The best restaurants serving Indian food in East of England

Pretty much two hours for delivery and wasn’t informed until we had to chase twice. Usually really good there but definitely puts me off.

Excellent authentic food and good value for money. I have been here many times and it is great every time.

Went for a Friday evening was good they have two services 6pm and 8.30pm went for the 8.30pm. Service was good. I think the waiters can come across as a bit abrupt but they are friendly enough if you chat to them. Main thing is the food which was very nice and all brought out in good time. We were next to a large group of men celebrating a birthday so naturally they were fairly loud. But that's probably quite common with Friday night clientele. I would probably go elsewhere if I was looking for a more quiet meal or choose a different day. No probs for us though and we stayed chatting until we were the last ones there and didn't get asked to leave by the staff even though it was 11pm

The most delicious freshly prepared Punjabi food for those with a discerning palette. If you want basic run of the mill Indian go somewhere else. As locals and regular customers who has tasted Indian food for decades, we have made this restaurant our favourite regular place to go. Always served with grace and smiles by this hardworking team.

We eat as 2 couples on a Friday night. It wasn’t very busy but was quite noisy and it was difficult to hear what we were talking about sometimes. The food was good quality and very tasty. The staff were attentive and we didn’t feel pressured to order what we didn’t want. However, after the meal and after we had paid we noticed we had been charged for 2 beers rather than 1. The waiter and manager tried all ways to avoid giving a refund. Free drink next visit, a bottle to take away, another drink now, we don’t have any cash. The lowest point was to state that they would deduct the refund from the waiters wages. Eventually the manager cobbled together 5 £1 coins to give as a cash refund. We won’t be returning

Good food, well presented, but we did have an issue that the food was overcooked.

Omg. Omg. We had THE BEST meal here Saturday night. So much so we returned Sunday night aswell. Beautiful food. Loved it. Unfortunately I live in skegness so to far away for a delivery. When I'm back we will defo go back. The young men that serve in there are a asset. They worked so hard. It was packed out Saturday night.

Thank you to all the staff for making my big 70 celebration so special and making us all - even the 5 fidgety grandchildren - so very welcome

Update Christmas Eve 2024 Back in Swaffham visiting family. Went to one of our favourite restaurants anywhere to get a takeaway. Very, very busy given it was Christmas Eve, but no problem , order taken and the customary Cobra and red wine whilst waiting. A perfect Eve of Christmas. Long may this restaurant prosper. It most certainly deserves to!!!! Update March 2024. Back in Swaffham visiting family, back at Indian Summer for takeaway. Usual Cobra and red wine whilst waiting (part of the delight of the Indian Summer and our reason for not ordering online or by 'phone). The usual superb customer service and of course the superb food. Maybe we should convince them to open a "satellite restaurant" where we live in the far north of Scotland, we certainly need it. Would happily award more than 5 stars in all respects. Update August 2023. Back visiting family and a trip to get our favourite takeaway. As usual a glass of Cobra and a glass of red wine whilst waiting. The manager and his staff are superb and have first rate customer service skills. You are made to feel to be THE most important people in the restaurant. Excellent food, excellent service, very good pricing and generous portions make a meal from Indian Summer most desirable. No hesitation in recommending FIVE STARS in EVERY respect. See you next time we are down here. Update February 2023. Customary glass of Cobra and red wine whilst waiting. Excellent service and food. A great restaurant. Update June 2022. Back in the area - went for a take away. Order placed, shown to a table to enjoy a superb pint of Cobra and a glass (large) of red wine to await our order. Made to feel that we were the most important customers in the restaurant. FIVE STAR SERVICE and when we got back to our relatives a FIVE STAR range of Indian dishes. Absolutely wonderful 🙂, how I wish we had a restaurant of this quality where we live in the far north of Scotland. Original comment 2021. A wonderful evening enjoying the excellent food and excellent service. All in all, superb. Would definitely recommend. Will certainly be making another reservation when next in the area.

First time eating from here. I had a takeaway, madras, rice and a nan. Plus a side of Dhal. Throughly enjoyed it! Big servings so got some left for tomorrow. Oh and whatever that red sauce was I had with the poppadoms was out of this world.

This is the first bad review I've ever left because I felt the need to. I placed an order via JustEat. Estimated delivery time was 50 minutes. 50 minutes later, the app said by order had been delivered, but it hadn't. I waited in the street for a delivery driver and checked my phone for any messages or missed calls. Nothing. I called the restaurant directly and was immediately hung up on. Another hour later and still no food. I never received my order and received a refund from JustEat instead. Avoid ordering with them if you're using a food delivery service.

If I could give 0 starts I would!!! Was feeling a bit peckish and ordered a pizza and some sides and it’s way passed they’re arrival time so I tried to call them several times and it went straight to voicemail and I still haven’t received my food or a call or anything

Ordered two different types of curry and rice when they arrived at the table It looked the same only the flavour was different. Not the best Indian.
