i have last night food from this restaurant but I really don’t like food the taste was not very good And and customer service is very, very poor high price of food is not very good I never see like this food in my life I think this restaurant need to focus on taste and customer service and food was not cooked properly and I was travel from Manchester to this restaurant be honest I don’t like this food need to work on taste 👎👎👎😡waste my time to go there

Used to go to Bradford mumtaz alot then I was not very happy with food and service so I stopped then as a group we went to Leeds mumtaz and was very happy since then been a number of times always good food and good service would recommend to all 5 stars brilliant thanks to all staff 😀

Restaraunt decorated in versatile style black n silver, 1.5million in 2008....food was excellent, ...park at armoury car park, . 20mins stroll thru canal refurbished area, parking steep, £7 ...

First and last time visiting this place. It is unfortunate, the man who started this brand Mumtaz, named it after his mother. No one greets you on entering the building, the place looks run down. A loudspeaker on, with flashing lights. Not a good atmosphere for a restaurant, which has families and elderly dining. Very chaotic regarding staff. With some just standing around staring at guest. Could not tell who the staff were, or who was the customer. I guess this is to confuse the customer. Waiter was terrible. Do not understand, why you give customers the black pad with information that, makes no sense of the order. I guess, once again, this is to confuse the customer and charge them more than they should pay for. Which is what happened to us. Receipts do not show price of items ordered. And some of the items do not even match the description on the menu. Food was below average, the curries were over spiced, to hide the meat, vegetables ect. You need to look at all the comments and improve on them all asap. If you are going to employ people from India and Sub-Saharan Africa. You need to train them properly.

Can management please provide Nayab with customer focussed training, just had the worst telephone conversation ever… she really loves the sound of her own voice!

The food was good. The only thing that didn't click me was the breakdown of the order againt each item, that I believe every restaurant provides.

Lamb leg roast was great but Lamb karahi was third class worst karahi ever very smelly.

Went to do iftari with my son and daughter in law we had reserved a booking. Starters arrived on time three times we had to ask for basic refreshments no water was served too, when my son called the waitress she started to rude when my son questioned where the drinks were and implied to my son to not shout and he's "not the only one that is fasting " instead of getting our drinks another waitress came and brought our drinks , regardless of fasting if poppadoms or starters are served customers should be served with drinks there was no need for the waitress to show attitude put me off I don't think I will be coming again

Food was alright but service was absolutely shocking. All the staff were really rude, not friendly and rushed us to order when we were simply asking questions about certain food on the menu.

The food is always fantastic and the service is as always impecable. A special thank you to Tala who took such good care of us and the kids.

Visited again after so 9 years. Restaurant food was good and service was spot on. Some of the furnishings look tired, dirty and needs a makeover. Smell coming in toilets which needs sorting. My biggest issue was the volume of the music. We were sat in middle where they had a big speaker blasting music. Just ruins the atmosphere. Some new branding in place with perfumes, cigars and other food products.

Terrible customer service. Meal not delivered and even though I tried to compromise and agree a solution the staff member hung up on me, despite me trying to resolve the issue amicably.

Worst 😔 lamb leg I ever had in my life

We went yesterday evening, a party of 13. We ordered two lamb leg feasts which came with rice, potatoes, peppers, onions and gravy. It was tasty and enjoyed by everyone. I felt there could have been more potatoes. It was a limited special offer price of £49.99. I wouldn't pay the full price of £89, too pricey for what you get.

Went there last night had the most amazing meal, my friends who have not been for a while were blown away with the food and service.

Naveed in reception is fantastic warm and welcoming always. The food again was absolutely fantastic at the Mumtaz in the leeds today. Excellent service, we had great food and in food and quality , after a very long toe we enjoyed food today and was 100% and to our satisfaction. He remembers us as regulars, and we don’t often complain because we love the food the taste and the quality. So thanks so much and u are face of. Great atmosphere and location, however service was quite slow and chaotic. Food was very average specially their naan breads are fairly disappointing. I have not seen such naan breads before, these were more like a soggy thin crust pizza. Currys and rice were also of average taste. I have eaten before at the Bradford Branch a few years ago, however I must say that experience this time was disappointing.

Food is really good but we won't be going back. Car park is hard to find and doesn't feel the safest. On the menu it says bills cannot be split and there is a £1.50 charge to take food you have already paid for home in a doggy bag. Plus it's an alcohol free zone

Disappointing visit to Mumtaz Leeds on a Saturday. Have been to Mumtaz Bradford and have enjoyed the ambience and food so decided to try the Leeds one. Had booked a table for 4 at 7.30pm, when we reached it was very crowded and there were lots of people waiting for tables. The man at Reception asked if we had booked, I showed him the booking and the reminder email that I had got earlier that day. He said that the bookings were not coming through to the restaurant. He also said many people had turned up without booking. We were happy to wait and got a table within 20 minutes. The restaurant was extremely busy, and service was slow and our waiter seemed overworked and grumpy. Most disappointing was the food which was only average at best. This is not the experience I would expect from a restaurant like Mumtaz. Overall a disappointing evening. I will prefer to go to the Bradford one next time.

Lamb chops were off not fresh and chewey Lamb hamdi was too oiley and Lamb was old and dark Butter chicken was soaked in salt Chicken pakors were dry like sand Service was terrible took 1 hr for food and drinks had no ice Never again didn't even eat tye food didn't want to get bad belley so paid for food which we didn't eat and ended up at flames takeaway with burger and chips! Mumtaz in leeds is terrible !

Mix grill not good very disappointed

Food was very stale, sent one dish back, but could have sent most of the food back. Liver tikka, kebabs, chops, chicken tikka all tasted old and dry. Previously had been there 1yr ago and food was much better, will not be going back anytime soon.

Their toilets were completely out of order… but they did not tell us when we arrived, they told us when it was too late to do anything g about it and all of our guests had arrived. The only working toilet in the vicinity was at a bar across the water that had ONE cubicle. There was soon a queue of 15 people waiting to use this toilet. Service was also lacklustre and they made so many mistakes with our order and some staff were rude. But the food was alright.

I visited Mumtaz Restaurant on 19/12/2024 and found the ambiance and setting to be quite attractive. The waiter who served us was polite and accommodating. However, I had some disappointing experiences with the food. There was a hair in my starter, which was unsettling, though the waiter promptly replaced the plate upon my request. Later, when the mains arrived, they were not what I had ordered. After bringing this to their attention, I had to wait an additional 40 minutes for the correct dish. In total, I waited over an hour after my starter, which impacted the overall dining experience. While the ambiance and service were commendable, the quality and delivery of the food fell short of expectations. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be returning.

The food was very good. Our host Talha was very efficient and courteous. Our Christmas dinner definitely went awesome.

Very nice restaurant, went here for a works Xmas dinner, food was plentyful and delicious but did take a little while to arrive, but this was probably due to our large party size.

Biryani wasent at its best standard as one would expect in such a restraunt, Chicken barbq was not fresh , was warmed too much in an oven, papodom Nd pickle tray was the best Nd the strawberry ice-cream.

An ok restaurant,Ambience and decor are nice. we waited only 5mns to be seated so it started good. We were seated near window so had a vue of the dock and boats which was nice. My seat cover was quite stained so had to turn in around to be able to seat down. Service was good and quick but to be honest the food was average. I prefer the Bradford one by far,the starters were hit and miss and the mains disappointing.They had a good range of mocktails but that's the only good point. We paid £115 for 4 people, ordered a portion of chicken pakoras which were nice,seekh kebabs, which were quite dry,pani puri which didn't have any flavour and fish masala which was nice. Followed by chicken karahi no spice or flavour, chicken stir fry was not nice at all, just sweet couldn't taste anything else and chicken steak which was so dry and really really plain . I really wanted to love it and have a nice meal but didn't work for me. Sorry

Went there for a large family get together, service and atmosphere were great but food lacked the usual Mundas taste. We ordered masala fish, mixed grill starters and a range of karahis.

We went here last night as we are staying in the holiday inn nearby. What a beautiful restaurant. The food was so tasty and a really good sized portion. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Food was okay not as great as Akbars in all honesty. If you like bland food then this is the place for you. Sign posting is very difficult to see, need to sort that out especially from car park onwards.

Went here for food for the first time with family we ordered 3 mixed grills waited 40 mins for this food when it came it was not hot no sizzle at all food was like warm display of the food did not look appealing we called a member of staff told them she went away few minutes later came back and told us we have a trainee chef we couldn’t believe it a place like that and a trainee chef made tht food he had just warmed it up and it was served. What a joke then the drinks we ordered was full of sugar and watered down the whole experience was not good we would not go ther again and do not recommend this place to anyone . We was charged for 2 mixed grills what we didn’t eat because the food was disgusting 🤮. Not professional not run well not organised just a mess up staff .

I recently visited Mumtaz Restaurant in Leeds and had a fantastic experience! Our favourite place to go for food with family and friends, its always amazing! never a fail

Firstly walked in and felt like i was at a grocery store! They were selling chapatti flour, oud, incense sticks and all sorts! The food was not fresh. The mint sauce on my pickle tray had gone off! I let them know and they didn't even bother to get me a fresh pickle tray but made me pay for the poppadoms I'd bought to go with the pickle tray. Horrendous service. The lady with a niqab was a plonker and took my pickle tray but didn't even come back and say anything to me. My husband asked for a coca cola before we left and we were sat waiting for approx 15 minutes but the guy was too busy flirting with his colleagues. Absolute shambles and definitely won't go again. When we were paying the man asked how everything was and we told him, he didn't apologise. Most importantly I've had an upset stomach since last night and it's given me the runs! Worst dining experience.

The food was upto the mark as always. Brother Yaseen serviced as very fast and everyone started the food at the same time. Ambience is very good. Wings was lovely.

Came to Leeds on a spur weekend, as we stayed on the dock in an holiday in express there were a few restaurants in area but we wanted to try something very authentic with a punch wow so pleased we stepped in Amazing flavours, very authentic. Terrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs! We recently visited Mumtaz Leeds with my family and my sister’s family for what we hoped would be a nice treat, but it turned out to be an absolute disaster. The food was beyond horrible—disgusting and awful. It genuinely felt like we were served expired or leftover food. The starters were shocking: • The wings were bloody and undercooked. • The chicken tikka was so tough it was impossible to chew. • Lamb chops were swimming in oil instead of being grilled. • The kebabs were alarming—they looked and tasted like they were made from rotten chicken or meat. • And to make matters worse, we found two hairs in our dishes. When we informed the waiter about this, he simply took all the starters away without any explanation and never brought them back. The main course was just as bad—absolutely no flavor or taste whatsoever. I spoke to the manager, hoping for some accountability or resolution, but all he did was offer a half-hearted apology, saying he couldn’t do anything about it. No attempt to make things right. And for all this, we were charged £209.70! This was by far the worst dining experience we’ve ever had. My advice: AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! Do not take your loved ones here unless you want them to get sick afterward. They may have the name, but trust me, they absolutely do not have the taste, quality, or care for their customers. Never Visit them Again. Until they change their chef or train the staff properly, stay far away from Mumtaz Leeds!

I had an incredibly frustrating experience with this mumtaz customer service. I was on hold for waiting tables ;it was fully empty only to be transferred between multiple waiters who clearly had no plan to help me. They were rude, unhelpful, and seemed completely uninterested in resolving my issue. Absolutely unacceptable and disappointing service!"

Travelled over from Chesterfield for a weekend away and prebooked a table, arrived early and were greeted by the staff with friendly vibes. Quickley seated (given options as it wasnt too busy at the time we went), food ordered and arrived at our table quickly. By far one of the best, authentic, restaurants visited in the area! Starters were very nice. Mains were average. Service was good. Free parking is good.

Vegetarian and non vegetarian starters were mixed and shared. It should have been a basic sense of sharing it separately and people could take as per their choice.

Title: Disappointing Experience – Rude Staff and Unreasonable Policy at Mumtaz Leeds I recently attended an evening meal at Mumtaz Leeds to celebrate a relative's anniversary, with around 40 guests in attendance. While the décor was beautiful and the food I managed to eat was delicious, the overall experience was marred by a truly disappointing interaction with the staff. My wife, who had been feeding our young children, didn’t even get the chance to enjoy her meal as the food had gone cold by the time she sat down to eat. After we had finished what little we could, I approached a tall waiter who I believe was the head waiter. I asked if we could pack up the leftover food to take home. His response? A blunt "No, you can’t. It’s a set menu and has been discounted, so you can’t take it home." I was shocked by his tone, but when I pointed out that the food would likely go to waste, he told me, "No, we’ll either feed it to the staff or donate it to charity." He even had the nerve to suggest that if we wanted takeaway, we should have ordered it in the first place. In over 40 years of dining at countless restaurants, I have *never* been told I couldn't take home food that I had paid for. The total bill was likely close to £1000, so this isn’t some small matter. If this is indeed a policy of Mumtaz Leeds, then they urgently need to review it. It’s absurd that paid-for food would be denied to the customers who ordered it, especially when it’s a set menu and not a buffet. What makes it even worse is that multiple guests from our party also requested to take their leftover food home, including the person footing the bill, and yet they were given the same ridiculous response. If the waiter was on some kind of power trip, then he needs to be reprimanded immediately. Frankly, this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I’d advise anyone considering Mumtaz Leeds to think twice. If this is how they treat paying customers, they’ve certainly lost my business. Absolutely disgraceful.

The food was aight tbh, like many other places, just a standard Indian place, nothing special, the service was appalling, we weren’t greeted upon entrance for about 5 mins and had to approach a member of staff to be seated, the service from then on was pretty bad apart from a man named tahlah (I believe his name was) he was very good and provided a good service, can’t say the same for the other staff, overall decent place but staff let it down.

Food was pretty bland for an Indian/pakistani restaurant. Spice level was unexpectedly low. However if you don't mind that, then you will probably be fine.

Service was first class, food delicious and super atmosphere. Had a celebration with friends and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Talha made us all feel very special. Thank you.

Delicious ,but quite small portions

Mumtaz • Leeds (invite) From the impeccable food to the stunning waterfront views, a visit to Mumtaz is well worth it! The Thaal consists of comfort favourite foods: balochi saji (whole chicken), chappal kebab, pilau rice, balochi lamb karahi, chicken karahi, keema karahi, butter parathas, tandoor naans, vegetable pakoras and chips! Despite the generous portions, the quality of the food is not compromised - all of the foods deliver on taste and freshness 😮‍💨 The staff at the restaurant are so attentive and genuinely friendly! Our waiter had the biggest smile on his face and couldn’t do more for us!

I came as part of a large group for an engagement party. The staff were very nice and accommodating, and made us feel at home with such great service. With food spreads coming out efficiently we all got to eat our fair share of great food. I haven't had such great Indian food in leeds prior to this, so I'm happy to have visited. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for events or large groups, or even just for a nice meal with a friend. 10/10 ✌️
