Best Indian in the Bay. Have used these guys for years and won't go anywhere else. Always hot when delivered, huge bits of chicken in the curries, lovely taste and good price 👌🏼

We were a family group of 13. We mostly had different dishes, verdict from all was "best Indian they have had for a long time" Excellent !!!!

I don’t like leaving negative reviews but both my husband I agreed that this was the worst Indian takeaway we had ever had. Completely bland and tasteless. Even the pilau rice had no flavour, tasted just like boiled rice!

Best Indian takeaway in Torquay, garlic chilli chicken is amazing

Ordered chicken chilli Balti but recieved chicken Balti, very bland without the chilli’s. Hoped they might have either sent a replacement via delivery or some discount off the next one, got neither☹️ Not to self: repeat what you order when you pick it up.

I used this because I could not park at my usual takeaway in Plainmoor (which is excellent). It had good service, fantastic onion bajees, disappointing chicken madras as the sauce lacked flavour and was watery, rice was fine. The starter of sheek kabab was really poor, poor quality meat, just dreadful. So, if I use it again I will be careful with my choice.

We had chicken korma and chicken madras. They were both very flavoursome,fresh and tasty. Excellent

After looking at reviews I was looking forward to flavour, my god, I was so disappointed! If you like tomato sauce with a hint of spice then happy days. What I received had no flavour whatsoever. Chicken tikka starter had no sign of ever being near a tandoor, chicken Bhoona was tomato ketchup almost with a bit of coriander thrown in. If you appreciate food, dont even give it the time of looking, disgusting representation of good Indian cuisine

Awful takeaway service!! Steer clear from this place. We ordered an Indian this week and ordered 10 chapatis for my family. Picked up the order and found that we were given WRAPS not chapatti. Complete false advertising ! When I called the spoke to them, they said this is how we make chapatti in Devon which is a complete joke! I could have picked up wraps from the local for a pound and was charged 16.00 for chapattis which was a complete rip off. Steer clear from this restuarant!!!

This was the best Indian takeaway I have had in a long time. It was delivered within 45 minutes on a Saturday and arrived hot with no items missing!! The price was very good too compared to other places. Will definitely order again.

Excellent service and great food

The Food is very good and my husband and I used it almost fortnightly for over 2 years. We had started to notice that less and less was being put in tubs. I had even asked over the phone a few times to make sure they filled the tubs up. The Last time we ordered both of our orders only half filled the tubs and my Dhansak only had three pieces of chicken and was bulked out with pineapple. Was extremely disappointed as the food was always good. Not paying for stinging portions though.

We found this takeaway by chance. I ordered Bengal Delight, and can honestly say it's the best curry I've had for about twenty years (not for want of trying). The food we ordered was all good, but the creamy chicken and mango dish was so good it would tempt this cookery-phobe into the kitchen. Thankfully Belgrave Tandoori don't supply their recipes, so I'll have to go back for more. A fantastic Indian takeaway a short walk from the centre of Torquay. Delivery also available.

Not happy, as the upgrade to a garlic nan is a lot more than the actual difference. Also sag chicken is £9. Chilli chicken is £9, but ask for sag chilli and its £9.50? The owner got very angry when I questioned these hidden price increases on my bill!

A family-run restaurant in Torquay for over 15 years, quality food at a quality price. Would definitely recommend it. I order from it most weekends.

Sooo disappointed. Have used the Belgrave Tandoori before and thought it was quite good. Tonight however, what a disappointment. Ordered prawn puri. Flavour was quite good but it was swimming in oil. Ordered the massala and instead of the nice velvety mild sauce, it was a mouth full of sugar... that's all it tasted of. So sweet it overpowered any other flavour the food might have had. We're all entitled to a bad day. I'll definitely give them another chance but l hope they improve.

Fair play too them ...food has always been good ...I have used them over a few years now and been great ...love the chicken dansak dish ...loads of garlic yum ...we tend to go for the set meal for 1 ...1 each for 12 pound ish and has more than everything you want!! pleasant lady serving and always friendly ...think she is the owner ..5 stars from me ....

Collected their set meal for two and cannot complain too much. Had to pay an extra quid to upgrade to garlic naan (only 30p extra on menu) but considering the overall price, all is forgiven. Bombay potatoes are tip top but chicken balti needs more spice. Huge serve for the price though so 5 stars easy...

By the time my take away arrived 1 hour 40 minutes after ordering it was cold.Tried to call but it was soo late they were closed.Called the day after and was told to go somewhere else ?!!

Not very flavoursome. Pathia tasted like tomato soup, not much kick to it. Chicken tikka (dry) was soggy and not very chargrilled.

We use the Belgrave Tandoori most weekends for our favourite takeaway. The Indian cusine is of good quality, very authentic and rice is included. The staff are friendly and the prices are most affordable. I would not hesitate to recommend this fantastic takeaway.

Best in the bay. We moved away from Torquay, out of range for delivery but still make the journey to pick up a curry from here. A shame they don't open a restaurant, they'd be packed.

Have had meals from here over the last 5 months and every one have been delicious best in the bay.

We ordered 2 curries from here while on holiday for a week. It was so good we had to have it again ! Good portion size, excellent food & menu. Didn't wait long either. Wish it was nearer home !

Have used this takeaway for years but have noticed the portions getting progressively smaller. Had a takeaway tonight and the carton was half full! Sorry but when I have a takeaway I expect a full portion. Phoned to complain, owner did not want to know. If you have a small apatite Ok. If your hungry forget it.

The curries are consistent every time although we had a little gripe, Ali rectified this and they are back to top of the curry charts.

This is the best curry I ever tasted, every time I go for a weekend to Devon I make sure I pop in. The staff are so nice and helpful, especially the beautiful lady taking orders.

This is a takeaway,ordered prawn curry which comes with pilau rice,and prawn purée.It was freshly cooked and well spiced. Friendly young lady at front reception service with a smile. Prices also very reasonable considering the amount you get. Would definitely recommend giving it a try.

We've been using the Belgrave for over 40 years and the standard has always been high, any extra request is no problem therefore I wish the family another 40 years of good trading.

Miramos Comentarios hindú para llevar local, este se veía bien y tenía buenos comentarios, así que decidimos darle una oportunidad como última 2 entregas de otros hindú para llevar eran muy decepcionantes. No nos decepcionó, comida, y estaba caliente cuando me la entregaron, no necesitamos para calentar los platos! Aunque era viernes por la noche a las 7:30 pm cuando me llamó para realizar pedido, fue aquí en media hora, como lo habían prometido. Sin duda lo recomendaría.

Needed a change from the regular Indian haunts and gave this take away another go, the food is nice and the takeaway is clean, my only comment is I wish there was one or two more prices of chicken or meat in the meals and then I would score a five and I got no freebies with my order such as a popadum or pot of mint yogurt which is a nice touch when you get these included With your meal

Have been here before for a takeaway. The food is pretty good . The only thing I would say is that on going to pick up my food the young lady behind the counter had long hair which wasn't tied back and she run her fingers through it then got my poppadoms with her hands with no gloves on, so not very hygienic. Also the area where you sit and wait for collection of food needs a lick of paint as it makes the place look dirty.

This takeaway had always been pretty good over the years, with tasty food and good service, the only negative being that many dishes were too oily for some tastes. More recently, however, the quality and service seems to have taken a nosedive, and I cannot currently recommend this place over other takeaways which are much better. This place needs to improve and return to its former good standards.

I have tried other Indian takeaways in Torbay but none have even come close to the quality and flavours of this one. I have even had compliments for visitors on how much nicer it is than the ones where they live.The delivery time is about average, rangeing from 30-45 miniutes and the price is what you would expect especially considering how good it is.

First visited while on holiday in Torquay, when Mr Chowdhury still ran the place. Twenty-three years later, we still make a special pilgrimage to this wonderful takeaway. Excellent food, cheerful staff, certainly one of the very best we've encountered.How is Mr Chowdhury, we wonder? All hope he is well and presumably enjoying retirement.

This is by far the very best Indian take-away in Torquay and Torbay, I have frequented this great food emporium for years and when guests or visitors come to stay from New York, Spain, Switzerland and the all over the UK they have all boasted how delicious the food is. Word of mouth (no pun intended) says it all. Restaurant quality food to take-away. My favourite is the chicken Dhansak with extra coriander and lemon wedge!!

This place has always been a takeaway, never a restaurant. I've had more than a few meals from them over the years, collected and delivered, and never had any complaints. The food has always been excellent, hot, tasty, with good-size portions, with a service to match. The most recent order was in June 2015, and was as good as ever.

Spent a few days in torquay,and happened to be staying around the corner from this takeaway, sat:chicken madras,pilau rice,plain nan,£7.90,awesome chicken beaut,nan delicious, dont miss out on this takeaway, p.s Sunday repeated it all again,delicious. Can't wait to get back there!

Considering it is just a takeaway restaurant the staff here are so happy and friendly and always have time for a chat. . I think it represents good value for money as all their curries come with rice and the food is freshly made and is always hot and very tasty

On a mission to try as many indian Takeways as possible and this was a pleasant experience , the food was tasty and the takeaway was clean and presentable, the only negative comment is that the base sauce was a little too thin but can't dispute the good value

The Belgrave Tandoori was the first Indian takeaway to open in Torquay. It's run by Ali and his family who are very friendly and helpful. We've been buying food there for ten years and have never been disappointed.I believe it's purely takeaway, so am surprised to read the previous reviews. Perhaps they confused it with a restaurant nearby.Last time we ordered from there I had two starters, a delicious prawn puri (not often available in takeaways) and a mixed kebab with salad and mint: plenty of food for under £6. The rest of the family, including 2 vegetarians, were delighted with their food too. There is a home delivery service, free for orders over £14.The front is easy to miss, and not particularly prepossessing, but it's very clean and welcoming.

Each had a lovely curry with all the trimmings. Well cooked and served and reasonably priced. Very clean facilities. The staff were very nice.

Ate here over August bank holiday, very busy and they squeezed us in but had to wait along time to be served, food was average, good sized portions but again took 2 hours to get starter and main course - too long!
