Authentic Nepalese food? then head for this excellent eatery. Best Nepalese food since being in Nepal. Myself and 2 daughters all considered the menu, service and our choices top class. Daughters also rate desserts very highly and they are experts. If i am ever in the area again I shall certainly visit again. only 3 miles from Hawk Conservatory

Ordered a takeaway on the restaurants website - I’ve eaten the curries many times and I still think it’s the best I’ve eaten - the Gurkha hill boy lamb curry was exceptional - meat cooked on the charcoal grill in a delicious rich sauce. I like the new efficient web ordering.

Wonderful food, shame about the awful service, waited a long time to give our orders in, waiter did not smile once, other waiters seem to not care about the customers, saw them leaning on the bar doing nothing, do not think we will be going back there, would not recommend this place to my friends, such a shame because the food was so tasty.

We tried a number of starters and mains, rice and naan. Delicious food, a good range of choice and great service. Our first time visiting - we will definitely be back.

Absolutely loved their food! Good, healthy meals. Delicious and delicate combination of flavors. This restaurant is on my favorites list!

My mum went to this restaurant with family today. She said the food was wonderful, the service was perfect, and the staff were friendly, courteous and kind. She would like to recommend Gurkha Baynjan to anyone reading this and intends to visit again soon.

We were down for the BTCC weekend at Thruxton. 3 of us went Saturday night as we were staying local. Food was fantastic recommend the Everest Lamb, the lamb fell apart and was extremely tasty. Service was ok not fantastic, asked numerous times if we had finished eating when we clearly hadn't. Reasonably priced.

Can't rate this highly enough. A superb midweek lunch out in the countryside near the mainline station of Grately in Hampshire. Delicious tender meats in subtle fragrant sauces. Everything we ordered was outstanding. It's not often we heap praise on a restaurant but this stood out amongst so many others. A friendly & professional family run team delivering authentic meals using fresh and natural ingredients without any hint of msg or strange colourings anywhere. Such a welcome change. We will be back with friends & family very soon......

Short notice family visit; based on a steer from them I organised a take-away dinner for four, which didn't disappoint. I live in the SW London Balham/Tooting area which has numerous Asian restaurants; the Gurka Baynjan was an unexpected and pleasant surprise equal to the best of them.

Searching for a Sunday curry with family to celebrate Mother’s Day and following recommendations we booked. Didn’t disappoint. Whilst it was quiet, the food and service were excellent and it’s great to see the variety of Nepalese with the influence of India and China. Will return

We wanted to try something different and we were very glad we did. The food was excellent. Each dish we chose was delicious and the service was superb. We will definitely be going back with our family.

We discovered in late autumn that the pub now has a Nepalese restaurant and went to investigate. We have mow been three times with various friends and we all agree that the food is spectacular. The portions are good and the flavours are superb. As ‘curry’ lovers its always encouraging, when the food arrives at the table, to see that each dish looks quite different and certainly the flavours of each dish that we have tried over the various visits have been completely individual. We have recommended to others and will be back ourselves. The owner is friendly and attentive, as have been the other staff.

Absolutely delicious meal. Staff very attentive and the atmosphere was very relaxed, you never felt rushed. The lamb starter was cooked to perfection.

Absolutely first class and just can't fault at all. Great choice of menu and food was absolutely superb. Service great too and nothing too much trouble. 2nd time we've been here and both times been fantastic. Definitely recommend and will absolutely be back.

So sad, really excited about finding a local unusual restaurant , but what a disaster. Table for 4 for a celebration, early evening ….but, walked out after 2 hours waiting for our meal to arrive and we weren’t the only ones . bad news travels fast and this one needs to travel fast, AVOID. completely ruined our evening and went home for something to eat…. A disgrace. GG

Booked our table for 6.30 pm, we eventually walked out at 9pm after only receiving our starters. The starters were lovely (after waiting an hour) but another hour passed and no main course was forthcoming. No explanation or apology for the delay was given which was very disappointing. We did notice plenty of takeaways being collected and the owner seemed very relaxed talking at the bar. I spoke to the waitress at the bar and offered to forgo our main course to help other customers get there meal, she empathised with me and went to the kitchen and said they were about to cook our meal and it wouldn’t be long. This was now two and a half hours into our visit, so we declined. Other customers around us also left with the same issues. No apology or explanation or discount was given which left a bad taste. It’s a shame as I had recommended this restaurant to friends and I looked foolish.

The food is outstanding, very friendly staff. Deserves to be more popular. A little out of the way but worth the effort.

Oh my goodness. The tastiest food we have ever had. The flavours were out of this world. I can’t believe it wasn’t packed. The staff were attentive and super friendly. If I had to pick one thing to make it perfect it would just to add some background music as at times it was super silent and hearing people chew is never good lol.

This Restaurant is fantastic! fabulous food! Great Friendly Service. We went for our Anniversary to this place for a change....so pleased we did. Had a great night! and the prices were very reasonable the cheapest & best we have had so far. Can't fault them or praise them enough....Thankyou

For many decades I have eaten curries in Nepal, India, Europe and in the United Kingdom. The most recent curries I have feasted on have been at The Gurkha Baynjang in Grately. I can honestly say that every dish served under the supervision of the friendly and helpful owner, Mr Bagbir Pun (Baggy), has been delicious and reasonably priced. If the reader of this review has an hour or so to spare to dine at the Gurkha Baynjang they will be delighted. I grade his curries ‘Outstanding’. David.

What amazing food. One of the best Indian/Nepalese restaurants I’ve ever been to. How it only has two reviews on here is beyond me. Had the chicken wing lollipops and jhir (unbelievable kebab of deliciousness). The sag paneer was also mostly paneer which was brilliant.

went there for a family evening meal and were served extremely delicious food!!! also, the staff was very friendly 👍 all in all an awesome restaurant

It's great to see something different open up here. The food here is delicious and there is so much to choose from on the menu. Definitely worth a try!
