a friendly nature and lots of enthusiasm. He explained the menu and the food choices clearly and we were absolutely blown away with the high quality food on offer, cooked perfectly extremely fresh and hardly zero oil. We both eat very healthily so was an excellent choice for our tastes. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning to try other dishes. Thanks to all the team.

This our first time at this restaurant. We were not disappointed. We shared a vegetarian platter and my wife had the Palak Paneer for main course. I had the Chana Masala. We also ordered 1 portion of pilau rice which was enough for the two of us together with a peshawari naan. The whole meal was absolutely delicious. My wife wanted a very mild dish and the waiter said that was no problem as all the food was cooked to the customer's wishes. We didn't have room for dessert! Service was excellent. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and are looking forward to our next visit! Thank you to all the staff.

Very quiet on a Subday afternoon but great food more like home cooking than your average Indian.

This was our 6th visit to Aanya on Street Lane. All the staff are very welcoming and helpful. We have enjoyed our meals on every visit, excellent food, great service and very clean would recommend.

A lovely pastry filled with lamb. Masala chips were lush. And the tandoori chicken was v generous and superb. Plus a little puri with chicken similar to a chat (bhatura). Which was excellent. Clearly using top quality ingredients. Trying and succeeding at being a bit different and innovative and it works. Felt like a step up from anything I have had in 40 years.a new favourite for sure. Went here the other night, thought the waiter brought soup instead of the curry as you couldnt see any meat till you poured it out, and cobra way too expensive at nearly £7 a bottle!! Could be a lot better. Won't be back.

Called in mid week on spec at 9pm. Fitted us in no problems. Great fresh and tasty food at reasonable prices. Would highly recommend and will be back for more.

We were served by a young man, Alizeh, who was so helpful in advising us about how spicy our choices were. He couldn't have been more helpful. The food was tasty and well presented. I highly recommend this Indian restaurant.

Excellent service and delicious food! My family of 4 loved Aanya’s. This was our first visit and we were really impressed by the hospitality. The manager went above and beyond for us and the owner took such great care of us. Butter Chicken and Veg curry were perfect. We will certainly be visiting again when next in Leeds. A genuine gem in the north of Leeds and very reasonably priced.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever tried. I travel out or my way and pass many of the larger well known Indian restaurants to eat here! All food is freshly made to order. True 100% authentic home cooked food as it should be. (Without the added flavor enhancers like MSG and other additives that make you feel super thirsty and bloated!) Fresh ingredients, full of exciting and interesting flavoroversightent choice of dishes on the menu, (despite the menu changing slightly, recently). The service has always been fantastic, family friendly. Although it wouldn't hurt to smile and ask how the meal/food is. The restaurant itself is spotlessly clean and tidy which really makes you feel at home. It's always warm and cosy with fitting music that isn't too loud or too quiet. Pricing is very reasonable and the portion sizes are just right. Although, I have noticed a little less meat in my dish the last time I visited..I hope this is a one off oversight? Other than the few small issues, I can't recommend this place enough for the amazing food and superb value.

A very disappointing curry place. Lacked flavour and just seemed out of a box. The lamb chops was just dry and tasteless. The sundries were good. The roti was soft and the customer service was good. You would assume that a curry place in streetlane would be average at the minimum. We definitely wouldn’t be going back again. Hopefully they will up their game and bring out some tasty dishes than this. Also there is a charge for plastic boxes if you have to take home any left over meals.

Meena, the owner, is one of the warmest, most gracious human beings I have ever met. She went over and above to welcome myself and my family. Even babysitting our four month, old daughter! The restaurant is spotless, large and comfortable. The food is fresh and exquisite! The staff are wonderful. I have never been in a restaurant with such impeccable service. All the food was lovely. Flavourful, hot and fresh. If I had to nitpick anything it would be to say the pickle tray portion size is a bit on the small size for the amount of popadoms you get.

Ordered in an empty restaurant for takeaway took nearly an hour. Gave a half on house hence extra star. Mushroom rice was good, dal was ok and cooked as requested. Naan awful, barely cooked, prawns in jalfezi clearly frozen with no flavour. Never seen chicken Tikka like it, just chicken smothered with spices; awful.

My family and I attended the Bollywood Charity event at Aanya’s and it was so much fun, great food, great atmosphere. The staff are very welcoming and fun loving. Would certainly recommend!

Whole experience was fantastic, great food, service and Atmosphere. Even things like Poppadoms were better than the ones we have normally been used to. Likewise the Lamb Chops were in a League above. Thank you for a great meal.

I visited Aanya tonight with friends. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Couldn’t fault it, great atmosphere, great service and great price. We all said we would definitely return and we will now be regularly ordering from Deliveroo too!

We have visited Aanyas twice in the last month with friends and family and both times have been a fantastic experience. Great food and a very warm welcome from really attentive staff.. an overall excellent meal both times. Definitely 5*’s

TLDR: Spilled food, ill next day and the only restaurant to ever give me a bill twice! The curry tasted fine and the service was polite. Glasses and plates didn't get cleared very quickly, but it was one waiter working a Saturday night, and not a huge concern of ours. When serving the main meal the waiter spilled one of the dishes into another on the table, making a huge mess, luckily of the table rather than myself or my guests. No problem, these things happen, they were nice about it, cleaned the table and recooked and reserved the ruined dishes. There was lots of crashing from the bar and kitchen. I think a few items of glassware were smashed that night. End of meal we'd spent £40 per person. It was early and we still had drinks, so we continued chatting. We were the last in the restaurant but we'd been assured we could take our time. After about 15 minutes, they brought us the bill a second time in an effort to move us on. This was at 21:40 on a Saturday night. I was not impressed. We semi-expected to have some offer of compensation for the spilled food. They gave us "vouchers" as an apology, which were in fact just their January marketing offer available to all. The next day I and another of our party were ill with queasiness/tummy upset. Possibly alcohol, but just as possibly food. I don't think we'll be returning.

Shocking. The prawns were inedible, the sauce tasted like it was out of a tin. The worst Indian I’ve had in years. Borderline inedible. Staff were unmoving. Because I’d eaten a prawn they wouldn’t refund. But you only know it’s inedible when you’ve tried it!! Avoid, there’s so many better options in Leeds

Since this restaurant has been open I have ordered weekly… the last 3 or 4 weeks the food quality has dropped, which is very sad a disappointing.

The chef hasn't got a clue of traditional Indian cuisine. I am an Indian and I can cook way better food than this place. Other places in Leeds such as Shimla, Akbar, Aagrah and even smaller takeaways like Charcoal chicken, Ruchi etc. are so much better than this restaurant. I wouldn't go here again even if they gave me free food.
