The best restaurants serving Indian food in South East

Food was very tasty when it finally arrived. We were a large group, but the 1.5 hour wait was a little too much. Nice service, quick when it comes to drinks and friendly. Unfortunately the rice was only lukewarm.

It's now been taken over by new management, A lot of changes are in place. I personally feel. It's not the same atmosphere now. Staff Don't ask if your food is ok, no hot plates. They have an idea that it's ok to put a lamp on with no safety cover. (See Photos) Portions are all sauces and lumps of meat pending on what you eat. And certain dishes are smaller than before, and I certainly won't be going back.

Just finished what has to be the freshest, tastiest Indian we have had in a long time, if not ever. Exceptional food, the kebabs were epic! Maybe a long way from home in Bedfordshire but next time we are in the area we will be back.

Good menu choice. Large helpings. Service is friendly but slower when they are busy. A favourite.

Had a fantastic meal at Spice Lounge in Burford – everything was spot on. I had the garlic tawa chicken and it was absolutely amazing, packed with flavour and cooked perfectly. The whole group really enjoyed their food, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and delicious dishes. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Enjoyed a wholesome south indian dinner with family. Loved Cauliflower 65, Poricha Kozhi, Masala Dosa and Gunpowder idli. Thanks to Ahmed for the special hospitality.

Went for a stag do, everyone had a good time. First time I have been there, Eastbourne is a bit difficult to navigate at the moment,lots of road closure, but well worth a visit.

Visited with friends this time. Jewels is the best Indian restaurant I have been to in the UK. The service is wonderful, the food is to die for. Visiting Jewels is always an occasion we look forward to. Can’t wait to come back! Justin, thanks as always.

We were on holiday in the area and decided to visit this restaurant on a very cold Tuesday evening in early March,so understandably it was quiet and we were the only ones in the restaurant ,.Everything from the Goat Rogan gosht , lamb Korma and Ali gobi plus starters were cooked to perfection and we felt this was a genuine Indian experience .The staff were very friendly and welcoming and if we get the chance would definitely revisit

Hugely disappointed, ordered a takeaway from Tamarind on Saturday evening. We were told it would be an hour and 20 min wait which we were ok with. Two and a half hours later still no delivery. My partner tried calling 6 times using the number he placed the order with, no reply. We then called from a different number and the call was answered straight away. Clearly we were being ignored as they knew our order was so late, but they were happy to answer a call for new business. Can’t rate the food as we got so fed up waiting we made something by else and turned the food away when it eventually turned up. The wait was bad enough but being ignored made the whole thing worse. A bit of honesty would’ve gone a long way.
