The best restaurants serving Indian food in Basingstoke and Deane South East

First time dining here and the food was delicious. Dahl was nice but a little bland and could of been more spicy. Thought the poppadoms were a little pricey and the rice portions were quite small. Chicken and lamb dish was tasty. Trio of desserts was scrumptious and my favourite was the tiramisu. Would return and recommend this restaurant.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Chennai Express! Everything we tried was full of authentic flavors and beautifully prepared. We started with the Papdi Chaat and Medu Vada, both of which were delicious. My wife had the Ghee Roast which was perfectly cooked. I had the Chilli Coriander Naan with Home Style Lamb Curry. The Lamb Curry was packed with flavor and absolutely delicious! A special mention goes to Ash, who served us with genuine warmth and professionalism. He was incredibly polite and attentive, and his recommendations were spot on. Although the prices are on the higher side, the quality of the food and the excellent service make it well worth it.

It's my first time dining here, and this is one of the best Indian food I've had in the south of England The flavors are bold, rich, and well-balanced, with a clear South Indian and Keralan influence shining through. Every dish is beautifully spiced, fragrant, and cooked to perfection. An absolute gem of a restaurant—if I'm in town, I shall be back. 3 stars for atmosphere as I was there early on Thurs . Big space and not so busy yet. But no fault of the decor and music.

Beautiful food and great staff. Had a wondeful evening celebrating our anniversary. Definitely will be back to visit again.

A fabulous meal, service by Sid was warm, effficient and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. All food freshly cooked, tasty and very enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit. We will be back if ever in the area. Thank you.

Superb food - fresh, vibrant and very very good. In my local village pub - this is an oasis of culinary delight in a sea of pub chaos!

I've forgotten to leave reviews but this is my absolute favourite restaurant to eat at. Whether im ordering takeaway or eating in the food is lovely, but most of all its the service for me. The bearded waiter is usually the one serving us and i love to chat with him on quiet nights during the week. I can see myself coming here for a long time.

So ordered for delivery this evening and was quoted 45mins to 1 hour, at 6:40pm which was early enough to avoid the rush that usually happens most weekends, while I’ve used this place multiple times over the years and delivery has always been hit and miss today takes the title as worst experience, not only am I spending a lot of money on food for delivery as a weekend treat for the family I then try to contact the company and am met with engaged response on phone, when I finally get through the gentleman on the other end of the phone informs me that it should be on the way in next 10-15 minutes (that was at 20:10) and guess what ….. yep that’s right I’m still waiting, anyways back to the chap on the phone, apart from the snigger in his voice when I explained that this was not good enough I was offered no apologies and no offer of any compensation….. not that I want hand outs but at least an apology rather then laughter and sniggering down the phone, absolutely will never be returning to here for an order, utterly disgusting customer service FYI 20:30 no delivery still!

I order food from here quite a lot and the more I order it’s become hit and miss. Ok so I ordered dinner for my wife and I and I have got to say I was very disappointed the naan was not fresh but bought by them in a bag as it was very doughy( I no my naans) secondly the curry was just not good, very very disappointing but I think it time I find another Indian sorry Cromwell but you have let me down several times!!!
