My wife and myself have just had lovely Indian meals My wife and myself we're welcomed by miz and Naz . We had 2 meat platter's excellent. Main meals of chicken Tikka jalfrezi plus mushroom Rice. Plus mushroom bhajee and garlic naan. Glass of white wine . excellent meals we Will go back to the restaurant soon . thankyou to All the team. Fluffy Essex.

We had another fantastic evening at the spice lounge restaurant . We arrived and was welcomed by washam excellent waiter and the owner of the spice lounge.Naz I am disabled and nothing is to much trouble for the team the restaurant is always clean and always plays Indian music and the music is so relaxing. We had another fantastic meal chicken Tikka starters The presentation is excellent the chicken is always tender. We then had the Best chicken Tikka bhunas. We have been using Indian restaurants for over 40 year's and this meal was one of the best. Pilau Rice was so fresh garlic naan bread and mushroom bhajee excellent. The whole evening was excellent as usual the team make you feel so special . The restaurant is so lovely excellent food excellent team We would like to say thankyou to the chef we recommend the restaurant. fluffy Essex.

My wife and I have recommended the spice lounge restaurant by friends . Yes and we found the spice lounge restaurant excellent The food was fantastic we both had chicken Tikka starters excellent. Then for our mains we both had chicken Tikka dupiza. Mushroom rice All very tasty and well presented The team in the restaurant we're all great.i am disabled and nothing was to much trouble for Ali and the team Excellent Indian food excellent service excellent price 50% off £ 27 pounds only this includes a Glass of wine. Absolutely disgraceful customer service. To answer the phone and just say “what” and be rude and abrupt. Left me waiting on the phone for over six minutes while pfaffing about in the background is unacceptable as I only wanted to book a table. And takeaways have taken two hours for delivery before. Needless to say I have booked somewhere else for Saturday night !!! fuming !!!!! Rude !!!!!

Was driving through canvey on our way back to Hampshire after spending a day in Southend. Nearly drove past but saw the signs in the window for 50% off so decided to give it a try and it was also boasting a 5 hygiene rating. I ordered a starter of prawn puree whist my wife had lamb tikka. My main was a lamb madras & wife lamb bhuna, also one portion of chips and a garlic naan, two small orange juice . We had to ask 3 times for poppadoms. The food was very meagre and rather bland and the menus were sticky and rather disgusting, the waiters didn't seem to want to be there! On a note of my prawn puree, I always have this as a starter and have eaten these in many many Indian restaurants across the UK. Never ever have I had it served this way! A dry crisp pancake with the few prawns not inside the pancake but placed separately at the side. Now for the reason of my review, when it was time to pay the waiter didn't bring the bill but instead asked us to go to the counter where he proceeded to tap figures into the calculator, then he told us that will be £35. we never saw the bill and as we were tired with a 90mile journey still in front of us we just paid and left for home. It was only the next day when my wife mentioned the price that we realised we had been ripped of big time. £35 half price!!! I don't think so!

Delicious, flavourful, amazing and authentic food. Definitely worth trying and you won’t be disappointed.

Visited the restaurant tonight for mine and my twins 22nd birthday staff catered for a needs requiring 2 separate tables and made us feel very welcome and at ease. Drinks order taken quickly and through out the meal the waiters was checking if everything was ok and if we needed anything at all food was delightful could of done with more meat but was plenty there and we all left full and satisfied would defiantly be back and recommend to family and friends. Thank you guys for making our night special!!

Went to this restaurant on a Sunday night, lovely food and staff. Would definitely recommend,even during a pandemic there still keeping there customers happy lovely to see.

Well where do I begin only been here a few times with me parents. Wat a fantastic night never disappointed tried a full dishes they are fantastic. We were 3 people and went for the half price food offer, the restaurant was reasonably busy , and we had booked, the service was good, not overly friendly but ok, the menu is good and and the prices reflect the half price offer, so most mains are £6, which was good, the food was good and freshly cooked , the Tandoori was a little over cooked but ok, overall it was a good meal and service

The food was amazing, particularly the chicken chat puree and the staff were very attentive and welcoming. 50% off our midweek meal was a bonus too. Would highly recommend!!

Really enjoyable family birthday meal. The restaurant was very clean we felt safe. Waiter service was really good Ali our waiter was very polite making sure we had everything we needed. The food was excellent.

What a lovely night, this is our local Indian we are regular customers going once or sometimes twice weekly, we are never disappointed the food is outstanding and we are always pleased with everything we have, the staff are excellent and always make you feel so safe and welcome, and nothing is too much trouble. I only eat mild dishes and do not like to try anything new( unlike my other half) but tonight I was recommended a dish to try by the new waiter but didn’t trust him so got a second a opinion from Ali the new restaurant supervisor and was not disappointed the dish was absolutely lovely so thank you to them both, didn’t see much of Miz tonight as he has been demoted to pot washer 😂 , This is an outstanding restaurant and so pleased it is on our doorstep, Well done everyone keep up the good work 😘

Visited last weekend with my husband who also wrote a honest review.Please everyone be aware - they have re printed new menus that cross off the so called old price (chicken madras etc for £10?? Seriously?) to discount 50%! Don’t even get me started on the portions. This is not the way to do it. Pandemic or not - don’t cheat your customers! They are not stupid! All it does is leaving bad experience and customers not wanting to return.I was the one ordered the cider and was told it wasn’t available but they did have another one. NO mention of a different price and to be told to my husband on the response to his review that I was told twice about the price? That just makes me angry as you basically call me a liar. Also if the price you mentioned twice to me - how come you took it off our receipt then? Told all our family and friends about the experience and trust us, nobody would come to your restaurant. Be honest and you will always have happy returning customers!!

We received a promotional leaflet through our door in Hadleigh advertising 50% off all food so thought we would give this a try. We have been here once before but that was probably 8 or 9 years ago but not been since. The 50% off food offer seems like a good incentive to try it again.Anyway, we walked in, they ask you to complete a contact form for COVID-19. That's fine except the waiter literally took the phone from my hands to scan their QR code, when really, as someone who has worked in IT for 25 years, it's not really something I need help with.We were shown to our table and presented with the food menu. To my surprise, this was a newly printed 50% off food menu. So, it seems all mainline, traditional type curries, your madras, vindaloo, korma etc were £10 now £5. Things like Korai and other non standard curries, £12 now £6. Now, bear in mind this is Canvey Island, not Covent Garden, I do find it slightly surprising that a curry could cost between £10-12 normally?Surely, if this was really 50% off, they would just show their normal menu and most people are not stupid and can work out what a 50% discount is?This whole thing just seemed like they were trying the oldest trick in the book. We were about to walk out seeing this new '50% off menu' but decided to stay purely because we were just so hungry and couldn't be bothered to go find somewhere else.The drinks seemed normal or an acceptable price. Only issue was that the cider my wife ordered was not available however they did have an alternative they could offer (but neglected to make it clear this was £4.50 instead of £2.75, if I recall exactly).My starter was a green chicken tikka which was delicious. However, it was literally 4 cubes of chicken about 1.5cm square, a tiny, tiny portion.The main courses, £5 and £6 I think for a Korma and Korai,. we felt the chicken was a bit dry and overcooked. The portion size was definitely 50% less than we normally have in other Indian restaurants. My father was Indian so I've been visiting Indian restaurants for over 40 years so I know what to expect.The rice portion was the smallest we have seen in living memory. Seriously! It was server in a ramakin dish! We questioned if that was 'normal' and the waiter's response was 'you're paying £1.50, would you like me to get another one?'All in all, a really, really bad experience. It literally did leave a bad taste in my mouth. I left feeling not only hungry but scammed. I asked my wife if we could pick up an Indian take away on the way back from our usual, but got disagreeing looks so did not push it.Well, from my point of view, they will never get my business again. Times are bad, but this is no way to treat your customers.I forgot to add the service was exceptionally slow. The whole 'experience' took over an hour before we got our main course.The staff mask policy is obviously very ambiguous. Some wore masks over nose and mouth. Some just covering their mouth and nose expose. Some, not wearing masks at all. No consistency. Sorry, guys, you wont see us again. There is so much choice and this just fell well below expectations.

We were given a lovely reception at the restaurant and had a great experience dining at the Spice Lounge. The staff are friendly and catering. We didn’t have to ask for another round of drinks as they were already bringing them over when our glasses were almost empty. The waiters make you feel very welcome and also go out of their way to ensure that you have an exceptional experience. The food was cooked fresh and served hot and we highly recommend the restaurant overall especially due to the fact that they have extended the eat out to help out scheme on certain days. Looking forward to returning again!

Fab food and fab service, with the 50% off aswell! Me and my friends came the night before and they let us on for drinks just as they were closing, and tonight we came back for food and it was with us very quickly! Would definitely recommend!

Worst night ever. Took 35 minutes for someone to take our order and then another 45 minutes for our dinner to come. We had to ask for someone to take the order and had to ask where the food was after we ordered. We then had to ask them where our drinks were after they never arrived either. The food was not great! Tiny portion of curry and have the audacity to charge London prices. Unbelievable. Never would I come back. So unprofessional. Waiters shouting at each other across the restaurant and none of them knowing what they were doing! All we got was we are busy! Hardly anyone in there. How on earth would you cope with a full restaurant? And as for 50% off. Not a chance! Made up another menu for this! And at 50% off still charging £5 a curry?? I don’t think so. Avoid if you want a nice meal out as all this was is stress you don’t need when eating out!

I’m a number one fan here ... I am dead fussy with food as yep I’m a great cook ‍♀️so I hate to dine and pay for anything less than I can prepare myself ... been here constantly since it’s first opening and also use for take away ... it’s a healthy option too as never greasy and oily .. fantastic menu choice / lovely food / great service / never a reason to complain , cheeky staff that make it a fun experience too as they remember you which is always special .. no hesitation in recommending this restaurant always

Our visit was not disappointing in any way. Precautions taken for Covid with tables well spaced out. Food exceptional & the added bonus of 50% off of all food! Highly recommended 👌

We spontaneously booked a couple of tables last Sunday afternoon for that evening after a day at the beach. Nothing was too much trouble and we received great service. We all had a fantastic meal and enjoyed a 50% reduction that has been extended until Christmas 2020. So get booking!!!!!!

We’d heard good reviews about this restaurant so decided it was one for us to try. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. We had booked a week in advance to ensure we could get a table. Upon arriving we were left standing in the lobby area for 5 minutes, not a single member of staff even acknowledged we were there. Sat around the bar were a group of approx. 6 men, no social distancing and being extremely loud. We were then shown to our table at the furthest point away from the bar yet we could still hear the group of men as if they were next to us. We were brought menus and a drinks list (These were sticky, not one time menus and didn’t feel they’d been sanitised in between use) and asked if we wanted popadoms. We said we’d like popadoms and they arrived quickly to the table and were very nice. We still hadn’t ordered any drinks or food at this point. We ordered our drinks and when they arrived the beers were warm and one of the others was wrong twice (first time vodka and coke in a pint glass full to the brim, second time they brought Bacardi). A member of staff shouted at the girl who brought the drinks over whilst she was stood at our table rather than taking her to one side and discussing it. After sitting at the table for half an hour we’d finished our popadoms before they came to take our food order. It was a further 45 minutes at least before our food arrived. When it came to our table only half of the food arrived, Several minutes later some more arrived, this included a chicken shaslik that should have been lamb. It looked lovely and was sizzling but not what was ordered. We told the waiter it was wrong and it was taken away, we still hadn’t received our naan breads. They arrived a few minutes later and 2 of the 3 were undercooked and the dough was still raw. When the shashlik finally arrived it was not sizzling like the original one which leads me to believe they had just removed the chicken and put some lamb tikka on in its place. We sent the naan breads back and declined replacements. When the bill came up admittedly they had taken the shaslik off but the inedible naan breads were still on the bill. The waiter then came back to our table with, I presume the manager, and said they could remove them from our bill provided we paid the balance in cash. We did this and left as by this time our evening had been ruined. Throughout the evening staff were very hit and miss with regards to face masks, some didn’t have any in and others had them under their chin. Such a shame as the reviews we had previously read said how nice it was but that was not our experience. All the staff kept saying was “sorry we are so busy” however that was no excuse for poor service and undercooked food. Unfortunately based on our experience we will not be returning nor recommending it to others which is a shame as we like to support local businesses on the Island

We visited here on a busy Tuesday due to eat out for less but was welcomed and showed to our table by Ali and his excellent team we ordered our food and when it arrived they apologised for the wait but it was understandable we was not disappointed it was fantastic and and well worth the wait full of flavour I would recommend the garlic rice is amazing Ali even gave a complimentary drink after Thank you to Ali and his team your great will be visiting here again without a doubt Terry

Visited the restaurant for the first time this evening with some friends and their kids and found getting table nice and easy due to an early arrival before the evening crowds took advantage of the ongoing 50% scheme. Given the present climate, the venue was well catered for on the cleanliness front with hand sanitiser in the lobby area, tables spaced well apart from each other and staff wearing face coverings for the entire time. In terms of food, we tried a number of dishes and every one met or exceeded our expectations. Food was piping hot, plentiful and very tasty indeed. Probably ordered more than usual given the present deal and this afforded an opportunity to try some new things. Overall, very pleased with our experience and would be happy to return again in the future when the opportunity arises.

This is the first time we all went out because of covid but we felt at ease when we got there. There was hand sanitizers and wearing of masks by the waiters . The food was Gorgeous and hot and the service by the waiters were very friendly and attentive and you were not rushed will be back

This place is not to be missed out on SERIOUSLY. The 3 brothers, Ali, and Mr Naz done such a great job on such a busy night, could not fault the service nor the food. All 5 waiters would serve you with such a bright and welcoming smile definitely makes you feel welcome. A very hardworking team most certainly,The food is 110% better than before and have noticed a big change in taste which makes this place ten times better, DELICIOUS. Despite any delays you can't complain over this because it comes out piping hot, fresh taste and bursting with flavours.Exceptional value for money, Spice Lounge does not getthe recognition it needs. If you have not visited this place then you are missing out!We will definitely be back very soon!

We visited yesterday party of four, we absolutely loved it! The waiters would serve with a smile unlike other places, the food was gorgeous. Menu despite 50% off was not too expensive either fairly priced. I've been here before the whole pandemic and it was great then too. In regards to COVID-19 they have got track and trace keepings, hand sanitizer in 3 different most needed areas and staff wear masks at all time. Well done Spice Lounge! See you soon :)

Well, what can I say? What a disappointment. I came here for dinner today with some family and friends.We were the first party to arrive and as soon as we set foot in the door, the waiters started bickering amongst themselves. It was very uncomfortable. The tables weren't laid up and the staff were walking around as if they didn't know what they were doing.There were six of us and the drinks order was wrong even after we were asked to clarify it twice.I have to say that the meal was lovely. It was hot and tasted very good. There was so much, that we couldn't eat it all so we asked for a container to take the leftovers home. We were told that it would be done in the kitchen after the table was cleared.It took a very long time for the leftovers to actually be given to us. We were eventually given a plastic bag that contained a plastic box and another plastic bag. Inside the box was some food and inside the bag was a mixture of food but unfortunately it wasn't any that we had ordered. We'd all had chicken in one form or another but we were given a mixture of different food including a half eaten lamb chop.We complained straight away and I have to say we were disgusted. Not only is this completely unacceptable in normal circumstances but we are in the middle of a Covid-19 Pandemic. The waiter kept saying that it was what he'd been given in the kitchen and it must have been ours. We were not happy and said we wouldn't be paying the whole bill. He offered to cook us some more food but we refused.We sat for ages watching the waiters continuously bickering amongst themselves whilst we waited for the bill. Eventually it came up with a discount. A waiter came over and asked if everything was ok. We said the food was nice but the service wasn't good. He asked why. We explained about the leftover food and he said "But we've taken money off the bill". We paid and left.Needless to say, we wouldn't recommend The Spice Lounge and definately won't be going back.

To begin with last nightI felt a bit unsafe because only half the waiters were wearing masks. The guy came and asked what drinks we were having. He asked My Husband and Sons and Daughter He then pointed to me and said to My Husband what is she having. Well as you can imagine I hit the roof. I asked for Gin and Tonic. When it came it tasted like Pernod so I sent it back . The food I thought wasn’t up to much. The service even worse. When The mains finally arrived it was cold. We were sitting there just talking and I got showered in glass. A new waiter dropped glasses and bottles right behind me. It was like something out of Faulty towers. Then the manager tried to sweep up with a mop.people rave about this restaurant but I thought it was the worst place I’ve ever eaten in. They were not very prepared for Covid. That’s one to chalk up to experience.

Have been going here for ages and recently popped in after the pandemic restrictions were imposed.Was good to see the staff and restaurateur taking the Covid regulations seriously. Plenty of hand sanitizer, socially distanced tables =,staff wearing masks and track and trace details taken. We felt very comfortable and to boot the food has stepped up a notch as there is a new chef. Our food was noticeably improved and we thoroughly enjoyed our first meal out since lockdown.

Booked for valentines night. Arrived 20 past 7 for 7.30 shown to table 16 mins later asked if we’d like a drink, 10 min later my drink arrived, after another 10 mins we had to ask if my husband could have his beer then after another 5 mins it came, then ordered poppodoms which came after we had been at the restaurant just under an hour. We had not even been asked for our order. We eventually ordered but after two hours still no food, we asked for the bill having only eaten poppodoms and drinks. They charged us for poppodoms and drink and we left. Their excuse was they were short staffed. Valentine’s Day and full restaurant should have enough staff. No organisation, staff rude and can’t critic food - didn’t actually get anything

Where shall i start. If ordering take away by phone dont bother, not once have we got the right order, have waited 2 hours for one delivery. Booked a table for Valentine's 3 weeks in advance but when we got there the booking was not taken. Had to wait 10mins for a table, once seated sat for 20mins without being seen so decided to leave. We wasn't even asked once we was seated if we wanted any drinks. Whilst we was waiting we Watch a couple being seated ordered drinks an receive poppadoms. My advice after such a very poor service giving this place yet another chance after chance is stay well clear an go to benfleet Tandoori.

Had a meal in the restaurant, was the best Indian meal I’ve had in a long time. My husband was very pleased with his also. Service quick but it wasn’t busy at the time.

For me and my family the best Indian food we have found since moving on the island, we was there again last week four of us had different dishes and all was enjoyed, normal price approximately £20 per head, would recommend this restaurant staff friendly, we intend to try the Sunday buffet in the near future.

went for a meal with my mum, aunt and sister before going to see Downton Abbey! All of us have an healthy appetite apart from my aunt who never eats. She did not stop here and tried everything! Food was lovely, service excellent - coming back just to feed aunty!

Had chicken balti tikka which was very nice as was the nan and side dish mushroom Baji. But the lamb tikka was virtually inedible, as was so tough and chewy, not what I expected, especially after the reviews on trust pilot..

Ordered online and the food was delivered very quick but was piping hot Loads of flavour and tasted great Would recommend

First visit here with friends , the restaurant is inviting , and the waiter was polite and friendly, the meal was enjoyable I had the king prawn masala very tasty , friends had veg biriyani , and chicken tikka masala.nicely presented. Will return we enjoyed the meal .

Ok, first of all, let me get the only negative out of the way. We have eaten here 3 or 4 times now and each time has been early evening with the restaurant less that 1/5 full yet still we end up spending 2 hours (which for a family of 3 eating by themselves their evening meal i.e. not a group of friends meeting up to chat) is a long time.

First but not last time trying Spice Lounge. Great popadoms, tangy korai and beautifully spiced and flavoursome vindaloo. Next time I will ask for a little less ghee in the cooking but overall lovely food.

We had the buffet on a Sunday afternoon at it was great value for money.

Never had a bad meal here and always clean and tidy. Can get busy so check first. Have visited with groups or as a couple but still a great experience.

We have been here on several occasions and have had the same staff each time, very friendly and polite the food is amazing and the menu has all the usual Indian recipes and some that are house specials that should be tried.

Took my son for a evening meal . We had the tandoori lamb chops for starters which were absolutely delicious . My son had a chicken tikka masala and I had a chicken madras for main course. My son loved the masala and said it was very tasty and nicely spiced . My chicken madras was really nice but it was more like a medium curry , it lacked a bit of spice , had I had known I would’ve had the vindaloo . Overall the food was very good as was the service. The portions weren’t huge but that was a positive as I didn’t leave feeling bloated and had enough room for a dessert . I’d definitely recommend the restaurant and would have no hesitation in eating there again.

Food was tasty, staff great and went out of their way to buy milk for our toddler as they were out. Went sat night at 7pm and they were not that busy. Food was prompt and piping hot. Would happily go again.

When to the buffet with 8 of us. Booked a table and got there st 12.30pm As there was only one other table in use only half the food was brought and I ended up paying for other food. As we were about to keatat about 2.15 we noticed the buffet was full so asked for a refund as the food we paid extra for was now free offered a free drink but this was no good as 6 of us were children ☹️☹️

I find it hard to find a great Indian on the island but I must say this is the first time I’ve had a take away from here and it was fantastic they delivered when they said it was really tasty hot and freshly cooked next time we’re go and eat in . I’ll definitely recommend this restaurant.

Had been to this restaurant a few month previously and thought it was exceptional. Unfortunately it seemed the opposite now. Went for Sunday buffet - hardly anything in the buffet and what was there was dried up. Had to wait for new items to be brought up. Service was slow and not very welcoming either. Table next to us had to ask to be served as no one attended to them despite only a handful of people in the restaurant. Will not be going back.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed amazing service mixed with tasty food. She is Vegan and I am Meegan. We both found food we liked and the staff explained their food ingredients to help us. So nice, a beautiful restaurant, we will be back, highly recommended!

Salir a cenar con mi novia era la comida lenta servicio era insípida, pero agradable y caliente que era un buen vino cosa era agradable y frío. El restaurante está decorado todo el personal parecía muy inteligente. Opciones del menú y la agradable camarero era...

Esta fue la cena de celebración para mi hija paso y aunque el servicio fue bueno hasta el momento cuando tuvimos que pagar y el camarero intentó cobrar de mi esposa por una enorme cantidad. Por suerte (creo) que no había tenido demasiado a beber y la factura era bastante rápido, sin embargo, modificación borrachos ¡cuidado! Y estoy seguro de que aún pagado demasiado. De todos modos la comida, aunque un poco menos generosa y bien estaba caliente, pero quizás nada emocionante y era bastante obvio el por qué, para un viernes por la noche, no estaba tan lleno.

Fuimos con la familia para la comida del día de la Madre era horrible, no había elección, servicio terrible, muy lento abundante platos vacíos, muy caros aquí no volvería.

La primera vez que hemos estado allí. Quedé impresionado por el aspecto de todo. Comida agradable y fresco y porciones grandes. . Los camareros se aseguró de que nuestra tarta de cumpleaños fue traído con luces y velas africano.

Wow. First time here for a sit down meal. Will be back. The food was fresh tasting and very well spiced. The beer was cold. All be it a bit expensive. I had a jalfrezi. And it was perfect heat. Well done guys. See you all soon.

Glad we go there early because the restaurant got very busy by 8.00 pm.Had to laugh, I ordered a Captain Morgans and diet lemonade, waiter brought me CM and coke, He said here is your CM and lemonade I said that looks like coke to me! he apologized, came back with a lemonade , my husband said she asked for Diet lemonade! I said don't bother I'll put up with what I've got now.Can't fault the food it was very nice and plenty of it., in fact to much for us,( so we took half of it home with us).We left asap because it was very noisy.

Visited tonight. Didn't book. Myself and my wife took a chance and it paid off.Great sublime food, very well cooked a chicken rolls jalfrezi for myself and a chicken bhuna for my wife. The sundries, rice ,saag aloo, onion bajis we all divine.The service was a little slow but taking into account its was Saturday evening not much to grumble about.The criticisms would be the lack of attentiveness from the waiter and the lack of ambiance due to lighting and noise of group bookings. Would recommend though.

Went with my other half after hearing about it from a neighbour. We should have been earlier as the food was fantastic and huge portions. We had live music (not sure of its a regular thing) provided by a female vocalist which was slightly too loud. The only real downside is the price of alcohol which is quite steep. Overall though, it's a great restaurant with tasty food and we will be using them again.

30 members of Canvey Thameside U3A visited the Spice Lounge on Monday evening. The food was excellent, hot and plentiful. The price wad £11.95 for a starter, main course, side dish to share and rice or naan bread so excellent value for money. Drinks are a reasonable price as well.

Firstly I can't believe I didn't make it here sooner, I usually avoid Indian restaurants due to being rather unhealthy and disappointing. However, following some rather good reviews I decided to try. The importance here is that we ordered off the menu, the buffet will feature in a separate review as it doesn't meet the same standard. This was by far the best Indian food I have had anywhere on the planet. For starters we ordered paneer tikka and salmon tikka. Both were prepared to perfection and you could taste every spice. The sauces on the side were incredible. Our mains were chicken in coriander sauce and a duck dish, both of which were amazing. We ordered coconut rice, I have never tasted anything so incredibly wonderful and keema rice. I always have sag paneer and judge a restaurant on the quality of this dish alone. Let me tell you I was not disappointed. I have visited twice since including Christmas Day. This was a whole other experience as the buffet and will not get such a good review I'm afraid.

Went here on a Sunday with friends had a tasty buffet in nice relaxing restaurant. Great choice for the money.

Myself and my partner decided last knockings that we would go out and decided to go into the spice lounge nearby.We eaten here several times before and always had excellent meals . There was no need to book,but this is not always the case and it gets full quickly. The staff are very polite and not intrusive at all,but check back regularly to make sure that everything is ok . A good selection on the menu well described and Sunday Buffett is a definite must especially good way to introduce children to Indian food

We decided to grab a bite to eat prior to going to the Cinema. The Restaurant is well laid out the decor is clean and modern. They were preparing for a Michael Buble tribute evening, so there was a steady arrival of people, but this did not detract from the service offered. It has a great menu of Indian Food, and full bar facilities. Service was prompt, but not overpowering. Our drinks arrived and we decided on sharing some main courses, Prawn and Chicken curries, some sides and rice and naan. The food was well prepared, well cooked and tasted great. There was a dessert menu, but we decided not to have dessert. Some more drinks followed and the whole early evening experience was very pleasant.

Visited on a Wednesday with another couple. A group of 6 diners were just finishing and there were 5 other diners in the restaurant.After 30 minutes we had to ask for our order to be taken.The food overall was quite tasty (nothing exceptional) but everything arrived lukewarm and had obviously been standing for some time before being served. When we advised them that food wasn"t hot the waiters started blaming the chef !!If they can't serve hot food when the restaurant is empty I'd hate to dine there when it was busy !!

Went on a very quiet Tuesday. Warm and polite welcome. Very cleansurroundings. Not rushed. No starters ordered just main meals and extras for four. All meals excellentand averaged about £22 each with drinks. Alovely meal with good friendsin a easy atmosphere. One of the best Indian meals weve ever had and would certainly go back.

First visit to Spice lounge this evening . We were given a warm welcome and shown to a table. The waiters were attentive and professional.The food arrived quite quickly . There was 4 of us in the party and we all ordered different dishes. The food was excellent.All 4 of us enjoyed our meal and hope to return soon.

This is an excellent indian restaurant. We have ordered a few take aways for delivery from here and never disapointed, food is delivered fast and is always hot. They even send the hot towels and chocolate mints in the bag which makes a take away more authentic! Thank you

Been here twice, both occasions were for a family birthday. The food isn't bad, tasty but nothing too special. The waiters are polite and the service is quick. Never seen it busy though.

Friendly staff, did not rush us through our evening, which is one of my pet hates !! Very good food, good size portions. Good value for money.

been coming here since it opened the food is still great a lot to chose from the menubrought 20 people here for a birthday bash and everyone was pleased with there foodthe staff here are great and they will put extra or less spices in to suit your taste

I have only just started eating Indian food and this was the first restaurant I went to. The food was delicious and the menu explained what each dish washer. The staff were very friendly

I've now been to this restaurant 4 times. Each time its not a great experience which is a shame as the food is really good. It is the service which lets things down. Staff have left us waiting for ages before taking our drinks orders - to the point where we have had to ask to be served. we ordered poppadum's which come with a selection of condiments. The little teaspoons in each condiment had greasy sticky fingerprints all over them, which either meant, another table had used these condiments prior to them coming to our table (maybe they were topped up), or someone in the kitchen has very dirty hands - either way its not a good look!Once the food orders are taken the dishes usually arrive pretty quickly and the food is always tasty. Once the meal is finished it can take a while before the bill is delivered and grabbing someone's attention to ask for the bill is almost impossible. While my partner and myself were eating there we actually said that we would prefer to have ordered from our closest Indian takeaway as the service would have been better and cheaper. The only reason I would recommend the Spice Lounge is because it is the only sit -in Indian restaurant on the island that I know of. it could be so much better than it is if only the staff paid more attention to their customers.

We have been here loads of times And bought friends here that like a good India They said it's good food We come here for birthdays as we know we will get a good meal and its value for money

What a gem.Plenty of space, excellent service, great tasting food at very reasonable prices. We got a free drink before we left too.

The food at the Spice Lounge is really good and there's plenty to keep you full ! They also have tribute acts on at certain times I think so it can be a whole evening of entertainment as well as just a nice meal out. Food wasn't too expensive either which is a bonus.
