The best restaurants serving Indian food in York Yorkshire and The Humber

Como vengo de Londres y hay un montón de muy buenos restaurantes indios y comida para llevar, y algunos no tan buenos, estaba muy interesado en ver cómo eran en York. Debo decir que me impresionó mucho. El servicio era amable y atento, pero no había nada que rondar sobre la mesa. La comida era excelente. Traeré a mis colegas del trabajo aquí cada vez que quieran un curry. Como digo, muy impresionado.

La comida estaba bien, sin embargo tuvimos un problema con el pago con tarjeta, pagamos con tarjeta solo para recibir una llamada telefónica diciendo que no había pasado, revisamos el banco y en ese momento estaba mostrando que había pasado. Al día siguiente de que llamaran muy fuerte a la puerta fue un tipo del restaurante, que dijo de una manera muy agresiva hasta el punto de gritar exigiendo el pago de la comida que teníamos la noche anterior, y concedió que cuando comprobamos que tenía razón no había pasado, así que pagamos en efectivo, sin embargo no había necesidad de que fuera tan agresivo hasta el punto de que nosotros después de año de usarlos no volveremos.

Beautiful food here and reasonable prices too. Highly recommend the fish curry, also the house red wine was excellent. Unobtrusive but attentive service.

Después de haber utilizado el Parvin durante años, lamentablemente no ha estado cumpliendo con las expectativas recientemente. Hay que reconocer que soy un cobarde y mi comida favorita es una korma, pero ahora hace demasiado calor que no puedo disfrutarla. Es una lástima que solía ser muy sabroso. Ahora es simplemente dominado por la especia. Tristemente no puedo verme ordenando desde aquí de nuevo.

Went over the weekend. I've been 3 times in the last 6 months.cant fault the food.very tasty .I just got the impression they wanted us out the restaurant as quickly as possible.my mate was swearing alot maybe it was that but have a word with us .clearing food away that wasn't finished and never got chance to have the chocolate at the end as they took them away.the restaurant wasn't overly busy so I didn't understand the rush .put me off abit now wanting to return

After a day of trudging around York and sampling some excellent real ales,the obligatory evening curry was called for.The lady at our B&B said The Raj was very good.So we took her advice.Having eaten lunch earlier and quite full on real ales ,we chose to share a meal.Poppadoms and relish tray with mango chutney lime pickle and onion and tomato& mint sauce.Then shared onion bhajis And had Chicken byriani which came with a vegetable sauce mild to medium.Ordered an additional Vindaloo sauce and a garlic nann.A pint of bombay bicycle,a pint of Cobra and a glass of coke total £46.10.It might seem alot however poppadoms and relish tray was £8 and drinks likely£12. Anyway the service was excellent, as were all the food components.All freshly cooked and presented.I really rate an indian /Bangladeshi restaurant on their vindaloo.And on this they delivered.Really Really good.As was the whole meal.No problems recommending this establishment.

Amazing service from start to finish. We’ve come here a number of times and will keep on coming back as the food is great and the service is always friendly and fast. Best Indian in York.

Fantástico curry. Los sabores eran increíbles. Tamaños de porción excelentes. Teníamos un plato vegetariano y un plato de carne y ambos estábamos extremadamente contentos con lo que obtuvimos. El mejor curry que he probado en mucho tiempo. Ciertamente volverá.

Very rude. The outside of the place always looks grubby. Staff in cars 'delivering' stock often block the drop curb.

Glad we chose to believe most of the reviews as we were not disappointed.Staying on Nunnery Lane we phoned order and collected ourselves. The owner was so helpful and the food was delicious and plentiful. Salad,fresh and one portion of rice did two of us. Excellent value for money. Locals are fortunate to have this place.

This is possibly the worse indian food I have eaten or experienced. I don't think I could even call it that. Just horrid. Not parts but all.
