Good service and a really tasty curry. I visited whilst on a short stay in Paignton and will definitely visit again when in the area. Great value for money too.

Went for a take away last night here, I was greeted by a man with a baseball cap and in normal clothes? Considering this is a restaurant he didn't look very professional and neither was his attitude!! I found him extremely rude and not welcoming what so ever. The main reason why I visited here was I fancied something a little different only to find the curry I had was extremely bland with taste very little flavour I was bitterly disappointed. So not only was the welcome poor so was the food safe to say I won't be returning here. This is my opinion it maybe for some but definitely not for me.

I recently ordered from Nepealese Gurkha for the second time, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed yet again. Not only was the delivery incredibly fast, but the food was absolutely delicious. From the savory spices to the tender meats, each dish was a culinary delight. Nepealese Gurkha continues to exceed my expectations, and I look forward to ordering from them again in the future.

Quite pricey, no rice or bread with mains, two curry's both very sweet. It arrived to us on delivery and order complete.

Had a wonderful curry here last night 🌟 It was a Tuesday night and sadly was otherwise empty (hence the atmosphere score), but don't let that put you off! It's winter after all! The food was really tasty and came out lovely and hot. I had the Naga chicken dish (which they toned down the heat slightly for me), saag aloo, and garlic naan. It was all really well cooked and they have loads on the menu I'd like to go back and try. They even have a light, crisp Nepalese lager on the drinks menu. A very extensive menu with lots of authentic Nepalese dishes. Well worth the visit, I'd definitely go back ✨

Arrived early in Saturday evening with friends ,we were warmly welcomed and that's our first time in Nepalese Gurkha,we really like it. we had pappadums with some Nepalese style chutney to start and those were great,we love those chutney specially (mango chutney). On to starters, we choose lamb momo(steamed dumpling)were really tasty and juicy,as was the spicy sauce that accompanied them and the king prawn puri was really nice too.For mains we choose to select Nepalese curry called Gurkha special Balti and Nepalese Gurkha Special curry with side of Nepalese mixed dal and Nepali Aloo and one portion of pilau and nan bread . All the dishes were really good,with nice portion. I had choose Gurkha Special Balti which is actually medium curry in menu but I want my curry as like Madras hot and I requested to the lady waitress who take our order to make Madras level hot and the chef dutifully did the exactly test what i want and it was very delicious too.we had a Nepalese larga(Gurkha Beer) 660ml bottles is particularly good with curries. Especially the service was friendly and very helpful we really appreciate the hospitality of Nepalese Gurkha.The atmosphere was good too and the menu was wide ranging,with Nepalese and Indian dishes all represented, so if you like Asian /or spicy foods we will highly recommend Nepalese Gurkha.we love Nepalese Gurkha and will definitely be back!..☺️😍

Yet another local business who did-prioritises pre-paid orders. Ordered for 7pm Delivery (2 hours in advance) get an update after 7 to say now due 7.35 then same again at 7.30 moving it to 8. Rang restaurant to be told sorry we are busy tonight - well this would be the reason I ordered so early. How is is fair to prioritise people who haven’t pre-paid. Awful awful awful treatment of local regulars

What a joke ordered our food at 18:10 on Saturday 20 th January 2024 after working 12 hours. Was told would be an hour, that’s fine with us as we can shower and get comfortable ready for our tea. This is normal as we order all the time from here (3 to 4 times a month). At 20:30 we are still waiting for our order, so we ring up for an update, we are told that our order left and should be with use very soon.( we only live 2 minutes away). 50 minutes yes 50 minutes later still no food!!!!!! So my wife went down to the restaurant for our order, even though we paid for delivery, so not only do you lie about when an order goes out, you rob the delivery money too. That’s why I say WHAT A JOKE !!!!!!! If that’s what you do to you best customers then I’m afraid you have just lost them. I do hope you lean your mistakes in the future and not to be to greedy, we did enjoy our food but service in my eyes is far more important, sorry but it’s the truth. Darren

Went in for the first time today and I’m telling you this is the best restaurant I have ever been to. The flavours literally burst in your mouth and the lovely ladies working there are incredible at doing their job very attentive.

Best Currys in Paignton portions are huge, very tasty

My Wife and I had a evening delivery and enjoyed a fantastic meal at home, nice and hot and on time.

Friendly staff, tasty food served without any long delay, basic décor. Awkward access if wheelchair dependent.

Average at best. Poppadom and pashweri naan were fine, Nepalese rice was OK but main and side were lacking g in flavour and a bit salty with the "tender chicken" not tender at all. I've had worse but not a patch on my local Indian. Prices on website are 20% less than at the restaurant which is a bit misleading.

Well what can I say...this small restaurant is a hidden gem !!! We had the lamb momo and chicken chatpot for starters...which were absolutely fantastic. And not forgetting the poppadoms with the best sides chutney and mint sauce. Then we come to our main dishes.. oh my days...number 33 the Nepalese goat curry was something I have never tried before...it just melted. We have never had a curry that tasted this good!! The nepalese chicken was amazing. Mushroom bhaji was off the chart..the flavour was exceptional Potato and spinach bhaji was just lovely. Family run business...mum and daughter front of house and so lovely and polite. Their husband/dad cooks the currys and he is an absolute magician of nepalese cooking. It's just a shame that we are only visiting the area for the week. But are re booking before we go home. Thank you for a lovely evening.

We have visited the restaurant a few times previously but decided to order for collection this evening via just eat. Food was absolutely perfect, as always. Highly recommend the lamb pahadi. We ordered a side that didn't make our order, unfortunately, but a phone call to the restaurant and my issue was sorted immediately. Could not recommend this place enough. Staff are very friendly and helpful 10/10 🙂

First visit with a friend who is a real foodie. We loved making selections from the menu and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The serving staff were excellent and attentive without being intrusive. I'm sure we will visit again.

Great disappointment tonight, my husband had booked a table so we could celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived there was no table available due to the amount of walk-ins. The waitress look horrified when we waited by the door. Obviously we didn't stay, it was very embarrassing in front of the other customers. It was as if we were in the wrong Thank you for ruining our evening.

One of the nicest tastiest curries I have had , quiet Friday evening was nice as my personal preference is just that will be visiting again.

Lovely staff, very quiet on the Thursday evening but it is very small only had seating for about a dozen diners. Clean enough with very nice meals to be had form ma quite comprehensive menu of Nepalese/northern Indian dishes. We enjoyed the experience of hot & plentiful food overall, downside were the chips which looked very dark & not the best tasting sadly. For 3 of us with a drink, starter & main courses with sides around £65. Worth the visit to experience the tastes.

Fancied some Nepalese food and so looked on TA for the best. We were early arrivals but were welcomed with smiles and menus. Lovely Nepalese beer arrived quickly while we perused the menu. Difficult choices were made and we were rewarded with exquisite food just the right quantity. A reasonable bill at the end. A splendid find and if we are this way again we will definitely return.

The place and the decor is like going back in time when mum and dad paid. You walk through the door to a lovely greeting from 3 welcoming ladies. The decor is not to my taste but it is clean but to make up for the decor is the food and price which is fantastic,with good portions you will not go home hungry.so when down that neck of the woods will visit again

The food was excellent. You'll find the usual curry items on the menu - korma, masala, madras etc. but it's much better to try some of the Nepalese alternatives. Excellent service. Bottled beers are available - nothing on tap. The only thing that let it down was the lack of atmosphere - I was the only person there on a Wednesday evening, which was a shame because it's a great little restaurant.

This little family owned gem is a must visit! They serve the most hearty and soul cleansing Nepalese food in the area. Although the food might take a little longer when it’s busier, it’s worth the wait! I would definitely come back here next time when i visit. First time in Nepalese Gurkha and you have to go! It’s a cute little spot with amazing food. The Base camp curry is to die for. The chicken just melts in your mouth like butter making you want to have it non-stop. The service is incredible. We will definitely be back again next year.

Ordered a large takeaway and was told hour and half delivery, it turned up bang on one hour! Great food and speedy delivery. Both traditional curry house dishes and their own speciality dishes were delicious and reasonably priced

My favourite place to get some heartwarming food in Paignton

Just had a fantastic meal in this restaurant. From the minute we entered the restaurant, the service was exceptional. I love my Indian food and can’t fault this place. Feels very homely and the staff made you feel part of the whole ambience. Great food, service above and beyond with great value for money. To top it off, we were given a few shots of Bailey ‘s as complimentary from the house. Awesome and thank you for this experience, and the amazing food.

We holiday in Paignton. This restaurant is a must now, each time we return to Paignton. It is so fun, the owners daughter is fantastic, and so is the food. It makes our holiday! First time in Paignton and after searching online for somewhere to eat came across the Nepalese Gurkha and what a find it was. The owner greeted us with such a warm welcome before she was joined shortly afterwards by her daughter. They work great together...
