We were in Torquay visiting family from the weekend and wanted a india takeaway went on uber and this the first one that come up, so we ordered 2 meals for one with extra chips and peshwari nan. When it arrived got a call from Ail the driver very friendly and helpful, food was nice and hot and very tasty had a chicken pathia and a chicken dansak both currys was excellent. Shame it not in Portsmouth would used it every weekend. Les and family. Friday 9th August.

Worse food didn’t taste of anything but chilli and the nan bread was hard and over cooked. No cream in the tikka masala will not be doing back again

We have used bay spice a few times now and the food is extremely well made and very tasty. The consitancy of heat of certain curries when ordered again and again is a testament to the chefs. It is now our go to if we fancy an authentic curry. ✨️

Outstanding food at every reasonable prices. Tried all the bay Indian restaurants/takeaways. This is now the only place we order from. Absolutely delicious!

First time visitors and we'll definitely be back again in the near future. Whilst the surroundings may not be the most salubrious, the enthusiasm and friendliness of the staff shines through. The food left us both satisfied and with contented full bellies - we had a starter sharer of four poppadoms (you can choose plain, spicy or a combination of the two) and I can hand on heart state the chilli lime pickle was the best I've ever tasted. The main dish portions were large; and we both commented on how tender our lamb was. I really hope this business continues to thrive and the staff retain their infectious enthusiasm - it really was quite wonderful, but at no time intrusive.

we had a party of 10 decend on the Bay Spice and we were welcomed by Mo with open arms... we were made to feel really welcome and the food and drink was good. Service Was excellent and the final bill was reasonable.

Great little restaurant with lovely staff and reasonably priced food . No other diners when we arrived but we prefer to eat early. Everything was tasty and we were offered cartons to take home our uneaten items

Very Disappointed, the omelette was just a small square thing? And the tandoori chicken tikka was so watery and had s very odd texture like bits. Will not go to again.

Fantastic food, prompt delivery. Very reasonable prices and portions..If you want a good tasty curry this is the place to go. I can highly recommend Bayspice.

Had a mammoth takeaway to cater for a party. Delivered on time, piping hot, the food was superb. Three different curries, rice, Naan bread and sides. Highly recommended, we think this is the best curry house in the Bay.

Very enjoyable meal with 12 friends. All enjoyed our tasty food in the restaurant. Only thing is having deliveroo persons turn up every 15 mins, coming past the table, for collection not great.

Very good portions. Amazing value for the set meal for 1. Pieces of chicken were massive and lots of it, all round pretty good food. From when I ordered delivery was within 30 minutes! Have ordered here a couple of times and eaten at a lot of Indians and the only issue i find is the curries are not hot enough, I order madras and it’s not really got any kick to it at all apart from that all good.

I had the mixed kebabs which comes with lettuce salad I guess, meat samosas and jalfrezi which was kinda sweet. Was not the kind I was expecting because the reviews were great. Anyways, maybe its western level spicy 😉😉 M&S ready made food is better. So far I have not found an authentic indian shop around here.

The worst restaurant in torquay.. and don’t try ever to order delivery food from them they will take 2 hours and you will not receive your order

Went to torquay from the middle of england, missed some south asian food, found thisbplace on google and ordered. As an asian who has owned a takeaway my self, im very dissapointed with the food, i dont know if this is how theyake in the south west( torquay). Naan was very small, and all the items we ordered had the same sauce, curry( sweet). And taste prety much same. Very disapointing

My family and I ate here for the first time recently, (we got a takeaway) and I have to say we were disappointed. The food came in good time and the delivery driver was friendly. However, the food lacked taste. I had the Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi and it said it was fairly hot, yet there was no heat at all. I had one small green chilli. Also, the sauce was very rich and nothing like I have ever had in a Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi. My wife had the Chicken Tikka Karahi, and it looked the same as my dish, it was even hard to taste the difference! It also was very rich and although was slightly tastier than the Jalfrezi but was nothing like any other Chicken Tikka Karahi, (and not in a good way). There was another issue too. The nan bread was the thinnest nan bread I’ve ever had and was tasteless and tough. In conclusion I would never eat here again.

Good food and service but the one thing.......the tables were covered with a Plastic Table Cloth, which stuck to our arms.!! It looked like a 50/60's cafe.!!!!

Absolutely disgusting Chicken tika masala was just tomatoe puree and massive lumps of hard inedible what was supposed to be chicken. Butter Chicken sauce was ok but again hard massive lumps of inedible chicken.Chips ok untill they started cooling then too hard to eat. Egg rice nothing like egg rice. Wont be ordering from here again awful experience

I don’t know where to start, I feel I have only just got over the trauma! The food was the worst ever tasted in the whole 40 years of my existence. The mixed grill was greasy and mostly unidentifiable, the chicken korma was like a soup with a few pieces of processed chicken sprinkled in. The chips tasted of old oil and the poppadoms and dips were bizarre, the what was supposed to be yoghurt and mint looked like Kermit the from after falling in a blender.. it was a very weird bright green colour. The chef even had the cheek to say to offer me a good prawn the next time I visit … which for the record will be the 12th of Never!

I didn’t like the food . I ordered tadka daal there was no tadka in daal no onion ginger or anythg just coriander on top of the daal . Chapati was not properly cooked . Chiken makhani was sweet like put sugar in the chiken makhni .

Ordered a delivery and, in lieu of ordering a vegetable curry, opted for several vegetarian bhajis in the hope of getting some variety of flavour. Sadly, the Brinjal Bhaji, Saag Bhaji and Cauliflower Bhaji were oily and identical in flavour and the aubergine undercooked. The Onion Bhajis and Peshwari Naan were soggy and cold - although this may be the fault of the delivery service.

Under new management, they cook fresh tasty good food! Will be back again!

Myself and my lovely wife needed a curry and bay spice provided the curry. It's local and a polite and relaxing atmosphere. The food was cooked perfectly, deliciously. Can't fault it at all. Would really recommend it!!

Excellent menu and varied, Never disappointed and very consistent. Prices have gone up but so has everything at the moment. Nice touch also portion sizes especially on the mixed grill have increased and the quality of there produce is excellent. Thanks Bay Spice.

GREEDY. AVOID took on far too many orders, waited 2 hrs for food, kept saying was having issues with drivers, so I kept trying to be understanding also because I was hungry, a delivery man delivered food to the hotel for different people from this restaurant but had no idea about our order, again called to be told it was going to be 20 mins, the man had no idea what he was doing. Honesty if you want food and are hungry just don't risk ordering from here as all goes well it just doesn't turn up. So yeah avoid! The driver was arrested due to no licence and if you look it actually has no food rating either so maybe was a good thing food never arrived as if they aren't checking their drivers you can bet the food isn't upto standards either as no one is checking that either. If you look on uber they do make you aware that delivery isn't supported through uber so drivers haven't been vetted ect and food hygiene is under review. Order at your own risk?

Got a bit of a surprise, being that I got very hot chillies instead of pickles... Also didn't know that the masala wouldn't come with rice - needs to be specified ! Other than that, tasty food, delivered earlier that expected and all-round good quality Indian food.

Beautiful individual meals for 4. The tastiest chicken tikka masala I've had in a long long time. Plenty there, fresh and the man was so friendly and helpful when ordering and collecting. Even gave us 10% off for collecting. Would not order from anywhere else again.

This was the worst curry I have ever tasted. I ordered a butter chicken but was delivered a chicken biryani. The veg curry that accompanied was inedible. Everything was smothered in lemon, including the naan bread. It arrived 1 hour late via the curry house's own driver as Just Eat did not turn up. It was cold and all went into the bin. Ordered a curry after a very difficult day. Turned up and there was barely any chicken in the sauce. Wouldn't have been enough for a child's portion. Onion bajis were soft and mushy. The garlic naan was like one shop bought aldi nann cut in 4. When rang nicely to complain the shop guy shouted and screamed down the phone like a mad man that we were liars. Unbelievable

Arrived early, driver couldnt find address but after some directions on a call managed to find me and was lovely and friendly. I was excited to find somewhere in the bay that does Masala Fish as this was something I regularly enjoyed back in the Midlands. (Masala Fish in the Midlands is normally a dry dish done on a grill whereas this was in a spicy Masala sauce.) Having said that it was absolutely delicious and I will definitely be ordering from them again. 100% recommend. Looking forward to trying some of the other yummy sounding dishes on the menu.

I booked a group of 14 people on a Saturday night - staff were friendly, the food was delicious and the service was prompt. If you are a large group, it is worth ordering in advance to ensure service is prompt.

Our Takeaway meal was absolutely terrible! Where to start and be specific - All of the food was nowhere near hot, the Onion Bhajis were luke warm, soft & mushy tasting more of flour, the Plain Naan was thick and doughy, the Garlic Naan bread was unbelievably greasy and doughy - inedible! The Papadums were soft, and the Prawn & puree had a greasy Chapati and dodgy looking red shrimps, the Mint Sauce was also luke warm (instead of cold), and a very funny synthetic green colour in tiny half-full pots for 60p each, another pot was half full of chopped onion - This does not make a salad. The Chicken Korma and Kashmiri were also luke warm, and consisted of a sauce poured over chopped cold chicken pieces - Terrible - Nothing to eat! - Would complain direct but we could not stand the thought trying to eat the same food again - even if it was hot - Avoid!!!!!

Ordered a takeaway and there was an issue with the food which was pretty bad. Very dry starters and £8.50 for a main which contained just 4 small pieces of chicken swimming in copious amounts of 'sauce'. I have tried for 2 days to contact them via 4 different methods as wanted to give them an opportunity to respond in case this was a mistake but they have completely ignored each contact. I can only assume this is the quality they provide and are quite happy with that! Very disappointing

We happened across The Bay Spice and we are glad we did! Had the most tastiest food ever and the host was so welcoming and couldn't have been more friendly. We over ordered as usual! So now have tomorrow's dinner sorted 😊

Terrible nan, possibly the worst I have ever been served. Lamb korahi very underwhelming - small amount of lamb, no discernible garlic or ginger. Others said theirs was ok but based on mine alone 2 stars is generous.

Food was delicious, the poppadoms ordered arrived stale and soggy which was off putting. Tried to call restaurant to inform so other customers didn’t get same issue but sadly the answering of phone was not fast just kept ringing out .

Lovely homemade curry. The chicken is nice and tender! Always just falls apart. Full of flavour. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a try :)

Very bad could have given negative stars if I was allowed. Took a takeaway tonight. All Nans were undercooked, you can see raw dough in them. Curries full of oil and nothing else. Dal had too much salt in it. No salad etc. I am an Indian and spice birth eating Indian food and I must say its worst I ever tasted. Will never be going back

20 of us had prebooked the restaurant, from start to finish the experience was dreadful, the service was appalling, the food was of a poor standard, the orders were all muddled up, it took two and a half hours to get our food, which was served on cold plates, the warming trays were not lit, the rice came out ten minutes before the main course. Total disaster.

Food arrived in good time, started to eat and saw what looked like a tomato skin, which turned out to be a piece of hard sharp plastic. That item could have cut my throat on the inside. Called the company to inform them, although apologetic there isn't anything they can do, so that me going without dinner and we certainly won't be ordering from there again. If you do choose to order frome here CHECK YOUR FOOD!!!

Fantastic takeaway, first time we ordered on line. They didn’t charge us a delivery charge. However I would be happy to pay it next time. Excellent food…
