Love the Cats Pyjamas, order frequently. Had an issue with an order and Ali the owner was an absolute star, sorted everything for us with excellent service and gave us a free popadoms pickle tray for the trouble. Recommend 100% quick delivery and amazing customer service.

Was lucky enough to visit the cats pyjamas for a family birthday meal. We were met by friendly staff and shown to our table and a drinks order was taken while we viewed the menu. We ordered a couple of portions of popadoms and pickle trays and some onion bhaji's. For our mains we each chose something different, tikka, butter chicken a vegan dahl and I had the dhaba chicken and vegetable rice we also ordered a couple of garlic naans. We were very impressed by the portions and even more so by the quality of the dishes, it was all absolutely gorgeous!. We also had two rounds of drinks each the bill came to just over a hundred pounds which we considered to be very good value for money. We live in York but are quite frequent visitors to Leeds, this was our first visit to the cats pyjamas and already looking forward to the next. Would definitely recommend 👍

Truly the best restaurant in Leeds! The food is always incredible. It's a perfect place to bring visiting friends and family as you are guaranteed excellent food! The staff are lovely and the place has a very nice relaxed atmosphere.

Really delicious food and great portion sizes. Unfortunately we were in a rush to go watch the cricket and didn’t get to eat all our food, so the staff kindly boxed it up and let us collect after the cricket had finished so we could enjoy at home - great service too!

Came because of the reviews but was rather underwhelmed and £95 for 3 people with just two starters, 3 mains and one drink each seemed hefty. The lack of sauce with the main dishes meant there really was no difference in the dishes we chose they all tasted the same and were too dry. The menu was limited. Garlic naans were tasteless and unseasoned. Wouldn’t return.

Great food. We had onion bhajis for starter which were great. For mains the dhal and the railway potatoes with rice and naan. All were delicious. Good selection of beers including some craft options. All at a good price.

We had a very, very good meal here, the staff is friendly and the food is so good! Sure, they're next to a very busy road, but we still had the most amazing time. The entrance is wheelchair-friendly, though the toilets are not accessible if wheelchair-bound. The staff is very nice, and truly all-Indian. The chef here is very good!

One of the best and authentic Indian restaurants in Leeds. Having tried various other Indian restaurants, coming back to cats pyjamas is always a treat. The quality of food is really good and authentic. Poppadoms are light and not greasy, with the best pickle tray. Had the paneer and Bombay keema curry for main with cheese naan. Both dishes were really good, the keema curry is the best I've tasted anywhere.

Just popped in for a quick main course whilst waiting for granddaughter who was rehearsing Rhinestones dancing routines at Headingley stadium. Quick service, good food and nice ambience. My Kerelan fish curry was stuffed with haddock and the mango lassi was very refreshing. Both our curries were very tasty and generous portions meant we did not need a dessert. Just as well as they don’t serve them! Definitely going back when next needing an early dinner in Headingley.

I've been here a few times. The food is outstanding, mushroom pakara are amazing crispy and juicy. Punjabi Lamb is lovely with a nice bit of spice to it. The service is spot on, the waiters are polite and attentive. Highly recommend a visit.

I messaged ahead about this and the staff really pulled out every stop to make the evening a special one to remember. They were all lovely and we had a brilliant evening. Not only that but the food was absolutely lovely, and was extremely affordable for what we got. 10/10, not a single complaint, thanks so much to the Cats Pyjamas and all the staff.

My beautiful partner Mia and I have been ordering takeaway from Cats Pyjamas for a couple of years now and it’s always been excellent, but last night we thought we’d finally have a sit down meal as we live locally. The waiters were across the board lovely, fast and super attentive. The food came quickly and was delicious as always. It was so filling that we took some home and they bagged this up for us. The restaurant itself is compact, but warm and inviting. Would recommend to anyone!

Amazing food, lovely delivery driver

Order was wrong (I ordered butter paneer but received butter chicken). The food was also very late, and we could see the delivery driver making stops at other restaurants and delivering them before coming to us. The food was very nice when it arrived.

I’ve been tempted to try this place for a while and finally came for a family meal tonight. It really lived up to my expectations. Delicious food and friendly service. This is a little gem which I hope to visit again before too long.

We visit Cat's Pyjamas quite regularly and are always well fed and well looked after. We arrived on Wednesday about 6.45 and managed to get a table downstairs but not long after it was upstairs only. It always amazes us how many Deliveroo/Uber Eats drivers call here suggesting it is popular with the eat at home brigade. We both had starters onion bhaajis and fish masala then Chicken Jalfrezi and Railway Curry. Excellent choices and we will be back soon.

A lively, vibrant and very cool Indian restaurant. The staff were wonderful, incredibly attentive and friendly. (We had a chat about our servers favourite Bollywood music that was on the play list!) Food was tasty and portions very generous. In fact if you are having a starter as a couple you might consider sharing the main. We loved the vibrant/industrial decor. A more casual experience than other more formal places. We went without a booking. My husband particularly enjoyed the chicken curry and they were the fluffiest Naan breads we have ever had.

My third visit since 2018 and each time the food is still spot on. The Dhaba traditional chicken curry is an absolute winner which is what we had this visit. Garlic naan bread bigger than a plate so perfect size to share. Perfectly sized portion of curry and rice and with everythi g all together it made for the perfect evening meal. Decor is bright and bold, service is swift and friendly. We arrived late after 9pm on a Sunday but they were happy to seat us and make us welcome. Always will pop in here if I'm back in the area. Can you open one up in Bournemouth?? 😃

we came here this morning and it wasn’t great at all, we ordered a the larger full English and a veggie breakfast which wasn’t bad but everything seemed to be soaked in oil, it was really greasy, we also ordered a pot of tea, the milk came in a filthy glass jar that looked like it hasn’t ever been cleaned and had a strange smell, also the saucers for the cups were also dirty, the chef also came outside to sit on the wall with a towel hanging from his pocket which he was sat on, on the outside wall and then I’m asuming will be going to use inside the kitchen, the staff were all pleasant bht unfortunately we won’t be returning.

Ordered via Deliveroo- and were massively disappointed. The Achari paneer tikka was hard and bland, the chicken kesari tikka was overly fiery and not flavourful at all, and the butter chicken was heartbreakingly bad- apart from the cloying sweetness of the curry, the chicken itself was chewy and tasteless.

We needed something to eat at around 5pm and thought The Cat’s Pyjamas looked interesting and good for a light meal before an evening event. We ordered five starters (small plates) between two of us which was more than enough, but we ate it all (despite being full) as it was so delicious. The Cobra IPA was lovely and our waitress (Sushma) was really friendy. It was just over £40 for two pints of beer and five dishes. Highly recommended!

Absolutely stunning, We called in for an impromptu dinner on Tuesday evening, of all the food places in the area this was the busiest and we can see why. The team were very welcoming, pleasant and obviously love working here. The food is another level, we started with poppadoms and chutney, I noticed a family eating pain puri, I've never seen these before so asked one of the team what they were, after she described them we had to have some and they were wonderful, my wife ordered the Matar paneer with a peshwari naan, I had Dhabi chicken with a chilli and coriander naan, we had these with vegetable pilau rice. This may have been our first visit here but it certainly won’t be our last

Such a great place! Lovely decor and the food is absolutely amazing with lots of twists and lovely touches to the way the food is created. Butter Paneer was so tasty and plain naan bread so so fresh. Would recommend and we will return! My only way to improve would to be to have a children's menu although staff were accommodating in providing chicken nuggets and chips when asked.

The food here is incredible. We were unsure as to how much food to order between two of us as we wanted to try a few of the street bites and a curry and the waitress was very helpful with her recommendations. Ordered the Kolkata chaat, fish masala and okra fries off the street bites menu and Punjabi lamb with a garlic naan. The flavours were out of this world and the naan was perfect, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Will definitely be returning!

Terrible attitude towards people with coeliac disease

Gilafi Seekh kebab was a great portion size. Tasted great with nice juicy meat with a nice mix of spices. Garlic naan was a decent size and tasted of garlic. Channa Dhaal had a fair bit of oil on top but was nice and spicy and really pleasant to eat..

Visited on a Tuesday evening delicious food in particular the Kolkata Chaat salad, onion bhajis chef special fish masala, naan breads….in fact we loved everything! Fish masala was a massive portion and tastes even better today. Service was friendly and swift. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

In India we would not call it an Indian restaurant. They just amalgamated the Indian and British taste. 😀 Not going 2nd time.

Lamb hyderabadi is reliably tasty, pulao rice is fragrant and has a great portion size. Plain and cheese naan are both incredible, best part of the dish aside from the curry. Recommend this place for dining in and taking away. Chicken tikka masala is also very high quality, you can tell the chicken has been in a tandoori before added to the sauce. Beautiful food

I went here for a friend’s birthday and ordered the chicken Jalfrezi. This was a special and somewhat more expensive than the average menu price item. I noticed that there were tiny pieces of shredded/disintegrated chicken everywhere in the sauce. Not at all what I expected. The photos here show the sauce. When the waiter checked in with us, I mentioned this. The waiter went away and then returned, stating that the pieces were egg not chicken. I was left puzzled as to why I’d expect egg in a chicken Jalfrezi. My friend and I inspected the sauce and concluded that this was definitely not egg, but tiny pieces of shredded/disintegrated chicken. What a shame. And what a terrible dining experience. One of the good indian restaurants around headingly. Although the ambience could be improved the staff are friendly and have a good grasp to recommend the best recipe available. I was being served by Dinesh and Sush who were great. I tried the mushroom pakora as recommended by them and I was absolutely not disappointed. I would recommend this dish to anyone. While the food is very good, don’t bother ordering through their website for collection. Twice I’ve been let down. The first time they didn’t register my order, and then gave my order to a deliveroo driver (while I was in the restaurant waiting!) leaving me waiting over an hour to collect.
