Jorna Indian in Ipswich

Helpful staff on the phone when we placed an order and unexpectedly had guests. The staff allowed us to add to the order straight away and everything arrived perfect. The food was piping hot and the flavours just amazing. Really happy with the service, and meal.

Food was delicious as always, sorry for being abit cheeky to the delivery man. Will definitely order from here again, fast becoming a favourite!! Top quality Indian food, thank you!!

We tried this restaurant for the first time last week for a delivery. Ordered 2 Chicken Tikka Massala and a chicken dhansak. Food was delivered in a timely fashion and was piping hot. The main plus point was that the massalas were in a lovely thick sauce. We always find at other takeaways the sauce is watery but this was superb. It looks like we found our new "go to" Indian restaurant.

Pasanda was curdled with oil floating on top wasnt edible smelt of gone off milk , nans doughy , bhajis very spicy 1st and last time ordering from here !

Unfortunately the driver couldn't find address so called me then waited a further 10 mins meaning food was cold

Small restaurant, been there many times over the years but the main busy area is the takeaway. We’ve not had a takeaway from here before so thought we’d give it go and see the quality and service. To be honest , we’d been excellent with food and service . We’d definitely recommend them.

my chicken tikka balti was a greasy mess, the womans lamb kebab was awful, i dont understand what went wrong, we've ordered from here a few times and the foods been 5 star, not today, it all went in the bin, sorry royal jorna for the bad review, have you changed your chef, if so i would change again.

the boss rented out to private tenants...honestly there will be plenty of indian takeaways that will be suffocated by prices they charge due to issues in other countries..only the best will survive im afraid and thats the truth.

My go to restaurant, the food is always delicious, by far my favourite in Suffolk. The customer service is also amazing. Delivery is always early or on time.

Had ordered a starter which was forgotten, tried 3 times to phone the restaurant and couldn’t get through so just took the loss. This was a second chance I had given them after a poor experience earlier in the year. Very disappointed

First time ordering from Royal Jorna. 10mins late but well worth it & quite informed by text. Very tasty food apart from onion barges which were quite hard & a bit tasteless but the main meals - perfect!!!

Cold, chips barely cooked and the chicken I took one bite of and didn't trust it was cooked enough.

Not sure if it's me but not much flavour in today's curry. I used to go vindaloo but those days have gone so go for mild but the spice is missing Chilly curry just doesn't go well on a 300 mile motorcycle ride the next day

My friends and I had been on an 18 mile walk, which turned into about 20 after heading to Royal Jorna and back home again. The food was absolutely fabulous, along with the service. I wish I had known the name of the lovely man serving us, (just to add) he was so polite, happy and seemed very interested in our day. Can't wait to go back again 🤩😋

Food tasted good but the masala much box wasn’t worth the money in my opinion as the chips was soggy and the rice waterier but the tikka tasted good as did the starter but I wouldn’t order the much box again …. Delivery driver was friendly and arrived in good time

Not sure if changed hands but not as nice as it use to be . Haven't ordered for a long time and was so looking forward to it...... I had chicken madras sauce tasted watery and the chicken very dry and taste less.

I'm a bit funny when it comes to Indian food but honestly the meal I just had from here was absolute perfection !!

Our favourite Indian in town. We've used them for the last four years now. Have never had a single issue with anything. The food is really very good. We have vegetarian relatives who also highly rate their vegetarian curries when we've ordered for them.

Tonight was about the 20th time I have visited this restaurant and it will now be the last. Previously we have enjoyed good food and great customer service. The meal started off well with poppadoms and delicious starters and then it went downhill. There were 11 of us and all of our main meals were lukewarm or cold. Our food was reheated (in a microwave I believe) and brought back out to us. It was a tasty meal but blighted by the temperature of the curry. At the end of the meal little was done about the sub standard main meals that we all had but we eventually got some money taken off the bill. On leaving the restaurant we were told not to return or to order a takeaway as we wouldn't receive the food. I would not recommend this restaurant due to the poor customer service that we received.

I’ve have had many Indian takeaways in my time working away from home for the last 30 years so I am quite the connoisseur in curries! So tonight I ordered my go to, chicken Tikka Madras garlic rice and garlic Naan,it was delivered earlier than the estimated time, the Naan bread was like it just came out of the oven, the rice was light and fluffy and the Madras… was absolutely amazing 10/10.Will certainly recommend this place to my work colleagues.Also very reasonably priced. You won’t go wrong with this one!!

Just had a fabulous meal at the Royal Jorna. Brilliant host in Riyad. A very friendly young man. The food was amazing. King Prawn puri then fish karai, side of saag paneer and a peshwari nan. Faultless. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Ipswich 😊

Had a wonderful takeaway delivered to my house. It was for my family. I use Royal Jorna every week for my takeaway. When I go out to dine......Royal Jorna is the place I go to.. Their staff is very friendly and we get service with a smile every time. Food and service is top class. Their Weekly meal deal for dine in is very good, lots of choices and value for money. They now do a Thali combined of variety of dishes in one, it's like a platter. I have been using Royal Jorna for long time, they never disappointed me. I would always recommend this place to anyone for takeaway or to dine in. Dont take my word for it give it a try. THANK YOU ROYAL JORNA, KEEP IT UP....

Absolutely disgusting spent £50 just for it to end up in the bin the chicken tikka had little flavour just tasted like a bit of plain chicken done on a bbq i had a madras and still very flavourless same with my misses korma as a regular Indian eater I was disgusting and disappointed with the level of Quality for the value won't use again and suggest nobody else does

Absolutely excellent food and service, I love Currys and try as many Indian restaurants as I can, this is the best I've found in all of Ipswich. Highly recommended. Thank you for so many lovely meals and more to come!

Had a takeaway tonight. Had never tried here but will definitely use again. Reasonably priced, prompt delivery from a very friendly gentleman and the food was very tasty. Both now suitably stuffed and happy. Top work guys.

Fantastic food, fast service, always friendly too

Ordered from here for the first time. It was really nice however we ordered a special which was ment to have chicken, lamb , and prawn. There was no prawn and only one cube of lamb, the rest was chicken. But it was really nice other wise.

I give these people a 10 out of 5. Firstly, as I have been here a few times the staff get to recognise you, very friendly and chatty. A nice touch to be noticed for repeat custom. Secondly is the food. Hands down the best Indian food I have had. Consistently very high quality. Great level of meat in the dishes. Beautiful rich tasty sauce. The Sag Aloo is outstanding, cooked perfectly. Special mention to the Naan bread, it is so good, a perfect meal on it's so with a little of their pickle. I get very excited ordering their food. Might have to go back now.....

We've been ordering, delivered, curry from the Royal Jorna for longer than I can remember and it was exceptional the first time and only seems to get better each time. Fantastic delivery service, superb staff and sublime food....if you want a fantastic meal in Ipswich, look no further, these guys are the best. Whilst I would love to find a small fault, if only to mix it up a bit, I can honestly say I have nothing negative to say....just superb on every respect.

Excellent Indian. I used to use another restaurant in the area, but I decided to give them a go one day and have not looked back since. They have amazingly affordable prices and the food is, honestly, some of the best Indian food I've ever had. Their Aloo Paneer and King Prawn Butterfly are must tries (it goes with out saying the classics like Korma and Masala are good too, but I thought i'd recommend something a bit more off the beaten path!). In addition to not only providing excellent food, their delivery time is top notch - it's the only place that hasn't struggled to find me and also the only place that has actually gotten the food to me EARLY and not late! Finally, I'd love to add that your delivery guy is always super polite and lovely, keep up the good work I intend to continue my patronage in the future.

This was my first takeout since lockdown, and my second delivery from the Royal Jorna. It was so good the first time I phoned back after eating to say how lovely it was and how much I appreciated the recommendations. I always worry that good takeout is a fluke, but last night's was just as amazing. Friendly service on the phone as well as delivery person. Great value. But the best thing I can say about the Royal Jorna is that every dish tastes uniquely different. The issues I've had in the past regarding other take puts is each dish isn't distinctive enough. The dishes all seem to blend into one. That is not the case here. I highly recommend.

Very disappointing, have been visiting for many years. Ordered takeaway from the menu, arrived without rice when sating included in all chefs specials. Told delivery would be 1 our 20 minutes, 2 hours it finally arrived. Food very nice but unhelpful service. will go elsewhere.

My title says it all , since the change in Management the food went downhill the lamb is chewy the curries tasteless And they dont even bother offering a free papadom!! Il spend my money somewhere else was horrible watery and tasteless.

This was a "Not on the menu" Traditional food evening, and it was absolutely amazing. Everything we were served was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. We could have top ups if we ran out of anything, although there was enough. I had given up meat for lent and had not given notice but had a huge selection of food. The meat eaters with me loved their dishes. It was a banquet and you really need to try this once a month event. For £20 each it was really good value for what you got. As for the staff, they were so welcoming and attentive, it felt like you were a guest of honour at a family meal. We will definitely be back. The restaurant is small but the place was full with a lively atmosphere. Highly recommended *****

New menu, lots of choices, decor is top class, small restaurant but very clean and excellent atmosphere. NOW THEY HAVE HAVE RE STARTED THEIR FRIDAY BUFFET, really good value, only £12.95 eat as much as you like. Deliver to Holbrook, Shotley, Chelmondisten. Please try....you wont be disappointed...
