Mr Korai - Indian Takeaway in Ipswich

We are always a bit dubious about ordering from somewhere new but this did not disappoint it was absolutely delicious. Food arrived hot and the chicken massala chips were so nice. The chicken and naan bread tasted so fresh and the onion bahjis were perfect, as often from other places they can be dry or very oily. So glad we took the chance and will definitely order again. On a side note the delivery driver was also really lovely.

Our first time ordering from Mr Kori, and we were treated to an amazing experience, collection was ready within the time frame which was great. We ordered a mixture of dishes and meal boxes, the food was fantastic with amazing flavours and it was pipping hot. Just what was needed on this cold Saturday evening. I look forward to ordering from Mr Kori again very soon.

Ordered a takeaway delivery for 8pm and it was on time, steaming hot and the food was exceptional! Deffo order from them again

The food is always delicious and freshly cooked. It always arrives promptly and is piping hot. When we had order issues tonight, we called up and they sorted it straight away, getting our food out to us promptly. Best Indian in Ipswich by far.

Exceptional, Popped in this evening after seeing them on Uber Eats, Staff are very friendly and welcoming, I ordered the Mega box and meaty Mega box.. The food was really good, I just looking for something different and they delivered with lots of flavour and good sized portions for what I paid. I'd like to thank them for the extras they put in the bag, was a nice touch 👍🏼 I'll definitely be returning, and definitely recommend to anyone. 👍🏼

Never did arrive the 2 times I tried. I highly recommend eastern spice 5 mins up the road. I've walked past and seen staff scratching their bits and generally looking dirty while working at the front of the shop, not very friendly towards the local community who walks past or live in the area. I also saw on Facebook they were advertising for staff and offering much less than minimum wage. I won't spend my money here.

Had our first takeaway from Mr Korai tonight and I have to say it was one of the best we have had anywhere in Ipswich. All the food was tasty and flavoursome and piping hot. Definitely our first choice takeaway from now on.

I have just used this take away for the first time. I asked if they could make something for me which I have thoroughly enjoyed from other Indian take aways. After thinking about it, they said they could. When I opened it at home, it definitely wasn't what I asked for, even though I checked a few times they knew what I meant. The portion size was quite poor. And not very warm, i don't know what they gave me, but it looked and tasted like something from a tin. (teach me using them mid-week). I have to give a one star for the service, even through the gentleman was very polite, he clearly had no idea the dish I asked for. Tasteless and not very nice! Sorry.

The first time we ordered we were quite happy so tried again today. The vegetable curry was so salty I could not eat it and I don’t mind a bit of salt! The biryani rice was a bit bland. The bread was amazing! Thats why I gave it 3 stars and My son enjoyed the rogan Josh. Shame as I don’t think I will order here again.

Amazing food. Everything was spot on. Got the set menu for 2 and it was great value and taste.

Despite responding to reviews from a year ago with “we will learn from this and do better”, it appears they have not. A special offer on, so we ordered 2.5hrs ago. “Delivery time - 60 minutes”. I’ve had to ring twice in that time and no one has had a clue. I am now going to pick up the food myself because they haven’t got enough drivers apparently. This is a total shambles, and a pity as the food was perfectly fine.

I’ve just recently moved to ipswich and couldn’t find any good indian takeaways about that could match my experience as to that in bangladesh until i noticed the reopening of Mr Korai on google, today i decided to give it a go. and i was amazed food was seasoned up to satisfaction had the correct level of spicy ness just like me mother made felt like being at home again. If you’re looking for a curry this should be your first stop absolutely amazing.

Tried this place for first time and was more than happy. Food was hot, tasty, and generous. Was not at all greasy, will be ordering from here as our go to Indian restaurant.

Great tasting food, good value for money.

I had used Mr Korai just after it opened and found it a bit disappointing. However I gave it a last chance saloon. I was glad I did so. The food was a little bit late but they were good enough to call me and the driver was very apologetic. The food was excellent and the only fault that I could find was the lack of tomato in the chicken Tikka starter was lacking. Apart from that everything was fine, would definitely use them again.

Brilliant clean food, not greasy. Pick up and delivery both easy and customer service is great. The lads in the kitchen and behind the counter are friendly and want to build their business. Show them some support. This is now my local choice for Indian food. 15% off if you collect too. What more could you ask for?

Ordered late on a Saturday night after watching the mighty Tractor Boys get promotion. Food was absolutely lovely, everything very fresh and tasted great. Delivery even quicker than advertised and driver was incredibly friendly. Our new favourite takeaway!

We do not have take aways very often but decided to try this round the corner as an alternative to the Indian restaurant we have used off and on for many years. My wife and I both thought the food was excellent and called to say so much. I hope people in east ipswich especially give this new takeaway a try and support a local business.

Lovely meal, just disappointing we had to wait 2 hours for food when we were told an hour! Seems organisation needs improving but can somewhat understand as it’s a new business.

Lovely food full of flavor but the wait time was nearly an hour & no chutneys with the popdoms.

Brilliant experience this evening! Amazing food,hubby's Jalfrezi-Paneer Tikka surpassed expectations,he usually has to ask for extra spice but he found this really good. My chicken shaslik was heavy on the chicken & low on added veg which was really good.I love veg cooked in a tandoor but I don't expect more veg than chicken.The veg rice was also great. We've already recommended Mr.Korai to our family & will definitely tell our friends.

I ordered on 50% night and yes it was busy so re-arranged my order for the Sunday. Upon collecting and dishing up our feast myself and two sons ate very well. We had lamb naga (hot!) and tandoori mix grill and other items (saag aloo , bhaji, naans etc). I was very happy with the food and both my sons agreed. I am marking 5 stars on the basis of the food and dismissing the hiccup of the first night on which they should not be judged. Will be back thanks!

Took far too long to arrive. I tried one of their specials, Showkoti chicken. It was meant to be garnished with methi and corriander - neither, it lacked any distinctive flavour. It was nicely presented however and quite substantial. Not too good for my first order with them.

Was so nice I went back the next day !! Everything was really fresh and tasty really enjoyed it and I’ve been to loads of Indian takeaways! Also got to meet the dad of the business and he was very caring and kind you can tell he’s passionate in what he do Will definitely be back.

Worst Indian Takaway I have ever purchased ! The Madras and Passanda were boxes of coloured slop with a few pieces of over cooked meat floating around. The Tandoori King Prawns were tough and dry with blackened edges. The rest of the meal just went into the bin. I am relieved that the opening day 50% off offer saved me from paying full price for this V.poor meal

Food was cold and not great to be honest.

Friendly and possibly doing their best with more demand than they can properly manage. Unfortunately the food was really disappointing. Having lived in central Asia for nearly 20 years, I expected more. The korai and jalfrezi tasted the same and were very bland, as was the bindhi, and the tikka masala tasted of sweet coconut. We couldn't really taste any ginger, garlic or spice flavours (only a little heat from a couple of chillis thrown in to our 'hot' curries but not cooked in), instead it was 5-6 pieces of pre-cooked meat with big chunks of onion and peppers thrown into generic, pureed sauces. The chapatis weren't fully cooked either, so we had to re-cook them at home. Sorry, but we won't be back.

Although opening night was incredibly busy (as expected given the 50% off offer and new business), we enjoyed the food and polite service. Had some interesting dishes we had not tasted anywhere before so that was a plus. Keep it up Mr Korai, we will be back for more!

It was a delightful meal and we will be back for more! Yes it was totally oversubscribed but that should have been expected with 50% off on the first night. Everyone kept their cool (a few customers didn't) however we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and we will be returning. Definitely 5☆☆☆☆☆'s

People complaining on these reviews but there’s bigger problems in the world. War, famine, Sam smith. The main thing is that my food was proper bussin, yes it took a little bit longer because of high demand but good things come to those who wait, just look at the scenario of a 23 year old supermodel marrying an 85 year old retired millionaire. 5 stars from me, no complaints

If an offer is too good to be true, it probably is! 50% off opening night totally over subscribed with people queuing 2+ hours to get their order. No apologies, no explanation, just refunds and offers to reschedule your order. What a shame…

Opening night & 50% off sounded great. How wrong! Had to wait hour & half to get food which was pre-ordered an hour in advance. People were queuing outside in the cold, some people had been waiting longer than 2 hours! The staff were saying it will be 15 minutes more, which turned into 30 minutes. There was no system & it seemed to be first come first served. Lots of cancelled orders & orders moved to another day. Its a real shame as the food was pretty good. More improvement needed Mr Korai

Very excited to have a new take away open in the area. Yes opening night was a little chaotic and perhaps they underestimated how many people would be there, but the food was worth waiting for. The dishes were cooked well and very tasty (recommend the malai chicken and paneer tikka) I would like to return when the opening-day rush has calmed and I encourage other people to do the same 😊

Without knowing the limits, they allowed everyone to book beyond what they could deliver in such a tiny kitchen they have. Definitely not a good start to their takeaway eatery. Heard people queued up for 2 hours and 3 hours . Hope the taste diminishes these anger amongst people for longer waits.

Based on the food only, I would give it 3.5 stars, but I am rounding it down to 3 because they forgot the poppadums - the most important part of the curry. Some tasty dishes which are different from standard curry houses, but some stuff was pretty boring. Having to wait an hour and a half in the cold after pre-ordering on opening night wasn't ideal. They took far too many orders and couldn't cope, so this will probably be their best review tonight.

A few teething problems well was opening night…great offer 50% off…the food was absolutely delicious…will be coming back for more…well done….
