Churchdown Tandoori in Tewkesbury

I normally order my Indian food from the Calcutta but this has now closed so I thought I would give the churchdown tandoori a try…… well I was pleasantly surprised as the food from here tasted great, delivered on time and still hot, with reasonable prices for an Indian restaurant. This is now going to be my new choice for Indian food and I can recommend it for others to try !

The food is great, but takes far too long to arrive

We have had food from here a few times and each time the food has been delicious. We ordered online then picked up. If you fancy trying something different, I recommend the house special naan, which is folded over and filled with cheese and meat...a meal in itself! Generous portions, and good range of dishes, my favourite so far... Chicken Towa with Peshwari naan. This take away is in a residential area where there is on street parking.

The curry itself lacked flavour sadly, so felt like a waste of money. Everything else was good, I will try again in the future but I expected better

The meal was delivered late and the Begum Bahar was so spicy it was inedible (a dish I normally enjoy) The restaurant offered no replacement or refund. Never going to order from here again.

Been going here for years, Absolutely cracking curry house, food is wonderful, friendly staff, possibly the nicest naan on the planet, can't recommend more! The Pall will blow your sockets off!

Arrived late and then went to the wrong house, even with clear instructions and a phone call helping to direct the driver. Had me running out into the rain to get my soggy food and crushed poppadoms. So much for ordering in to avoid going out in the wet with a head-cold.

Ordered at 17:45..food arrived at 20:00!!! Food was quite good though only warm but the over two hour wait is unacceptable! Not sure if I will use again!

We, had a starter and main meal. Which was, in my opinion, fantastic, as it was very light food and not overly greasy. We have recently used this takeaway for meals, and are very impressed with their food and will be using them in future.

Food very late and cold when delivered

Spot on time for delivery, lovely hot food with plenty of chicken in the shatkora, very nice peshwari naan, what's not to like? Oh, and the delivery driver was very cheerful. Recommended.

Unfortunately food showed out for delivery and 30 mins had gone by no food - the restaurant is 10 mins from my house which means we weren’t the only delivery which meant all our food was cold. I can’t stand cold food. The lamb was unfortunately chewy and couldn’t eat it. Chips and Nan bread freezing The curries were lovely but weren’t great cold. I had heard great things and I’m really gutted about our experience to be honest.

Late again, for the second time in a row. And something incorrect was delivered so they had to come back.

Sadly the rice was mushy and overcooked. And the king prawns were rubbery. It was ok but not the usual 100%

Food would have been excellent, as it always is...... ***LET DOWN BY JUST EAT**** and it took me to threaten legal action to get my money back from just eat. **THIS DRIVER DID NOT DELIVER** Churchdown Tandoori has its own delivery service which I will use in future :)

Takeaway confirmed time as 8.15 as requested. However it came 30mins early, so was cold by the time we were able to eat. Bhajis were also very undercooked and stodgy. Will not be using this Indian again.

The restaurant sent me chicken tikka biryani instead of the vegetarian one. When I called, they admitted they messed up, then told me I would be refunded the next day when ‘the owner shows up’. I called again the next day, they said they’d send me the right item, ‘if there are any orders being delivered in my area’. I requested a refund, still waiting for that to happen. It’s been 3 days. Oh and they cook their vegetables with mustard oil, order if that’s what you prefer.

The food was bad, tastes awful,not cooked properly the tandoori chicken was not fresh it seemed. The nunn also tasted really bad.

Food was absolutely delicious as always, and was ready to be collected five minutes early. Thank you! Will definitely be ordering again.

Not been able to order for quite a while due to cost of living but really wanted to treat myself - well things have changed. Food okish but stone cold and not as tasty as used to be. Also arrived late - no up dates then driver failed to ring doorbell as requested !! Really disappointed and not cheap !!
