Best Indian for a long time. Great service & food..BYO so went next door to the one stop. Well worth a visit.

BEWARE HIDDEN 10% SERVICE CHARGE...Made a return visit Saturday 24th August. Dined in. The price of the Set Menu has increased. The Set menu as also changed. The menu now offers Poppadom And dips or charged at 1.25 each. An Appetiser an Main with Ice Cream Dessert. Chicken was tough and chewy! The Lamb was tender. The Rice was smaller in portion just about covering the small oval plate. After eating our main we were presented with a Dessert menu and having made our selection of 2 x Cheesecakes we were told that these were no longer included in the Set Menu although pictured. We were told that we could only have Kalfi Indian Ice Cream. Which turned out to be totally bland and we would not recommended. Yuk! One if our waiters clearly had a problem being the English Language and had to be supported by another staff member which seemed pointless. On being presented with the bill my wife observed a 10% Service Charge had been added. As she looked closer at the bill the head waiter came to the table and commented on it adding that he would remove it if required. I would have had it removed AS IT WAS NOT MENTIONED ANYWHERE BEFORE! My wife said she couldn't be bothered to wait nor get into a discussion about it. At over £44.00 for 2 without drinks it turned out to be an expensive experience. It was no better than WETHERSPOONS. We will NOT BE RETURNING! POOR VALUE AND SHARP PRACTICES...

HIDDEN SERVICE CHARGE ALERT Nowhere on the poster advertising the Banquet meal or on the menus does it say that there will be a service charge applied Last evening we witnessed a young couple with 2 children questioning the service charge I'm always a little cautious about restaurants who hide the charge until presented with the bill. When it came to our turn to pay I couldn't really be bothered to argue about it. I will excersise my right to dine elsewhere in the future But would like to alert the unsuspecting of a hidden service charge Foodwise nothing startling and I could pick faults in most of what we orderd. This place is not for the aficionados of Indian food. Should you choose to dine here you can make your own mind up. Staff are alert and attentive Toilets are immaculate Tables are spacious enough apart to avoid others conversation overspill.

My go to Indian in Tewkesbury. I usually get a takeaway. Very nice food and very friendly staff. Imo the best in the area.

Only spending one night in Tewkesbury as a stop off while travelling down south,found this lovely Indian restaurant on the high street.Very welcoming atmosphere, service and food very People very polite.

We've had many good Indian meals in the area over the years and after reading previous good reviews ordered a takeaway from here. We were very disappointed. The chicken in the tikka starter was tough and tasteless. The lamb in the tikka passanda main was also really chewy and the sauce was bland. If we had been eating in we would have sent the food back. Not recommended !

We ordered a takeaway after reading positive reviews on here but were very disappointed. My chicken tikka starter was tough and not at all spicy. My main lamb tikka passanda sauce was also very bland, and the meat very chewy and not spicy. My wife had prawn on puree starter which was ok but her main of chicken biryani could have been better. This was not an enjoyable meal and would have been sent back if we were eating in the restaurant. We would not recommend Dalchinis based on our experience.

This restaurant is a cut above any other Indian restaurant we have been to. The food is absolutely delicious and so nicely presented. The set meal was such good value for money that we went back on the second night of our stay! The waiting on staff were all pleasant and very efficient and the managers on each night were lovely.

Colleague and I called in and took advantage of the set meal deal which was great value for money. The kebab and tandoori paneer were both great, whilst we both enjoyed our curries, jslfrezi snd madras. Just pop into the shop next door for your booze.

Travelling from Redditch on our way my to Cheltenham decided to stop off and have something to eat in Tewkesbury! The Dalchini Restaurant served excellent food and superb service by a young waiter called Tarik! We ordered Lamb Rogon extra spicy and House Special Chicken Stir Fry with rice and Sag Aloo! No pics unfortunately as we were too hungry! lol Definitely recommend and will return!

We visited Dalchini for Christmas Dinner 2023 and again yesterday for a Golden Anniversary celebration. Both times service has been really good. The menu is a mixture of the regulars that you would see on any indian menu plus their house specials. I think the price is the average i would pay across any indian in town. Location is central to town with access to a town car park a short walk away (free after 1730). The restaurant is clean and bright with stylish furnishings. It is non licenced so you do need to bring your own alcohol but there is a shop next door.

Our town is blessed with many Indian restaurants and this was mu 1st time here with my wife and friends. The food was delicious fresh and reasonable prices. Great menu and service and bring your own booze! See you again soon. Cheers

Fantastic find in Tewkesbury. Staff were friendly and found us a nice table on request. Couldn't fault the service and the food was excellent. Could take in your own drinks and also a set menu was offered. Place was spotlessly clean. Would definitely recommend this place if you are visiting Tewkesbury. Top draw ..

Not bad, take your own drinks as unlicensed? Portions rather on the small side especially rice, we would normally share but not big enough here, tasty food but slightly overpriced for two main courses, probably need a starter or some side dish if you are hungry

Very nice food but extremely expensive, 1 adult,2 childeren bill came to £66, no drinks or starters, had popadoms,childeren had curry sauce i had a main,3 naan breads and 3 rices!!

We ate here last week, our first time in Tewkesbury. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was very good, especially the Garlic Chilli Chicken. Generous portions and their meal offer was good value. Just one thing to remember - it doesn't have a licence, so BYO!

This is an amazing find in the centre of Tewkesbury. I am quite fussy about my curries and hence try to review critically. The scotch (naga) chicken curry was just perfect without the excess oil and very flavoursome. The spice blend was absolutely right. The place was quite busy with a number of deliveries going through the door. The boss led by example: doing deliveries and serving customers. Good customer service and nothing that I can fault or complain about. I will be back and recommend without hesitation if you ever find yourself on this side.

First time in Tewkesbury, best Indian I have experienced, superb food, excellent service and very good value. Highly recommended.

Probably the finest Indian cuisine I have had in many a year. I had their banquet, every one of the 4 courses an absolute treat. Superb value too and all complimented by Tarik's wonderful service and manner. Highly recommended.

Visited here with a group of friends, all staff were friendly and helpful, you can BYO alcohol which makes your evening cheaper, food was very good all of us agreed, great value for money, will definitely return 👍

I popped in for a take away, the service was swift with my order taken quickly. I didn’t have to wait and I was on my way home! Unfortunately though I found the food quite bland, I have had better from M&S. Sorry, not for me.

My wife and I went on Thursday evening and from entering the restaurant to leaving everything was excellent. The food was superb and so very tasty.The staff were very friendly. Would certainly visit again and strongly recommend this venue.

Busy, but very good Indian. No alcohol sold but you can byo. Service friendly but a little slow. Very tasty and nicely presented food. Poppadoms, chicken pakora, chicken jalfrezi, rice and a keema naan for £30 is pretty good in my book. Also conveniently placed just off the M6. Parking nearby at the Abbey.

One of the best takeaways in a long time it was ready on time we had 5 meals and all was spot on we’ll recommend. Enjoy people 👍👍

The meat and rice was pretty good but the sauce was bland and under spiced. A common issue these days, garlic, chilli and spices are not being used to create interesting flavours

Food wad good, but since ordering by phone, I have started receiving sales texts, with no chance to reply. Apart from ringing you up, or calling in and asking to be removed, there is no way to stop them. IfI receive any more, I certainly won't be using you again. I'm sure anyone that has bought from you is on that mailing list.

This is an excellent restaurant. The staff are very accommodating and helpful. The food was excellent. We had the banquet style meal, 1 starter each, 1 main each and either a rice or naan. All for £15 per head. They don't have a licence so you take your own drinks. Great idea I would highly recommend it for a night out. One year later and we have been back. It's still an excellent place to eat. The banquet has gone up a couple of pounds but still very good value. I still recommend it for a lovely evening out with friends.

I went with my wife for a birthday evening out and the decision to eat at Dalchini was spot on. All the usual dishes are available with a refreshing amount of things we hadn't had before. We both ate fish dishes for starters and mains: fish Puri, tandoori fish followed by cod volcano and salmon baza bhuna. All were good but the salmon dish came on a sizzler plate and was a bit overdone. The standout dishes were the fish Puri and tandoori fish starters, we went back the following week and ordered them as mains. They were exceptional. The staff are attentive and polite without being bothersome. I thoroughly recommend Dalchini. We are local and walked there but there's plenty of cheap or free parking nearby.

Just had the most amazing meal here. Took advantage of the special deal at £15 per person...absolutely great !! Staff were courteous and attentive and lovely surroundings.

Indian cuisine is my favourite. Fairly new to the area so was delighted to find the delivery option. The food was excellent and delivered on time by a lovely young lady. I will be reordering again soon.

Very nice little Indian, quality food but no on licence so had to go to the shop next door to buy beer and wine but that didn't spoil the evening. We struggled to get a taxi from our hotel on as it was a monday night so I called to cancel our booking. To my surprise, they offered to come and pick us up and drop us off afterwards. Food was good. Didn't sell alcohol and that was made clear until you were at you seat. Far too loud inside, sadly made it like a cafe, not a restaurant.

Tasteless & Expensive. Booked a table on a hot day as air conditioned. Both main dishes were plentiful but completely lacking any flavour or heat. We were puzzled how this could be achieved although they may well have been the same base sauce. Both were on the specials list and one contained a few prawns apparently, although only the texture suggested this. Also £6.95 for 4 poppadums which is extortionate, even if enough pickles for 6 people rather than 2 of us. I kept the raita in case the curry needed some- the most flavour on the main plate. Bill was more than in a licenced restaurant, although hiding the service charge as the 3rd item on the bill was a novel twist. Won't be returning.

The food was full of flavour,. From starters to main. Staff are so friendly and we had a lovely chat. Decor is lovely. Great atmosphere and would recommend going here. We will go again next time we are in Tewkesbury xx

Portions could be a bit more generous. Tandoori garlic king prawns, £12 for 6 prawns and a few shards of onion. Friend had the banquet deal which looked better in terms of value.

Decidedly low end of average. Not used to paying £1 per poppadom. Dishes hit & miss with the saag paneer being a massive miss (a gloopy mess) - to be fair they did not charge us for it. Strange pricing with a bottle of water more expensive than my beer!

Great food, great value and warm, friendly service. No licence but there's a One-Stop next door for booze which makes it a relatively cheap night out. Tewkesbury is blessed with a number of really good curry houses and Dalchini is right up there!

Very disappointed used to be the best indian restaurant in the area , not sure if their chef has changed but the food is very poor at the moment and all the dishes taste the same lacking any depth or balance of flavours the meat used to be really tender but is now very tough not sure what's gone wrong

Amazing restaurant for authentic Indian food: I’ve been here once dining in and the service was super friendly, nice and helpful. Big plus: you can bring your own bottles of alcohol to pair with the food. Also, having food delivered from Dalchini is a treat to enjoy at home. The website works perfectly well and has a pretty cool design to order and select the dishes. I strongly recommend you come here if you’d want Indian food. 5/5 stars ⭐️

Very nice and friendly place with great food

I'm sorry to say that my wife and I found the curries to be bland. The bhuna was supposed to be a medium sauce, I would describe it as not even look warm. The food looked great, it just lacked any 'heat' that you would expect from any curry. Having read the reviews on here we'd been looking forward to it for weeks and couldn't wait to get the food back to the campsite. Just disappointing, maybe we were simply unlucky. I hope that is the case. Maybe I've been spoilt for years having had literally hundreds of quality Indian restaurants in and around Glasgow, maybe the bar in these part ain't set so high.

Same sauce regardless of dish. OK I suppose if not too fussy. Take your own booze.

Walked in from the caravan site in Tewkesbury. I have to say the food and staff were excellent. We are used to nice Indian food but Ihis was exceptional. Starters and main were delicious. Nice touch being byob and staff very willing to supply glasses and top up your drinks when required. Definitely woukd recommend 👌
