Popped in on the off chance and was able to sit in as it was quiet. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious, warm and came in good time. We had the set menu for 2 and were amazed how many dishes there were, couldn’t finish so they gave us some takeaway dishes and took it home. Definitely recommend

Normally 10/10 but the last few times has been not very good, last night forgot mango chutney and naan bread very hard and chewy, seekh kebab tasted very undercooked compared to every other time, and time before 49 mins late and only thing still hot was curry

Just a amazing delivery from this place.requested a note to make the food asian style.they followed our instructon. Delivery drive was very friendly and polite. We will definately order again. Highly reccomended

Always fresh and delicious food. We celebrated our daughter’s 2nd birthday here. 12 of us we all enjoyed our meal. Service was great. We found this place since we moved in Banbury 6 years ago, still this is our 1st choice for dine in or takeaway, good job guys.. keep it up

Worst Indian takeaway we've ever had, first and last time to order here, no flavour, dry and just all round terrible really, I could go on..I wish I took photos, now we're worrying about our bellies, shameful, quite offended you served us this slop. What a waste of money.

Ordered a selection of curries etc for takeout and while the server was really nice, the food was the worst Indian food we (five diners) have ever had, I'm afraid. Every dish seemed to have had a ton of sugar added to it, even the Vindaloo, and we all had grumbling tummies in the night. I hate to leave negative reviews but this was extraordinarily disappointing, and I hope this review helps this place to rethink the approach to adding sugar to everything.

This restaurant is an absolute gem! The food and service is second to none. Both my friends and I really enjoyed our meal. The service was impeccable and the staff were very attentive and accommodated any special requests we had. NO! NEVER EVER AGAIN! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! ordered garlic naan bread and butter chicken. Butter chicken was just really really disgusting. Very sweet taste with coconut pieces in it and big chicken pieces not cooked enough. Naan bread dry and burned! JUST EATS app is also horrible, don't use it! Very bad customer service!

Jool is the best indian in banbury by far and my favourite dining/take out restaurant to have a meal with friends. The staff are grate and friendly plus the food is absolutely beautiful.

Wouldn't order from here again. Please see the end of this description for the items ordered and their prices via JustEat. The Tikka Masala was nice and rich, this was one of, if the only, redeeming factor of the meal ordered. It should be mentioned that although the sauce was nice there were 7 medium sized chunks of chicken. The rice wasn't anything to write home about, merely rice with onions paired inside. The chutney sauces were half filled, full liquid and sour and the Naan was uncooked and doughy. The Naan was very disappointing, it was small and bad tasting. To wrap it all up the chips were hard and again not good tasting. There are other options in the area that provide a better meal for a similar price. Admittedly the delivery driver was really pleasant and the meal was delivered earlier than expected. Great service and fantastic food

Amazing and always worth a try. portion size is amazing for the price and the mains are equally as good. The drinks are fairly priced and taste lovely. The service we had was fabulous and caring, we will be returning soon

Once again we ventured here to eat after visiting the Mill Arts Centre, this time with my brother and his wife, who love Indian food. We were all absolutely delighted with our meal, and also the friendly and efficient service. We chose the set meal for 4, and were amazed at the variety and quality of the dishes that seemed to keep on arriving! There was a small mix up on the starter in terms of a missing item and an extra item … but speedily rectified with a smile and an apology. Overall a wonderful meal, and a ridiculously small bill to complete the satisfaction. We will return next time we are in the area for a show/gig. Thank you. (Although we would have preferred not to have the ‘Happy Birthday’ track on continuous play after the family party had finished …. we went to sleep with it ringing in our inner ears!)

We spent an early New Year here, meal at 6pm. Very friendly welcome, really lovely food and excellent wine. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and it made our New Year celebration very relaxed and with the added bonus of delicious food!

Not good Ordered a delivery via deliveroo. That part was good, swift, no hassle. The food itself, its hard to describe. Sauces very garish in colour, no authenticity to the taste, texture. The chicken was odd, slices of processed chicken perhaps? Definitely not chucks of chicken. I had the chicken molawa, it was tasty but didn't look appetising. My husband had chicken tikka, he couldn't eat much as it was very vinegary. I would not recommend.

Excellent dinner. We ordered a couple of dishes to take away and both were delicious. The naans are fluffy and really tasty. I definitely recommend. A shame so much plastic is used but the rest is fab.

We order a lot from Jool however it is normally done via Just Eat. The food has been always great and they are normally on time if not early with delivery. Today we ordered direct and our order is still not with us.. Phoned the restaurant twice and being told food is on the way…the guy is literally round the corner. With the restaurant literally 5 minutes up the road I don’t see why it is taking over 35 mins to get to us…! Would order through this place however not direct - takes triple the time and now I am almost certain if I even get my food tonight it will be cold after being driven around for 35+ mins! Not happy and tummy rumbling!

My husband and I came here as we was staying over in Bambury for the day. The onion bhajis were delicious but the chicken tikka was awful, so chewy and tough it didnt even taste like chicken , so no way was that chicken ! Nice restaurant nice staff but unfortunately for this reason i would not return !

Some of the best food and service you will find in the area. Regularly visit and get takeaway from Jool and am always highly satisfied. The team are great and always make it a great evening out. The food is absolutely fantastic - and the chefs are always happy to accommodate (e.g. making vegan versions of their dishes). Absolutely recommend anyone visit Jool for a great meal out.

Going to the UK, besides Fish & Chips, you must eat Indian Food.Generally (in my personal opinion) it cannot go wrong. The Standard is certainly within expectation. Would I revisit The Standard? Definitely! But, one word of advice, do make reservation days in advance. If not, unless you start your dinner at 5.30pm, you will not be able to get a space.

Wow! This place is a find. Went originally due to a Meerkat Meals deal but have since been back. Quick friendly service, delicious food and more of it than you can eat for a great price so I took some home. Would highly recommend and they do take-out. 👍🏻

Best place for authentic Indian food

We booked a reservation for 7pm on a Saturday however we didn’t need to book as the restaurant was very quiet. Normally this would lead us to think the food might be questionable. How far from the truth, the food was excellent from the mixed pickles and popadoms to the vindaloo and dry chicken tikka we ordered. I have been to numerous Indian restaurants and would definitely recommend this restaurant. One of the best for me. I should also say the staff were very attentive and looked after us very well. Well done.

Called in here as a group of six on a quiet Monday night. The restaurant was empty however the staff accommodated us and we were looked after. The food was tasty and reasonably priced and we didn’t feel rushed. Would recommend this restaurant.

We have not been customers of Jool until last night when we ordered a takeaway meal for five of us. It was hands down the best Indian food we had had in a very long time. Absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend and will definitely be my first choice next time we want to enjoy some top class Indian food.

I ordered the food from Jool on 18/03/2023. I wish to give you 5 stars, unfortunately 4 stars will be fair for this time. The food was really good and tasty, especially the Balti Chilli, I loved.....not I but we loved it so much. Balti chilli from Jool is a must to try if you guys love spicy food. Despite your food is so delicious, your delivery was a downside for me. My order was late for an hour. Hope when I order again, it'll deliver on time. Mixed starter, balti chilli and tandoori chicken are our favorites and a must try when order from Jool and plain naan was superb as well, loved the smoky smell from the naan. (Nanik Wahab)

We were only travelling through Banbury and were looking for a restaurant to celebrate my birthday. Looked at Google reviews for Jool and I'm pleased to say we were not disappointed. Excellent food and service that was reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.Hopefully will be able to return one day.

Jool is a jewel!...Went for my birthday and the food was delicious. Excellent service and great choice.....also reasonably priced. We are from out of town, and can be difficult when you've no one to ask!.....Read the reviews and took a chance. It did not disappoint!...Travelling on a boat on the canal and we could walk to the restaurant in 6 mins. Hope we can revisit one day.

Good quality food at a reasonable price. Dishes are sweeter than expected, would recommend going one hotter than usual here. Delivery on a Sunday night was 30mins though it stated 50mins, so don’t be put off by the delivery time.

Wow what can I say! There are not enough words to relay my opinions about this fab establishment. The waiter was fantastic very knowledgeable and helpful in our food choices and what a marvellous choice there was. We had a meal in another restaurant the night before in the same street and left hungry and disappointed, in jools we left full as whelks with a doggy bag as we could not eat it all the portions were a very satisfying size and the side dishes were very filling. Would definitely recommend jools to anyone living in or passing through Banbury to have this as their go to Asian food restaurant. As arnie says I will be back.

What a find this restaurant was. Have to say this was some of the best Indian food we’ve had. Great choice of dishes. We went for Onion Bhaji starter, South Indian Chilli Chicken and Chicken Shashlick Bhuna. Everything was cooked perfectly and the spicing was...

Had Biriyani and Tandoori Chicken. The food wasn't nice - taste wise and not authentic. Service was good.

Average food. Cheaper deal on Thursday but would rather it was more expensive and better quality. Decor could do with refresh. Decent enough service.

Had a mooch around the town and this place seemed the busiest which is usually a good sign. Service was good, chicken tikka jalfrezi was decent and overall can't complain.

Had a takeaway from Joel, food was very good and the portions were quite satisfying. The mixed starter had a good variation, shame the onion bhaji was a little wet by the time it arrived. The chicken saga was very good as well as the Keema naan.

I visited with friends last night for a birthday meal. We sat down around 7pm and our food didn’t get to the table until 8:45pm. They seemed to be prioritising the takeaway and online orders over people in the restaurant. The food is lovely but...

Another great meal here last night. Come here with old friends once every couple of months, always great food and great service. Great advice from the waiter if you're not sure what to have.

The food, hospitality and quality were amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for the guys working in here and never had anything bad. The portion sizes are huge and the meat and veg delicious. Great value too!

Although I went here with my partner a year ago, we are still haunted by this horrendous culinary experience and I can no longer avoid testifying on how bad the food was. To give you the details, we were first served popodoms with chutneys- one was of a very un-natural green colour and tasted foul. We moved onto the starters which were various types of meat kebabs but again the red colour was very bright and artificial looking and tasted of poor quality. The mains were the worst part of the meal and unedible- we ordered Mango chicken and prawn tikka masalsa curry. What was shocking was that we found an insect (looked like a booklice) in the sickly sweet mango chicken sauce and the chicken was of very poor quality. The other curry did not have real prawns and the curry overall was bland and tasteless. Needless to say, we went home on an empty stomach because the food was awful and disgusting! Then lets talk about the service. Although the waiter seemed friendly, he kept talking to us during the entire meal, interrupting our conversations and asking very personal questions. What should have been a romantic evening ended being an awkward moment. Finally I should add that later on in the evening, we could hear the waiter arguing with other staff in the kitchen and shouting, which was very unpleasant. Added to the appaling food quality, this made us feel like our worst restaurant experience ever. After this experience we were so shocked and felt so intimidated by the waiter shouting that we wanted to leave immediately. Overall, I think this place should be shut down for hygiene issues. Avoid!!!

Excellent food and fantastic customer service! Chef and waiter were also happy to create a bespoke dish on request! I've had takeaway countless times from Jool and would recommend eating in or takeaway to anyone.
