Bengal Cuisine in Brighton and Hove

I use Bengal cuisine as my go to Indian on a regular basis. Having tried and tested most Indian take aways in Brighton over the last 30 years, I personally always have an excellent experience. From promt delivery, friendly staff to food always arriving hot, fresh and tasty. If you like a bit of heat to your curries they definatley deliver. Excellent value for money too and if you create an account through their website you get ongoing credits to discount your meal. Don t hesitate to try them if your looking for a great Indian take away.

Best curry in brighton! Can really taste the unique flavours of every dish. I'd recommend going out of your comfort zone and trying something new, I've had loads of stuff from this place and yet to find a dish I do not like

Really good food and large portions.

Our food took just under two hours to arrive. It was thankfully still warm-ish but not hot. Surprised that they didn't include any poppadoms at all - first time I've had an Indian takeaway where the restaurant didn't include any. When we called up after about an hour and a half we were told that the food was on the way, and sorry they'd had loads of orders this evening. Just a suggestion for the restaurant - if you can't cope with the volume of orders that are coming through from a service like Just Eat, maybe stop accepting them all, as it's going to affect the reviews you get on here. There are loads of Indian takeaways to choose from in Brighton and the service we received this evening was pretty lousy. Reading through previous reviews this isn't an isolated incident (same goes for the lack of poppadoms!) so perhaps consider listening to your customer feedback? All that whinging aside, our food tasted great. It would have benefited from being a bit warmer but the flavours were good. Thank you.

Cold.... 3 calls to restaurants arrived 1 hour late and missing items. a redelivery required another 45 minutes later. Restaurant very apologetic. But when you have friends waiting it’s a bit embarrassing . Will not order from this place again..

Order was delivered 1 hour late , 2 hours after we ordered it . Food was cold . Restaurant were polite when called but didn’t really do much apart from apologies. It showed as delivered on the app well before it was delivered.

Absolutely awful food. Poppadoms missing, vegetable curry pure oil, chicken korma just like water, onion bhajis blow your head off spicy. Huge cardamon seeds in all currys. Called restaurant to complain and they hung up on me!

Food didn't even arrive.... now trying to get a refund...

Unfortunately no onion salad, no salad, no mint sauce and the poppadums were just a big of crumbs. The dishes were delicious as usual thou.

Nice food Unfortunately the lid came off the mint sauce and the poppadoms were soft. Maybe not good to put them in the same bag as the hot food. Would recommend the food none the less.

Let down! Food was very average, meal was bland, chicken was dry very and soulless, not worth the money!

For the amount you pay for an Indian takeaway you usually get a lot more. The food was lovely however there were no free poppadums which you expect with this kind of order, and the quantity of food delivered was a lot less than you would usually expect for Indian take out. Amazing service and fast delivery and the food was lovely. Just a bit over priced.

Great service and great food the only thing we didn't enjoy was the sag paneer but i guess it's only because we know it to be very creamy and cheesy from other places and this wasn't but we can't really complain. Will certainly order here in the future. The dansak was the best I've ever had :)

Absolutely STUNNING food!! Honestly my new fav curry house in Brighton I’ll 100% be ordering from here again!! However the 30% discount was advertised at £20, but it didn’t apply when we did this and it only triggered after adding to over £30!

Everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavour with the exception of the lamb bhuna which was very oily. Will order from here again though

Although the food was amazingly tasty, it was 45 minutes late and the app advised the food had been delivered. Not great.

Only one poppadom and the saag paneer only had spinach in it and no cheese. Awful. Many gold Indians in Brighton avoid this one

OK my name is Adrian and quite simply curry is my church. Now Bengal have without fail delivered lovely curries ( King Prawn in garlic infused oil & green beans is a must chef's special ) The vegetarian dishes that are 90% of my orders are great and not skimpy on the aubergine/brinjal and the cauliflower mains are wolf down amazing. Vindaloo not over the top hot so I ask for added chillies to complement. Keep it guys & girls see you soon again.

Lovely food. Bengal Cuisine never tell you if the dish comes with rice even when you start adding rice to the order, same problem online so you end up paying for extra rice you didn’t need !

Only a small order but everything delivered hot and tasty.

Ordered on the 14/04/2019. We were repeatedly told that the food would just be another 20 minutes, for about 2 1/2 hours, the restaurant then calle us to say it would be 10 minutes and we would get a discount, we waited till 10pm (3 hours) and got the fish fingers out the fridge. Our order never turned up . Bengal cuisine you are a disgrace, dont take orders if you cant fulfil them !!’ Wont order there again 😡😡

Food never turned up. Had to ask for a refund over two and a half hours after making the order.

Took hour and 20 minutes and Diet Coke and cheese naan weren’t there, food quality was average

Plain, no flavour. We had missing items as well which weren’t re delivered. We won’t use them again

This is the best I've had in Brighton. The flavours in the sauce are execellent and the chicken was nice and moist and full of flavour. Delivered on time and nice and hot.

Food was delivered earlier than quoted. The food itself was really good. My had the Chicken Bhuna and said that it was yummy. I had the Chicken Nagaria which was quite hot, but very delicious.

The food was well prepared, hot and tasty. It also arrived about 12 minutes before the ETA quoted when I made the order online which is really impressive when you consider that it is almost a 3 mile drive between the restaurant and my house. The delivery driver was nice and friendly too :)

The food was pretty decent, just a shame that it turned up 30 minutes late and I had to reheat it. I tried to call them 3 times to find out where it was but didn’t get an answer.

Lovely flavour. They did exchange a rice for naan bread as requested. I did ask not to have tomatoes in the curry & to fill the containers but the king prawn Pathia had tomatoes in it & was not full. Great flavour though, they just need to read all the notes.

Food was delicious, good value with great portion size and came quickly. No complaints!

Food was really nice, great flavours. Was later than had been stated on the confirmation by 5 minutes and wasn’t as hot as I might have liked, would guess it was on a round with other items and delivered near the end. But would order from here again :)

A non-vegetarian set was ordered. Starters were good but Chicken Tikka Masala was extremely sweet. The portion of lamb in Lamb Bhuna was small. A bit mean really. The potato side dish was delicious. Overall, it was okay.

Tasted good, however was luke warm and missed off my naan bread!!

not impressed with this place,curry came without any rice,food was cold,but that wasnt a problem,i warmed it up in the microwave,was charges £2 for delivery,not a problem with that,but they phoned me and said there would be an additional cost of £4,as they had to come a long way,i said i dont believe that i said last time i payed an extra £1-30,so i told them i didnt want it,in the end they settled for £2,so for delivery,i paid £4,never again will i use this place,give them 1-10.

I have ordered from here several times and have been really pleased in the past. It has been very authentic tasting food which is pretty had to come by. But this order was dreadful! A third of the Tarka daal was oil, too salty and garlic was burnt, went straight in the bin. The rest was either over cooked or bland. I’m really hoping it’s just a bad day or the chef has changed because the food has been great in the past

Bit of a mixed bag. Tarka Dhall one of the best we've had, onion bhajis nice but didn't need the addition of red pepper. Considering how close we live to the takeaway the food could have been hotter when delivered. I would order again but try different dishes to compare standard

food was nice, if a little mild and not really greasy as is often the way with Indian take away. inconvenient that it arrived 35 minutes earlier than the time the app advised us which was not so great. would definitely order food from here again though.

Not very well spiced, lacked seasoning and spice flavour. Pretty much only potato and tomato in vegetable curry. Bit disappointing but not a total disaster.

the food was unreal... best curry I've had in a long time! Even though I selected asap in the delivery time.. it said it was due in over an hours time at 9:15... i didn't get any update on delivery time, so popped out.. the food actually arrived within 20 mins. To much my surprise and actually inconvenience. many thanks

First order from Bengal Cuisine, and I'll definitely be ordering from there again! Their Zara tikka was delicious, as was their garlic chilli tikka masala. Really good value, and really great food.

Several times we have asked for the damask to be mild all the other curry's are all amazing but this ruins my partners meal every time he never eat's the curry and it's a waste a dansak is not supposed to be hot yet it gives him hiccups every time.

The chana masala is to die for!

Left the food for ten mins before dishing up and was still hot! Came to the door 5 mins early even though ten minutes were added the portions were huge and had food left over for lunch the next day! Defo be ordering again

Disappointed this time. Not much meat in the starters. Lamb chewy. I keep asking not to have tomatoes in Pathia but they seem to ignore it. Its a shame because I like this place. The curry's are good flavour & they are reasonably priced but may have to consider trying another restaurant.

Went here for the first time tonight. Chicken tandoori on the bone start off was really nice, my wife's chicken korma she said was very nice!. My chicken vindaloo was ridiculously hot to the point where it was painful to eat and could not taste anything other than chili so on that note I have had much better vindaloos also lacked in salt. Everything else was really nice Bombay potatoes naan breads was all really nice just a big Shame about the chicken vindaloo as I could not finish it all. Saying this I would order again from this place I just would not have the vindaloo. because the quality of the food was good.

Good quality ingredients. Nice flavours and we really enjoyed it. Will order again. Only one criticism - there was too much oil for my liking in the curry's which leaked out in the takeaway bag which was messy. Still enjoyed the food though.

Most awful curry we have had. Chicken was undercooked, poppadoms tasted like chemicals, masala sauce was lumpy and curdled. Whole meal was covered in grease. Also charging 85p for cans but when they arrived they are labelled and advertised at 65p. Requested refund, they declined so will be reporting.

Extremely tasty and fresh food. It arrived before the estimated delivery time and such good value for money with the 30% discount over £15 spent.... The paneer tikka starter was outstanding, and the curries were beautifully cooked.. We'll all definitely be ordering from there again.
