The best restaurants serving Indian food in Basingstoke and Deane South East

First time dining here and the food was delicious. Dahl was nice but a little bland and could of been more spicy. Thought the poppadoms were a little pricey and the rice portions were quite small. Chicken and lamb dish was tasty. Trio of desserts was scrumptious and my favourite was the tiramisu. Would return and recommend this restaurant.

Went here for a work do, staff were brilliant looking after us all (we were a noisy bunch of lads!) Food was amazing, highly recommended

The ambiance of Elai is beautiful and comfortable, making it a perfect spot for a casual meal or a special occasion. I would highly recommend as the food is absolutely delicious, with every dish bursting with flavour and amazing presentation. The variety on the menu make sure there is something for everyone. A fabulous meal, service by Sid was warm, effficient and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. All food freshly cooked, tasty and very enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit. We will be back if ever in the area. Thank you.

Superb food - fresh, vibrant and very very good. In my local village pub - this is an oasis of culinary delight in a sea of pub chaos!

Exemplary. We ordered food to be collected, but during the collection process our car suffered a flat battery. The staff did all they could to help. They suggested we wait within the restaurant whilst we were waiting for the AA and served the takeaway food there. The meal was amazing, and some of the best I've had, rivalling Mem Saab in Nottingham. Thank you again.

Another complaint about the lack of attentiveness on New Year’s Eve. We chose this restaurant as we had been here several times a few years ago. When we arrived we asked if we could be moved from the table that had been allocated to us as it was near the door. We were told ‘no’ that was the table we had to have, despite there being several empty tables free further back from the door. We waited ages to be served and there were loads of delivery drivers and people collecting takeaways all through the evening, this resulted in us feeling cold and it wasn’t a nice relaxing experience due to the number of comings and goings. The food was mediocre and the whole experience not as good as several years ago. Wouldn’t go here again or recommend this place.

Booked a table for 4 at 6pm on Christmas Eve and when we arrived they had given our table to another party that booked at 8pm. We were unable to take the 8pm slot and all they could offer us was takeaway (he wouldn't accommodate us in any other way). Very very disappointed as this was my first time visiting, won't be coming again!

I order food from here quite a lot and the more I order it’s become hit and miss. Ok so I ordered dinner for my wife and I and I have got to say I was very disappointed the naan was not fresh but bought by them in a bag as it was very doughy( I no my naans) secondly the curry was just not good, very very disappointing but I think it time I find another Indian sorry Cromwell but you have let me down several times!!!
