Best indian restaurant in maidstone, it never fails to impress. Great food, great service..staff have always extremely friendly and very efficient….the only drawback is that some nights it can be noisy …but that’s because it’s always full due to being it’s so popular.

Have used this place for years, but it’s become a victim of its own success. 50 minutes after being sat they take our order, after asking three times to be told two minutes. No drinks service at all and then while half table still eating they start clearing the table, leaning over people as the next booking for our table has arrived. 50 mins to order is why it’s over run. Such a shame as the food is amazing.

Hugely disappointed, ordered a takeaway from Tamarind on Saturday evening. We were told it would be an hour and 20 min wait which we were ok with. Two and a half hours later still no delivery. My partner tried calling 6 times using the number he placed the order with, no reply. We then called from a different number and the call was answered straight away. Clearly we were being ignored as they knew our order was so late, but they were happy to answer a call for new business. Can’t rate the food as we got so fed up waiting we made something by else and turned the food away when it eventually turned up. The wait was bad enough but being ignored made the whole thing worse. A bit of honesty would’ve gone a long way.

First time diner last night for their Thali Tuesday, which we all enjoyed. I haven't had a Thali in ages and this menu was varied. The food was tasty and the service attentive. The samosa desserts are a real treat too. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

For context, I have been brought up with curry houses in the west midlands A frequent visitor to the balti triangle. I have been looking for a good curry in the banbury /west oxfordshire area for a year now. Nothing really tickled my fancy been looking for a good curry house to represent whstbi have experienced form a young age, as well showcase good Asian food to my girlfriend who hasn't really experienced it apart from bad takeaways or really bad supermarket versions. Jool did that everything seasoned to perfection. Nothing too small to ask for service amazing I felt guilty I didn't have spare change for a tip Will be going again to try more dishes We chose from the banquet menu.plenty of food. Sadly we had been to the cinema and couldn't do justice to the meal they gladly packed up for absecond attempt at a glorious meal at the weekend. If you want to taste of what a balti should be go here

Overall I thought the Olive was nice and after a recent 'not great experience' at another very nearby Indian Restaurant, this was definitely a much better experience. It was nice to 'not be shouted at' by the people serving. My biggest issue with The Olive however is not the quality or flavour of the food, it's the sweetness. My Keralan Prawn Curry was 'Dessert Sweet', very sugary which made it quite sickly and after mining out the few very lovely prawns I was left with lots of extremely sweet sauce. If there were 'low sugar options' that would be great. Not everyone has a sweet tooth so please, dial down the sugar so we can enjoy the lovely flavours you create. I should add, this is not an issue solely with the Olive. I find most Indian food served is overly sweet.
