India Gate in Ipswich

Very tastie but cold as in heat, also my onion bargi were like warm . I don’t know how long it was standing before I received it

Great tasting Madras and freshly made pilau rice.

We ordered our food online as we have done on numerous occasions. It arrived on time. As we started to serve up our food we realised it was cold. We called the restaurant to inform them. Only to be called a liar, they asked for the food back & then hung up. Phone call number 2 we had the same response only after I asked if we could have fresh food they replied no so I then asked for a refund to which I was also told no & called a lair again. I then took the food back to the takeaway in the containers it was served in (ok it wasn't all separate & neat but it had been half served up ). But it was cold so they would of discarded it anyway. He then called me a lair again infront of other customers, & once again refused to replace my food or give me a refund..... Needless to say we will not be ordering from there again. Very dissapointed as its been our go to Indian takeaway for some years. But not anymore

We used the take away delivery service. First they delivered us food that was stone cold. We rang to inform them and the manager hung up on my wife. Then, when we took it back to the restaurant expecting either a refund, a fresh hot replacement of the food - or both. The manager proceeded to tell my wife that she is a liar, that the food was not cold and that we would not be getting a refund OR replacement food. Even had the cheek to have a go at her because the food wasn't neatly packed back up - as if they planned to reuse it! Then the manager made her leave empty handed in front of stunned people who were waiting for their food. Customer service = non existent. Food quality = inedible. Worst takeaway I have ever used. Utterly disgusted!!

Ready spot on time for collection and good quality food. Panir Gobi could have done with more panir, but overall, we really enjoyed the meal and will definitely order from here again.

Excellent, only place I could find that had a paneer pasanda on the menu for my daughter. As it was the other side of town I expected to wait a bit longer, but food arrived earlier than expected, it was hot and delicious, highly recommend thanks

I have visited Ipswich many times and have eaten in the restaurant many times and had takeout meals also on many occasions. The food is to a very high standard and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. I have never had anything but a great experience at the India Gate. I would highly recommend this business to all. 5 Star +

Both meals had no flavour, and the chicken was dry and tasted funky. After have such great curries from heat before this time I was really put off

The portion size of the "mushroom fried rice" was very poor and dissatisfied. The restaurant this as a main portion but it was a size of a side dish.

1 main short but after ringing they swiftly corrected the mistake and had it here in less than 10 minutes. great customer service 👍

Done a online order for the first time at Indian gate...Arrived in a good time. Food wasn't very hot on arrival, food was very bland & dry. Very over priced. Wont be going there again. And they forgot my drink i ordered!!!

Avoid, ordered chicken korma and mixed dhansack with keema Nan, korma was dreadful, tasteless had the consistency of wallpaper paste and the naan had 2 small pieces of meat and disintegrated when picked up. Dhansak was basic and the chilli was overdone. I rang to complain about my experience and the person I spoke too was combative and not interested in the quality problems. Order at your peril

Food was piping hot and very tasty. My children and I loved our takeaway from here. We will be ordering again for sure . Thank you for the mint sauce too we devour every pot you send with the poppadoms 😀

We'd been looking for a decent Indian takeaway/restaurant in Ipswich for a long time, we accidentally came across this takeaway/restaurant a couple of nights ago and so last night we ordered our first takeaway Indian meal from India Gate, Pinewood Ipswich and I have to say it was an excellent meal, I for one will definitely be ordering from India Gate again. The Chicken Tikka was amazing Highly recommended 👌🏼

Chips were cold. Curry luke warm. Onion badji dry and cold. Not packaged well An Nan bread also dry Not great

We had the vegan korma which was the worst one I have ever had. Food was bland and tasteless so couldn’t eat it.

I order from India gate often. I really like their food but they've changed recently. Last week my order was almost tasteless with prawns hard as nails. Inedible. Tonight's order had the flavour back but was delivered 50 minutes after their estimated delivery time. They are usually early. I called the restaurant and asked them to cancel the order (they didn't) and had the phone put down on me. The food arrived and most of it was cool. The naan was stone cold.

Meal was not the same recipe as usual and below standard

having waited over an hour and 2 phone calls when I was told the food was on its way I then had to go and collect it myself!!! on getting my food home 4 popperdoms were missing from the order which I had paid for. I had also paid for delivery and collected it myself😂😂😂😂. overall I was disgusted with how my order was handled and although I couldn't fault the quality of the food the overall experience has left a sour taste and as a result I will not be using your takeaway again.

I have ordered here since day one well over 20 years ago. My partner attempted to use a 25% off code last week didn’t work let it go. Raised concern tonight got told to try again I did, guess what? Didn’t work. Spoke to proprietor again got a receipt where it did from someone else put under my nose. Guess what I will not be back, I would rather pay more somewhere else

Use to get here every week for years, they always have a problem with bits left out! Like last night no onion bhajis, phone then and they were sent out.they were soft balls of don’t know what as for the main I get the same every week! I haven’t had any from November but what a difference now it was RUBISH!! Totally different taste and look different colour just loads of red chill power!! and what lamb was in it was best described as scraps!! That’s it for me! I wouldn’t order here again I used to put up with bit missing as the food was good, I always defend them when someone said it went down hill not anymore it’s went to far down hill and the prices have went way up!!

3rd time now we've had small items missing. 1x Mint sauce 1x Naan bread Food quality absolutely fine but missing side items does spoil the experience.

Ordered my food via the restaurant website. Due to staying at a hotel, I telephoned the restaurant straight away, to confirm they knew of my location. The restaurant confirmed my address, and said the food would be delivered to my hotel in less than 45 minutes. One hour later, I still hadn’t received my order. I telephoned the restaurant and the gentleman on the other end said that the driver was on his way to me. Another hour passed, and still my food hadn’t arrived. Just over two hours after I’d initially ordered my food, it finally arrived. The food was cold. The chips were limp/soggy. The burger was dry. I telephoned the restaurant and explained that I couldn’t eat the food they had delivered, and that I wanted a refund. I offered for the restaurant to come back out and to collect the food, should they wish. The restaurant manager mustered up numerous excuses as to why the food arrived looking as it did. I wasn’t backing down on the refund request, and so he started becoming verbally aggressive towards me. He eventually put the phone down, having reused to refund me, despite admitting that the chips were in fact soggy (his reason for this, being that you won’t get crispy chips if they are placed into a delivery box). A few minutes later, I called the restaurant back, to ask why we had got cut off. Again, the manager stated that he wasn’t going to refund me, and then he terminated the call. The food ended up in the bin, and due to how long the order had taken to reach me, it was by this point too late to order something from somewhere else. Avoid this establishment!!!!

Estimated delivery time was 35-55 minutes our order arrived after 90 minutes nearly 3 times the wait.

Never answered the phone to explain where the order was which was ordered two hours in advance

Order came a whole hour early and was told to leave it in the oven on warm, as we was still putting babies to bed! The tikka chicken starter was like hard black charcoal very hard and burnt. The butter chicken didnt seem to be butter chicken. And we ordered a chicken bhuna which my husband counted 6 bits of chicken in! Worst takeaway ever ordered and to come a whole hour early is crazy!!

The most expensive but bland food I’ve ever had. Over £30 and the madras was cold, watery and flavourless. Onion bahjis tasted like shop bought and nothing tasted fresh. Naan was definitely old! Cold dry and bland food. Save your money

Ordered delivery, turned up an hour and a half late, we called when it was 30 minutes late and was told he left 10 minutes ago 30 minutes later we called again but was met with extreme rudeness and they put the phone down on us. Very poor!! Will not be using this restaurant again and will be blacklisting this in the village.
