The best restaurants in York Yorkshire and The Humber

This cafe is so much better than anywhere in the walls and is only a few mins away from the minster! I live round the corner and feel lucky to have such an amazing place to pop into. I’ve sampled brunch, lunch, coffee, cake and the hot chocs which are incredible! More than anything though I love this place for being welcoming without judgement, whether I’m passing for take away after a walk/run, popping in with friends or hiding in the corner solo. The team are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The prices are low for the quality and they have a great pay it forward scheme. Thank you for brightening up the Groves x

Fabuloso bar de cócteles escondido con excelentes vibraciones y cócteles y excelente servicio. Si desea garantizar una mesa después de las 9 le recomendamos reservar. Encuentra la puerta y sube las escaleras - no te decepcionará!

We came across this lovely cafe. We were greeted with a warm welcome and a great mug of tea, much to my husband’s delight. You can not beat a mug. Teapots are available. Drinks and snacks were delicious and service friendly. We will be back when we are next visiting York x

Mi amigo y yo lo probamos al azar el otro día y fue una de las mejores hamburguesas que he probado. Mi amiga también tomó el desayuno y dijo que era la mejor que había probado. Muy buena calidad de carne. La hamburguesa me llenó durante todo el día también. Propietarios muy amables también

Had arancini which were tepid so took them back to be reheated, one was still lukewarm, would have been better freshly made -

Tuvimos dos horas donde a mi hija se le permitió salir del hospital entre el tratamiento y el Comerciante de Queso era el único lugar al que quería ir. We went to collect our order from Roccos the place is very clean and tidy the food is cooked fresh I had Quattro Stagioni pizza which is very tasty my husband enjoyed his Pollo Al Peppe will definitely recommend and we will order again.

I had the pleasure of eating Meg’s food at a catered event and fell beyond in love with the amazing dishes she makes! Although Akl is slightly out of the way for me, I will walk there if I need to to have her amazing Hummus again (best I’ve ever had), or any of the other delicious salads and sweets. Thank you so much for an amazing culinary experience!

¡Pequeña joya de un establecimiento! Desayuno increíble y café encantador! Estaba muy ocupado, y un menú muy variado. El personal era amable! Muy recomendable.

Nos topamos con este pequeño restaurante fabuloso en el camino a la estación de tren. Hay una escotilla abierta si tienes prisa por un café. Entramos como tuvimos tiempo. El propietario era amable y acogedor. El desayuno de los rancheros de huevos era súper sabroso y el café era genial también.

Absolutely spot on, £5.50 for a breakfast with a mug of tea or coffee and you can double up for £1... Best value breakfast around and all quality ingredients.

Wow! Sunnys proporcionó platos para mi desayuno de boda y fueron fantásticos! Se veía increíble y la calidad de todos los artículos eran realmente excelente! Todos mis invitados disfrutaron y estaban muy llenos después de que incluso los mayores comedores tenían mucho para comer. John fue tan servicial en responder a cualquiera de mis implacables preguntas que fue puntual y creó exactamente lo que pedí! Realmente estábamos muy agradecidos!

I can't compliment this place enough, it's SO damn good every time we go and always very accommodating. We visited with family this time (including young children), Kawa made a lovely, fresh and healthy lunch for my 5 year which wasn't on the menu. I really value this kind of service, I like my kids to eat fresh, quality food and that's exactly what she got. I had the asparagus and eggs on toast with a walnut crumb...WOW, just wow, everything was just perfect from how it was cooked, the flavours and the presentation. My husband had the shakshuka which was so flavourful and delicious. There's a handful of exceptional cafes in York that served up outstanding food...this is certainly one of them.
