Hours not updated we came Thursday at noon but it was closed

Really clean place, discovered it as a surprise, the lamb jalfrezi was fantastic very unique flavours and was tender. The raita was done right with the mix of salads, and beautiful egg fried rice. The timing was excellent priced very well and excellent service thank you so much from Birmingham!

AVOID at ALL COSTS! (especially due to the rude Manager / Owner)! We came across this restaurant and thought of giving it a try. It all started well, but once the food arrived, it was undercooked and raw. While paying the, we tried giving our feedback to the manager / owner (person in glasses) and his response was, "I heard you, what do you want me to do". Such people do not deserve to be in the food industry, especially when small children are consuming this food as customers too. Add to that, he was adamant that we pay in cash only. When we denied, he provided the bank account number to transfer the bill amount. The only positive point was the server, who was very friendly and helpful. We thanked him on our way out! Please avoid this place and do not go on the handful reviews that resulted this location in getting 4.7 stars!

Having struggled for authentic Mallu food in the UK till now, I've finally found an oasis...lovely people manning it, and closest-to-Kerala dishes on the table. I am safe now! 😁

Wasn't great - the prawn biryani was tasteless and in what was a first for me, I had to ask for some salt to bring a little bit of zing to the dish, it had no flavour..My other half ordered.the Kofte which was essentially onion bhaji in a sauce from the curry pot,.the pilau rice was greasy. In essence - 3 poppadoms, 1 starter, 2.mains,.1 pilau, a (flat) IPA, and 1 bottle of water was about £42 - disappointing.

Food is amazing and the place is nicely kept.

First visit to Malabar lounge and the food was fantastic, we all loved our meals and after visiting every Indian in the bay over the years this was by far the best food we have had. Keep up the good work 👌🏼

Absolutely superb, thrilled to be able to get a proper dosa, will definitely be coming here on a regular basis. Spotless restaurant, great service and delicious food 🙌 we had Masala Dosa and Ghee Roast (plain dosa).

Very authentic flavours which were delicious! We shared a few different curries (Kottayam beef, raw mango fish curry, King prawn moilee) and all had very distinct and amazing tastes. The service was wonderful and I will definitely be back!

Excellent food, great service at a very reasonable price

Food was great , it’s a nice comfortable atmosphere and polite staff. I definitely recommend this place and good choice of curries.

Quantity of the curry is less compared to the price, so bit more expensive.

Note: Cash only. This is my first time here. I started with mutton rolls which were lovely. The flavour of the mutton and and spices fuse well and they're really tasty. Following that was Cochin lamb peralan with a peshwari naan. The lamb curry is fairly dry, and has a fair amount of coconut in the thick sauce. It's medium hot with a lovely flavour and very tender meat. The naan bread was slightly crispy (in a good way) without being burnt, had good flavour and was ideal for eating the curry with. The masala chai (Tea) after the meal tasted freshly made and couldn't be faullted. The place was clean, including the toilet and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. This place is a hidden gem and worth seeking out. I will definitely go again.

We love Indian food and because we recently visited India it has made us more critical of the restaurants we have in the UK and it's always hard to choose which restaurant to try when visiting somewhere new. We found this one which didn't have many reviews but were all good, it's not in the main tourist area which we like and is situated in a basement which has a lovely feel to it. It was really quiet as we went on a Sunday night, the staff were really friendly and attentive without being overbearing and the food was delicious 😋. We noticed that there were a lot of takeaways being collected so this is obviously very popular with the locals. This restaurant is a hidden gem

My wife and I ordered a takeaway a lamb byriani and chicken jalfreze both very average in taste and quantity. No veg curry with the byriani? Better elsewhere.

Such disappointing food. I ordered a dosa. A huge dosa was delivered but it had a really insufficient amount of filling. I ordered spinach and mushroom but it was mainly potato. It was SO bland and the dishes that came with it were equally poor. My partner ordered a chicken dish and says that he's had better Indian food from Asda. The naan didn't arrive until far too late. We eat Indian very often and Sri Lankan less so, but this has to be the worse one we've ever had. It's sad to have to write such a poor review but we really were so disappointed

Great find at the top end of Union Street opposite Clarks. A refreshing change from the usual Bangladeshi Indian food that is in almost every other Indian restaurant Stunning authentic South Indian food, we'll definitely be back.

Worst food . Spend 24pound for kotayam beef and chicken peper roast . Beef curry gravy tasted exactly like egg curry and the quatity is less. Chicken peper rost taste is below average overall dissatisfied 😡

Worst Indian restaurant I've ever been in. Cold food, no plates, no rice, ran out of beer and the microwave was working flat out and if you tried to look into the kitchen the staff tried to block your view. Also very difficult to communicate with the staff so further mistakes were made

Authentic Malabar dishes but the quantity of the starters are very less and the price is a bit high. Kerala parotta and raw mango fish curry is a must try.

Went to this restaurant before going to the cinema next door. Good,efficient friendly staff ,very good food . My wife had a mushroom and spinach Dosa.really good portion. I had Lamb Birriani,very well cooked and served. Starters were good,it's not overly priced either. Well worth a visit .
