Eastern Spice in Ipswich

First time ordering from here. Food lovely and hot. Would definitely order again.

Most of the food was pretty average, but the garlic naan was amazing and the lamb very tender. Meat dishes might be a better choice here. I was happy with how long the delivery took.

Curry tasteless … th egg fried rice was very greesey. …portion size good ..food was cold xx had to reheat xx

Ordered meals was a good delivery time. The Currys themselves was basically base gravy. It sucks when a dhansak is less spicy than a piece of tikka chicken from my son's tikka masala! A Balti with only only piece of bell pepper 1cmx1cm! That ain't Balti! Dhansak had lentils but was less spicy than the base they started with, how is this possible dhansak is on their hot menu!!! I used to rave about eastern spice, now I feel I'm mourning a good friend such a shame.

I haven't ordered here for almost 2 years and now I remember why. This was my mother's day treat and my husband ordered it.all The Currys were watery, the dansak was bland, all the Currys were 8 pieces of chicken and barely any veg. The pilau rice was plain boiled rice with 10% pilau the only good thing was the onion Baji and the food was luke warm even though we tracked the delivery and that only took 10 minutes. very disappointed.

the food was really nice and all enjoyed it and the food was delivered very quickly which was about 30 minutes before the estimated delivery time which was very good as we could eat and get our food quicker than we were originally told.

Food no taste very little spice. After 100 metre walk home, had to reheat cold food in microwave. I will never use again I would rather fo hungry

Kept getting texts saying it’s been delayed now it’s says it’s been delivered but it hasn’t even turnt up and it’s been 2 hours since I placed the order

order did not arrived i wont be using just eat again this the third time no delievery not funny any more

Am usually really impressed with the food but I was really disappointed today

Rice was stone cold, the currys had vert little sauce and what sauce they did have where lile jelly it was so thick.

The main dishes were squashed and sauce was in the bag, poppadoms crushed, nan undercooked and all food was luke warm at best. Won't use again.

the rice was very wet and the Curry was meant to be a hot curry, but it was not at all.

We used to love this place, but tbh it got rather expensive compared to some other excellent takeaways in the area. So when they started limited promotions I was delighted to be able to go back. But tbh I'm suspicious of the promos. The first time I got my 10% off only to find they added it back again at the checkout for delivery and service charges! Today I responded to a Black Friday 30% off Email, if I spent £15. I spent ages ordering through a fairly clunky website to order £36 of food - only to find it would not accept the code unless I spent another £5! Sod that. It's a real waste of time, and it happens all to often for me to think it is ALWAYS an accident. I'm not bothering to contact trading standards, but you should be aware that what they offer is not necessarily what you expect. I've finally given up with them now, & found an alternative 5* restaurant.

The meal was cold and tasted off

All the food was cold. The lamb bhuna was so dry, it has barely any sauce with it which made the lamb dry and tough, the lack of sauce also intensified what is normally a medium spice to what I’d say a spicy curry. The chicken in the passanda was also really dry and cold. Really disappointed, I’ve ordered from Eastern Spice many times and had excellent quality so I am aware of the standard these dishes should be. Unfortunately I won’t be ordering from here again, I’d appreciate if I could be compensated for the very poor meal.

Regular customer, and am usually happy, but every so often they'll forgot to give me my nan I pay for. Like with this order. I tried asking for a refund through justeat 10 days later still never received my money back from justeat for my nan. I'll call up to order next time and mention it, hopefully they'll honour their agreement to give me a free nan. Chicken charger tastes great.

Really enjoy the food from here, cooked well and arrives hot in good time. The vegetarian options are delicious and love that they use quorn in the tikka masala. Very filling food and portions are generous. Would recommend.

Great Indian take away in Ipswich, the best one actually. Nothing really compares, fresh, quality ingredients used, staff are very friendly, highly recommended! You need to try their onion bhajis!!

Nan bread at £3 20 was not worth it .took photos . More like a poppadum or kebab pitta bread .than thin and small . Madras .same flavour but chicken wasnt as nice as last few orders .as like most start off good and decline more you order .so trying signature next time ?

The pilau rice and curries were really fragrant and tasty! Unfortunately, the garlic nan was hard and thin, and the samosas were quite small for the price. They were nice, though.

More expensive than others . But so far really good rather pay more and have quality . Jalfrezi was like it used to be .si far no complaints well done on taking pride in your cooking skills

Food was delicious, very moreish. Not one fault found. All three naan's were exactly the same, no burnt bits on one. Very consistent. Meat was tender good amount too. Sauce was thick and wholesome. Based off tonight i have to give it honest 10/10.

Hands down is if not the best Indian restaurant/takeaway in Ipswich Suffolk mind you. Been coming since I was a little boy. Very respectful and always look after me! Boxes are always clean no spillage!! Amazing customer service and hospitality. Do I need to say anymore? Make your order now!!

It was delivered quickly, and was hot. But the food was bland and greasy. Very disappointing.

Exactly as earlier review: Food didn't turn up so I called the restaurant. They said driver tried to call and knocked at door but no answer so returned to restaurant. Neither of these things actually happened. They said if we wanted the food, we were now at the bottom of the delivery queue and they were busy so it would be a couple of hours. Said they would refund but that never happened either. I have been directed to some dodgy company in Jersey to try to get a refund. That company took 3 weeks to get back to me and now wants a load of info that I don't have. Worthy of a complaint to trading standards, if I could be bothered which I - like Eastern spice - cannot. I won't be ordering again.

Edit 12/05, having previously ordered regularly, was surprised to be quoted over £40 for dishes we've ordered before. Even ordering exactly the same menu was still £4-£5 more. Food is great but that's quite a big increase.

Shocking service over an hour late and after I asked the restaurant to text me via app nothing called to be told to the driver had left 10 minutes before then it was another 40 mins till food arrived from the same person I spoke to on the phone, missing items won’t be using again

Always good and hot and great service

Food is always delicious. For the last 3 deliveries the nan bread which accompanies the Dhansak has been missing. Means i always have to quickly defrost one to go with the meal. otherwise cant fault the food quality and everything else.

Dissappointed, tried this one because of the reviews but , 1, it was late, 2, it was okay but not brilliant and 3, it was expensive.

Very late beyond delivery time and no updates

All tastes great as always, but i ordered a balti (comes with nan) and 1 extra nan. However, I only received 1 nan in total, so I asked for the refund on the extra nan through just eat.
