We've been ordering here for 3 years, never disappoints us. Best takeaway and authentic food in Ivybridge and further! We always recommend to everyone who asks us about food/takeaways in Ivybridge. Lovely people, amazing food, decent price - what more could you ask for? Thank you Taste of Bengal for being our go-to takeaway when we want to treat ourselves

Everything arrived hot, neatly packed, and exactly as ordered. The portions were generous, and you can tell the ingredients were high-quality. Even the small details—like the garnish and the careful packaging—showed how much pride they take in their food.

Very disappointing experience. Ordered a takeaway for three people on a Sunday evening — told 25–45 mins, but it took 1 hour 29 minutes to arrive. No updates, no apology, and when it finally arrived, only the naan was hot — mains were lukewarm and had to be reheated. One dish was swimming in oil. Food was OK, but clearly the kitchen was overstretched. Sadly, this was the second time this has happened (also in Feb 2025). We won’t be ordering again.

Worst curry I've ever had, had the tandori mixed grill, it was dry and bland, had a bhuna sauce which was bland. My partner had the masssla cocktail, no spice and bland! Waiter was rude, just slammed down cutlery! when clearing plates from a table next to us, put the plate trolly right in front of us, we were blocked in and he just kept slamming plates, cutlery, dishes, it was noisy and we had to ask him to please stop ! Awful 😖

The restaurant is in a side road and entry is down some steep steps and your first impression is as you go past the old and small toilets which, despite their appearance, are relatively clean. We were met with a functional, if not overly friendly greeting, and shown to our table. The menu is clear and descriptive with pictures of some of the dishes. We ordered drinks, a Cobra and a Sauvignon Blanc, and two poppadoms and pickles. No lime pickle was included unfortunately. The poppadoms were fresh and crisp, always a good sign, and we ordered our meals, Chicken Khatmandu and Nepali Butter Chicken with Pulao Rice and Garlic Naan. The restaurant wasn’t busy but the food arrived in a reasonable time, too quickly and we would have been concerned. Both meals were great. The chicken tikka was tender and the sauces were aromatic and spicy as they should be. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and, as it is so handily placed near to the Plymouth Pavilions, will definitely visit again if we are going to a show there.
