Had a lovely dinner here. Service and food were excellent.

Lovely food as ever. Bit slow bringing the bill but I want in a rush.

We’ve been eating here since the 1980’s. Several different owners and alternative names eg Romna Tandoori. Wonderful food which we liken to what home cooking in India would be like.

Great food here. It's very 70's inside but I love that about it. Food and service has always been great. Will definitely return.

I've forgotten to leave reviews but this is my absolute favourite restaurant to eat at. Whether im ordering takeaway or eating in the food is lovely, but most of all its the service for me. The bearded waiter is usually the one serving us and i love to chat with him on quiet nights during the week. I can see myself coming here for a long time.

We ate here last night & thoroughly enjoyed it. Never have we experienced such great hospitality as we did here. The food was excellent too. Definitely recommend visiting this restaurant if you are in the area. Many thanks 🙏

Love this place. Its small and seems hidden away, but make sure you find it as the food is excellent. I organised a curry night here for 8, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

One of the best curry houses about. In fact I don’t think I’ve had a better Madras anywhere. It’s also really reasonable in price. Well worth your time and money.

Without doubt my first go to for any take-out or eat in. Staff are great people and ran by a lovely women herself chef is 2nd the none. The food is spot on! and big up the drivers .. never late and very well respected. Good restaurant ;)

Don't deliver after 9:50pm and foods cold mids at best never actually had a good meal from you guys but was desperate tonight

Ordered takeaway on a Friday night, which we knew might take a while. The estimate given was 70 minutes. After 90 we called to see where the food was and were told it was on its way. It arrived 2 hours after we ordered. The driver was apologetic and said he'd given us a free beer. However when we got inside we realised our naan bread was missing. We called the restaurant and were told they would get one sent out to us. 2 hours later it has yet to arrive.

Very enjoyable food and service good

Another Indian I love in Basingstoke. This is my group of friends’ chosen restaurant when we dine out. While it’s not my personal favorite because it’s a bit harder for me to get to, it’s still amazing. The food is top-notch, and the service is fast. The staff are friendly, and the restaurant is often not too busy, which I appreciate.

Food and staff are both always lovely. We like to think of this as a home from home.

Indian cuisines, Very delicious. Fabulous Family dine out. Food was very tasty and very fresh. Chicken tandoori, Indian breads are master class. We never expected the food to be some fresh, tried several restaurants never been this happy, I have never seen this taste and quality at a very good price. Excellent service!

Excellent traditional Indian restaurant. If you are in Basingstoke have a few beers and fancy a curry this is the place. The chef even accommodated for my keema preference and made me a bespoke dish to my spec. He made a good impression on my taste buds 🌶️😋🤗

Best Indian takeaway in Basingstoke. We’ve tried them all since moving here and this restaurant has the best tasting curries. The chef’s special Chicken Chom Chom was very good. The delivery came on time and the food was hot. Price was reasonable. Definitely will be ordering again.

I've passed this curry house in Basingstoke innumerable times over the years. Today, I ate here. It's good! Service good. Food tasty and authentic.

Visited on a week night after seeing a concert at the Anvil. I used to come here regularly when I lived in Basingstoke so it was good to see that it's still here, and we were very happy to find the food was really good. They cater for veggie/vegan and staff were very helpful despite us arriving fairly late in the evening and (I guess) making them stay open longer than they might have expected - we were the only people there. Would recommend pathia and dhansak dishes. Also channa masallah was really good. Thank-you very much for such a nice meal, I won't leave it so long before coming back next time

Have been here a couple of times with my girlfriend and it’s a solid and reliable restaurant - she wanted to give it four stars. The food is always quick and the service is brilliant, both times we’ve been served by the same waitress and she does a fantastic job. It’s great value for money and is definitely much, much closer to a four star than a two star review. I’ve also never tried Bangla Beer before and that was nice also! Definitely a bosh.

Has a meal at the Agra Bali this evening. Was very impressed with the warm welcome and excellent friendly service provided. Food was good and made even better by the level of service we received. I have not been to the restaurant in about 25 years, but so pleased I went this evening and will defiantly return.

Food was cold horrible didn't get my full order and rude on phone would not recommend at all 1hour 50 mins till delivered ... disgusting food .... further to your reply ....and u will find a few people ate the food and clearly didn't like it as went in the bin so they are entitled to leave a review as well ... plus u know the order I'm on about as ringing my number on private number and leaving a voicemail .. so why lie

I have been using the Agra for over 3 years now, and the food is always superb. When dining in we are always made to feel welcome and well looked after by the friendly polite staff. Deliveries are nearly always prompt and earlier than advised.

Ordered nearly 50 pounds worth food was vile customer service was shocking no offer refund compensation even my dog turned his nose now that's saying something

I would say this was the worst Indian I have ever had. 45 mins late, phoned and they said it's on its way, 20 mins later it turned up. I can bike it in 15 mins. The food was lukewarm but I was hungry after waiting 45 mins. The food had not taste, it was bland absolutely no flavour. The onion bhaji was flat like a pancake and again did not taste that good. The samosas were rubbish. Ordered the keema and cheese naan and it was a naan with 1 bit of keema with a handful of cheese. Only tried because the 20%discount will not try again. Go to Chinham Tandoori 100 times better.

Delicious meals delivered to home: lamb gown, tender and spicy, mixed tandoori grill, tasty and plentiful, egg fried rice perfect.

Food was a disaster, stay away.

Delicious food but the quality of the meat is what makes it fail. Too tough & chewy.

This was our favourite curry house to go to. We ate in/ ordered takeaway 1-2 times a month. The last 4 times it’s got gradually worse. Today was the final straw. They were meant to issue a refund for a watery cold meal last week and said it would go in the next day and it was never received. I called them today and agreed we would just place another order instead of a refund. It’s almost as if they were annoyed. Both curries wernt full. They were made inedibly spicy and the chips wernt cooked properly still half hard. To say i am disappointed is an understatement but after the last few chances it’s clear the food really isn’t the same. A very reliable customer lost.

Had the chicken balti not a lot of chicken 4 pieces and loads of massive onions when I asked to take it off my bill they gave me 10% off other food was average

Used before and was good and delivered to us fine, but today used for dinner, ordered online and the website said that we were out of their delivery area but we could continue for a fee of £3.00 which was fine. It said it should be between 6.45 and 7.00, at 7.15 it was still not here so we rang and they said they did not realise how far out we were and they were going to call us to explain but they did not ,and as they accepted it they were going to honour it. They said it would be OK to order again but only on weekends. 5 minutes later the delivery driver arrived and handed us the food and said manager said do not order from us again which we found very rude service, so don't worry we will not use you again. Food was OK though, chicken quite dry though.

First time having a meal here and have to say the reviews did not disappoint.....the staff were lovely and very attentive & suggested we try a couple of starters and the agra grill-which was delicious, especially as I am not a fan overly hot spicy food...overall enjoyed a lovely evening here. Delicious food at a reasonable price, lovely service

Excellent food, very tasty. The five of us had a lovely evening and enjoyed a good selection of dishes including their Chicken Karahi, Lamb Bhubaneswar and Chicken Biryani.

They last few deliveries I've had have been not much better than terrible. Last week July 2021 I had one. Took over an hour more than They said and the food was poor. I had a Lamb Vindi and the meat was rock hard pre cooked leather. My wife's Mix Tandoori grill was over cooked, as was my mixed starter and the food was dead cold. We will not be back again.

Delivery takes a long time, usually an hour in our experience, so plan ahead. Worth the wait. Great food.

we ordered tonight for first time , I have been looking forward to the restaurant opening again for dine in as we have recently moved to the top of town and I thought we would try home delivery before booking when restrictions are lifted. Well, we were not disappointed, it was delivered on time, hot and so tasty, portions were generous and it all tasted fresh .The website made it really easy to order on line and there was lots of choice, some old faves, and some dishes we have not tried before. can't wait to visit the restaurant

I was served by a very cheerful and friendly young lady who I believe is the owner of the business. The food was hot, tasty , with succulent meat and prawns, all seasoned in their different sauces. Very happy. Will be going again, Hope to eat in again one day instead of takeaway.

Great takeaway, and not too expensive. Always a friendly reception when i go to collect, and once lockdown is over i hope to have an eat-in meal!

Ordered on line for the first time and asked for a 6pm delivery slot. Our food arrived on time and tasted delicious. I have been using the Agra Balti for 30 years when it was the Romna. It was good food back then and is now. A cracking little restaurant.

WOW 🤩 I had given up that there was any authentic curry place available in Basingstoke. Best Daal I’ve had to pay for and I ordered something that was not on the menu and was accommodated. Delivered in a good time as well and didn’t take hours like some of the other places. Will definitely be ordering again, please keep up the amazing standards.

First time eating here and I was hugely impressed. Food was absolutely fantastic. Tastiest curry I've had in a fair while. The restaurant was absolutely rammed but the service was still quick & courteous. Only downside is say is the beer was a bit overpriced in my opinion.

Thought I’d give Agra a try tonight for the first time. It was absolutely beautiful! Lovely food, really lovely. I ordered online and collected. Really friendly too. Highly recommend. I’ve tried many Indian restaurants in basingstoke over the years and this one is up there. Don’t be put off by the outside. Lovely food. Thanks

Though we enjoyed takeaways from the Agra during lockdown, we were so excited to dine in, as have missed this little curry heaven. We had some initial concerns, as how dinning out is going to work. But I have to say, the staff made us feel so comfortable, and safe, more safe than in a supermarket. The staff greeted us with smiles, and were wearing gloves, masks etc. They had all the government guidelines in place, signage, hand sanitising station at the entrance etc. As we entered they asked us to antibac our hands, as we sat down, they told us some rules, asked us to fill out our details, maintained social distance with customers and staff. They also ensured at all times there was at least 1m plus between tables. It was also good to see them continuously clean surfaces religiously through service, wipe chairs, tables and clean the toilets after every use. Now on to the service and food, the service was relaxed and excellent, the staff seemed genuinely happy to be back. The food was amazing, we ordered onion bhajis which were crispy, and delicious, and the lamb tikka was tender and flavoursome. For the mains we orders chicken kurma and chicken Naga, with pilau rice and peshwari nan, and have to say it was divine, the kurma was the best I have had in a long time, just the correct amount of sweetness. My husband's enjoyed the naga too. He said it had the correct amount of hotness and flavours. The portions were also generous. Overall best curry we have had in a long time, thank you Agra. Keep up the good work. Also the place looked fresh and loved the new paint. :)

Loved it , chicken naga was fantastic rice and accompanying dishes cooked well and very tasty Overall experience as 5*

£26 for 2 dishes. The mixed tandoori grill is overpriced and completely tasteless. The butter chicken was sweet and just disgusting; we couldn't being ourselves to finish it. Got a takeaway to support a local restaurant in these difficult times but we have just thrown our money away. Don't waste yours

I have not had a sit down meal at this Balti house so can not comment on the service, atmosphere or setting, however I have had a take away.In all my many years of eating Indian food in different parts of Britain, both eating in and take away, I have always had a good experience. This is the first meal that I can really say wasn't worth having. It lacked the usual beautiful flavours and was absolutely disappointingI was surprised to read the reviews of others who gave it 4 or 5 stars.Don't know what happened the night we ordered!

Awesome food and service once again! Tried the 2 of the new dishes shatkora ghost and the tawa. They shatkora ghost was rich and flavoursome. The Tawa was cooked to perfection, and the cheese was a good touch. If you want authentic food in a cozy setting with attentive stuff this is the place to go.

We visited the Agra with a group of family members, we hadn't been for 5 years since moving to Australia, the Agra used to be one of our favourite places to eat. This time the food was good but not as good as we remembered. Service was good.

went for a birthday meal. Whipped away our popadoms before we had finished eating them. Food was luke warm and not very nice. Tried to overcharge my card. Offered us shot on the house which never materialised. Probably the worst Indian I have ever had.

Great food and service, it is very nice to see a few unusual dishes on the menu. We really liked the tandoori dishes and the duck dishes, as pictured. The restaurant itself is a little dated, but not much more so than the competitors along this road. I can safely recommend this restaurant for a good meal, some unique dishes and great service. With a little work to improve the interior it would be a clear 5 stars, but for now a solid 4.5 stars. Well worth a visit!

Visited the Agra while working in the area with 3 colleagues. It is quite a small restaurant but we had no problem getting seated on a quiet Monday night. We all had something different from the menu and the portion sizes were good and we all agreed that the food was excellent. The only fownside was the loud phone used to receive take away orders. Will definitely visit again.
