Rishi in Norwich

Friendly service excellent food decided to change from what we usually order (habits of what we know we like) and so glad we did tried new dishes and thoroughly enjoyed them.

We took visiting family to Rishi last Saturday night. The restaurant was very convenient for us as we just live up the road. We booked online which was very quick and efficient and they get extra stars for asking about any access needs. I use a mobility scooter and have had a few unpleasant experiences in restaurants. We were welcomed with warmth and care. It was early evening so we had a pick of tables. The Restaurant had level access and was clean and well lit inside. I took my scooter inside and transferred to a seat without any problems. The staff were very attentive and quick to serve drinks and starters. The food was excellent, I’m still thinking about how good it was! My cousin and her partner are proper foodies and they were very impressed with both the food and the service. I was pleased with how the whole evening went and feel very grateful to all the staff at Rishi for a brilliant evening.

Lovely food, great service, really well priced

We enjoyed the meal we ordered. Very tasty. Lots of it. Much taken home 😊 Ordered a Cobra 0 and got a Heineken 0 instead. When I questioned, was told they didn't do the cobra because it was in cans (?) so they gave me the Heineken instead. Just wished they had asked if that was ok before putting it opened on the table. Plus, I wouldn't mind Cobra in cans. We unfortunately had a large party behind us who were talking loudly on their phones, who yelled across the room to get the waiters attention and who just seemed to not compute that there were other people in the restaurant. But that was them - but I do wonder if larger parties could be seated away from other diners. Found the room to be a little chilly. But potentially this is because the temperature has dropped in the last week or so. With the exception of one surly young man who didnt seem to want to be there, staff were lovely and courteous. Would we visit again? Potentially not to sit in. But definitely for a takeaway.

Tasty food and fast service. My curry could have been a bit spicier but other than that, an overall great experience! Will be coming back here for sure.

Overall a great place to enjoy a delicious curry - check out their specials! But I found it very expensive for what it offered and the exceptional service was sadly not reflected in the restaurant layout itself, which feels a little like a community centre.

Dropped in while passing, glad we did. Food authentic and well cooked and presented, helpful cheerful servers. I was having trouble finding a parking space and the manager came out and showed me to a secret parking space. Will be back.

We have been here a good few times..once my chicken was a wee bit dry..apart from that the food had been 1st class..last wk we ordered a home delivery the food was beautiful and was still nice and warm on our last bite

We had a birthday meal fory 61st birthday a lovely meal but please be aware that we didn't say anything but please make your kitchen aware that the meat we ate was over cooked

Popped in with the wife this evening, first time we have been and it was lovely. One of the best in Norwich I would say, tasty, hot, and the best Naan I’ve ever had. We will be back!

We came in 19:30 on Thursday evening, great service and delicious curries. Monty a great host as always.

I had 2 takeaways, Chicken Jalfrezi and the next day Chicken Tandoori, both were really nice and fresh. I had a side dish of Okra, really enjoyed it, amazing.

Good quality food and very good service.

Lovely place for a family meal. We were there with 17 members - two extra to what we booked - and they took it in their stride with no problem. All the food came at the same time for all of us. It was hot, beautifully prepared and presented. Everyone said it tasted really good. They were able to cater for all our varied food requirements including vegan with no issues or drama. Thank you.

A very warm welcome by the staff on arrival that's just first class thank you,, the food is A+++, the best Indian in norwich, would recommend to anyone to try it.

We thought we'd give this place a try but will not be returning ever again. Poppadoms were so greasy, chicken tikka was dry and no taste as well as burnt and the vegetables were grey and soggy. The place had no atmosphere and the manager must have been cold as he kept his coat on all the time he was serving! We complained and he said there was nothing he could do but deducted the two chicken tikkas off but we ate hardly anything at all. It was our monthly girls meet up and it completely ruined our night. We've never gone home so early!

Very nice food but a little pricey and not much parking

Our second time here, this restaurant is definitely one of the better ones in Norwich. Food is great and the service really good too. I noted the politeness and helpfulness of the staff.

Lovely meal with friends, delicious food served lovely and hot. Waiters were friendly and professional. Will definately visit again.

The service was brilliant but unfortunately the food wasn't as good. My vegetable biryani was very bland, and the vegetable curry part of the meal was dark red. The vegetables were the same colour, and it was hard to distinguish what they were. I left most of my meal. I did tell the waiter it wasn't good but I didn't go any further with my complaint as he had been excellent.

Poppadoms stale, waited 20 mins to get drinks finally having to ask someone. Food ordered which took over 40 minutes to arrive, restaurant was only half full. Food was not hot (temperature wise). we ordered onion bhajis which seemed to be cooked in very old oil . Not a great night only 4 of us who all feel unwell today, we won’t be visiting again, definitely need to up their game when you have other Indian restaurants in Norwich.

I got a takeaway and it was genuinely one of the worst curry’s I’ve ever had. Sent it back straight away. The person on the phone was nice and apologised but the curry was still horrid

In my opinion, the best Indian sub continent food in Norwich. All staff were extremely welcoming, service was fast and the food very tasty. A reasonable price too. Support this restaurant everyone, as small businesses are under pressure and when they are gone, they are gone. Superb and ample parking. Near the centre of Norwich.

Very nice food, but the service was quite slow despite it being very quiet in there. It was pretty chilly in the restaurant too making the atmosphere only 3 stars.

We ordered a delivery as a treat, unlike previously it was not good at all

The first red flag was when we rung to book a table they told us we could come down right away. The service was ok, waiters were nice - they didn’t come and check on us mid meal which isn’t a great deal as sometimes this can be annoying when trying to enjoy a meal. The food to be honest was awful, my partner had a curry which was basically water with a weird mix of sweet and spice throughout in different places. I ordered a chicken passanda which is meant to be nice and creamy but it was far from that, had a weird sweet taste to it and was watery as well. Portion sizes were also very small and the rice I ordered was lumpy in places. The cokes were THE worst item as they both tasted like bleach, I did not even finish it, absolutely vile. My partner ended up ill later in the evening. The best part of the meal was the naan bread - tasted quite fresh but shame there wasn’t a decent curry to go with it. I don’t see how this place has so many good reviews as the food is terrible. Unfortunately I would not go here to eat again and I would avoid at all costs. Spend your money somewhere else.

We love going here and so do my kids. Staff so polite and food 10/10. Great car park so can walk straight in and love the atmosphere inside. Recommend the Chicken Tikka Main. We go monthly!

Had a meal here last night , service was great and staff friendly. Food came and was hot , well presented and very tasty thoroughly enjoyed our meal and evening and if visiting the area again we will definitely pop in again!

Attended a wedding. Food was reasonably tasty. Good customer service. Good location with car parking. Easy to find.

Ordered a takeaway on just eat. When it arrived the curry tubs were full of grease and totally inedible. Called the restaurant and complained. No offer to rectify anything or a refund.

Ordered delivery. Didnt ring bell just left outside. Food was so greasy went in bin. Called restaurant not really bothered. Wont be using them again disgusting

The food and service at Rishi is always outstanding and this was no exception. I’ve eaten Indian food all over the world and I’ve never eaten better than Rishi. I really can’t recommend it highly enough

Absolutely fantastic meal. Probably the best in Norwich. Venue is fab, staff very friendly and the food to die for. I cannot believe that it was not busy on a Saturday night. Word needs to get around!!

Ordered a takeaway and was 15 minutes late so called to ask if it was out for delivery yet as was a Friday night. Told me it had been delivered, when I said it hadn't manager passed me to his delivery driver who explained to me in confrontational terms that, "your wrong, it's bin delivered mate, house numbah u said!". She explained she knocked, left it on the doorstep, but didn't see anyone. I asked pass me back to your manager as don't think you're suitable to discuss this issue as I don't have my food, and the manager seemed to hesitate as if it's not his problem and I need to think of a solution. Long story short, I did get a full refund. And the next day my girlfriend found a comment on our local Facebook group saying they had received an Indian takeaway to their door and it wasn't theirs. We were confident it was our food when they further mentioned they live at number 28 and we live at 78...

Me and my son enjoyed an Indian together yesterday for his birthday this is the 3rd time I've been and it was a very tasty and enjoyable experience, we were deciding on where to go and said let's go support our local Indian after the papers had did a story on them. They even did a discount for my son and let us off with one dish which I was pleasantly surprised of. My only small moan is would have liked some red sauce other than that it was excellent, we were the only two diners so service was nice and fast also.

Booked a table for fathers Day. We enjoyed a delicious meal. Everything was well presented, and the attention from the staff was outstanding 👏 👌, must admit the air conditioning added to the occasion.

Rishi is a wonderful place to have a late evening meal. I had poppadoms, chicken tikka bhuna with boiled rice, naan bread, coconut ice cream which was in a coconut shell. My drink was a Cola. Rishi is on the outer ring road, its location is great. As the manager reminds the people to Use us or Lose us. It certainly is the best Indian restaurant outside the city centre.

Love this restaurant. Food and service always top quality. We visit often. My favourite is King Prawn Dansaak (Naga hot).

Been visiting Rishi for years, pretty much a weekly treat after work. Always a friendly welcome, always a good meal. Never think about going anywhere else! No hesitation to recommend.

We ordered a delivery - takeaway at 7.25 tonight. The website didn’t seem to process the order the first time so I had to do it again, I phoned the order line to make sure it had gone through after waiting an hour as I was worried something else had gone wrong as the delivery time stated was 45 mins. the order was £36.95 for plan rice, garlic chicken, chicken Ceylon, garlic nan bread, 2x popadom. an onion salad. It arrived at 8.55pm COLD we had to heat it all in our microwave and grill the Nan as it was so cold. We have been to the restaurant many times but the last wasn’t a good experience but we all have the odd bad experience so we ordered the delivery. I phoned them to tell them how cold it all was to be told it was the delivery ladies fault, when I order again to let them know and they will do something for me?! Really??? Why would I want to order again So disappointed ☹️ what a waste of money!!!

This is the worst Indian meal I have ever been served from the start the sides served with the poperdoms had been watered down the starters wear very ordinary the sauce on the main food had split and separated and clearly heated up from the night before the chicken was tough and chewy not edible rice was reheated and full of lumps all in all I have absolutely nothing good to say about this restaurant has to be the worst in Norwich by a long way AVOIDED

Had meal in house a few years ago, was lovely. As a very rare treat, decided to get a home delivery. Extrememy unhappy as food arrived cold, totally inedible and unable to reheat as chicken meal. First time I'd had home delivery from here, never again. Complete waste if money. So disappointed.

Hier war ich geschäftlich, also ohne wie sonst üblich, mit den Hunden. Extrem hilfsbereites und sehr freundliches Personal. Vom Taxifahrer sehr empfohlen! Das Restaurant hat dann auch alles gehalten. Sehr gutes Indisches Essen in allen Schärfebereichen. Auch nach dem Essen keine Probleme:-) keine Reservierung nötig.

Great food, easy parking, very friendly attentive staff. Our favorite Indian food in Norwich. Returned to find what appeared a new menu with more Bangladeshi style food. I went for the kashmir chicken and special rice. It was delicious, flavoured with banana. The waiter was very helpful and friendly. They are building houses next door, so access to the car park is a bit tighter but the food is just as good.

This is one of the best restaurant we have ever been, we come from High Wycombe and have plenty of Indian restaurants available
