The best restaurants serving Indian food in East of England

We've been using this restaurant for a long time now. Mainly for takeaways, and I have to say we have NEVER been disappointed. This food is out of this world !!! Always fresh, absolutely delicious , packed with flavour just divine. Honestly if you want consistently amazing food this is the place. Hats off to the chef's, this food is worth every penny. Thank you and stay amazing.

Both curries were very good and so were the sides dishes. A better selection of beers than most curry houses so we would return the next time we are in the area

Food is ok if you eat in but takeaway is poor. They offer takeaway kebab shop style food and it is very poor and greasy. Disappointed overall.

The food was tasty, and the service was very quick, which was great. However, I was a bit frustrated when the bill arrived without us even asking for it, and then the card machine was brought to us just two minutes later. I would have understood if the restaurant was busy or if there were people waiting for tables, but there was only one other table occupied at the time. It felt a bit rushed and left me with a poor impression, unfortunately. This experience has made me hesitant to return.

Placed online order , it was waiting for a while for the confirmation from the restaurant, so I thought I will call , no answer. Driven there and it's closed ! Luckily paid by PayPal so have my money back

Awful. Ordered at 18h54. Meal didn't arrive until 21h14. Called back multiple times to check. They kept hanging up on me when it became clear I wasn't happy. Food arrived cold and the curry was sub standard. The naan bread had a frozen edge. WTF? What has happened to Saffron lounge? Used to be a really decent curry house. Not so much now it seems. They better make improvements because let's face it, there's other curry houses in Southend that offer a much better service. I won't be going back to frequenting Saffron lounge.

The best indian /pakistani takeaway in Peterborough...try the Magaj it's delicious.

Sit in usually ok but last couple of takeaways crap no meat all sauce and onions like leftovers elevethough quick delivery and I only live round the cdontorner is not that don't know if got a new chef as used to be one of the nice ones

I use the Khaanl frequently. Unfortunately, this time the onion bahji were burnt and the sauce for the bhuna was watery.

Delivery was prompt and efficient — our order came right on time, and the driver was polite and courteous. Mi esposa y yo cenamos por primera vez en el Angel Spice hace más de un año, cuando encontramos que el servicio y la calidad de la comida eran de primera categoría. Pero durante las últimas tres visitas, aunque el servicio ha sido eficiente y atento, la calidad de la comida ha ido a la deriva hacia el sur, hasta un punto en el que creo que la visita de anoche será la última. Como digo, el servicio estuvo bien... pero lo que salió de la cocina fue, en general (y salvo el entrante) , soso y poco condimentado, poco condimentado y generalmente agobiante. Yo no llegaría a decir que todo era "pobre", pero ciertamente no había nada presentado para justificar una calificación "muy buena" - IMHO. Para ser brutalmente honesto, he probado comida más sabrosa de los enfriadores de comida de los supermercados locales. Creo que un grado de complacencia parece haber sido permitido colarse en la cocina desde la primera vez que visité - que es una gran lástima y demasiado común dentro del comercio de la hospitalidad. ¿Esperamos que esta reseña sirva de estímulo al chef para mejorar su juego en beneficio de los futuros comensales?
