Good food but forgot out bhajis

Said delivered, but left me calling the takeaway and panicking. Food would’ve been great if it was warm.

Most of it was cold, onion Bhajis were over cooked, garlic naan bread was delicious though!

Food was decent but saw staff being treated horribly, heard shouting from the kitchen. Wouldn’t recommend supporting a business that treats underage staff poorly.

It’s about finesse, not just fire, and that’s what makes it stand out. For me, Sundorban is a true gem—a place that raises the bar for Indian dining in Bridport. Definitely worth a visit if you’re after something special.

Ordered are takeaway for delivery - arrived on time with a friendly driver. Food is excellent and still hot - highly recommend

We visited tonight with a little trepidation as we’ve seen some strange reviews, but we were delighted with both the food and the service. We had a prawn Puri starter and vegetable samosas, followed by lamb Rogan and one of the specials which was recommended by one of the girls, I think it was a chicken makhani. Both were absolutely delicious. We will definitely visit again next time we’re in Bridport and highly recommend.

Absolutely fabulous restaurant!! Took friends who’ve eaten all over the world, and they were in awe of how delicious the dishes were. Amazing food, amazing service, special mention goes out to Tina and her team who looked after us so much. Very highly recommended for all, no question 👍

What can I say. One of the best Madras's I've ever had! Fantastic depth of flavour, and not swimming in ghee. Tarka Dhal and Pilau rice was bang on too and all dishes were generous and well presented. Service was friendly, attentive and extremely helpful too. Highly recommend!

After reading great trip advisor reviews we thought we would give it a try. Booked table for 8:30 as this was one of only options available- great we thought it’s always good when somewhere is busy. Arrived about 8:25 and they said it would be a 10 minute delay on the table. Again no problem. After about 15 mins we were offered to sit down at the bar and given a drink which they put on the house which was a nice gesture. We did overhear someone say they were a chef short- which explains the delay but then why accept so many bookings and takeaways? It wasn’t until gone 9pm when we sat down. Our poppadoms and starter came out fast. The issue came with the mains, they did not arrive for another hour so it was 10 past 10 when they finally came. By this point myself and my husband were both really tired and not quite in the mood for eating. The food was okay but by no means the best curry we’ve ever eaten. I ended up taking mine to eat tomorrow. It seemed there were several tables who had been waiting an awfully long time, the table next to us said they had booked for 8:45 but by the time we left at 10:35 they still had not received their starters. I get it’s a Saturday night and I get that it’s busy, the waitresses were friendly enough and apologised several times, although we could tell they were all really stressed and did hear a few comments like ‘I hate this’ and ‘I’m so stressed’ and ‘I just need them to leave now’. Having both worked in hospitality we totally get it but these customers are paying your wages and it’s important to maintain professionalism. Overall it was such a shame as we really had high hopes for this place. Yes being in a restaurant two hours isn’t abnormal, but it was the wait for the food, and the average meal we ended up receiving which let it down.

Probably THE BEST curry house in the west. Wonderful happy attentive staff, great atmosphere…. Incredible cocktails with a cardamom twist. Every dish tastes as it says on the menu. Book well in advance and then book again. SUPERB 10/10 5⭐️

I got a delivery, I didn't eat at the restaurant. Unfortunately my Madras was swimming in water and clearly has been frozen from the previous day. (See photo) Shame, but I won't be ordering from them again.

The whole experience was amazing, from the ultra crispy popadums and pickles, to the Lamb Hatkora, (which I would have milder next time, as I found it was a little too hot). The onion bhajis and aloo gobis are the best I have ever had in any Indian or Bangladesh restaurant in the UK. The staff are very attentive and the whole meal was very good value. I would highly recommend a visit, you should book. The restaurant has won awards which are well deserved. I can't wait for my next visit, hopefully very soon.

Such a lovely atmosphere. Haven't been here in a couple months and soke of that staff have changed nut everyone is as friendly and welcoming as ever which is one of the things I truly love about this place!! Samantha the manageress was welcoming and very accommodating, fitting ne in at short notice despite how full the restaurant was with a large booking enjoying a peaceful meal to celebrate a birthday! I was served promptly and starter's were the usual high standard, (highly recommend the Tandoori Mixed Starter). I followed this with a Chicken Tikka Sizzler, (which lived up to its name)!. For dessert I tried Gulab Jamin which was definitely unusual, nice though. Service was, as usua in my experience, well above par. I'll be back in a couple months I'm sure!

We had a wonderful time we went for mothers day the food as always was exelent we started with cocktails these were exetent we started with prawns absoutlaly exelent after that a wonderful hot sizeler and cheesy garlick narn unfortunatly this time we were so full we could not manage a sweet but next time we highley recomend this ressaraunt thanks to all the staff for awonderful eavening

From start to finish it was a great experience. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was amazing. As a vegetarian I’m used to little choice but the variety of both vegetable and paneer dishes are numerous. My family are meat eaters and tried the chef’s specials along with the standard butter dishes, all were loved and enjoyed.

When placing the order (18:57), was told delivery would be approx 30 mins. Time suddenly jumped up to 20:25-20:45, 90 mins since ordering, and far more than the originally advertised wait time. Rang restaurant at 20:00 to get an estimate time of delivery to be told we’d receive it in approx 20 mins (20:20ish). The food then didn’t arrive until 21:00, a full 2 hours after ordering. I appreciate that it may have been busy however feel like this should have been advertised in the original estimate

We visited for the second time last night after eating there last month. The food and service is outstanding despite being extremely busy both times. We live in Dorchester and sadly don’t have a decent Indian restaurant (we’ve tried the only Indian restaurant many times in the hope it would improve but if anything it’s got worse). Anyway, we heard about this one and it’s the best Indian food I’ve had down South! Being from Stoke originally I’m used to decent Indian food and this place is even better than up North! First visit I had chicken tikka jalfrezi and my husband had railway lamb. Both dishes superb although my husband didn’t like the potato in his lamb. Second visit I had a chicken tikka dish off the specials with chilli, garlic and ginger and it was delicious - you could really taste the flavours. My husband had a lamb Balti and loved it. Both times we had the poppadoms which were fresh and crunchy with the dips. I asked for tamarind and was given it no charge. We also enjoyed the delicious onion bhajee both times, mushroom rice and garlic naan. All delicious. Last night we had a side dish of brinjal bhajee which I loved. It’s a very busy restaurant so make sure you book, it’s obvious why they win awards. Food portions are pretty generous too. We’ve been going to a nice Indian in Weymouth but this is worth the extra drive. I can see we will be regular visitors.

Food was ok, although cold. Took 1h50 mins to arrive which is excessive in my opinion, the time just kept going up and up.

Lovely food, but received plain rice not pilau rice as ordered.

16 ladies gathered for a relaxed evening together and a very good meal. That is exactly what we got. With so many different meal choices the well organised staff delivered great food efficiently and accurately and were attentive to our drinks needs along the way. Really excellent food. I would highly recommend the Sundorbon restaurant.

This is a lovely restaurant, I couldn't recommend this place enough, me and partner enjoyed a spectacular meal on new year's eve, the service by the staff was outstanding to our needs, much compliments to the lady in the sparkly dress and the lady with the short hair, their service was amazing, they checked back on our table at the correct and efficient times, and the food was extremely tasteful, the quantity was fillful, big compliments to the chefs, we will definitely be visiting again soon.

My family and I have eaten at the Sundorbin Indian restaurant (and had take-aways) on many occasions. The food is always exceptional, and quite frankly the best I have ever had. They cook many original and unusual curries, such as Railway lamb, King prawn boona and sizzling chicken / mixed meat tandoori. Cannot recommend this place enough, although it would be essential to book in advance. The restaurant has also recently won a national award which is well deserved. I believe it is worthy of a Michelin star, which I believe it could soon achieve.

Absolutely amazing establishment. Our favourite place to go when we eat out. They're very accommodating to allergies and also find us a brilliant spot to sit everytime we go that fit in my mobility equipment. The food is beyond delicious and completely indescribable how amazing it is. I don't think we have ever had a dish that we didn't enjoy and they will always be so well informed on the dishes I.e. what they contain and their spice level. I adore the staff and they have always be so kind and patient even when the restaurant is at capacity or very busy. I genuinely don't think there is words to describe the sundorbon, their restaurant is stunning aswell and it's definitely one to try if you're ever local.

Went here the other day was delicious when eating inside. Tonight I decided to try the takeaway with the 10% collection discount and was really disappointed, waited 15 mins later than collection time as they were running behind, the curry was watery and not as much chicken as in person eating. I will definitely be coming to eat in the sundorbon (hence 3 stars) BUT NEVER doing takeaway unfortunately.

We have visited this place now twice in the last month and on both occasions the food has been terrific the dishes are delicious and well presented with polite staff who want you to enjoy your visit there,nothing is too much trouble for the helpful staff who will gladly explain what the dishes are like and also arrange containers for you to take the food away that you cant finish as the amount of food dished up is ample , will be visiting again to experience this top curry house o Bridport

We ordered from here and the whole process from downloading the app to receiving the food was easy. Menu is clear. Prices reasonable and app simple to use. We went to the Sundorbon last night (23rd September ). Our waitress is the newest member of their staff and may i say she was very polite and very confident in her new role. I started with Tiger Prawns they were delicious. My main was Railway Chicken,coconut rice and garlic and cheese nann it was very mouth watering.
