Saffron in Castle Point

I ate here with my wife early evening and made a point of asking for 'NO' coriander - my main arrived with coriander and I sent it back, I wasn't impressed when the dish came back with a small amount of coriander still on it — obviously the kitchen simply took off the coriander they could see — VERY bad practise... What if it was an allergy and the residue made someone ill?

Food was quite nice, apart from the garlic nan which was really strong like raw garlic taste. Scallops were not available from the menu. Service could have been a little better as I had to wave for attention but the man was very nice.

Been to this restaurant a number of times, never been disappointed. As of all restaurants, they are only as good as the chef. In this case they are first class

leaflets came through the door about how amazing the chef was etc so we were keen to try. Sadly it wasn't for us, none of us liked a single dish which is very unusual given the choice of dishes ordered.

Went here last night with hubby. We both really enjoyed it lovely staff who we had a good chat with. Food was lovely and full of taste. We shall see you soon!

Great food, staff very helpful & friendly, even though yesterday was only our second visit we have already decided that this is the best restaurant on the island and will now be our regular one

Just moved in recently in Canvey Island. Me and my partner were looking for a local curry place and we came across this place. The food I must say was absolutely amazing considering we coming from Manchester with Rusholme curry mile, but gotta say was lovely dining experience for us.

The restaurant is fairly small. We went as a party of 4, unfortunately there was a very loud (and drunken) party of 7 on the table next to us, in a larger restaurant this may not of been so much of a problem as there would probably be more space between the tables. The service was excellent. The prices were reasonable, the food was very good. I have had better though. For me the food just lacked a little flavour. The Scallop starter was excellent though! It is not a place I would rush back to, but I wouldn't rule out going there again.

Great food, outstanding customer service and the waiters are well friendly. This is a busy restaurant. Everything is just absolutely spot on. If you want to have a perfect meal and a perfect day I recommend this restaurant.

The food is lovely and fresh and wonderfully presented. There are lots of different dishes on the menu as well as the usual popular dishes. The restaurant is small but busy. The staff were very welcoming and very helpful in helping us to choose our Meal.We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Was it the best Indian we have ever tasted? No but we would certainly go back there.

We have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed the food is delicious with a good choice for Vegetarians it is beautifully presented with great service and reasonably priced well worth a visit

Tried this restaurant after reading the revues. Was not disappointed. A wide and varied menu. The food we ordered arrived at the table piping hot and was delicious. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Will definitely be going back.

Just moved to the area, & just had our 3rd Take away from here.Outstanding value , extensive choice & now our absolute favourite .Tried the Sunday Special in the restaurant last week & we were all really impressed .Very friendly staff.

We were visiting Canvey for a friend's party and stumbled across this restaurant for an early evening meal. Friendly service, excellent food and good value for money. We have eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants and this is one of the best. Would certainly visit again.

Found this little place while visiting friends but the food staff ect was fantastic!!! Food was on par with top restaurants if not better and the restaurant and staff were very welcoming and pleasant. Well Defo going back with family and friends. Definitely not a place to miss.

I could not believe that a little restaurant like this would serve top class food but its true!! the restaurant chef is amazing,it was full on a tuesday when we arrived for the 5 course meal deal and the onion bhaji is to die for.. We definitely will return with our family and friends. Well done everyone at Mumbai lounge you have won our hearts.

We were new to the area so visited this restaurant to try it out. My partner has travelled all over India but reckoned the meal he had here was the best Indian food he had ever tasted. We passed our positive feed back to the chef as we were well pleased. This deserves the five stars I am giving.

Previously , this restaurant has been owned by many different owners and has gone bankrupt every time. The menu has a great many options (Almost too many) , a number of dishes that I have never heard of before. Eat in there on a Sunday night and have to admit that the food was the best Indian food I have ever tasted , for once somewhere nice apart from Izzi's and the Labworth to eat on the island. Highly recommended , will definitely return.

This place sells extremely good food, the taste is superb if you want a good meal then I recommend this place. It's a winner in the island by far !!!!!!

For something different from most Indian restaurants then this is the place. Items on the menu different from other Indians. An award winning chef. Great food, great staff. Have been here twice in 1 month.The service is friendly and professional and polite. The food is of a high taste with plenty on offer. A good selection that caters for all taste buds. The way the food is served shows that pride is taken by the chef in his cooking and presentation. I recommend this place if you like Indian food with a difference.
