Gandhi in Ipswich

If I could give 0 starts I would!!! Was feeling a bit peckish and ordered a pizza and some sides and it’s way passed they’re arrival time so I tried to call them several times and it went straight to voicemail and I still haven’t received my food or a call or anything

These guys are amazing . The loyalty points are a win for sure... also the food is cooked really well . Tasty and accompanied by a reasonable price domino's and pizza hut do not have an edge on these guys. Nice food and great service. Great delivery. Honest and great pizza!! Go have a try.. maybe a consideration having smaller portion availability too for smaller children who want a pizza but over whelmed by the size..

An hour and a half hour after it was due, it has been out for delivery for an hour yet is still not here. Yay for cold soggy pizza at 9pm. UPDATE: Food kept warm for delivery on a hot plate, melting the sauce pots all over the box and ruining the food, had food poisoning the next day after eating only 2 slices.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Ordered 2 pizza and chicken wings. Food turned up 2 hours late but they must of forgot to turn the oven on as when I got them all 3 items they were raw. These cowboys are going to get people poorly with food poisoning. Avoid at all costs.

We ordered 2 pizzas on thin crust.... the layer of cheese was thicker than the actual crust....and it was not nice at all.... most of those pizzas sadly landed in the bin....

Cannot recommend this place enough. Their pizza is 100x better than dominos and pizza hut and so much cheaper. We've ordered twice this week and both times the food has been superb. So Tasty. Also the 2 members of staff we have seen this week were both so lovely, smiley and friendly. Thank you Ghandi pizza :) 11/10

Nipped in today for my first time and was chuffed to bits to discover the triple bacon pizza! Top prices and even go up to 18" in size!!!

First order we had was missing items was told driver would redeliver but never arrived . Decided to give them another chance tonight and both pizzas were so undercooked the pizzas had collapsed the dough was so raw, wedges and curly fried could have still been frozen they were that cold and hard , didn't risk the chicken wings based on how poorly cooked the other food was. Avoid this place at all costs

Amazing pizzas Loved the cheese and garlic crust pizza. I tried the cheese and garlic vegetarian pizza which was just amazing at a very reasonable price. I got the 15 inch pizza for £12 which is far better from most places

Just had one of the best pizza's delivered from Ghandi pizza. It's not uncommon to find businesses having to compromise on ingredients to save a bit of cash during the cost of living crisis. No this company - my pizza was the tastiest, freshest, most succulent and over indulgent that I've had in a very long time. Well done Ghandi pizza, I'll be a customer of yours again and again and again, I'm sure.

I live in Colchester but work in Ipswich so don’t usually get food from the area. Had a pizza delivered to my work (StorageMart Ipswich) and it was one of the nicest pizzas I have ever had. Prices here are brilliant and the quality is perfect. Will use for lunch/dinner again.

We had pizza delivered from Uber Eats and this is honestly better than Dominoes 😍 Super great deals too! Highly recommend

the chicken tenders were good but the loaded wedges were undercooked and so were the curley fries and the mozzrela sticks were distcusting

I thought I'd give this a try after seeing a 50% off offer on Twitter. Had some cash in the kitty at work so ordered in for lunch. The food was absolutely beautiful! Piping hot, full of flavour, generous with the toppings. I will most certainly be ordering again, best pizza I've ever had and completely outdoes Domino's, Pizza Hit, Papa John's etc completely

Went for their grand opening. There must have been over a 100 people in the queue and eating outside. Great fresh dough and tasty sauce. 100% we will be back.

Came on the day of the soft launch (first customer!) and had a great pizza (pepperoni). Really rich and delicious base tomato sauce and a range of decent tasting dips. The staff were really friendly and the proprietor has years of experience making pizza. Will definitely return!

This is some of the tastiest Indian food I've had in a while and in Ipswich. Everything was fresh and beautifully prepared (I had take out). I'm stuffed and I have left overs. This was a good shout

Always have delicious food from the Gandhi, whether it's a takeaway or eat in. Although the prices have gone up (or they no longer offer the 20% takeaway discount) which is frustrating, it's worth it. The Butter Chicken is to die for. Service is always super friendly and they were great during lockdown. I always use the Gandhi as a bench mark for other Indian restaurants.

Great food and service. (Takeaway, not tried delivery). Been back several times. I always collect as not keen on my food being driven around the town as the drivers have to make multiple drops to make delivery cost affective. Deliveries in general equals cold food. But I haven't to add I have never had a delivery from these fine people so can't vouch for their delivery service.

Customer service is 10/10. I had a nut allergy query and had to call up. The person who picked up the phone was super attentive and didn't shake off our concern. Food is always at a very high standard. We've ordered from many Indian restaurants but none are as consistent as Gandhi. Very happy - must try!

Me and my sister have ordered deliveries from these guys multiple times and they're always amazing! My brother has a nut allergy and they're always so careful and accommodating. The food is always to a high quality standard and I've never had problems with taste. It is always delivered piping hot and the delivery guy is always so polite. I would highly recommend to anyone in Ipswich! Polite service and quality food guaranteed.

We ordered from Uber who were running a promotional offer, we thought we would try Gandhi. Food was absolutely amazing, delivered hot by a friendly man. We will definitely order again, will be our go to Indian for takeaway and hopefully when the doors open again in the restaurant we hope to visit.. AMAZING- HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

My wife and I ordered a takeaway, food delivered was still hot and brought within an hour of ordering, delivery guy was polite and friendly, we were very impressed with the quality and taste, absolutely enjoyed our meal at home, affordable and we will definitely use them again.

Visited last year on trip to ipswich and couldnt wait to go again.Just polished off another superb meal compliments to the chef!

Good little restaurant, went there with several work colleagues and while we may have been very loud as the drinks flowed and the conversation may have been choice, the staff were very polite and attentive, food was fantastic and prices are good. Well worth a visit and I whole heartedly reccomend this establishment.

Reasonably priced and reliably good. Our favorites are the Balti and Jalfrezi dishes.

First time in the Gandhi . very very busy but they found us a table . Food was excellent. Definitely be back . £63 for two off us . That’s with a couple beers and cokes .

If you ever dont know what your indian dish is, these guys have your back. I was told to eat an ansaria from their assessment of what i like, and its now my signature dish. Friendly and fantastic food. Cant recommend them enough!

The last time I ate here was 15 years ago. I tend to avoid curry houses because I am usually disappointed. Not this time! The first thing that struck me was the extensive menu and the reasonable prices. I had a chicken balti which was excellent with lots of spices and flavour. The nan bread was one of the best I have ever had - really light and fluffy and piping hot - straight out of the tandoor. I tried some other dishes and they were generally very good. The only dish that did concern me was the tandoori chicken. I tried a piece and picked it up with my fingers - the next day my fingers were still stained red from the red food dye! I am sure that can't be good. The service was good and I was impressed that a group of 12 of us were all served at the same time. I think this is an extremely good restaurant and is good value too.

Just the ambiance is good ! Menu is so messed up that it time to decide for vegetarian. Taste is kind of 'OK'. We ordered vegetable pakoda, onion bhaji, veg jalfriazi, veg bhuna, dal tadka, steamed rice and bread. I felt like starters and bread were frozen items.

Best Indian restaurant in Ipswich! I've been to Gandhi since about 2005, it never disappointed me. I went there again tonight (Wednesday evening) with my partner, we prebooked a table. We were 5 minutes late, the restaurant was busy when we got there, but the waiter led us to our table without problem. We ordered 2 starters, 2 mains, rice, nan bread & a side + beer. Reach course came at right timing, not too rushed, not too long waiting. The waiters were very polite, friendly, efficient, attentive & professional. Each course was cooked to perfection, my lamb & my partner's chicken were both tender, juicy & full of flavour. The curries were tasty, have the heat & kicks & not over-the-top spicy, the portions were generous (I finished half of my lamb dish), the price was very reasonable! We cannot fault it. If you like proper spicy Indian curry, this is the place to go. 👍👍👍

Great cheap and cheerful curry house!

The restaurant is clean and staff friendly. Service was efficient and the food was really good. Only negative point was they served my Ghandi Special curry with chopped salad garnish around and on the curry. My advice would be remove the salad as it did nothing for the dish. I will certainly use the restaurant again.

Best Indian restaurant in Ipswich.

I have visited Gandhi,s for a takeaway about a dozen times times now and eaten in once and i have had to put pen to paper to say how fantastic the food is. Im a really simple order, a curry and three chapati,s and you wouldnt believe how wrong some takeaways can get it. I have not had one bad experience here and the chicken tikka rogon last night was the highlight all credit to the chef and front of house staff ..Highly reccomend.

In Ipswich for 2 nights, we just found this place not far from our hotel. Usual choice of Indian dishes and prices are ok. However both dishes were tasteless: chicken had probably been boiled before being put in the curry, the rice was lukewarm and had no flavour, the lamb was dry. Staff did not seem to enjoy being here, one of them was eating behind the counter. Service was quick though and they try to be nice when paying with a warm towel and a chocolate. I’d rather have a good curry though. They did no ask how was the food or we had a good time. Last point, lemonade was cheap but you get a glass full of ice. Basic restaurant tricks to make money on cheap items. I don’t get the positive reviews and I don’t like writing negative reviews unless I feel like the owners don’t care about their business and customers.

Working in the area and asked for somewhere to get a curry. WOW! Best curry I've tasted for a long time! Will def be back next time I'm in the area.

Stumbled upon the restaurant and called in to see if they had any tables which they did. The place isn't very big and was very busy. It's also a takeaway so have people walking up the narrow aisle to collect their food. Ordered our food. Daughter and hubby had prawn Balti but it was so hot and spicy my daughter couldn't eat it. My hubby struggled too and he can eat anything. I had a chicken tikka masala which was nice. Ordered a garlic naan but struggled to find the garlic and was like a frisby..very thin. Poppadoms were nice tho. Cost a lot for what it was and felt disappointed overall. Staff didn't seem that welcoming. A smile is sometimes all it takes.

Walked in on the off chance of a table for 3 & we were in luck. Place is tiny. Ordered 2 prawn balti's and chicken tikka masala. The Baltic was too hot and spicy for my daughter to eat so she didn't have much which was a shame. Even my other arf struggled and he can eat anything. Not much atmosphere. It wasnt cheap either. Best part was the poppadoms.

I was on business in Ipswich and looking for a good take-away Curry. A Lamb curry, aloo-gobi and rice came in at £12. The meal was hot and spicy, the way I like my curry. Good value.

Taste is ok dont expect like in Indian food. You can try Zaika just few steps ahead from this place...

Had a good meal here. Wouldn't say it's the best Indian meal I've had but definitely not one of the worst. They were busy so unfortunately we were seated downstairs which is a bit claustrophobic (well was for me!) but that didn't take away from the good service & food we received.

Ate here tonight and we had a very unpleasant experience. This was mainly due to some of the waiters' rudeness and poor attitude. The food was mediocre, there was far too much veg in both our chicken main dishes. We will not be returning.

Ok place, good wasn't great nor poor. The cost was a little higher than similar restaurants I go to (and I do like my curry houses). Overall middling for me and there are better place to go in Ipswich. But in a pinch not bad.

Have been coming to this restaurant for years mostly for our regular Saturday night Takeaway. We have tried many other Indian Restaurants in Suffolk but Gandhi’s quality food attentive friendly Staff keep us coming back time & time again.

Meh. Average. No better. The kind of place that does their Jalfrezi with hardly any sauce. Price was OK, but it was nothing special. Bhaji's OK, but not amazing as someone else has said. Naan pretty good.

In my opinion, one of the best curries in Ipswich and reasonably priced. Attentive staff. All I would say is they could deal better with bigger groups. Some of our order was missed and our bill was incorrect. Having said that, we were a large group on a busy Friday and any problems were rectified by the helpful staff in a few mins - no complaints from us!
