Bekash Tandoori in Ipswich

We went for dinner and there was no Wifi. The service was poor and we were charged £7.50 for four Poppadoms and four small dips when it's less than £3 in other restaurants. There was only one other customer in the place and it was sad to overcharge us on the starters.

Food was cold and took ages to come. Meaty was chewy

Ordered a chicken shashlik and boiled rice from here a couple of weeks ago with my family ordering from here too. We ordered in the restaurant to take away but as it was an hours wait so we decided to have it delivered. The food was really nice and hot but would have preferred a bit more chicken on the chicken shashlik for the money. Plenty of parking outside to use to go in and order.

We ordered from here last Saturday inside the restaurant but as it was an hours wait they said they would deliver it as we didn’t want to be standing around. We didn’t have to wait too long for the order and was hot on delivery, the food was really nice. There was four of us that ordered from here and we all enjoyed it, I had the chicken Shashlik for the first time which I really enjoyed with boiled rice but would have preferred a bit more chicken for £10.95. As we all enjoyed it we will be back soon.

Ordered takeaway, have had takeaway a few times from this restaurant and been ok. This time ordered at 17.20 on a Monday night, after 2 phone calls and being told both times it was out for delivery, it finally turned up 1 hr 50 mins later. Only just warm but was so hungry by this time couldn’t be bothered to phone again and complain. On one of the phone calls was told they had been inundated with orders and walkins at 17.00 hrs so it was taking a bit longer! Really on a Monday night, expect this length of wait on a Friday/Saturday night but not on a Monday!!

Myself, partner and another couple (one of whom is wheelchair-bound) went to the Bekash for a meal last night for the first time at this particular Tandoori restaurant..what a little gem! Wheelchair-friendly, and spacious seating . Food took a little while to come out unsurprisingly as it was very fresh and we couldn't fault it at all as it was all delicious! Staff were attentive yet unimposing and gave us plenty of time to order in between courses. Another plus for us was that it was easily accessible with parking outside too Well done The Bekash..we will definitely be back.

A fantastic meal with beautiful flavours and as it’s wheelchair accessible it’s a big win. We were given all the time we needed and were at no time rushed. The bill was what we expected and not at all overpriced unlike other establishments. Keep up the good work lads!

Me and my colleague are staying in the area for work, and we went here last night. The food was spot on, really good quality for reasonable prices. The staff were also very friendly. Would 100% recommend trying it here and I will be back when I’m next in the area. We tried the Chilli & Honey Naan which was a chefs special for the day and it was superb👌

As a travelling worker, I visit many Indian restaurants around the country. This is a good one. Excellent tasty food, polite service and good value. Chicken tikka puri starter was hot and tasty. Everest chicken main was spiced up a little, as requested and had a wonderful fusion of flavours. Extremely tasty and a generous portion served hot. Unrushed between courses. Good service without being intrusive. Definitely recommend.

Never eaten in here, but had several takeaways from them. I am determined to find an affordable Indian takeaway in Ipswich that serves decent quality curry. This is not it. I had to add salt to the food I ordered to get any flavour in it. Adding salt to a takeaway should not be needed given how much is already in it. The satay chicken I ordered was just sweet, and there was granulated sugar in the bottom of the tub showing how poor their flavouring skills are.

Not been hear for a while , noticed on arrival that the staff were different, so I guessed they have got new owners. The food came out and the Bombay potatoes were cold , so they were sent bck , and the rest of the food was soon cold not long after we started to eat it. Never had this happen before, and I’ve been eating curries for a lot of years . So on this experience I would not recommend, in anyway shape or form. It will definitely ruin you’re meal . A lot of improvements to be maid. Even thou they said they would knock money off Nx time , really don’t cut it for giving you cold food .

Disappointed that the buffet has finished however we still had a decent meal and experience well looked after. Thanks guys 👌🏽

This restaurant is fantastic but I have stopped ordering because Just Eat are untrustworthy and your website ordering service says you cannot deliver to me even though you have done many times. You offered to take my order over the phone but could not give me the usual 20% discount. Now I have to settle for second best.

The indian from here was very good and far better than bramford and great blakenham. We would definitely recommend this indian

First time back here in several years. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and the customer service is second to none. Great variety on menu, with many dishes I had not seen before. Food was really lovely and the prices extremely reasonable. Will definitely return.

What a lovely evening. The food was delicious, the service was exceptional, we just couldn’t ask for more! Aasif was the perfect host. He is a credit to the restaurant. Great sense of humour and more than happy to confirm our concerns with dietary requirements. Our only concerns were that our laughter may have been a bit loud! I have been a customer of the Bekash for over 30 years and after this evening’s visit, there is no chance of that changing! Thanks for a great time.

It's been redecorated since last time we visited, and the menu has been refreshed. Staff were friendly and helpful and made me something off-menu even though the menu is very extensive. Really good and plentiful food and good value. I had better service here and a nicer experience overall than a place where I paid double.

I am a really fussy eater, I hold my hands up to that so I was really delighted to find that I loved my food from this restaurant, I ordered a takeaway and it was delicious. I am not a fan of super-hot food so opted for a mild peshwari curry which was divine. My garlic naan was fresh and fluffy, I really enjoyed my meal, I will be back for sure.

We visit once a month. It’s our favourite Indian in Ipswich. The food is perfect every time. Generous portions and the staff are lovely polite.

Staff were really helpful with one of us that doesn't like too much spice, recommended a dish that went down really well. Have also used them for take out too and food was just the same quality as eating in the restaurant.

Simply put this restaurant’s quality of food is unmatched. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for Indian cuisine. We happily will get a takeaway from here, even at though we live at the other end of town. Going in for a meal is always a wonderful experience.

Struggling with a dodgy tooth so I wasn’t in the mood for biting into poppadoms or ripping at a man bread, but the waiter persisted in trying to get me to order something additional the curry and rice which was all I wanted.

I’m surprised I’m only now writing a review! After 2 years of coming here regularly or getting a take away I have nothing but positive experiences coming here! I’m usually known for ordering the Keema curry which is amazing! However I’ve also had Korma, byrani, tikka, Jalfrezi, naans and they’re also great! Staff always nice! Recently the prices went up but that’s no problem! At the end of the meal the ladies get a rose! So kind! The restaurant design is a bit outdated and dark which would be nice to see it refurbished however, that’s not really an issue because the restaurant is always clean and the food is great Thank you Bekash.

Das Bekash befindet sich am Rande von Ipswich und vor allem bei der Fussballmannschaft vom Ipswicher Club sehr beliebt, viele signierte Trikots und Fotos beweisen. Ansonsten ist die Innenausstattung abgesehen von dem sehr schönen Aquarium eher langweilig. Das Gleiche kann man vom Essen nicht behaupten. Die Auswahl ist gut und umfangreich und die Speisen sind rund gewürzt und das Schöne ist, wenn scharf daneben steht auf der Karte, dann ist das auch so. Das Restaurant ist wahrscheinlich deswegen sehr beliebt vor allem bei Take Away Kunden. Dauernd werden Pakete und Päckchen abgeholt und ausgeliefert. Dies verzögert die Essenszubereitung im Lokal so sehr, dass man sehr lange warten muss. Wenn dann der lustige Ober auch die Getränke und andere Teile der Bestellung vergisst, kann der Aufenthalt echt lange dauern. Wieder ein Fall, der beweist, dass ein gutes Restaurant durch schlechten Service verschlechtert wird.

Food was really tasty and still hot when it arrived, the service we received from the delivery man was exceptional, he got slightly lost but food was still early and he was very apologetic and friendly. Will definitely be ordering again thanks to this kind member of staff!

Have only used as s Takeaway but the quality of the food doesn't encourage a visit to eat in. A simple chucked Passanda was watery and tasted mainly of coconut with very little chicken. Sorry not a good meal at all.
