The Cherry Tree in St Albans

I've not ordered from here before, so thought I'd give it a try. I was very impressed. The dishes we ordered were all all very tasty and well cooked and delivery was timely. Also, none of the food came with a layer or grease on top. Will be ordering from here again.

Takeaway of tandoori chicken as a starter ( not cooked meat was pink ) , karai gosht for main which had no flavour and too much onion. Overall disappointing but will maybe try a different dish next time.

We had a little meal ofTandoori mixed grill and lamb madras. Lamb was nice and tender and tandoori mixed grill was cooked to perfection.

We tried this place for a takeout. It was ok but I'm in no rush to try again. The rice was really dry, and I mean really dry. Onion bhaji was also dry and way to crunchy. We hadn't tried this place before but only did on a recommendation. Maybe it was a bad day, however it wasn't to our taste. Really nice staff though and delivery driver.

Nice service. Moderate prices. A good place for dinners. I honestly recommend this place.

It is typical English Indian restaurant, not authentic Indian food. Butter chicken was so sweet that rather than worrying about the chilli content while feeding it to kids, I was worried about sugar content instead. Kulfi was very grainy, not the usual texture, and overall it is rather expensive. Nice naan though.

What a place bin Using this place for the last 2 months and I can say is outstanding today I ordered A lamb chop dish there was a miss Communication I called back back had a new one out in 15/20mins with free rice and it was out standing you need to try this place you won't be disappointed:)

Such lovely food. I really enjoy Cherry tree. The restaurant is lovely with a good size car park. I also have had delivery several times and am always happy with their service and food.

I'm so disgusted with the customer service here, I ordered two meals and over an hour went by and when I called again I was told there was no order in the kitchen. When I told him I definately ordered from them (I used the same number) I was told there was no order and "to check where I ordered from" and then he hung up on me!! You would think they would WANT the business during this difficult time. Will not order from here again.

Very average food, took 1hr 30min to be delivered. Not a great experience and makes all the 5 star reviews hard to comprehend

What a surprise. The food was excellent as was the advice from staff and the service. We have avoided Indian restaurants in the past but not now. Definitely on the list

Such a shame that the food and service has dropped over the last year. I went there for my birthday lunch and a senior member of staff was rude and argumentative. I will send a letter of complaint. The dish I ordered was too hot and spicy not what I have been used to when I had dined in the restaurant on previous occasions. The member of staff made out it was my fault for ordering that particular dish and was wally defensive and aggressive in his tone of voice. I have never experienced such treatment before and I am not sure what was wrong with him. He eventually swapped the food for a milder curry but no apology for his behaviour. I will not go there again unless I get an apology and apiece offering

This is the most wonderful Indian restaurant for a sit down meal. They are really good at looking after you from start 2 finish. The food is delicious and has great flavour no matter your spice level. If your thinking of going here I would say do it you won't regret your decision..

We love the cherry trees we always get a takeaway from here, the food is lovely and very tasty, never been disappointed, highly recommend it. Food is always hot when it arrives and always prompt when we order. Staff are lovely.

We've lived in Harpenden for two years and have to move away soon, one of the main places I will miss is the Cherry Tree. It was such a welcome surprise to find such a good Indian restaurant in the area. We always get the delivery but the one time we visited the restaurant we found it to be pleasant and lively, with friendly staff. The food is delicious.

Formerly a pub called the Cherry Trees, this curry house is clean and spacious. The main eating area is a giant conservatory offering nice views of the countryside. A warm welcome and good food make dining enjoyable. Sunday buffets are excellent value.

Great food friendly staff. We usually go for the Sunday buffet. A good selection and very reasonable. I prefer to pace myself so I can go up a few times. I wear loose fitting clothes and a lie down afterwards is advantageous. Daughter has loved it since she was 7.

My preferred Indian restaurant. Best dishes around. Wonderfully tasty, good delivery service and range, and straightforward to arrange them. Good options for different styles of dishes as well.
